Need for 2 vlan to ping to each other

Hi
On a 3750 I have configure a new vlan 114 and assigned it the adress 192.168.114.254, I've put  my port in trunk mode with with the other vlan wich is vlan 1 192.168.14.254. I would like for both network to ping each other, when I received a adress from the dchp I get 192.168.14.20/24 with the gateway 192.168.14.254
Thanks for your help

You will need to setup SVIs (Switched Virtual Interfaces) or connect the switch to a router so traffic between the two VLANs can be routed. Take a look at the following link for more info/explanation:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios/12_2/switch/configuration/guide/fswtch_c/xcfvl.html

  • PCs connecting to ME3400 Switch not pinging to each other!!

    hi,
We have a new ME-3400-24TS-A Switch. Its a 24 10/100 Mbps switch. But when we connect the two PCs on its any of the two ports ,they are not pinging to each other. Both the PCs are in the same Network.
basic switching is not happening.Kindly help me!!The IOS version is :S340XBT-12225SEG
Cisco ME 340X SERIES IOS METRO BASE W/O CRYPTO TAR

The ports in the same vlan don't do local switching per default on a ME3400. You have to enable local switching for a vlan with the commands "vlan xxx" and "uni-vlan community".
But, only 8 ports can be in the same vlan. So, maybe you have choose the wrong switch if you need a normal L2 switch. Normally, in Metro Ethernet you don't want local switching between user ports.
I hop this helps. Please rate all posts.

I have two location one is Delhi(IP-192.168.100.*) and another is Mumbai(IP-192.168.1.*) and both are connected by MPLS line and ping with each other.
We have one DC in Delhi location and domain name is CAPLDC and Delhi location all PC is member of this domain and working properly.
now i am trying join the Mumbai location PC with my Domain(CAPLDC) but they are not join with my DC and generate the error.
I have chek the DNS and nslookup all are correct but this is generate error.
Is this possible Mumbai location join with this Domain(CAPLDC)???
One more thing when i have created another DC with this name (papldc.com) then Mumbai location is joined properly.
Pls find the error message below and also find the attachment.
Note: This information is intended for a network administrator.  If you are not your network's administrator, notify the administrator that you received this information, which has been recorded in the file C:\Windows\debug\dcdiag.txt.
The domain name "capldc" might be a NetBIOS domain name.  If this is the case, verify that the domain name is properly registered with WINS.
If you are certain that the name is not a NetBIOS domain name, then the following information can help you troubleshoot your DNS configuration.
DNS was successfully queried for the service location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain controller for domain "capldc":
The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.capldc
The following domain controllers were identified by the query:
    capldcserver.capldc
    win-dyfq2poc88q.capldc
However no domain controllers could be contacted.
Common causes of this error include:
    - Host (A) or (AAAA) records that map the names of the domain controllers to their IP addresses are missing or contain incorrect addresses.
    - Domain controllers registered in DNS are not connected to the network or are not running.

Why are you using a single labeled domain? I would recommend renaming the domain name to be something like domain.com.
Please refer to the articles below to fix your current issue:

  • Anyconnect VPN peers cannot ping, RDP each other

I have an ASA5505 running ASA 8.3(1) and ASDM 7.1(1).  I have a remote access VPN set up and the remote access users are able to log in and access LAN resources.   I can ping the VPN peers from the remote LAN.    My problem that the VPN peers cannot ping (RDP, ectc..) each other.   Pinging one VPN peer from another reveals the following error in the ASA Log.

    Hi,
Seems to me that you could clean up the current NAT configuration a bit and make it a bit clearer.
I would suggest the following changes
    object network VPN-POOL
    subnet 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0
    object network LAN
    subnet 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0
    object-group network PAT-SOURCE
    network-object 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0
    network-object 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0
nat (inside, outside) source static LAN LAN destination static VPN-POOL VPN-POOL
    nat (outside,outside) 1 source static VPN-POOL VPN-POOL destination static VPN-POOL VPN-POOL
    nat (any,outside) after-auto source dynamic PAT-SOURCE interface
    The above should enable
Dynamic PAT for LAN and VPN users
NAT0 for the traffic between LAN and VPN
NAT0 for traffic between VPN users
You could then remove the previous NAT configurations. Naturally please do backup the configuration before doing the change if you wish to move back to the original configuration.
no nat (inside, any) source static any any destination static RAVPN RAVPN
    no nat  (inside,outside) source static NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.1.0_24  NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.1.0_24 destination static NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28  NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28
no nat (inside, outside) source static any any destination static NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28 NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28
    no object network obj_any
    no object network RAVPN
In the event that you dont want to change the configurations that much you might be fine just by adding this
    object network VPN-POOL
    subnet 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0
    nat (outside,outside) 1 source static VPN-POOL VPN-POOL destination static VPN-POOL VPN-POOL
But the other above configurations changes would make the current NAT configurations simpler and clearer to see each "nat" configurations purpose.

