Need advice or help on creating a opt-in flash banner!

Hey everyone, Im a beginner in flash and need help creating a opt-in banner in flash. the banner has two fields, name and e-mail, so when information is entered it goes to an .xls or .csv file on a server. i dont know how to start the process. I need help more with the programming part. If anybody has ideas or to lead me in the right direction, i will appreciated. Thank you

yes its a linux server with full access. u prob know how it work but what i want is to make a banner were the user enters its name and e-mail and then that information goes to the server and its saved as an excel or csv file. i hope it dont sound confusing. thanks

Need to learn how to create a slideshow in Flash

Hello All,
I'm new to Flash and I need to learn how to do a slideshow with exactly the same features as can be found in this link:

Just like at the link above, it needs to play through the slides automatically once the page is loaded, each slide needs to link to a specific URL, and I need controls similar to the boxes at the bottom so the viewer can click on any specific slide they wish to view (I'd like to have numbers in the boxes though). The transitions don't have to slide across like this. If a fade is easier, that would be fine.
Since I've looked online, but can't find any tutorials for doing this in Flash Professional, I think I'll pick up a book on Flash. There are some online tutorials that are close but nothing that is exactly what I'm looking for.
I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend a particular book that covers creating this type of slide show with the links and controls exactly as I need it to be. I see these types of slide shows on a lot of sites now, so I'm hoping that maybe someone else on this forum has had to learn how to do this and can recommend a book they used?
I was looking at Adobe Flash Professional CS5 Classroom in a Book and it looked like it may be what I'm after, but I am rather cautious, as I don't want to end up with instructions that are close to what I am looking for, but not quite right.
Actually, I thought I'd be able to do this fairly easily with Flash Catalyst, so I updated to Adobe CS5 Design Premium. I found that Flash Catalyst can be used to create a slide show like this, but unfortunately it won't play automatically when the page loads and the viewer has to manually click through the slides, which is not what I need. I could be wrong, but from what I've read, I need Flash Builder to add code so the slide show will play automatically if I create it in Flash Catalyst. Since it's not an option for me to buy more software at this time, I've decided to learn how to do this in Flash Professional.
I really want to learn how to do this. I expect to go on and create more using Flash, but for now I just REALLY need to figure this slide show out.
If anyone can help out, I'd really appreciate it!

i'm sorry. it is a huge work to type this and will be confusing as hell. i'm already up to 1 full word page of explanation. Though i am able to do it, explaning it in full lengh is ... well.. very hard. Way harder than it is to make your flash itself.
I can however point you to some element you should read about how to make them:
- How to use timeline in flash cs4
- how to create a button in flash cs4
- How to make "CLASSIC TWEEN" in flash cs4
- How to use ActionScript 2 ( AS2) basic command like : GetUrl, Gotoandplay, Stop and how to put those script in the right location. ( AS2 allow you to put script directly on the button itself. however it is best to put it in the Action Layer that you will have to build in the timeline.
- How to import thing in library.
keep in mind that what you want to make is mostly a Logic probleme...
- Image 1 click = GetURL X,
- After Y time, Switch image 1 to image 2 with animation. Do the same for the button.
- If you click on button 1 while being on image 3, you have to set all the reverse animation in the timeline, and use a lot of Gotoandplay.

Need advice on how to create report

I'm not sure how to do this, so I'm asking advice from the apex gods...
here is the issue, I have two tables that I need to combine info from. not an issue in its self. I can do that. but here is the issue. in Table A I have some data like disc_id, title, theids, etc.. Table B contains fullname, theid, emplid
now in table A the column 'theids' is populated from apex as a multi select list. so the values in the column is something like 48;3;88
it got these id numbers from the Table B query (lov popup) that returns theid of the person chosen.
now I have to create a report that will be used in a excel download and what they want is one line per disc_id and they want the more useful 'emplid' in the field where 'theids' are at. that is instead of :
disc_id Title theids
101 Test 48;3;88
they want:
disc_id Title Theids
101 test N33456,N3457,N43562
so I'm kind of stuck, I can figure out how to write a sql using instr to get something like this:
101 test N33456
101 test N3457
etc
but that is not what they want. so I'm thinking I need to create a package to do this and return some sort of values. the problem is I can't figure out how I can substitute the 48;3;88 for N33456,N3457,N43562
I'm still new at this pl/sql and apex stuff so sorry if this seems to have some obvious answer.

