Need clarification: Vision W. Folder structure quest

Hello all,
I am about an inch away from buying the Vision W and I have to make sure of this before I do it. I have a very detailed and organized music dri've. Like many, I have it by Artist\Album\#Track - Artist - Title.mp3 . ( I already know this thing doesn't handle OGG grrr) But I also have all my tags done manually by me. I do not purchase music, I only copy my own CD's so I know every single song on my media dri've.
I like to be able to "mirror" my music folder structure on my portable. I do not care if the PMP reads the tags as I have my tags done the way I want them. I just want to be perfectly clear that I can use my file manager to manage this player as well as my collection.
I have read questions like this in many threads, but no one has stated clearly (to me at least) if this is possible. I gotta admit that I am really hopeful because this thing looks incredible.
Thanks in advance for any help you give,
Paul

  • Vision M folder view questi

    Hi All,
Firstly apologies if this has been asked before.
My problem is this: I've just transferred all my music from my PC to my Vision M. The music on the PC was stored in folders named as of the artist and subfolders within that would be each album by that artist.
After the transfer this still appears to be the case if I view the 'music' folder of the player using the Vision M media exporer, however if I look at the player itself using the 'Artists' list the player lists a seperate entry if there's more than one composer of songs on an album.
For example instead of one folder called 'Prince' containing a subfolder called 'grafitti Bridge' the list has 'Prince' -> 'Grafitti Bridge' containing all bar two of the songs in it. Another artist is listed as 'The Time' -> 'Grafitti Bridge' and then lists the two songs on the album written by them.
I find this not only confusing but annoying and time consuming too. Is there any way to change this at all or have I done something I shouldn't have while transferring the files etc.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Harry.

I've downloaded MediaMonkey but I'm not clear about tagging songs and making changes, if there are any tips in getting started in terms of what I need to do to get my songs back in order I'd be most grateful; I don't want to have a stab at it and make things worse!
    Thanks!
    Harry.

  • My images are still in the catalog, but the Folder name has disappeared. I need to get the folder back into my structure with the images in place

Help: I have a very well defined folder structure. Folder are located in a Master location and organized by State. Inside of these are my master RAW file folders organized by location. For example: West Virginia > BIRI_RAW_2012, BLFA_RAW_2013, NERI_RAW_2013, etc. After I set up the masterful following a shoot, I go to LR and import the images. At one time I inadvertently imported the NERI_RAW_2013 masterful set as a subset of something else and it was not appearing in my LR Module in the organization I prefer. So I went to my master folders on my drive and moved the NERI file into the West Virginia state folder. When I went back to LR, as expected the NERI folder was grey with a question mark. So I right clicked to find the files and relink, and it did not work. The folder name disappeared. The RAW files are still in the catalog and show up in a missing photos search. I can't reimport because they are already there. I just need to restore my folder structure and get the images back to the right spot.

So I right clicked to find the files and relink, and it did not work. The folder name disappeared.
It didn't disappear, it moved (because you told Lightroom to move it). It moved from the incorrect folder location, to the new folder location. Please look in the new folder, in whatever location it is in, not in the old folder and the old location, and you will find the photos.

  • Creating categories / hierarchial folder structure

    HI,
I have created a query based taxonomy. What I find is the classification happens with same name as taxonomy name. If I need to add a folder structure for the classification to happen, how should it be done.
The documentation says"Now create the categories of the taxonomy manually in the form of individual folders. You do this in the Category Browser iView (Content Manager -->repositories --> Taxonomies). Name the folders and create a new folder hierarchy targeted to your needs."
However, I do not find that path. Please advise where and how exactly is this done.
    Thanks and regards,
    Arun

    Hi Arun,
let me just give u the steps for the same:
    1) Create an index(classification) which will point to the repository created by you.In the Taxonomy specify a 'Query Based' Taxonomy.
    2) Go to Content Management> Classification>Taxonomies. Open the folder(the taxonomy which you have created). Within that you will find another folder(the index which you have specified).Within this folder, create the folders(the required folder structure for classification).
    3) Go to Content Management> Classification>Taxonomy Query Builder.Select your taxonomy and accordingly build the query as per your needs.
    4) Once you have built the queries, go to actual path of that particular folder in Content Admin-> km content and upload a file which is in accordance with the built-queries so that the file will be classfied.
    5) Now go to Content Management> Classification>Taxonomies and you will be able to see the file in the required folder(once it has been indexed).