  • Is it possible for two admin setups to control each other?

    Hi,
I have the admin portion installed on mac pro that is specifically managing 3 workstations on a private subnet. I have installed the same ARD 3.2 I guess admin version on my Mac Pro. I want to be able to use ARD to connect to the admin console that is on my subnet and in turn be able to control the 3 clients.
I can see the admin console but it won't connect to it. And when I go over to that admin console and try to connect to my Mac, it won't.
Is there an issue with two admin console trying to connect? Does it have to be a admin/client relationship only?
    Thanks
    Greg

o I installed from our 10 server license pack.
Note that it's actually a 10 client license, not a 10 server license. As Templeton said, for each system on which you want to install the ARD administration application, you need to purchase a separate copy of ARD.
How do I get different serial numbers on each machine from the same license pack?
You don't. If you want to have the administrator application installed on two systems, you will need to purchase a second 10-client copy of ARD.

  • How to make 2 clients on same VLAN communicate to each other when tunnel-loop-prevention is enabled?

    Requirement:
How to make two clients on same VLAN communicate to each other when tunnel-loop-prevention is enabled on tunneled-node configuration at controller?
Whenever we enable tunnel-loop-prevention on controller while we configure tunneled-node, the communication between two tunneled-node client on same VLAN is blocked or dropped.
If the tunneled-node clients are of different VLANs then they can communicate between them even when the tunnel-loop-prevention is enabled on the controller.
    Solution:
To make two tunneled-node client on same VLAN to communicate between them, we need to enable "local-proxy-arp" for the interface VLAN on the controller.
Once it is enabled now the tunneled-node clients on same VLAN can communicate between each other.
    Configuration:
    To enable "local-proxy-arp":
Get to the interface of the VLAN on the controller
    Example :
    (config)#interface vlan 5
    (config)#ip local-proxy-arp
To enable tunnel loop prevention on controller

    1. First off, which line is line 88? Line numbers would be useful. Also, indenting your code properly would make it easier to read.
    2. Your 'while(!str.equalsIgnoreCase("close"))' will always fail with a NullPointerException because 'str' is initially set to null.
    3. Your 'while(true)' loop worries me. How does it exit? Relying on an exception is usually very bad practise.
    4. You are not handling SecurityExceptions. While it's unlikely to happen on your machine; it could easily happen on another.
    5. It might be worth indicating the actual exception thrown in your "Failed to accept client" message. accept() can throw three different types of IOException.
    6. All the threads you create will be called "New THREAD", which doesn't provide much value.

  • Two Macs don't see each other

Just bought a new Macbook and it's on the same subnet as my iMac. I have the firewall running in stealth mode on both machines. Neither one sees the other and Finder sidebar does not show any "shared" computers.
I'm assuming that I need to disable the firewalls for these two machines to see each other.
The question is: Once these two machines have located each other, will turning on the firewall in stealth mode shut down the sharing once more, or will it stay active?

Got it working. Disabled the firewalls, set up the sharing, set up the user accounts (different user names on different machines thanks to the Migration Assistant) and away it went. Re-established the firewalls and everything is cool.
Interesting how working on Macs changes ones thinking. I've become so used to everything just working well that I just slap things together without any advanced thinking -- on occasion that bites back. It didn't help that from a security standpoint, I had tightened down every nut I could find. If these had been Windows machines, I would've planned much more thoroughly and would have expected and anticipated trouble at every step of the way.
    Thanks

  • I need to make 3 vlans to ping one another

Hello I have a problem and I need to connect 3 different vlans that have a full class c address to each other. I am also using a spanning tree which I am allowed to use any address I like so I already set it up. Any help would be greatful. I am not really good packet tracer as I am using an example in my work :/
I added the file that I am using in the Packet tracer.

