Need help in saving an animation

I created a simple animation in Photoshop CS3 using just two frames. I have never tried animating anything before so if this question sounds stupid, it's just because after a couple hours of exploring every how-to on how to save and export, I am coming up with nothing that works. How do I save my 2-frame animation as a gif (or for that matter, anything) so that I can retain the animation? Although I can animate my file via the animation layer, when I save it as a gif, I get one flat saved image. Help. How do you save animations???????

It took a couple hours of research (!!!!!) but despite what every forum says, my animated gif could not be previewed in any browser. It always opened up as one unanimated image. I ended up uploading the saved gif to Photobucket and then copied the html link code into my blog post. I guess there is no way to preview a gif, you just have to trust it will work when you upload it to whatever. I wish I had known that. :-/

I need help with a button animation!

Hi,
I hope someone can help with a simple-looking problem which
nonetheless has me stumped!
I have a feeling that I've missed something obvious.
I've created a movie clip to act as a button (I've called it
"abs_button") and placed it on the stage.
My main movie has one frame.
Within the "abs_button" movie clip there are 5 layers.
Labels, actions, default button state, rollover state and rollout
state.
Technically, default button state, rollover state and rollout
state could be on the same layer as they don't overlap, but I've
given each animation its own layer for clarity.
FRAME 01.
Default button state is one frame with a graphic of the
button. Just a label at the start ("abs_up") and a "stop();" action
at the end.
FRAME 02 to 31.
Rollover state is a 30 frame animation. Label at start
("abs_over"), "stop()"; action at the end.
FRAME 32 to 62.
Rollout state is a 30 frame animation. Label at start
("abs_out"), "stop()"; action at the end.
All animations were achieved with tweens.
My initial "abs_button" code:

As it stands, the animation jumps to frame 1 of "abs_out" on

large on rollover and shrinks again on rollout.
I've tried for 2 days to solve this, but I clearly need help.
My experiments with variables simply didn't work.
I would be grateful if someone could tell me where I'm going
wrong!

Since the code is attached directly to the movieclip, you
don't have to
identify the clip. A gotoAndPlay() function takes a frame
number or a
frame label name as its argument, never the name of the clip

This is I got when google it:
you mean your trying to export a flash animation as an avi and your using movieclips???
if this is your case i have a very simple solution export it as a swf, now import that swf into a new file and export it as an avi all should be good.
The reason why flash doesnt export movie clips is because it has its own time and if your going to use a flash animation for video it should have only one timeline alone thats why movieclips dont work when you export it as an avi.
Now the reason why this works is because when you import the swf all teh animation are in the maintimeline so do it and post back your results good luck

Hi BW gurus,
I have a few doubts.
I developed few queries in the DEV and i transported to QA.
Since DEV was not having much data i could visualize the report(graphical report) if it meets my reporting specs.
So i made the query changes directly in the QA system, and i created a workbook,which contains plenty of Excel work and macros programming.Now my report is ready in QA.
These are my doubts
1.Can my queries and workbooks be transported to PROD without any problem from QA?
2.I tried to make the similar changes to the queries in DEV ,and i tried to save it,but i got an error on the Query Designer window stating that,the query cannot be saved due to a problem in the transport?
Tell me what are the ways to solve my problems

Hi Sam,
When you need to make any changes to any object BEx related or AWB objects, the changes have to be first made in the dev system and then transported to QA. If there is a difference between the QA and the dev system the transports might fail.
And as you already got the solution. Create a BEx Transport Request in Transport Connection and then make the changes to the query and save. Then you can transport the same to qa and prod without any issue.
How this helps.

I have an Ipad and was saving movies on it until it let me know that I was running out of space. I went in and purchased additional space on Icloud but now cannot figure out how to get things moved over to Icloud...help?!

iCloud storage space are meant mainly for backup purposes. You can't move your data from iPad to iCloud like other cloud storage like Dropbox or Box.net.
You need to clear up space from your iPad.
Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Delete what is not wanted

Need help with publishing as animated .gif

I'm having trouble publishing my project as an animated .gif. My project, which consists of two different animated movie clips, plays just fine when test it (Shift + Enter). But, when I go to publish it, the animations don't show up. The settings are exactly the same as with my other animated .gifs.

If you try to 'publish' as an app, and you use the words ebook or just book, the review teams are likely to reject and tell you to do a book instead, so be prepared to not call it any type of book and to deliver something that showcases the device and iOS as best as you can if you take that route...it's non-trivial, mostly, so be prepared to learn any skills you may not have yet need going in.
Look at the book 'Yellow Submarine' for what I consider a good example of a standard epub w/m'media. it can be done, but as noted, iBA is iPad only, so....good luck.

Need help with saving text

i,ve created frame with a JTable, and add new button.
every time i run project table gets empty, of course, that is normal, but i would like that when i tipe something in my table and press button, things i wrote in table get saved. lets say that the variable name of JTable is "table" and name of button "save". i'm not expert in java programing but i really need this code. could someone please be so generous and wrote that code for me? i need it till tomorrow :S

What you need is Serialization.
I did a quick google search and found this:

It basically allows you to save your object and load it later.
You could also save your stuff in plain text. Follow this tutorial to learn how, This is maybe a bit easier if you don't know what objects are.

NEED HELP OPENING SAVED ADOBE FILE

I had some important info saved on a disc (an adobe reader file). I hadn't tried opening it in a while but when I try opening it it says something about a file i/o error. Is there a solution or is the info lost? I don't know if it has anything to do with the different laptops because I remember being able to view it on my old laptop. Please help!

If you couldn't save it to your drive then it's probably a corrupt disk rather than a corrupt file.
As far as causes for corrupt files, there can be many causes. The disk could be corrupt because it wasn't formatted correctly (and your OS won't read it), it could be scratched, just a plain old bad disk (I test all of mine before sending them to anyone)...etc. Again, many reasons it could be bad.
Unfortunately, it sounds like you won't be able to save your file.

Need help with saving data

I recently started studying in IT at college, and I think I have the basics in Java programming, however we haven't
been taught how to save data in our apps, so everytime i close my app, I lose all changes.
I went through Sun's IO tutorial, as well as a few tutorials online and I made a small application to practice saving my
Objects, however I can't seem to get it to work. I was hoping someone could look at my code and tell me what seems

Need Help with Saved Drafts

I created a new page from exiting one...Edited it for new
content..Saved it as a draft...Opened the next day finding a
horrific corrupt looking ....The entire editable area within the
blue line and the line itself had shifted way below as in out of
the normal area. Could'nt resolve..started over...same steps..same
results.
Help!!!

This problem may be resolved..Website host/designer is making

Need help with saving file for printer

I am using Acrobat 9. I have a document with four pages. I need to save it in two files-- one file with p. 4 and 1 side by side to print on 11 x 17 paper, and the other file with p. 2 and 3 the same. The person printing does not have Acrobat so the pdf itself has to be formatted this way so they can print it. I can rearrange the pages, delete pages, and so forth, but I cannot get them to display side by side except in a "view" option.

background bit map (the cuts are all straight lines). Coming from
the Director world I would probably layer 2 copies of the
background, the top one with the letters cut, the bottom one whole.
I would then mask the top layer with an alpha channel and animate
the alpha channel to gradually reveal the cut. Is there a better
way to do this in Flash? Anyone have an open source example?
I’ve got the letters as curves in Illustrator if that helps.
