Navigation on results returned by a query

          I have a few hundreds of rows (retrived from a database) which i need to display
          on a user screen. I want to break this result in to smaller chunks, say 50 each,
          and provide the user with navigation buttons as in "Next 50, Prev 50 etc.). Other
          than writing very complicated JSP routines to do this, are there any better ways
          to implement this under the Weblogic framework.
          I would be eternally grateful to anybody who can provide me with any hints. I'm
          afraid i'm at a dead end on this.

          I am afraid there are no easy way of doing this using WL framework. I would implement
          a Tag Library to implement this iterator pattern. You have to implement a local
          cache which would hold X items to be displyed in the presentaion server. You can
          hold all the data in the stateful session bean. Your local cache is then will
          be updated as needed basis ( when user clicks next/prev button) by making a call
          to the session bean. The JSP tag libray will then display the local cache.

How can I show all the results returned by a sql query?

I need your help.
Let's say I have one table: TableA. Fields of TableA are aleg, anon, apes. The following sentence can return, in general, several rows: select anon from TableA where aleg = somevalue. I'd like to show the result of column anon but no luck. If I try to show the results in a TextArea and the origin is an sql query only shows the first row value. I tried Show as: show as text (based in PLSQL) and coding an anonymous plsql block as

Just starting with apex. I think I know how to show the results in a report region. I've simplified the posted question.
A more detailed question would be: Suppose you have a region where you have put several text areas to accommodate the result of a multi-column query (lets say for TableA) that only returns one row, each column value returned put in a different text area. Also you want to show the values of other fields in TableB that depends on some value just retrieved from TableA and that you want all values retrieved (from TableA and the linked TableB) to be show in the same region. Is that possible? If yes, how?

Image Import Error "No query results returned"

Hi All,
I have the problem while importing images, several image have not been imported with this error.
Log:
Importing [German [DE]] '205865_logo.jpg'...failed.
Import complete
Error:
E:\images\205865\h-jpeg\205865_logo.jpg: No query results returned
Altogether I have imported 17000 Images. 16998 have been successful and 2 throw this error. Anybody an idea what this means and how to avoid it?

I assume you import the images to a catalog, dont you?
Which catalog do you use? MDM or CCM?

im using postgreSql (7.2) as a backend and JDBC3 (from http://jdbc.postgresql.org/).
im getting the exception, "No results were returned by the query" whenever i try to do an insert. the weird thing is that insert works and i can see a record in the database, but i still get this exception and i can't do anything.

you should use executeUpdate for queries that do not return result sets. that would include insert, update and delete.
i didn't know that, that would cause a problem with postgreSql jdbc. im use to of Oracle and i never got these problems with Oracle
this is not a problem with postgres it is a problem with your lack of understanding the API and the Oracle driver if it let's you do this is wrong.
the API clearly states that is you try and execute a SQL statement that does not produce a ResultSet with executeQuery then a SQLException should be thrown.
so again the postgres driver is correct you and the oracle driver are wrong.

No result returned or XML returned contains error in test query

I have a problem with Visual Composer 7.0. When I try to execute a test query it shows the following error:
'No result returned or XML returned in the result contains error'. What could it be?

Either your query doesn't return results or you don't have the MSXML Parser installed on your client.

0 result returned for query "collection ('exampledata.dbxml')/article

I using BDB XML I create a container called Exampledata.dbxml using java API. using a separate program I put my sigmodRecord.xml file into the container. I then wrote another program (see the program below) to test my Query

Return Status Message Query results in PowerShell

Hi everyone,
I'd like to know if there's a way to run a Status message query from PowerShell and have the results return as an array of objects. In other words, I'd like to be able to view the results from the Status Message Viewer in PowerShell so I can monitor
the deployment of a task sequence.
Is this at all possible? It's basically a WMI query so I should be able to do someting like this:

To get description info use the SMS_StatMsgWithInsStrings instead of SMS_StatusMessage:

You will need to parse out your desired properties. I am using InsString3 and 2. It's not perfect but it's at least more informative.

CQWP does not return result for a specific query when filtering on a managed metadata field.

