Need a script to limit choices in Drop Down Lists

Anyone have a script the can do this inside of a fillable PDF?
Dropdown box one they will select one of 19 languages. Then in a second drop down box we want to show only the products available in the language so they can select the one product they want.
Can this be done?

A simple process I just don't know - how to make one drop down list dependent on another.

Drop-Down List One has 17 office names. Drop-Down List Two has sub-office names associated with each of the 17 main offices. If user selects Office 3 from Drop Down List One, only sub-offices associated with Office 3 should appear as choices in Drop-Down List Two. How do I do that?

Dynamically populating data for the drop down lists

I am trying to have a mutually dependent drop down lists in my page.
This is what I am trying to do -
Lets consider there are 3 drop down lists (Choice - Select Many). A simple example lists are - Country, State, County. Now users selects country from drop down, I need to get all the states for that country as the data for the "State" drop down list. Then user selects a state, I need to populate data for the "County" drop down list.
I am trying to do this. I added a ValueChangeListener method in the backing bean and tried to add this on the "Select Many Choice" component. But the method is never fired. I tried to change few other properties like - "immediate", "Auto Submit". but method is not fired.The method in backing bean is as shown below -

System.out.println("Value changed ==>> "+event.getNewValue().toString());
Need some help on how to do this.

How can i redirect 5 choice options from a drop down list into 5 separate text fields?

I have a number of drop down lists which push one of 5 choices to a text field on another page.
I want to be able to push each choice from one drop down field to a separate field, so that it is not possible to duplicate the drop down choice.
The resulting page is going to be locked.
What script do I need to use to send each of the five choices specifically to five separate text fields?

I've had a look at the sample script you posted. I'm not sure how to make it work with the form I'm creating. (I sent it to you earlier.) Would you mind setting one of the fields up on my form so that I can get an idea of how to then push the choices set up on the "visible on screen only" to the textfields which are locked on the visible page? Do i lock the fields in the same way?
Will I need to create a new script for each of the arrays I'll be creating? for example, myScript1, myScript2, my Script3....

In a fillable PDF form, can I have choose to have NO default choice in a drop down list... so that a user is REQUIRED to make selection instead?
I've set the question as "required", but the default answer makes this useless.
I want to make sure people actively answer this question rather than accidentally missing it, and me ending up with the default rather than the correct answer!

Similar to what you suggested, I utlimately opted to put a question mark "?" as the default answer - it's just a pity this doesn't address my need for users to be "required" to answer the question.

I am creating a template with drop down menus in Numbers. I want to be able to insert options into the middle of my list at a later date if I need to, but I can only insert at the end of the drop down list. Is there a different program I could be using?

I need to be able to add in more options into my drop down list in Numbers at a later time, not only at the bottom but say in the middle of the list. Should I be using a different program that can allow this to work? Thank you!

In plus i have four parameters with searchlight options, the problem is when i select "Finance" from DEPT2 and in the next selection level i'm seeing all the departments "Accounting,Asset Management and Bridge Dsgn Insp Hyd" insted of just "Accounting". What i want is if i select a department in DEPT2, in the next drop down list(DEPT3) i want to see only the departement corresponding to the one i selected in dept2. Please need help.

First of all you need to be using Discoverer 10g or 11g Plus not 9.0.4. Assuming you have the right version you need to present the parameters in the correct order. You can change the order on the parameters screen by selecting Tools | Parameters from the toolbar. You then use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to place them in the right order so that DEPT1 is offered first, followed by DEPT2, then DEPT3 and then DEPT4.
Next, you need to check the radion button on the bottom of the right-hand side that allows linking of parameters then you make DEPT2 dependent upon DEPT1, with DEPT3 dependent upon DEPT2 and so on.
While this works without hierarchies it works best when you have a hierarchy in place and even better when there is a composite index on the 4 items.

My problem is, I added a field on a screen as a drop down list box and passed all the values to it. Everything is fine. But I need to display the field like if there are no input values to be used by the user, the user should be able to enter some value manually which is not in the list. I'm unable to get this facility. Plzz Help me out.