this report screen has no fields. there are no :P#_ type values to pull. I'm writing a report screen using a report template.
all the data I need for the report exists within the table. I just need to display it the way they want.
I could do just a:
select *
from my_table
and it would create the report just fine. the only issue is one of the columns would have 48:3:88 in the field. which to a person reading the report means little. so i have no apex fields to pull.
I was trying to write a pl/sql function that would substitute those delimited values with meaningful data. but when I do I get multiple rows and I can't have that. so my choices so far I see are..
1) create the report with a simple select leaving the data as is
2) create report that has multiple rows of data where each instr value now has the correct names (some have 2 some have 5, big list to read of dups)
3) create a package that populates a temporary table with the data I need then select on that table to get the report.
right now I'm thinking #3 is the only way to get what I want. By the way your examples would be a great help in doing that I can already see that I can use some of them to create a temp table with that data.
what I was hoping for was some option that I don't understand or missed that a more experienced person would know. but its looking grim.

Logic Pro + Node + Studio Setup, Need Advice, Please Help.

Hello everyone.
Ive just recently bought Logic 7.1 for my Quad PowerMac G5, and Im loving it!
Im going to build a studio in my garden (yup, im no pro). And I was thinking of purchasing a PowerBook for the studio and offload all processing and storage to my Quad machine (located in my study room in the house).
Im also considering purchasing another PowerMac G5 as for my server, and I would like to setup the server to also process Logic data and storage. Is this possible? Would i need to buy Xsan?
Another question, can I use more than 1 PowerMac G5 for Logic Pro? Also, how do I setup a Node? And in order for the Node to work do I need to purchase more Logic Pro USB Keys?
You may be wondering why am I going to purchase a PowerBook for the studio, well the answer is, i don't feel its safe to have a very expensive machine in studio, don't want it to get damaged by environment such as damage or theft, plus i spend alot of time studying.
One more thing, I have a PowerBook G4 and IMac G5, can i also setup Nodes on these machines aswell?
Any input would be brilliant. Also, your suggestions on studio setup would be also welcome.

You won't need Xsan. I would test things out before getting too far into the idea. Your host should really be the strongest computer, all 3rd party, EXS, etc..plugins are not nodeable. You can use more than 1 node but as I see it your bottleneck would be the PBook. You can use regular file sharing just fine for this. You will need 1 USB key for each computer running Logic, the Node app requires no key. Therefore, you can run Logic on your book and 3 nodes with 1 key if you like. I would encourage you to use an iMac G5 as opposed to a Pbook if you really want to flex Logic muscle, which from the sounds of it, you intend to. iMac G5s are even cheaper than the Pbooks. Another thing to consider is some people have had no luck setting up Nodes-I've never had problems with it but there are some out there, maybe they're weird, maybe I am-but don't be 100% reliant on Nodes all the time until you have proven that in practice.

HELP! Need advice to help make my macbook work!

My brother spilt a splash of lemonade onto the keyboard of my macbook. He dried it up quickly, and turned it off. Since then i have taken the battery out and have left to dry. I have tried to turn it back on, but nothing works! Can anybody help me? Or suggest what else i can do?

Applecare does not come free with your Macbook but you do have one years warranty from date of purchase. Apple will see when you bought your MB if you registered it online.
So i'd get it looked at asap. Applecare is an extended 2 years of warranty that you have to buy separately - but it has to be bought within the first year of you owning your MB.