  • Cloning a folder structure and metadata

    Hi,
A client needs a complex hierarchical folder structure to store documents against projects in Webcenter Content 11.1.1.8. There will be many new projects being created on an ongoing basis so I created a template for copying. Project level metadata is entered against the top level folder and propagated but each of the child levels needs to have one of the fields set to a unique metadata value - essentially the type of documents in that folder (the folder name will not work).
    I have two problems:-
    1) When I copy the template folder, the metadata is not copied so it is necessary to re-enter the values for all the lower levels - since there are about 50 they obviously don't want to do that
    2) The users must not be able to change the folder structure in any way but they must be able to create a new one from a template by copying it. (the admin people will not be doing it) I haven't been able to work out a security group model that gives create access but prevents new folders being create or existing ones being moved.
I think this will require some automation initiated from inside WCC and ideally could be initiated from the application that manages project creation.
Can anyone please advise on the best way to do this, does it have to be RIDC or is there something simpler?
    Thanks,
    M

I am not suggesting anything yet, except taking a look on the standard functionality (folders migration), which might be close to your needs, but still too far (it will definitely not prevent users from changing the folder's structure).
RIDC is a way to call WCC's services from a Remote Client (R and C from RIDC). If you decide for a customization, you can do (most likely) everything server-side, so you will be calling the same services, but from a custom component. In this case I'd recommend you to go through the tutorial - it goes from a simple helloworld program to more complex tasks (unfortunately, no folders), but it should educate you how to find information you need to do other components.

  • Muse Folder Structure

I am building an intranet site in Muse. It links to hundreds of PDFs. I need a more complex folder structure to keep them organized. Will Muse ever allow sub-folders to exist inside the assets folder?

Yep, it's been my main feature request since Muse was in initial beta - not just within the assets folder, they need to allow for folder creation in the root as well.

I have several pdf files in my computer which are organized in folders. I want to transfer them to IBooks (in my Ipad) and keep the folder structure I use in my computer. Is it possible to do it? Do I need any other app?

By design, the organizer (and any other database management systems) is there to prevent you from duplicating your media files. The catalog management allows you to have the same image in different categories or albums. Duplication in different folders is to be absolutely avoided.
The same image file can have multiple tags like 'family', 'vacations', 'birthdays' and be present in three different albums with the same names. On obvious advantage is less disk space. Another one with your present folder system is that if you edit one of your duplicates, the other ones are unchanged.
I don't see an easy way to make your present folder structure simplified for the organizer ...

  • Need to batch convert PDF to RTF while maintaining original folder structure

I'm using Acrobat Pro 9 and I need a way to batch convert PDF files to RTF while maintaining the original folder structure.  So for instance, I might get a set of interview transcripts that were conducted with members of 1000 randomly selected households in 3 different cities.  Something like this, where the words in all caps are folder names:
    BOSTON
           HH1001
                PERSON-1A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
                PERSON-2A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
           HH1002
                PERSON-1A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
                PERSON-2A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
                PERSON-1C
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
    DETROIT
           HH2001
                PERSON-1A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
                PERSON-2A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
           HH2002
                PERSON-1A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
                PERSON-2A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
                PERSON-1C
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
As u can see, the folder structure can get quite complicated and it's important to keep it the same.  Is there any way I can batch convert without having to open all 1000 files at once (which would crash the computer) or without having to add each subfolder to the Export Multiple Files window?
I also tried saving the original folders and files in a portfolio and then converting the portfolio, but that puts all the converted files in a single folder.

    Bernd Alheit wrote:
For the output location choose 'Same Folder as Original(s)'
Yes, I've done that many times.  It doesn't put them in the correct folder structure, it just puts all the new files in the highest-level folder.

  • How can I batch move files to the same folder structure in a different location?

    Hi,
I recently had an issue with my iTunes Library so I used the Organize Library feature to have iTunes organise my library.  What happened was that it put all of my music in a folder called 'Music' on my external hard drive, whereas previously it was not in a folder at all, e.g.
BEFORE: External Hard Drive / Abba / Greatest Hits / Mama Mia.m4a
AFTER: External Hard Drive / Music / Abba / Greatest Hits / Mama Mia.m4a
I don't have any particular issue with the updated folder structure, except that I had copies of the artwork for each album in my album folders, and these weren't moved when the audio files were moved/consolidated/organised.  So I need to find a way of moving all of the artwork to the new folders, e.g.
External Hard Drive / Abba / Greatest Hits / folder.jpg
    needs to become:
    External Hard Drive / Music / Abba / Greatest Hits / folder.jpg
I have to do this for 3,000+ albums, and I have multiple artwork files for some albums, so I am hoping that there is a way of doing this using a batch/automated method of some kind, but I haven't been able to turn up anything yet.
    Can someone help with this?
    Thanks,
    Nick

You can make a smart playlist containing episodes of both series and play from that. Podcasts are linked together by the URL they are served from so merging ongoing series isn't really practical.

  • How can I batch Save For Web and maintain a multilevel folder structure?