    Hi Jack,
A small correction on your DHCP scope configuration. It looks like you have configured wrong default gateway's on your DHCP scope.
    Your Current Configuration
    ip dhcp pool vlan5
    network 198.1.253.0 255.255.255.0
    default-router 195.1.253.254
    ip dhcp pool vlan10
    network 198.1.255.0 255.255.255.0
    default-router 195.1.255.254
    Modified DHCP Scope Configuration
    ip dhcp pool vlan5
    network 198.1.253.0 255.255.255.0
    default-router 198.1.253.254
    ip dhcp pool vlan10
    network 198.1.255.0 255.255.255.0
    default-router 198.1.255.254
Once you correct this verify the PC's are picking the correct gateway address and try pinging between the vlans. That should work.

    Yes you can!

I see people from different ages at my work and every month I need to count how many people from each age I've seen that month. How can I do to give the entries to numbers in a single cell and make numbers count them for me? The final result would be a spreadsheet telling there were 8 people from 20 to 39 years old, 14 peolple from 40 to 59 and so on...

This appears to be an 'input form' using 'Radio Buttons' to select the category. Neither of these features are supported in Numbers '09.
You can input the data on one table and summarize it on a second table, but the input table will continue to hold data for each event.
And by using the Reorganize button, you can hide all but two rows of that table to approximate the appearance and performance of an input form.
Here are the two tables, Data on the left and Summary on the right. Notes below.
The grey-filled columns in both tables are 'working' columns, and may be hidden (as shown in the image below).
    Data table:
D1 contains the word "TRUE" (in capital letters). (This row is always shown.)
D2 is empty, or may contain any value except "TRUE" (This row is always hidden under the Reorganize rule.)The rest of Row 2 of this table requires the data shown: a number outside the range to be counted (999), and two checkboxes, both checked.
D3 (and filled down the rest of column D):   =AND(OR(B2,C2),NOT(OR(B3,C3)))
The formula returns TRUE only for the first unused row in the table (ie. the first row for which neither checkbox has been checked)
    Summary table:
Column A contains labels for the age ranges to be counted.
Column B contains the same information in the form necessary for the formulas in columns C and D. They need a numeric value, and that value must be the largest acceptable value in the range to be counted.
C2 (and filled right to column D, then both filled down to row 5):
        =COUNTIFS(Data :: $A,"<="&$B,Data :: B,TRUE)-SUM(C$1:C1)
Two changes from the previous example:
COUNTIFS is used to separate the Native and Foreign counts as well as the age range to be counted.
The amount subtracted from each result is the SUM of the earlier results, and includes the text value in the first cell of the column (which is interpreted by SUM as a zero).
See note below regarding my earlier formula.
When the greyed columns are hidden and the checkbox in the Reorganize pane is checked, the two tables will appear as shown below:
Close the reorganize pane, and the 'data entry form' is ready to use.
To use, enter the age first, then check one of the boxes.
As soon as one box is checked, the row will be hidden, and the next (unused) row will be shown.
    Regards,
    Barry
Note regarding formula in my earlier post:
The earlier formula will give erroneous results as it subtracts only the count directly above it from its count of persons in the age range 0-n.
In E2 of that table, replace "-E1" with "-SUM(E1:E$1)
    Fill down to E8.
Ignore the instructions (in that post) following "Fill down to E8."

I'd think you have a Keychain problem (Keychain storing passwords and the likes).
When you are being asked, are you offered the checkbox, "Remember this password in my Keychain"? If so, check and see if it stops asking.

Settings-icloud-scroll to the bottom, select delete, if you want to keep the content select keep, otherwise it'll remove it. Then once it is done add the account information for the account you want on that phone.  Your apple ID in settings-store will remain the same and each device can still purchase/use content from that account.

  • Ports/vlan w/o need for acl

On a port or vlan that doesn't need acl filtering is it more effecient to have nothing or a single permit ip any any?  I understand that there's a default implied deny ip any any to block anything not allowed in a proceeding permit statement  but I assume that only applies if an acl is assigned so I would think if you're going to just permit ip any any in an acl with out any denying before it i's better not to waste any processor time running packets through an acl filter since there's nothing to be rejected anyway.

Hi Vini, if I interpret correctly, there is no need for an acess list as it just takes system resources for no need.
