  • How to Register a View in Oracle Applications

    Hi,
    I have created a Custom View and want it to see it in one of the BPA Pages. For this purpose I shall need to register the view in Oracle Applications.
    Can you please provide me clues to do so. I tried the Application Developer responsibility, there I can only query the view and not register them.
    Also if I try using backend I could get hold of Package AD_DD which registers a table. Any clues for registering the View would be welcome.
    Thanks

    Thanks for your response.
    Actually I need to show Sales Order Line No, Federal Id and a few other Fields on our Invoice. Now these are not available in Oracle Recievables view. So I was trying to create my own View.
    I created a View in database. Now I am trying to create a Data source and associate this (custom created) View to it. However my View is not showing in the Views List of Values.
    I am not sure whether I am doing it right. Can you please help me with this. Any pointers to a document which explains my requirement would be great.
    Thanks

  • Need Formatted html output from Xalan

    We use xalan xslt processor to convert
    xml document to html. Everything works
    fine, except the output is unformatted html.
    (ie. several HTML elements appear on the
    same line. Some lines are longer than 1000
    characters). This happens inspite of me
    specifying the HTML elements in different
    lines in the xsl.
    I would like to know if there is any way, I can generate formatted html output.
    Thanks

    have u tried
    <xsl:output indent="yes"/>
    in your stylesheet?

  • DATE format problem, migrating from Sybase to Oracle 9i

    Hi,
    We are in a process of migrating the database from Sybase to Oracle 9i, everything going fine except the data load of couple of tables.
    The workbench created the control file, data & related files to load the data into Oracle using the SQL*LOADER.
    But coule of data files having HH:MI:SS:xxx AM in the DATE field, which Oracle is failing while laoding the workbeck created the destination table with the column data type = DATE, so how to insert the milliseconds along the date like Mar 25 2004 12:00:00:000 AM
    Thanks

    In your control file for SQL*Loader, specify the timestamp with format like "Mon DD yyy hh:mi:ss:ff3AM".

  • I need to know the department column in Oracle Application

    Hi there:
    Can somebody tell me how can I get the employee department information from oracle application.
    I need to know the table name and column name.
    Thanks and regards,
    Zeeshan

    I think this is not the best forum, to ask such a question. One that deals with Oracle Applications would be better suited.
    Maybe have a look [url http://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=410]here. Not sure if it is the right one.

  • Migrating from Weblogic to Oracle Application Server 10g

    Hello,
    To respond to this post you will need some basic familiarity with Weblogic.
    I am currently using Weblogic Server 8.1.
    I have an admin machine which is on its own physical hardware, and multiple managed servers. The admin server is a single point of management for all of the managed servers. Each managed server lies on it's own physical hardware and are managed remotely from the admin server.
    Does Oracle Application Server have this type of architecture?
    Lets say I have salesApp.ear and I want to deploy it across multiple physical machines, where would I administer the various physical machines from, and how would I create an instance on each machine?
    Would it be an oc4j instance or an AS instance? What is the difference?

    Forget about this!
    You need a JEE5 server to work with 11g.
    In theory you can develop application for OAS 10.1.3.1 but you must be very very careful which components you use. One new component and you are not able to run it on OAS 10.1.3.1
    If you have to run your apps on OAS 10.1.3.1 stay with JDEV 10g.

    Hello,
    Did you copy the 2 JAR files in your /forms/java directory ?
    Did you add them to your /forms/server/formsweb.cfg file (archive_jini tag) ?
    As always when a Java Bean is in the game, display the Java Console at runtime to see if any error are raised.

  • Discoverer viewer without oracle application server

    Hi,
    has anybody heard, how to use the discoverer viewer with
    another application server (than oracle).
    since j2ee is a standard there schould be a way.
    our administrators will not look after another
    application server, just to get some reports.
    so i have to get it running on a non-oracle-application server (or worst case: choose another reporting tool)
    thanks,
    Udo

    Discoverer is available and ships as a component of Oracle Application Server. Oracle Application Server via Oracle HTTP Server provides a proxy capability to support other web servers such as Netscape iPlanet and Microsoft IIS. The proxy capability will enable client applications to directly route requests to their native web server and these then get routed to Oracle Application Server and the Oracle HTTP Server. For detailed information on support for these web servers please refer to Oracle Application Server documentation.

  • Oracle Portal Report - Formatting Excel output

    We are using Oracle Portal 10.1.4.1 and we are using the Locally built providers create new report function.
    The report data itself is working as expected. You click the report it prompts to open the excel file and it opens.
    We are attempting to find a way to better format what is passed to Excel.
    When we add header and footer information in the "Additinal PL/SQL" boxes it shows up on the HTML version of the report, but this does not however show up in the excel version. The excel version seems to be pretty much a raw dump of whatever columns and rows you selected.
    Is there a way to add a header or footer to what Oracle Portal outputs to excel?
    Thanks for the help!

    I remember seeing a Bug that formating conditions do not get saved for number and Date fields when sent to excel.
    That might be the cause.
    Thanx,
    Chetan.

  • Formatting Excel Cells from JSP

    Hello,
    I am outputting my resultset in excel. However, in the excel the cells are in a wrapped format. I was wondering if there is a way of changing the cell properties from the jsp itself so that it doesnt wrap. Below is my code snippet I use to ouput to excel.
    <%
         String error_date = request.getParameter("error_date");
         File filepath=new File("file.xls");
         response.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel");
         response.setHeader("Content-Disposition","inline; filename=" + filepath);
         response.setHeader("cache-control", "max-age=0");
    %>
    Anything I can do with the setHeader method or something that would enable me achieve my goal would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot All

    No, you would have to generate the file right in the first place rather than hoping JSP would have a tool to fix it up. Fact is, JSP doesn't know or care anything about Excel. It isn't even a good idea to use JSP to output Excel data.
    Edit: And no, there aren't any HTTP headers to fix up your Excel either. HTTP doesn't know or care anything about Excel either.

  • Formatting excel generated from PL/SQL

    Hi,
    My requirement is to generate an excel from PL/SQL which i was able to do from the the following code from Sanjeev. I was able to generate an excel but the data in the cells were all in formatted as 'general' i want date to formatted as 'date' and currency as 'currency'.
    I searched further and landed upon the following piece of code
    <Cell><Data ss:Type="DateTime">1928-06-25T00:00:00.000</Data></Cell>
    but even it was not helpful.
    Can anyone help me with this? Can this be achieved?
    Thanks,

    Would a simple CSV output file do the job?
    If so just concatenate your output together using commas, somthing like
    select column1||','||column2||','||column3

    Hi Vetsrini,
    We're on 10.1.3.4.1 and siebel 8.1.1.3 and when trying to open a report from within siebel in the output format EXCEL (selected from the parameter applet), it just opens the document in the browser.
    Is there a way to get it to open directly in Excel? I guess the reason is the file extension*.EXCEL, how could we get the extension to be in excel format (xls)?
    We don't want our users to have to do this themself.
    Regards,
    Hakan