First... I am using an old version of Photoshop.... 6.0 to be exact.  If your answer is to buy the newer versions, I respectfully say I know that's AN answer, but I'm looking for something that will work with my setup.  The version we have works just fine for the very few things we need it for, and we use new versions of InDesign and Acrobat for all else.
    So here's the challenge:
We have a weekly magazine featuring 1,200 plus photos of cars for sale, each saved in a folder named for the sales rep, week and day.  I must maintain these folder structure throughout the process, as the files names are duplicated by cameras and across reps.  So I cannot dump all batch converted pics into one single folder, yet I need to reduce the Quality setting which I find when completing a Save As in Photoshop.
So I want to batch convert all the photos in multiple folders, some 3 folders deep, all at once....  reduce to 8 inches across, change to 72dpi, and reduce the quality slider to 5, which creates a nice 60-90K file.  BUT.... it wants to save all of them in a particular folder.  I need to just overwrite the original file with the new smaller one.... or save the new small version into the same folder the big one is in, but have it work with the "include all sub-folders" option in batch.
    A sample File system .... 4513 Photos - Color <day of week> (3 folders) - <disk number><rep>Color (20 folders) - actual photos.
After converting, we push up the final level of folder to our website and that organization allows us to use them there the way we need.  The uploading to the site and batch functions are done 3 to 4 times per week.... on different days.
Is there a way to reduce the quality (compression) of the jpgs that does not require the creation of a new file in a particular folder, or is there a way to have the resulting file just drop back into the folders and subfolders during a batch function?  I just can't figure this out!
As an alternative, what other programs might do this?

You should be able to just use the html output of the Export for Web function and, if the video's converted correctly, just swap the file names at the appropriate places. Have you tried renaming VisualHub's output to what the Export for Web html wants, then placing it in the proper location?
I'm not aware of a way to batch create the html files, but if I had to, I'd probably look at automator to see if I could figure out it's text manipulation options.

  • WEIRD! AVCHD folder structure saved on HD appears different in Mountain Lion?

I saved all my old SD card contents fully onto an external hard drive.
Since saving I have upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.
Today I opened  the saved SD cards to find that the folder structure had altered dramatically.
It appears to be simplified and the "Private" folder is no longer a folder but a QT type file which when double-clicked opens in QT Player.
All the clips appear to be there and capable of being used but everything is drastically different.
Any idea what has happened  .  .  .  .  is it ML related?

There seems to be no way of importing AVCHD video without copying it.
When it's in the camera you need to copy it but if it's stored on a HD there is no need but you are given no choice.

  • SharePoint List Filter to narrow a folder structure

    Hello,
The company I work for has a document library containing folders for each of their hundreds of clients.  The current process now is to load all of the folders in alphabetical order in order so that the users can scroll through and find the correct client
relatively quickly.  This takes longer than it should considering how many folders need to load.
I was trying to utilize the SharePoint List Filter to pull the Title column so the users could filter based on the name and we wouldn't need to pull all of the data each time the library was opened, but it seems that the title and name columns don't hold
their connection to the list.  Each time I attempt to set the connections and then use the filter, I get the "This filter is not connected" error.
Is it possible to use this web part in this manner (or is there another web part that will work) or should I suggest moving to meta data instead of a folder structure if they want speed of use?
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
Based on your description, my understanding is that you want to you want filter the document library by the title column so that the users could filter based on the name and don’t need to pull all of the data each time the library was opened.
    Refer to the following steps:
Open your document library-> choose Export to Excel->in excel, click insert PivotTable,
create a pivot table in Excel -> use  Report filters
To filter the title column->save it and upload it to a document library
Then create a new page in SharePoint  and add the Excel Web Access web part and configure it to display your workbook, (or you can add the Excel Web Access web part in your document library and configure it to display your workbook) Now
you can filter the document library by the title column.
Here is a link about how to Create a pivot table in Excel 2010:

  • How to change location of files (folder structure to storing in iPhoto lib)

    I need help.
I thought I was smart, but as is always the case, I find out that I am not
I did not trust iPhoto at first. So I retained my images in my 8 years of folder structure (by year and then subfolders of months).
My lib is getting large, 7000 plus images, and when importing images (I do not have the setting for imported images to be stored to iPhoto Lib) and wanting to delete some, I find it more work than is necessary.
Bottom line: Can someone tell me if there is a way to change the setting (of course there is) but also to reimport, or move, my images that are already in iPhoto (but are really just previews referencing to my folder structure) so that they will reside in the iPhoto Lib?
When I import it finds duplicates...if I say do not import then it does not go any further...but if I say "yes, import duplicates" then it brings them in as duplicates...which means I have two copies, but only one retains all of the keywords etc.
Another bottom line: I want to retain my keywords in my current library, but move all images into the iPhoto lib instead of my folder structure. I can do this from this date forward, but I want to get the entire lib to be this way.
    Help?

