NC_OP_START and NC_OP_STOP purpose

I don't understand well the purpose of ncAction with NC_OP_START and NC_OP_STOP on a network interface object and I have no PCI-CAN available at the moment to test it.
Is it correct to say that the processor of a stopped board will accept the new frames written to the write queue with ncWrite but will delay the actual transmssion until a NC_OP_START is issued ?
I must send 18 frames over the CAN bus but the thread that calls ncWrite is interrupted by other threads of equal or higher priority and I end up with some unacceptable delay in the flow. May I issue a NC_OP_STOP then fill the write queue and issue a NC_OP_START and expect the frames to be sent without interruption by the board ?

Hello B2k,
The difference is 50s but I should have mentionned that those 50s are lost over 4096 stop/start cycles and each cycle places 18 frames in the write queue between the stop and the start. I open no CAN object and the whole process is performed at the network interface object level. The computer is a P3 at 850MHz.
I believe that a part of the delay may be due to the time it takes to write the frames on the queue. Without the stop/start action, (I guess) the first frame is sent on the bus immediately and the next frames follow as fast as possible. But when the board is stopped it must wait until it is started (i.e. all the 18 frames have been written) to send the first frame.
The driver may be faster with one board, but i
t is definitely slower when using four boards each driven by a separate thread. There is no document I could find to explain the changes between the versions, but I understand NI applied several patches to prevent some crashes in a heavily multi-threaded environment. One possibility could be they prevent concurent threads from running the driver at the same time to avoid reentrancy conflicts. I observe now that the CPU usage is around 60% when it used to stick at 100% with v2.1.2 and the process is a little bit slower (it went from 82s to 90s).

    Shoeb, hi.
Thanks for replying and apologies for my tardiness in responding. I have just completed a re-creation of my web page using CSS/HTML rather than XML/XSLT and now I find that when saving in MHT format the watermark/background image is saved, which is nice, but trying to save it as 'webpage complete' under 'save as' in the browser still does not work. (For those who are new to Firefox, MHT files are not supported by the browser, but using the FF extention UnMHT one can open such files and save web documents as MHT files, meaning no accompanying folder is required to properly view the file.)

  • Screen Variants and Special Purpose Ledgers

    Hi,
We have 2 company codes ACT and SCIN.Screen Variants and Special Purpose Ledgers In ACT.But now i need to do the same Screen Variants and Special Purpose Ledgers in the 2nd company code SCIN.
Now how to Check which are the Screen Variants and Special Purpose Ledgers of ACT company code? How can i copy them into 2nd company code SCIN?
Is it possible to copy Screen Variants and Special Purpose Ledgers or do i need to create them from the scratch?
    Kindly advice me
    Thanks
    Supriya

Are you talking about document entry screen variant?  If yes, check what is the indicator set for company code ACT in transaction OBY6.  Specify the same one for SCIN too, in OBY6.  Special purpose ledgers are not copied from company code to company code.  If you have them assigned to one company code (ACT), they are there in the system.  Just go to T Code GCL2 and assign SCIN also to those special purpose ledgers.

  • Difference between i5 and i7 cpu for photography and design purposes

I need to replace my old MBP and am not too familiar with tech specs concerning CPU and memory. I'm a photographer and use Adobe Lightroom and onOne Perfect Suite7. Working with images is my main goal. For video rendering and "heavy" stuff I have an iMac 27" i7. So a MacBook doesn't need to be a one in all solution.
I compared a MBA 13" all-in, with a MBP 15" and a MBP 13" Retina. All configured with 8GB Ram I get price offers which vary a lot between these three models. My question is there a significant difference between the different CPUs for photo editing and design purposes? I don't want to spend a heap of money since MBs are pricey enough.

