Need help making javascript thumbnail gallery function in javascript tab menu

Hello all,
I have implemented a css/javascript tab menu on one of my html pages thanks to Chris Coyier (http://css-tricks.com/learning-jquery-fading-menu-replacing-content/), and within one of the tabs, which I labeled GALLERY, I am trying to place a thumbnail gallery curtosy of Trent (http://www.twospy.com/galleriffic/).
Before trying to place it in the menu, I made the gallery on a seperate html page to make sure that I could get it to work.  It does. But when I place it in the menu it shows up on page load under the content of the first tab (labeled TOUR) and not in the gallery tab.  In addition, once I click on the "gallery" tab the other tabs stop showing their content.  I feel like I am missing something obvious. But I just can't figure out what.  If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Natalie

  • Need help making basic php gallery.

    Hi guys,
    Thanks for checking out my post...
    I want to create a gallery, using php, for a client site
    similar to the one at
    http://www.danwheldon.com/gallery.cfm
    where you click on a thumbnail and it refreshes the page with the
    larger image within the websites' layout and above the rest of the
    thumbnails.
    At the moment, my site has a template layout called main.php
    and I'm using a basic php query to bring up gallery.php
    (main.php?pagename=gallery) so the thumbnails are displayed in the
    template.
    How can I add another query to the links so that when you
    click on one of the thumbnails, it refreshes
    main.php?pagename=gallery with the enlarged image above the rest of
    the thumbnails?
    Thank you very much and I hope to hear from you.
    All the best,
    Mark

    Seb posted this the other day. I think it fits in with what
    you want and
    can be adapted.
    Someone asked. How are pages created like this:
    http://www.foo.com/fooing.php?id=10
    http://www.foo.com/fooing.php?id=20
    ANSWER:
    whatever is after the "?" is a variable ("id") and its value
    ("20").
    The variable value is retreived by PHP via the $_GET array:
    <?php
    $var = $_GET['id'];
    echo $var;
    ?>
    This will output the variable value (10 or 20).
    Then you can use these values to outuput different things:
    <?php
    $var = $_GET['id'];
    if ($var == 10){
    do_something();
    if ($var == 20){
    do_someting_else();
    ?>
    A typical example would be with an image gallery, each
    thumbnail would
    have a link to the same page, but with a different variable:
    <a href="big_image.php?id=10"><img
    src="thumb10.jpg"></a>
    so each thumbnail would open the same page, but in this page,
    the
    approperiate bigger image would be outputted buy PHP
    according to the
    variable:
    <?php
    $big_image = $_GET['id'].'.jpg';
    echo '<img src="'.$big_image.'">';
    ?>
    this will output:
    <img src="10.jpg">

  • Need help with 3D carousel gallery rotation to a specific angle

    Hi,
    I am making a 3d gallery, that has a menu underneath it. When clicking to a menu link, the gallery will rotate itself to a certain angle (photo) connected with the menu link. I am using FlashAndMaths 3D cylindrical gallery scripts (XML Customizable 3D Cylindrical Photo Gallery in Flash) as the base (as I couldn't find any free or neither payed 3d galleries that would have a menu connected to the carousel!).
    The function to rotate a carousel of thumbnails is the following:
    public function doRotate(ang:Number):void {
                if(isLoading || notReady){
                        return;
                if(!this.contains(container)){
                    return;
                var i:int;
                 for(i=0;i<numCols;i++){
                   colsVec[i].rotationY+=ang;
                   colsVec[i].rotationY=colsVec[i].rotationY%360;
                   if((colsVec[i].rotationY>90+diffAng && colsVec[i].rotationY<270-diffAng) || (colsVec[i].rotationY<-(90+diffAng) && colsVec[i].rotationY>-(270-diffAng))){
                          if(container.contains(colsVec[i])){
                              container.removeChild(colsVec[i]);
                         } else {
                                   if(!container.contains(colsVec[i])){
                                     container.addChild(colsVec[i]);
    This will rotate the carousel as an infinite loop. However - I need the function to stop at a certain angle e.g. 45% (and/or reset itself to 0%). Another option would be to stop the carousel at a certain thumbnail container.
    The function to create a carousel is here:
    thumbWidth=thumbsArray[0][0].width;
    thumbHeight=thumbsArray[0][0].height;
    colsVec=new Vector.<Column>();
    colHeight=thumbHeight*colLen+(colLen-1)*pxSpace;
    colWidth=thumbWidth;
    rad=galLoader.radius;
    angle=360/numCols;
    container=new Sprite();
    this.addChild(container);
    containerWidth=2*rad;
    vertAddOn=40;
    vertDrop=15;
    containerHeight=colHeight+vertAddOn;
    container.x=containerWidth/2;
    container.y=containerHeight/2+vertDrop;
    contMask=new Shape();
    this.addChild(contMask);
    contMask.x=container.x;
    contMask.y=container.y;
    prepContainer();
    diffAng=Math.round((Math.asin(rad/fL)*180/Math.PI)*1000)/1000;
    for(i=0;i<numCols;i++){
    colsVec[i]= new Column(thumbsArray[i],pxSpace,rad);
    container.addChild(colsVec[i]);
    colsVec[i].y=0;
    colsVec[i].x=0;
    colsVec[i].z=0;
    colsVec[i].rotationY=angle*i;
    if((colsVec[i].rotationY>90+diffAng && colsVec[i].rotationY<270-diffAng) || (colsVec[i].rotationY<-(90+diffAng) && colsVec[i].rotationY>-(270-diffAng))){
    if(container.contains(colsVec[i])){
    container.removeChild(colsVec[i]);
    } else {
    if(!container.contains(colsVec[i])){
    container.addChild(colsVec[i]);
    Could anyone help me as I'm out of ideas!

