Need content in table cell to scroll

I Need content in table cell to scroll, so the window stays a constant height. Help.

Google for 'scrollable DIV' or 'iframe'. Scrollable DIVs are better.

    Pasting content into table cell deletes existing content. Why?

    I'm not sure why you would expect something different. If you put something into a cell, then that is the contents of the cell. If you want to preserve the existing contents when pasting additional content, you don't want to paste into the cell, you want to paste into its contents.
    Select the cell, then click again to put the insertion point into the contents, then Paste.

  • Table cell formatting : please allow 'Horizontal autosizing' with 'at least' option like the vertical. Or is it in the pipeline already ?

    I suspect it has been asked by others, but can't find it in the archives. I need it for table cells with diagonals, and they need to fit like a glove.

    Hi,
    if the content is in a table cell (<td>), simply use valign="top" in the Region HTML table cell attributes.
    "Vertical align" is not intended to align text in a block, but an in-line component in another in-line component (for example a picture next to text).
    Maybe you have to play with margins.

  • Horizontal align center in table-cell

    Hello,
    I'm having a problem getting to horizontally align a div (schilderij) in another div (schilderijholder).
    This schilderij div has a height and width of 480px and has display: table-cell. The content of this div is an image, with different sizes on every page (there are multiple pages, it is some sort of photogallery). The images are nicely centered, horizontally and vertically, inside this div.
    The containing div (schilderijholder), has a width of 100% of it's containing block, which has a variable size
    The problem is, I cant get the schilderij div horizontally centered in the schilderijholder div.
    Here's the simplified code. If you need the whole code, I can post that too.
        <div class="leftWrapper" style="clear: none; float: left; width: 68%; height: 100%;">
        <div class="content" style="margin: 40 10 50 30;">
          <div id="schilderijholder" style="text-align: center; width: 100%; height: 100%;">
              <div id="schilderij" style=" height: 480px; width: 480px; text-align: center; vertical-align: middle; display: table-cell;">
                <img src="../Assets/Schilderijen/normal/01.jpg" width="399" height="480" align="center" />
                </div>
              </div>
            <div id="pageControl">
            <span class="left">
              <a href="schilderijen2.html"></a> </span>
              <span class="right">
              <a href="02.html">Volgende</a>
                </span>
              </div>
          </div>
         </div>
    What I've tried:
         - "margin: 0 auto;" on the schilderij div
         - "position: relative;" on the schilderijholder div and "position: absolute; left: 50%; margin-left: -240px;" on the schilderij div
    But these both don't work.
    Does anybody know a solution for this, or maybe has something to put me on the right way?
    Thanks in advance!

    Let's fix your code first:
    <div class="leftWrapper" style="float: left; width: 68%; height: 100%;">
        <div class="content" style="margin: 40px 10px 50px 30px;">
          <div id="schilderijholder" style="text-align: center; width: 100%; height: 100%;">
              <div id="schilderij" style=" height: 480px; width: 480px; text-align: center; vertical-align: middle; display: table-cell;">
                <img src="../Assets/Schilderijen/normal/01.jpg" width="399" height="480" align="center" />
                </div>
              </div>
            <div id="pageControl">
            <span class="left">
              <a href="schilderijen2.html"></a> </span>
              <span class="right">
              <a href="02.html">Volgende</a>
                </span>
              </div>
          </div>
         </div>
    Why do you need the div#schilderij at all?  Seems unnecessary to me.
    Then you would need the display:table-cell on the parent to this div, not on the div#schilderij, which has basically the same dimensions as the image.  But I think this is all too complicated.  Why not just this?
    <div class="leftWrapper" style="float: left; width: 68%;">
        <div class="content" style="margin: 40px 10px 50px 30px;">
          <div id="schilderijholder" style="text-align: center;">
                <img src="../Assets/Schilderijen/normal/01.jpg" width="399" height="480" align="center" />
                </div>
              </div>
            <div id="pageControl">
            <span class="left">
              <a href="schilderijen2.html"></a> </span>
              <span class="right">
              <a href="02.html">Volgende</a>
                </span>
              </div>
          </div>
         </div>

  • Straddled FM Table Cells Not Merged in WebHelp

    Using TCS2 on Win XP, generating WebHelp — my straddled table cells in FM are not merged in WebHelp.
    Is this a known problem, or is there a way to make this work?
    Thanks!