Yes, on the big plus side of the non retina MBP is the possibility to tweak it a little by myself. I threw away the superdrives and replaced them with SSD drives for OSX and have second drives for all the data in my machines. CD and DVD is ancient storage technology anyway. Also did I upgrade RAM myself without paying Apple's ridiculous prices.
With the upgrade to the widescreen non glossy display, I think I will be set up properly. However, I will checkout those retina displays tomorrow, just to really know it.
But one question remains: Which CPU might be sufficient in the long run? I tend towards the 2,6GHz with 1GB RAM GPU
2,3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 512 MB GDDR5 RAM
      2,6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1 GB GDDR5 RAM [+ 200,00 €]
      2,7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1 GB GDDR5 RAM [+ 450,00 €]

  • PLEASE: How can I save my iphone texts and "notes" (not "the note") to my computer? I need them for reference and legal purposes. I have yet to find an app for this and iphone doesn't sync either one.

    Greetings!
I am brand new to using a Support Community -- I'm more of a in-person show me learner but...huge snowstorm and I don't want to
to make an appointment at a Genius Bar, driving 15 miles, especially since I asked about this once before  and no one there was able to
give me an "official" Apple answer .  I do hope I am posting my question (and plea) for help properly.
LOL when I had my first lil' Mac Classic, over 20 years ago, my participation in the techno world was soooo much easier, simpler.
My current situation: I have soooo many texts on my iphone and I haven't deleted many because I need the information contained in them for
future reference and for legal purposes.  I would really like to find a means and way to save them other than on the phone itself.
I've done searches for various apps yet I'm not finding what I think I would need.  It appears Apple does not sync the texts between the iphone and
    my MacBook Pro.
Also I often use Notes for quick journaling as well as copy and pasting from other apps, usually inspirational, that I know I am going to want
to read again (always with credit noted ) and these too are taking up space.  If I could email myself I would but the apps I'm using don't offer that and each day there is a new commentary -- no way to go "back".
I am currently using OS 10.6.8 on my MacBook -- my disc drive doesn't work and upgrading has to be done at the Apple Store so I don't have iCloud yet.
My iphone 4  is running OS 6.0.1 -- no upgrade until I'm at a wifi connection -- most of the time I'm using my personal hotspot.
I'm a very busy self-employed Nana raising grandchildren and a great-grandchild.  I don't have a lot of time and certainly not enough for copying and pasting every text as well as note and emailing it to myself.  There has got to be a better, easier way, yes?
I'd be most appreciative of any and all assistance here.  Oh, someone mentioned to me I ought to get a "stick" for downloading but were talking
in a language I'm still learning.
    Thank you!
    Melinda

  • New G/L Concept and Special purpose ledger

    Hi Gurus,
What is the new G/L Concept ?
What is the purpose of new G/Lconcept?
And what is the special purpose ledger ?
Please give me the proper answer for above questions,
    Regards,
    Baltha

    Hi Batha,
    General Ledger Accounting (FI-GL) (New)
The central task of G/L accounting is to provide a comprehensive picture of external accounting and accounts. Recording all business transactions (primary postings as well as settlements from internal accounting) in a software system that is fully integrated with all the other operational areas of a company ensures that the accounting data is always complete and accurate.
Beyond fulfilling the legal requirements, General Ledger Accounting also fulfills other requirements for modern accounting:
    - Parallel Accounting
General Ledger Accounting allows you to perform parallel accounting by managing several parallel ledgers for different accounting principles.
    - Integration of Legal and Management Reporting
In General Ledger Accounting, you can perform internal management reporting in parallel with legal reporting. For this purpose, the Profit Center Accounting functions are integrated with General Ledger Accounting. Furthermore, you can generate financial statements for any dimension (such as profit center).
    - Segment Reporting
General Ledger Accounting supports the segment reports required by the accounting principles IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). For this purpose, General Ledger Accounting contains the Segment dimension.
    - Cost of Sales Accounting
You can perform cost of sales accounting in General Ledger Accounting. For this purpose, General Ledger Accounting contains the Functional Area dimension.
    Features
General Ledger Accounting comprises the following functions for entering and evaluating posting data:
    - Choice between group level or company level
    - Automatic and simultaneous posting of all subledger items in the appropriate general ledger accounts (reconciliation accounts)
    - Simultaneous updating of the parallel general ledgers and of the cost accounting areas
    - Real-time evaluation of and reporting on current posting data, in the form of account displays, financial statements with different balance sheet versions, and additional analyses.
In this way, General Ledger Accounting automatically serves as a complete record of all business transactions. It is the central and up-to-date component for reporting. Individual transactions can be checked at any time in real time by displaying the original documents, line items, and monthly debits and credits at various levels such as:
    - Account information
    - Journals
    - Totals/transaction figures
    - Balance sheet/profit and loss evaluations
However, SAP still offers to choose between the New GL and the old Classic GL way of accounting.
There are certain limitations in the new GL and clients are adopting to the new gl concept.