Bt infinty speed need advice please help !!!

so where to begin
i am reciving 80/20 megabits per second down my line according to the bt engineer
but my computer isn't getting according too both speedtest.net and bt speedtester
i am using cat5 (ethernet cable) and i am using the gigaport on the hub with no other devices
my computer is the hp g5460uk its only a year old with i3 prcosser
also tryed the power cycling the modem and home hub 3
getting speed off 38/13 mbps

Don't cycle the modem at all often ~ not more than once a day. That might be interpreted as errors and cause a slow-down in your speed. Cycling (or disconnecting/reconnecting) the router is no problem.
Try http://mcslhr.visualware.com/myspeed/myspeed_line_capspeed.html You will probably find that the upload is quite a bit closer to the 20Mb maximum.
Still doesn't explain your slow download. A different port may help as bullitt says. Also, on the 'speed' tab of the tester above, let us know both the 'achieved download speed' (which is an average) and the 'of about' speed (which is the fastest burst. That might give an better indication of the cause of the problem (but I'm afraid probably won't).

Creating a Flash Banner

I have just been asked to create a very simple Flash Banner -
468 x 60 px which I understand is a standard size for a flash
banner.
To be included on the banner are a couple of small images and
also 3 or 4 lines of the text and a link to a website.
Not being a Flash Guru I am struggling to complete this
banner so I am wondering if there might ba a Flash Guru who could
be interested in assisting.
Its 7am in Sydney and I have to have it completed by 11am
Sydney time.

Need help to create report with jpeg/gif image

Hello,
I need help with creating a form with a special jpeg/gif seal. I never done this Java. Until now, I created all forms with ansi C++ with HP escape characters to draw lines, boxs, and text. This form will contain boxes which is populated with database information read from a text file.
Since this form contains a special seal on the upper right, I don't think it can be done with old fashion ansi C++. How can I create a form with Java and create it as a simple exe to just print the form to a specified printer.

I am creating a form with boxes (lines and text). What is special about this form is that it has an image jpeg or gif at the top right corner. Is is a state department seal. Up to this form, I had used ansi C++ and print out escape HP character to print out the lines, boxes, and text. I have no idea how to print out the image. I am new to JAVA and only 1 class in it. Is there sample code out there to create this type of form with the image? I need a starting point.

I've one list "Purchase Order" where I'm storing the data for purchase order details below are

Order No, Order Date, Part No, Part Qty, Delivery Date, Delivery Qty, Balance Qty.
Now in above list I'm storing the Purchase order details to check Order Qty and Balance Qty for every part
no and this list is working fine.
Now my requirement is to create one more list to issue the Part No from available Balance Qty in above List "Purchase Order".
So I thought to create new list with below details (Please suggest me if you have other idea also I can use
only SharePoint OutofBox feature or SharePoint Designer 2013):-
List Name = "Issue Order"
Issue No, Part No, Balance Qty, Issue Qty, Issue Date, Remaining Balance Qty OR Stock Qty
So in List Name "Issue Order" once user will select "Part No" the "Balance Qty" will show the available Qty (from Purchase Order
List). And once he enter Qty in "Issue Qty" column it will show the remaining Qty in "Remaining Balance Qty OR Stock Qty" column.
Also "Remaining Balance Qty OR Stock Qty" will get update in "Balance Qty" column in first list "Purchase Order" list so next time
when user will issue the Qty from "Issue Order" he will get the correct Qty for Part No.
Need your help to create workflow for List "Issue Order" so user can issue the items from this list
and balance qty will update accordingly in List Name = Purchase Order. So next time when user will issue the "Part No" he will get correct quantity.

For the Point# 1, per my understanding, there are two columns in the list2, both columns are getting values from list1. In List2, when user select a value for the
“Part No”, you want the “Balance Qty” column to be populated automatically.
As there is no such OOTB feature can meet this requirement, custom code using JavaScript would be required.

Need Help in creating this trigger

I need your help to create this trigger. I need to set the default fl in this table depending on various conditions:
If there is only one indvl with end date as null then set the default_pk column for that indvl as 'Y'
ELSE
If there are multiple indvl_pks in this table with NULL end date then set the default_fl column to 'Y' for the indvl_pk with the earliest start date .
ELSE if there are multiple indvls with same start date then set the dflt_fl to 'Y' with the minimum br_pk
I am unable to get this to work due to the mutating trigger problem.
For example in this one rows with emplt_pk with 1001 and 1003 will be set to 'Y'.