Input Masks and Single Choice Fields (drop down menu) Suggestions

Here's a few suggestions - I hope this is the right place to post these...
1. I would like to suggest a pre-filled state single choice field (drop down menu) to be used to get address information. Or better yet a way to import a csv file to fill the preset fields for an option box.
2. Input masks that force users to enter the data in the format you prefer. (000) 000-0000
3. Ability to enable or disable options depending on other choices.
4. Option for a list of numbers say 1 thru 100 and as people pick a registration (car number in my case) that choice cannot be picked again by another user for that form. Load values from a table that can be picked several times or only once could work in both my suggestions.

Omitting drop down lists if a certain drop choice is chosen

I have 5 drop down lists that have data binding to populate a text field with number values (12-34-567-89012-34). There is one choice in the first drop down list that will populate the entire numbered sequence. If that drop down choice is chosen, I would like the next 4 drop downs to be skipped. How can I do this?

Something like this should work.
The attached form has three drop-downs (dd1, dd2 and dd3) each with a default value of "00". On dd1 exit event I check if "01" was chosen. If so I set dd2 and dd3 access to "protected" and their values to "00".

I need help with drop down lists

I have a form that does not have lots of space and I want to use drop down lists to fill in specific information that describes site conditions. The problem I have is that the drop down list is only set up for a single line and that is not enough space for what I want in the drop down list. In other words, I have items that are several sentences. I have seen some descriptions of creating a drop down list that then fills in a text box that has multiple lines. Unfortunately, that is not an ideal solution for me. I just want the drop down list to select a single phrase. Here is an example of what I want to be able to select in the drop down.
The water heater spilled flue gases in excess of 5 minutes under worst case conditions. The combusiton testing was completed with in 30 days of the invoice submittal.
The form does not allow me to create a field that goes all the way across the page so it needs to look something like this:

I have three items that are very similar in length and text for each drop down. There are 9 drop downs right now. I am using the drop downs to fill in a form that is used by several people and I want to keep things as simple as possible. Associated with the drop down already is a check box. When the check box is checked, it fills in a text box with a score (1 point, 5 points, etc). That score then tallys for a total with all the other scores in another text box. Using a drop box to fill in a text box is just getting to busy and than I have to distinguish each drop down item so it is clear which text you are selecting.

Need a drop down list for cost center group

I need to add the cost center group selection option to my program. I have added it to the selection options of my program and I would like to have a drop down list on this field. I have looked at the t-code KS13 and I am thinking that this is what I need. I am not sure if this is a search help or something else. if this is a search help, is it possible to use the same search help in my program? can some please let me know how I would do this in my program?   possibly a code example?

Value need to select from the drop down list & should be save under Variant

My requirement is that i need to display two values in drop down list of a selection screen. Between two values , one value will be display as a default value. During program execution user can choose any value from drop down list as per requirement and
he can save this in a Variant.
Next time if he choose data from Variant, but still he will be able to select any value from drop down list.
For that i am using FM VRM_SET_VALUES. How can i make the changes to meet my requirement using this function module or any other suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Drop Down List Function Statement needed

Hello People,
Happy Thursday for Starters. Its Almost Friday. :-)
I have a drop down list, I would like to have a different subform populate with each value on the subform. example
1 = Bob Subform
2 = Holly Subform
And so on.
I have 22 values in the list and each need to populate a different subform. can Someone help me out real fast? I'd like to clean this up for the long weekend.

You will have to create all 22 subforms that could possibly be displayed. Mark them all as hidden. Then when the user makes a selection in the drop down, on the exit event of your dropdown your code woudl look something like this:
xfa.resolveNode("xfa.form.form1.Page1." + DropDown.rawValue (appropriate subform name)".presence = "visible"
Make sure you set up your form as a fowed form. If the user decides to select a different name after the 1st one is displayed, then you can hide any subforms that are showing or simply make the appropriate subform visiable as well. It will be added after the last one.

I am trying to use the data drop-down list from the custom library. I enter the name of my data connection and the other 2 variables in quotes when they are initialized, just like the example says to, but it still doesn't work. Anyone have any thoughts?

I am having trouble (sleepless nights) with populating a drop-down list from an Access Database. The result is: I only get the first record from the data connection. So the connection works but I cannot go through the other records. Maybe there is an other way to do this.
I am trying to selectively fill a form with data from an MS-access database.
I hope someone can help me.