  • Plan Values and Special Purpose Ledger, KP97

Hi, I have copied plan values using KP97 for respected versions. What do I need to do to get same values in Special Purpose Ledger (SPL)?
Thanks in advance for your time.
    Regards,

    Hi,
The link between CO-OM-planning and FI-SL-planning on the CO-OM-side is a flag in the plan version customizing (transaction OKEV):
You can activate the "plan integration" per version and year. Also there are some customizing on FI-SL-side to handle the business transactions and ledgers.
If the CO-OM-flag is active, the system tries to transfer the plan data to the ledger(s). During this transfer, the fiscal year variants of CO-OM and FI-SL are compared because FI-SL has to know where to put the values.
Refer note 433367 which is valid for ERP 2004 (& ERP 2005) which provides a modification if different variants are involved but the number of periods are the same.
    regards

  • I recently downloaded an entire album. There is a deluxe edition of the album, but it doesnt say I've downloaded any songs o the deluxe edition, while another album by the same artist counts my purchases to both the regular and deluxe.Purposeful or not?

The album Im having trouble with is The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. Is this on purpose, or a glitch?

Yes i've tried all of that. I've turned it all the way on and off and erased all of my music and put it back on and nothing works. And with the breaking up CDs and putting into compilation categories i have already fixed all of that stuff. It's fine it just doesn't show up in the list of artists. I can find the album in the songs category and the albums category it's just it doesn't show tha name of the artist. All of the other albums that i downloaded before i updated my itunes to th most recent update are fine. It's just the two that i downloaded afterwards. Thanks for trying though.

  • How Internationalized I18N WebDynpro application and its purpose

    plzhelp me
    ur rgds
    manoj

    Hi,
    Purpose
The purpose of internationalization is to adapt existing applications so that they can be used
in several languages and countries (or regions) without the need for changes to the source
code. Specifically, at SAP internationalization deals with the issue of text strings hard-coded
in applications. Using the internationalization tools, you can store these text strings separately
from the application source code, in a format that can be processed in the standard
    translation system.
    Internationalizing Web Dynpro projects
When you save metadata in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, all declarative texts are
stored in the resource bundle belonging to that Web Dynpro project. Other texts, including
error messages, can be created in the Message Editor. These texts are then added to this
resource bundle. The SAP translation process is then responsible for translating languagespecific
texts stored in the resource bundles for each Web Dynpro project.
    Regards,
    Anil.

  • Instal Oracle Portal for testing and learning purpose on 2 machines

I have two PCs. One is runing Windows XP, one Linux Fedora Core 4. I'd like to usem them for geting to know Oracle Portal. Linux as Aplication Server, Win as DB server.
I can't seem to find minimum HW requirements for Portal. Linux machine is 256MB RAM, Pentium II 350 MHz. As I said, it doesn't have to run fast. it just has to run for the beggining. Then I can decide whether to use it and think of the real configuration for business purposes.
    Please advise.

RAM requirement for Infrastructure is 1GB - this included an Oracle 10G database for identity management. RAM requirement for Middle Tier (Portal and Wireless) is an additional 1GB.
Requirements to run both on one host is (according to Oracle) 1.5GB.
I have it all on a single host here (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9) with only 1GB ram (It's an Athlon 1.4) so there is some flexibility here. You may get away with the CPU, but I think you need a lot more RAM.
Your athlon Windows Machine could do it all. I have a working 10G Application Server on a 2GHz Pentium M laptop (2 GB RAM). If you don't start it up automatically every time the OS starts then you will have plenty of resources.
Since 10G AS also includes 10G DB then only one machine is all you would need.
    Good luck
