Need help Copying cd's cover art to eYe Pod Video

Hey all,
I have a quick question. Is there any way to get all the info on a music cd copied to the ipod easily? By this I mean the cds cover art. For example I download a u2 all that you cant leave behind cd and it is recognized by the database however it never shows the cd cover art. The only way I know of to get it is by looking for the picture online myself, saving it to my computer and then putting it on maually for each song in the album thats means doing it like 11-14 times per album and thats a big hassle. Is there any other way to do it? Or does apple just want you to have to buy the songs from them to make it easier? Also my 60gb ipod video came out of the box with only 55.7gb's is that normal? Thanks for all your help and god bless.

Hey I can help you with this one. First of all, yes your hard drive is formatted to 55.7gb of storage space the additional 4.3 gb is reserved for cache and software to work your ipod.
The bulk of your question regarding album art. I have a solution. Look up "iart", this software really has worked well for me. It even gives you lyrics for the tracks! It costs $10 though. Not too bad since it does all the work for you. Hope this helps.

  • Need help on how to a user can control a video clip using their mouse

    I need help. I've got a video clip of a rotating 3D
object(left to right) and i would like the user to be able to
control the rotation of the object using their mouse. I've looked
everywhere and i'm at a lost. Can anyone help me
Here is a link to what i'm trying to achieve:
    http://www.sun.com/servers/blades/6000/gallery/index.xml?p=1&s=2
I know they use Java but i'm sure this can be done in Flash.
    Thanks
    Ray

    Here are the instructions...
    Update firmware with DOS CD
To boot from CD you have to hold down the option key (<alt>) during startup. A HDD icon and a CD should appear on the gray screen. The HDD has the volume name written below and the CD is named Windows. Select the CD and boot to DOS.
Hit <ESC> to skip the README.TXT
Use PG UP/DOWN keys on an external keyboard to scroll through the readme, using arrow keys may lock DOS.
SeaFlash offers some options you should explore before performing the update. If you just want to do it ASAP then hit <D>.
Hit <L> to list compatible drives and FW version. (Column New FW version should state SD24, hit <ESC> to go back to main menu.)
Hit to scan your drive(s). (Shows your model and FW, <ESC> for main menu)
Finally hit <D> to update your Momentus XT to SD24. (takes about 15s to update)
    Power off your Mac.
-- Although it did made sense to what you are saying to just follow Seagate's instructions. But they only had instructions outside the realm of MS Windows is to burn it on a disk and run a cold boot to the disk drive. Otherwise if Seagate did provide detail instruction on how to install this then can you provide me a link?
    Thanks again....

  • Need help Music becomes voice cover??

Hi, just started using iMovie and finished my first project this weekend.
Though when I updated to iMovie'11 the music I added will not play!
I just realized that it is no longer added as music but as voice cover in my project. The wierd part is that one song still works and is added as music.
Can I change the voice cover (my mp3 song that has changed to voice cover) to "music" so that it will play again?
I tried to add the music all over but when I drag and drop the music file it automaticly is added as voice cover.
    Please help // Patrik

  • Need help copying Time Machine backups to new drive

I was attempting to move my Time Machine backups from one hard drive to a newer hard drive, by copying the Backups folder. It gets through the process of preparing the files to copy but then as it starts to copy the file I get an dialog error box saying that it can't convert one file and that I need to install a newer version of IWork. I don't have IWork installed on this computer, but I have used pages on the iCloud website. I have attached a screen shot showing the error. The copying stops at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed?

That usually works better than a Finder copy and is often faster.

  • Need help copying picture out of photoshop

I'm using Photoshop Elements and love it. I just finished editing my picture and saved it. Now I want to copy the picture so I can post in things like word or on websites. I also want to know how to make my picture size smaller. I looked things up and they never seemed to work. I tryed resizing it but no matter what I do I still won't go to under 50k so I can post it.
    Help?

I would suggest using Save For Web.

  • I need help copying a non-protected DVD to a format for a DVD player

I was given a DVD+R disc by a missionary which has an audio/video file on it which plays on my IMac with Snow Leopard but which will not play on my Magnavox
NB500MG1F Blu-Ray DVD player.  I rerecorded the disc on a compatible DVD-R for the DVD player, but it still won't play.  How can I copy the disc to make more copies to give to other people who are interested in the project?  There are no copyright considerations, as it was home-made by the missionary.
    Thanks!