We are facing a serious production issue. We've search the web extensively but to no avail.
Problem:
CQWP does not return result for a specific query when filtering on a managed metadata field.
ULS log:
The Uls logs provides 3 different messages that I could relate to every time the query is executed. The last item(level Medium) is displayed 14 times. For readability I've moved the ULS logs to the bottom of this question.
Query:
The query is as follows:
(I've translated this from dutch so pardon any typo's)
Query: (top selection) Display items from all sites in the site collection

When I modify the filter to filter on Title the CQWP DOES return the correct document!
When I modify the query settings to search a specific library the CWQP also does return the correct document! (In this case I am filtering on a managed metadata field).
QUESTION:
Why doesn't the CQWP return the document when filtering on a managed metadata field over the entire site collection.

ServerException: No query results returned

Hi,
When i am creating a record in Hierarchical table using MDM java api
i get the error
ServerException: No query results returned    and this is not consistent.

make the result set scroll insensitve, do rs.last(), get the row num, and call rs.beforeFirst(), then you can process the result set like you currently do.

How to restrict number of rows returned in a query

Hi frnds,
I'd like to restrict number of rows returned by my query to some 10 rows. how to do that.When I try doing with the rownum<10 its giving results for a particular dept and that too some 6 rows only...btw I'm grouping my table and includes joins from many a table and am ordering the table results by a column.. How to do this..

TELL ME HOW MANY ROWS YOU HAVE IN TABLE?
Because you have only *6 rows* in you column, if you less than 10 rows then it displays only containied/exist rows. nothing much

Problem with return a ColdFusion query object from a Java class

I need to return a ColdFusion query object from a Java class
using a JDBC result set ( java.sql.ResultSet);
I have tried to pass my JDBC result set in to the constructor
of the coldfusion.sql.QueryTable class with this code:

Can we use a result of a SQL Query as a column name of another table to retrieve data. If so please help me.
For eg :
I have a table where is store numbers;
select col1 from table1 where col1='5';
and i have another table where .. this value of col is a column name..

select col1 from table1 where col1='5';That query will always return either '5' or nothing. Whatever you're trying to accomplish with that, you can do with an EXISTS query.
Perhaps you meant to reference two different columns in that query:
select col1 from table1 where col2='5';In that case, sorry, no, you can't do that without resorting to dynamic SQL.
If the same column is used throughout the query (but could change every time you run the query), then the dynamic SQL might be pretty easy. In SQL*Plus, for example, you could use substitution variables, defined in another query at run-time.
If there are only a few possible values that the sub-query could possibly return, and you know what they all are, then you can fake a dynamic query like this:
SELECT     CASE     ( SELECT col1
            FROM       table1
            WHERE       col2     = '5'
          WHEN 'BONUS'     THEN bonus
          WHEN 'COMM'     THEN comm
          WHEN 'SAL'     THEN sal

It would help if you posted a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statments for both tables), and the results you want to get from that data. If you want to pass a parameter to the query, give the results you want for a couple of different parameters.

Message tracking max results returned

Hi All,
On message tracking page the predefined max rsults returned value only have 3 options 250, 500 and 1000. May i know how can i increase query setting more than 1000 results return.

Hi Rock,
You cannot increase the query to more than 1000, but you can change your other parameters. For example, you could change the date scope until you get down to under 1000 results.
You will have to run multiple queries to pull all the data you're looking for, but unless/until they change the maximum results this will give you a workaround.

Emailing results of a SQL Query....

I am new to Oracle and was wondering if there is a way to create an email task that could be used to email results of a sql query. My query returns emails addresses that meet a specified criteria. I want to use an email task that takes these addresses as variables and sends out an email to the specified email address.
Anyone provide any help with how I might do this?

The odiSqlUnload has a "select" command. Is possible, at your process, work with the "LPAD()" and/or "RPAD()" function to complete the necessary whitespace at each column?
To the column heading I suggest you use the "union" like: (I put the lpad and rpad fuctions as example...)
select col1, col2, col3

select 1 as internal_order, 'header_col1' as col1, 'header_col2' as col2, 'header_col3' as col3
from dual
UNION