    Hi Mike,
    I'm confused to where you applied the vertical alignment. Normally, I would set this for the table cells and not the table.
    CSS has indeed an order in rendering: There is a point system for determining the CSS to apply. See http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/html-css-techniques/quick-tip-understanding-css-specific ity/ for a short introduction.
    And as an extra to the point system, the place where the styling is present, also determines the styling. Browsers use the following hierarchy (in descending order)
    User style sheet defined in the browser.
    Inline styling.
    Style block in page.
    External style sheet
    You can overwrite styling from a lower order using the !important declaration. You can use this to make sure that inline styling will not be able to overwrite styles from your style sheet. (Unless the inline styles use !important themselves.) Example:
    table.mytable td {
         vertical-align: middle !important;
    This will make all the content of table cells in the table with the class mytable to be vertically centered.

  • Vertical alignment in table cells not working in generated output

    Using RH9 WebHelp. I have created a simple table style. Because I could not find out how to make cell vertical alignment (top, center, bottom)  part of the style definition, I have been applying it manually to individual whole tables using the cell alignment properties.
    This worked fine for a while, but at some point I noticed that even though the tables look right in Design view, with top-aligned cells contents, it gets hosed in generating output and all tables now come with vertically centred cell contents even through the in-line formatting for top alignment is still there in the code.
    Any ideas?

  • I need a text field in a table cell to expand dynamically

    When I say expand I mean the whole cell has to grow as the content is entered into it, not just have a scroll bar present to contain the content, every new line should expand the table cell vertically. I've been looking all over and I can't seem to figure this one out, help?

    Turns out I just needed to search the forums better, here's a link to the thread with my solution:

  • JS/CS3 Move content to previous table cell

    I try to create a script that should find and cut a certain content of the cell and paste it to previous cell. For example $12,333.  The $ sign should be in the previous cell while the number should retain to its location. I am new in scripting and my script don't work that way. Please help.
    var myDoc =  app.activeDocument;
    app.findTextPreferences = app.changeTextPreferences = null;
    app.findTextPreferences.findWhat = '$';
    var myFound = myDoc.findText();
    for (i = myFound.length-1; i >= 0; i--)
    myFound[i].insertionPoints[0].select();
    myFound[i].insertionPoints[0].contents = "$";

    Avoid copying/cutting and pasting if you can. In your script it looks as if you don't need it. In a table, some text's parent is a cell. Cells have a parentColumn and a parentRow.
    for (i = myFound.length-1; i >= 0; i--)
        myCell = myFound[i].parent;
        myFound[i].characters[0].remove ();
        myCell.parentRow.cells [myCell.parentColumn.index-1].contents = "$";

  • Table cell scroll bar overflow- why doesnt it work?

    Hi everyone.
    Ok, im have an existing document/site:
    http://www.helenbwilson.com/helen-portfolio-1.html
    I want the table cell in the left to have a scroll bar (only
    with the height part). I want the "block" of the images to have a
    height of 400px. Now, I have tried to do this, and for the most
    part got it to work-in another document:
    http://www.helenbwilson.com/CSS-test-01.html
    I am trying to replicate, but I have absolutely no idea why
    its not working now.
    I applied a css style and I want the same type of scroll, so
    when there are more images, it can have a scroll bar.
    Can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong? If I am not being
    clear, please let me know.
    Any info would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    -psy

    I think you mean something like this:
    Put this in your head:
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
    .imageBlock {
    display: block;
    float: left;
    height: 400px;
    width: 250px;
    overflow: auto;
    background-color: #FF0000;
    -->
    </style>
    put this in your body:
    <div class="imageBlock">
    </div>
    If the table or other content you place inside your
    'imageBlock' div, is higher than 400 px, you'll get a vertical
    scrollbar.

  • Centering table cell content in panel grid

    How can I center the content of the cells in a table grid so it would end up something like this:
    <table>

    You can do that using stylesheet. You can look at the
    repeater demo example for ideas. The corresponding
    stylesheet class is components/web/stylesheet.css .
    Hope this helps.
    -JayashriI think we need more powerfull layout oriented components.
    XAML, XUL, ADF all of them have powerfull layout components library.
    Maybe it's time start working in this direction.
    I'm sure that JSF must provide in near future more powerfull layout related components library, no doubt here!
    After that it will be possible to remove from styles classes and jsp code everything that was used for layout.
    Layout components will take care about align components, preferred size and etc.
    We need minimize number of style classes.
    That possible if you will make them more universal.
    But no way to make universal style classes with layout related attributes inside them.
    Take a look on simple layout case:
    <s:row align="opposite" styleClass="footerPage">
         <h:outputText value="#{bundle.copyright}"/>
         <h:outputText value="#{bundle.terms}"/>
    </s:row>