If it was burned as a data DVD, you need to use a product such as iDVD to burn it as a video DVD. If you used the DVD Player to play the video, it's a video DVD. If you used the QuickTime Player, it's probably a data DVD.

  • Need help copying file into main configuration folder

I'm trying to create an extension for Dreamweaver CS3 and I need to place a DLL in the
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS3\configuration\SourceControl
folder of the actual application directory rather than a user directory. To do this I have the .mxi file and a javascript startup file. All attempts to place the DLL in the correct folder have resulted in the file being placed in the user directory. Most things work from the user directory but the SourceControl folder is an exception.
Is there a way I can force a file to be moved to the main SourceControl directory using the .mxi or in javascript? Or is there a way I can register my DLL some way or do something else to make it work? The API and e extension guide have not been useful.

Open iTunes without your phone connected. Then, as you connect iPhone to your computer, press and hold Command-Option (on a Mac) or Shift-Control (on a PC) until you see iPhone appear in the sidebar. This will prevent automatic synching. Then use the iTunes File Menu -> Transfer purchases from XXX's iPhone.
If you still gave problems, you can download your applications again. You have to click the "Buy" button and you will get the warning about your credit card being charged, but then you will be offered the chance to dowsnload again for free. • Just downloaded SQL Developer today, need help copy data

How do I import data from Oracle XE to an Oracle server by using SQL Developer?

Probably a better option would be use the export and import utilities provided with the database.
From within SQL*Developer you can export data as either a csv file (and then use sql*loader to load it), or as insert statements which you can run in in either sql*developer or sql*plus.
To export data in sql*developer, right-click on a table or a result set.
Search for Export Table Data in the help system

  • Need Help copying to a removeable drive

I am having problems in photoshop elements 9.0 when trying to copy files to a disc. The program will work one time correctly  and if I choose a group of new files to do it a second time, it consistently freezes. After clicking file/copy/move to removeable drive, the disc creation pop up screen comes up with the blue bar that says "writing disk" but the bar does not move at all and 0% is written. I then cancel the process as nothing is happening. When I click to confirm to cancel, the program freezes and I get a screen saying "Elements Organizer is not responding"  How can I resolve this without having to reinstall the program? I'd appreciate a clear and easily explained answer. Thanks so much!

Try changing to folder location view (click the Display button near top right) in Organizer.
Then select a batch of thumbnails and drag and drop to a folder on the external hard drive.

You may want to rethink your plan to use a Time Capsule disk for both Time Machine backups (if that's what you mean) and other data. By its design Time Machine will eventually consume all the space on that disk.
This Time Machine FAQ http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1964018 may have useful information for you.
Couldn't you continue to maintain your files on the Lacie device?

  • Need help placing photo image in laptop screen of a video...

I have footage that is both zooming and panning, and need a photo image to fit within the laptop screen space during the duration of the pan/zoom.  Should I use "Track Motion" accompanied with key-framing in 2D?  Does this make sense?  Is there an easier way to achieve this, or is that the way to go?
Here is a rough take of the clip of which I speak.  In reality, we will be placing the same image on both the HDTV and the laptop in the shot.  Hopefully, this will make what I have said above a little more clear.  Hope you can help.  Thanks much.

If you have CS4 then I would recommend using Mocha for AE (a planar tracking software from imagineers system that comes bundled with AE CS4). It's basically designed for the kinds of stuff you described. There are some helpfull tutorials on the imagineer systems's website:

  • Need Help! Encore/PRPro 5.5 Slideshows w/ stills & videos: Best workflow/settings?