    Hi, well, unfortunately asking help from forums is my last option, there really isn't many people around anymore, who'd use Flash!
    Also, I couldn't find neither free or payed scripts or examples online, that could do this - so, it's just me and forums.
    I really do appreciate that you've tried to help me- I just need a bit clearer reference (as I'm just not really used to use AS), so that I could try to search and/or figure out how to solve that problem.
    By "call doRotate() and pass the difference between the current rotation and the desired rotation.", did you mean something like this:
    private function onEnter(e:Event):void {
    if (rotate){
    this.doRotate(1);
    if(    //so, here I should use something that would locate the desired position, so something like currentFrame or would you have any better ideas?
    // should I also add something like doRotate.stop(); here?
    this.removeEventlistener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,onEnter);
    Or am I going the wrong way?

  • Need help with this xml gallery !!!

    i have build a gallery but its very simple...... it takes images from xml file.
    i have attached all files in zip.
    i just want two things if anyone can help.
    first when i press next button it goes to next image but with no effect. it just displays next image ... i want to incorporate a sliding effect when the image is changed to another.
    and second i want to use autoplay feature.
    as soon as swf starts the images came one by one with difference of few seconds.
    thx in advance... i really need help in this....!

    You're welcome.
    I don't have an example to offer for the autorun.  You should be able to think it thru.  One key, as I mentioned is to preload all of the images first, that will allow for smooth playing of the show--no waiting for images to load between changes.  You can load them into empty movieclips and hide them (_viisible = false) until they are needed.  You could load them when called for, but you would have to put conditions on the displaying of things until the image loads, which will change when they are all loaded, so I recommend just loading them all first.
    For the timing you can use setInterval.  If something is going to be allowed to interupt the autorun, then you will need to make use of the clearInterval function as well, so that you stop the clock.
    Since you will be wanting to know when things are loaded, you will need to use the MovieClipLoader.loadClip method for loading the images instead of using loadMovie.  This is because the MovieClipLoader class supports having an event listener.  If you look in the help documents in the MovieClipLoader.addListener section, there is an example there that provides a fairly good complete overview of using the code.  The only difference is you'd be looking for the onLoadComplete event rather than the onLoadInit event.

  • DW8 - Need help with Flash Mirror Gallery by Flashdevelopment24

    I just purchased an image viewer called Flash Mirror Gallery by Flashdevelopment24:
    http://www.flashdevelopment24.com/extensions/flash_photo_gallery_06.aspx
    I use DW8. Unfortunately the wizard and the instructions are WAY beyond me. I can insert the object on my page but I have no clue how to import images into it, do I need to create separate thumbnails?, etc. Its a European company and the English isn't taht great either which doesn't help.I went through all their FAQs and examples and I don't have a clue.
    I'm doing something very simple, all I need are VERY simple directions on how to make this work. It would be best if there was a YouTube or other video tutorial available. I paid 45 buck for this and it useless to me right now. Help!

    Sorry can't help, don't know the product at all.
    If you are having problems with it, then it's best to contact the people you purchased it from no?  They should either help you with support issues, you you should get a refund if it doesn't work as expected.

  • I need help making a popup menu activate a customized lightbox for a digital magazine/publication.