    public RowRenderer() {
    super();

    public void encodeBegin(FacesContext context, UIComponent component) throws IOException {
    if (!component.isRendered())
    return;
    ResponseWriter writer = context.getResponseWriter();
    writer.startElement("div", component);
    writeIdAttributeIfNecessary(context, writer, component);
    String styleClass = (String) component.getAttributes().get("styleClass");
    if (styleClass != null) {
    writer.writeAttribute("class", styleClass, "styleClass");
    Util.renderPassThruAttributes(writer, component);
    public void encodeChildren(FacesContext context, UIComponent component) throws IOException {
    if (!component.isRendered())
    return;
    Iterator kids = null;
    String style = null;
    int i = 0;
    String align = (String) component.getAttributes().get("align");
    if (align == null) align = "start";
    if (null != (kids = getChildren(component))) {
    while (kids.hasNext()) {
    UIComponent child = (UIComponent) kids.next();
    if (!child.isRendered())continue;
    style = (String) child.getAttributes().get("style");
    style = (style != null) ? style + ";" : "";
    if ( (align == "start") || (align == "left"))
    style += "float: left;";
    else
    if ( (align == "end") || (align == "right"))
    style += "float: right;";
    else
    if (align == "opposite") {
    if ((i % 2) == 0)
    style += "float: left;";
    else
    style += "float: right;";
    child.getAttributes().put("style", style);
    encodeRecursive(context, child);

    writer.endElement("div");
    It's good idea in many layout situations to use tableless layout.
    Row component just simple demonstration how it work.
    There are some problems with implementation and using tableless layout
    but at least in some cases it's good choise.
    I'm ready to provide plenty suggestions in area of creating and using layout components.
    Just don't know if you have interest to discuss that matter.

  • Scrolling table cell -- request help

    Hi,
    I would like to make a scrollable table cell (about 300px wide and 400 px high) that can contain both images and text. The content of the cell needs to be scrollable.
    I am a more than a newbie but not very skilled in Dreamweaver CS3 on a PC. I have worked a bit with CSS.
    If someone could assist me, I would really appreciate it especially if you are able to point me to video tutorial in which this is demonstrated. I have a membership in both Lynda.com and Kelby Online Training but didn't see anything there on this subject.
    I have read many posts on "scrollable DIVs" on the forum but haven't been able to apply them successfully.
    I would appreciate anyone's assistance.
    Many thanks.

    Are you looking at adding a text box that can also contain pictures?
    Sounds almost like an overflow style in CSS.
    Something like this:

  • Table Cell Contents Disappears Please HELP!!!!

    PROBLEM: I have a different tables within different table cells in the Master table. One table per Master cell. Once I click on a table cell (0,0) and click on another table cell (1,1) the cell (0,0) blanks out. Likewise with other cells so that if I've click on all the cells in the Master Table and then clicked somewhere else all cell contents have disappeared.
    QUESTION: Do I need to call some UI refresh procedure????? I have a cell renderer which returns the table for each Master's Cell.
    I don't if this is clear but please help!
    Thanks

    Hi,
    the problem is that the DefaultCellEditor can't handle tables.
    So you have to write your CellEditor, which returns another table as Editor.
    class YourTableCellRenderer implements  TableCellRenderer{
        private  JTable table = new JTable();
        public Component getTableCellRendererComponent(JTable table,
                                                       Object value,
                                                       boolean isSelected,
                                                       boolean hasFocus,
                                                       int row,
                                                       int column){
             // set Data and Layout
             return table;
    }then set the Editor to your MasterTable (master) with.
    master.setCellEditor(TableCellEditor anEditor) or
    master.setDefaultEditor(Class columnClass,
                                 TableCellEditor editor);Hope this Helps.

  • Wrapping table cell contents

    Hi
    I have a requirement where i need to wrap my table cell contents.I have chekced all the properties of table but none serves my purpose.Kindly help in this direction.
    NWDS version : 7.3
    Server version : 7.3 SP02
    Thanks
    Monika

    Hi Monika
    Wrapping property is not available at table level.
    The individual columns header and content in the text views only you can wrap.
    If the table column cell editor is a Text View , then you can see the Wrapping property and you can change it to true for wrapping.. For column headers also you can set the property.