Warning! Rookie here--I apologize ahead of time for the forthcoming dumb questions!
Gear: 4 month old iMac, 12GB RAM, Lion. CS5.5 Master Collection.
    First, my goals:
*Take 4-500 large DSLR stills (shot in 24MB RAW and JPEGs from 6-17 or so MBs with some Sony panorama shots sprinkled in) and 20 AVCHD/Sony HD videos (only 10 to 30 seconds long and labeled as ".MTS" files) and create a slideshow with the videos interspersed among the stills.
    *No audio, manual advance.
*Create high quality file from Blu-Ray setting for playback over Apple TV from iMac or iPad 3 to LED HDTV (1920 x 1080, I believe).
I've watched Lynda.com's tutorials regarding Encore CS.5 the past few days (watched the Premiere Pro course a while back for just a very short video DVD and I did OK--but no stills/no slideshow), but I'm quite confused and frustrated. For example, I tried to import the stills as assets and got an error message saying I didn't have the right software, leading to having to hit "return" for a few hundred error messages!
After lots of google searches and searching this forum, I surmised my files sizes are too large. OK, but that's about as far as I got for this stage. Then I saw Bill Hunt's article on workflow and about converting all stills to .psd files, so that may be next...?
But I would really like somebody to walk me through things that are still confusing given I am not familiar with all the terminology and things such as pixel/frame sizes etc.
Given my goals, what would be the best workflow/course of action? I don't need every detail given that I have the Lynda.com tutorials, e.g., I have some menus set up from a background image with text that I made in Photoshop and I get the linking procedure for creating buttons that work once the image is a item in Encore.
The main questions, I guess are:
    1. What should I do with with my stills to get them into Encore? Should I do as Bill says and make them .psd files? How do I then get Encore to accept them as assets? I'm really confused about the sizes to use during conversion--4:3 vs. 16:9 and/or 720 vs. 480 vs. HD sizes (1000 x 750?!). I gather this should be done in Photoshop, but not clear how, exactly. (My head's about to explode reading up on file types, sizes, pixels, for the slideshows with stills and videos blah, blah, blah....).
    2. How do I get my short videos into Encore? Do I create a timeline in Premiere Pro first? Should I create a timeline or sequence with both stills and videos in Premiere Pro and use the import sequence feature into Encore?
    3. Where are the stills and videos best interspersed--Encore or PRPro?
    4. Given Encore will only create slideshows of 99 stills, once I create multiple slideshows in the project panel, am I correct that I link to the second, third, etc. slideshows with "end actions" and the viewer will see a seamless transition? I plan on using some chapters for different sections of a 10 day vacation, so will there be any conflict with the multiple slideshow transitions?
Thanks so much for your help! This trip was a dream come true as I hadn't had a vacation in 12 years and I was finally able to take my now teenage boys on a proper wilderness adventure a few weeks ago! I would really like to be able to show everyone a nice slideshow and eventually give the boys a Blue-ray disc they will always have as a keepsake etc. In other words, lots of emotion wrapped up in this one.....thanks again!

    1. Your images are square pixels, Blu-ray (BD) is square pixels, keep your images square pixels when you resize them.  That means a Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR) of 1.0.  Fortunately, PS defaults to square pixels.  As for the frame size, the video will be the limiting factor if you want it interspersed with the stills.  Determine the frame size and frame rate of the video that was shot and use that as the basis for resizing your stills.  If you don't plan on doing any panning/zooming, then you resize your stills to match the video frame size (1920x1080 or 1280x720 are the likely choices).  If you plan on mild panning/zooming, then increase the size of the resized stills by roughly 30% in both dimensions.  More dramatic panning/zooming will require a larger increase in frame size; just don't go over 4000 pixels in either dimension.  And remember that video work makes any DPI or PPI value irrelevant.  The video frame size is exactly what it is, in pixels.  No more, no less.
    2. and 3. If you want video mixed in with stills, then you'll have to put them all together in a Premiere Pro timeline before sending them to Encore.  Unfortunately, that makes the manual advance feature you want problematic.  It can be done, sort of, but it probably won't work the way you expect.
    4. If you use Pr to create your stills/video timeline, there is no 99 slide limit.  Make the Pr timeline seamless and it will remain seamless in En.  If you do a slideshow in En, then moving from one 99-still slideshow to another will not be seamless.
NB: the key to your project will be planning.  Take and old-fashioned pencil and paper and layout how you want the audience to view the finished BD.  Do you want just the main program?  Do you want quick and dirty slideshows of just still images that they can access by menu?  And so on.  You can make *almost* any navigation scenario work in En, but you need to know beforehand how you want the audience to get from here to there and back again.

  • Captivate 7: Need help to diagnose background audio which increases suddenly mid-video.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hQ1GJpVQNU
I inserted a music file into the video background.  At 1:39 you'll hear the background music suddenly jump up in volume.
When I imported the audio file to the background, I edited it by adjusting the volume.  The volume was reduced appropriately in the preview, however, as you can hear, it jumps significantly.  There is nothing I can see either in the audio file - or in the other elements that may cause this.
I've tried deleting and re-importing and changing the volume using the  threshhold/ ratio settings (versus just the volume bar), but nothing changes that jump.
    Any help is appreciated!