read through this thread - it should help you

  • SAP Netweaver Portal - Folder structure and report publishing strategy

    Hi gurus,
I'm working on a project in which we are publishing BW reports in SAP Netweaver Portal (prior to this, we were using SAP Bex Browser) organizing it by Department (workset, 2nd lvl of navigation), Business Processes (workset, 3rd lvl of navigation) and "iview types" (transactions, queries, dashboards and so on). On 1st level we have a workset simply called "Reports".
For each PFCG role we have on BW (ABAP Server), we created a portal role and defined which of the higher navigation tiers is visible to users (delta-linking the top level navigation worksets to the portal role and setting visible accordingly) and then we assigned Portal roles to the appropriated Group (PFCG role) so all users that have access to certain PFCG role can have access to the corresponding Portal role.
    For example:
In BW (ABAP) we have a PFCG Role: Sales PMR Analysis - Administrator, which grants access to Sales Infoproviders, queries and data for PMR analysis. The user that have access to it, should be able to see:
    |Reports|
    |Sales Administration|
    v PMR Analysis
      > Web Queries
      > Transactions
      > Dashboards
      > Workbooks
In Portal we create a workset that has: "Reports" and under it, all Departments (Sales Administration, Financial, Services, Human Resources and so on) set as "not visible". We create a Portal role called PMR Analysis and add the Report/Departments workset, set Sales Administration as visible and add worksets/folders named PMR Analysis, Web queries, Transactions, etc, and all the corresponding iviews under it.
If we assign this new Portal role to the Group of the corresponding PFCG role, the user will see exactly as the example from above.
Pros: The users have a clean view of the reports he/she has access.
Cons: The users doesn't have a clear view of what is available in BW so he can request access. There might be some useful report lost in on of the hundreds of BW roles that he doesn't know it exist.
One of the options would be to grant visibility to ALL departments, business processes and iviews in Portal and let PFCG security roles control user access, but that might be confusing to have an overwhelming amount of links, making it hard to find what the user needs, specially during first access. Not to mention possible security breaches.
So, I'd like to know how other consultants are defining this kind of folder structure and report publishing strategy in Portal. Ideally we would like to be able to have:
    - Visibility of all existant reports even those that the user does not have acess (so he can learn that it exist and request access)
    - Clean view of reports, segmented by department and business processes.
    - Possibility to search for reports, even for those that the user does not have access.
I'd appreciate if you guys can share your experience on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Leandro

Cons: The users doesn't have a clear view of what is available in BW so he can request access. There might be some useful report lost in on of the hundreds of BW roles that he doesn't know it exist
This is not a refutation: your BW developers/consultants should be able to write reports, which points you in case of insufficent backend rights. EP is not designed to be familiar with ABAP security concept and cant take any influence at it.
One of the options would be to grant visibility to ALL departments, business processes and iviews in Portal and let PFCG security roles control user access, but that might be confusing to have an overwhelming amount of links, making it hard to find what the user needs, specially during first access. Yes, bad idea.
    - Visibility of all existant reports even those that the user does not have acess (so he can learn that it exist and request access)
As you already wrote on your own, this would be not good
    - Clean view of reports, segmented by department and business processes.
    - Possibility to search for reports, even for those that the user does not have access.
This is not covered by SAP, if you wanna provide that, develop it on your own.
    cheers

  • How do i get my folder structure in Lightroom to replicate my hard drive folder structure?

My issues is that post-import from Aperture, my folder structure in Lightroom does not match my folder structure on my hard-drive.  In particular, rather than be structured as in my hard-drive:
    2015 (folder)
    -> 2015-01-30 (sub folder)
    -> 2015-02-15 (sub folder)
    -> 2015-03-03 (sub folder)
All of the photo folders are listed individually as:
    2015-01-30
    2015-02-15
    2015-03-03
In addition, a number of folders have been created in the form 01a2a201aff9c8c684928629ea41221c0fa5930ab7 where no folder exists on my hard drive in this form and the image contains the right date meta data.
As I've got photos dating back to 2005 and a lot of different days taking photos, this is making the folders view unmanageable.
I completed the Aperture migration in two stages (as i did not have sufficient space to replicate images in move across to Lightroom)
    1.  Moved Aperture original images from being References to Managed (with the file structure above)
    2.  Then used the Lightroom plug in to import the library from Aperture (which has successfully copied across meta data and my folder structure + edits from Aperture)
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?  In particular:
    1) Adding in 2015 folder level to structure?
    2) Removing all off the 01a2a201aff9c8c684928629ea41221c0fa5930ab7 folders?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Joe

In the "folders" pane, right-click on the folder you see and select "show parent folder". Repeat as needed.