Thanks for considering the problem! Unfortunately, as I stated above, the voiceover needs to be a background audio file that plays throughout the project. It's not possible to record audio-per-slide because of the structure of the video - and because I do a lot of editing of the audio files for 8-minute videos.
FYI - I was able to have a chat conversation with a support tech. Here is the transcript of that chat:
Anvinder: We have not tested the workflow of captivate 7 with yosemite so far.
Anvinder: You might find some inconsistencies.
AMANDA: So, is there no solution to this error?
AMANDA: Do I need to publish the entire project every single time I make a small change?
AMANDA: Has Captivate 8 shown this error in Yosemite?
Anvinder: In order to make the changes evident in the output  you need to publish the whole output.
Anvinder: Amanda, the best practice is to publish the whole project. We are in testing phase for the same. You can download the trial version of captivate 8 and work on it on yosemite.
If you have a suggestion for a better workflow for creating tutorial videos (ultimately published to YouTube) that need to include the following, please share!
    a voiceover
    heavily animated explanations of concepts
live screen capture of business processes in software
    Thanks!

  • Need help with 4-5 camera set up for audio/video podcast

Hey guys. I'm overseeing the podcast/audiobook studio construction for my company's new entertainment venture. It will ultimately be my job to produce the podcasts and audiobooks. The catch is that they also want to film the podcasts as well. I'm trying to find the most affordable set up that makes the editing/conversion process easiest for me on FCPX.
As you'll see I'm a bit all over the place. The essentials for what I'm looking for is
    1) The right Camcorder
    2) The most efficient way to record, edit and sync audio
What is the most affordable camcorder to use that works really well with FCPX? I've been hearing rumors that some aren't compatable and require a tedious conversion process. The Kodak Zi8 seems perfect because it shoots in 1080p and has a mic input, but I'm not sure if it works well with FCPX. Now, I don't know if the mic input is necessary. I was thinking the easiest way to automatically sync audio is by plugging the 4 mics into the camera's mic input and record that way. That should sync everything up automatically right? I also watched a tutorial on the multicam editing option in Final Cut and that seems perfect for this project. Do I need a mic input if I use this method? It seems like the syncing is super easy with the built in camera audio and the podcast audio files together.
I also would like to be able to record directly into the computer but don't know if that's possible. The process of taking 4-5 SD cards and uploading it after each shoot that way seems super tedious. I'm not sure if there is way to do that.
Another option would be for us to buy a video switcher but all the options seem so expensive. Anybody know of good hardware that'd work? That way I could edit on the go and if we want to make this a live ustream we can do so. I was also thinking about switcher software and using MIDI. Not sure if that is possible either.

Lets ignore whether you should be doing this, but, if they are requesting that you do it, have at it.
Although, the simplicity of this is mind boggling, for them not to do it...ah well, you're donating for a non profit, they are probably the cheapest game in town, and lost the sole employee who could scratch their backside...
Choice one, I dont recommend this one - File > Print booklet, 2 up saddle stitch. Flip back and forth using the Print Settings button at the bottom to orient the page layout and set paper size. Set the printer as Adobe PDF. Keep checking the Preview in the main Print Booklet dialog, I had to set a page range of 39 pages in a 40 page book for this to work last week.
Choice two - If you have set a 44 page document with bleeds, export to pdf, toggle "Use ducument bleeds", no crops. Place those reulting pdf's in a new 11 x 17, landscape doc, with appropriate bleeds. How you defined the bleeds in the 44 page document dictates how much fiddling you will have to do at the center (fold line) of the new 11 x 17 "imposed" document. (If your 44 page was not set as facing pages, you might have defind inside bleed to zero. If it was not set as a facing pages document, it references top, bottom, left and right bleeds) (The use of pdf for this is not necessary, you could just as easily place pages from the original InDesign file as pdf's) Setting a blue line/guide line at the center would help to crop in bleeding frames.
All above seems too simple, you are only needing to impose pages 22-23 for these steps btw.
@Scott Falkner - I knew I was being to wordy.