    I'm not much of a programmer since my experience is in animation, but I need to make a popup window link to/activate a lightbox. I did well just to get the button to make the popup work since I have no programming experience! So now, on to something a little more complex for me! A button is basically supposed to bring up a menu (which I got to work) and the menu is supposed to have links that the user can click on to open up a lightbox similar to the one that opens up on the first click of this example: http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/e9dd9178?viewType=pubPreview#/e9dd9178/1
    These were the instructions I was given, but I'm not sure where to even place this code! Please help!
    For example for Brides/Target this looks like this:
    if (window.location.host.indexOf("brides.com") !== -1) {
                document.domain = "brides.com";
            $('.productImages1').click(function() {
                openLightbox("http://www.target.com/p/riedel-vivant-champagne-flutes-set-of-4/-/A-10077709#prodSlot=medi um_1_1&term=200-03-1024?ref=tgt_adv_XC&afid=d_brides&cpng=2013weddingregistry&DFA=1");
                trackEvent("show", {page: 19, id: 'A-10077709', name: 'riedel-vivant-champagne-flutes-set-of-4'});    //_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'Target Advertisment', 'Show', 'Page 19 - item 1']); });

    I was also given this information, but since I can't really read or write code, this means nothing to me. Is this something I can paste in the stages action panel or on the actual buttons that I'm wanting to call up the lightboxes? I like Edge because it seems to be easy and user friendly for creative/non-programmers like myself, but this is getting a bit complex for me. How can I go about this without having to code HTML5 from scratch?
    In the header of the HMTL file, you'll need to add a reference to the Zmags API.
    Example in Header
    <script src="//secure.api.viewer.zmags.com/widgets/iframe.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    Example with Javascript section:
    <script type="text/javascript">  // Opens the specified url in a lightbox, and applies the supplied css to it, if any; otherwising defaulting to the // standard width and height for the lightbox. To explicitly close the lightbox, call close() on the returned lightbox. function openLightbox(url, css) { return window.parent.parent.com.zmags.ps.widget.openLightbox(url, css || {"width": "100%", "max-width": 1010, "height": 780}); } // Shares the specified url on the given network, with optional title and image. This will automatically trigger // tracking of the shared url, so no need to do so here. function shareUrl(network, url, image, title) { return window.parent.parent.com.zmags.ps.widget.sharing.shareUrl('widget', network, url, title || 'Check out this product from Target', image); } // Tracks the logical action, e.g. "show", "overview" event, with the supplied arguments. The actual event action/label // formatting is handled by the Zavior configuration, and can have values injected, like if "args" = {page: 7, name: 'foo', id: 'bar', item: 1}, // a configured label can utilise these data like "${page}" and "${item}". function trackEvent(action, args) { if (!args) { args = {}; } return window.parent.parent.com.zmags.ps.widget.trackEvent("google_analytics", action, args); } if (window.location.host.indexOf("brides.com") !== -1) { document.domain = "brides.com"; } $('.productImages1').click(function() { openLightbox("http://www.target.com/p/giada-de-laurentiis-for-target-6-qt-cast-iron-dutch-oven/-/A-11992 552#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=11992552?ref=tgt_adv_XC&afid=d_brides&cpng=2013weddingregistr y&DFA=1"); trackEvent("show", {page: 8, id: 'A-11992552', name: 'giada-de-laurentiis-for-target-6-qt-cast-iron-dutch-oven'}); //_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'Target Advertisment', 'Show', 'Page 8 - item 1']); }); $('#activateBtn').click(function() { document.getElementById('activateBtn').style.visibility = 'hidden'; //trackEvent("overview", {page: 8}); $('#big_wrapper').animate({ left: '+=100%' }, 1000, function() { //do nothing }); }); $('#deactivateBtn').click(function() { $('#big_wrapper').animate({ left: '-=100%' }, 1000, function() { document.getElementById('activateBtn').style.visibility = 'visible'; }); }); </script>

  • Need help with trim and null function

    Hi all,
    I need help with a query. I use the trim function to get the first three characters of a string. How do I write my query so if a null value occurs in combination with my trim to say 'Null' in my results?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply. What am I doing wrong?
    SELECT trim(SUBSTR(AL1.user_data_text,1,3)),NVL
    (AL1.user_data_text,'XX')
    FROM Table
    I want the XX to appear in the same column as the
    trim.The main thing you're doing wrong is not formatting your code. The solution may become obvious if you do.
    What you're saying is:
    SELECT  trim ( SUBSTR (AL1.user_data_text, 1, 3))
    ,       NVL ( AL1.user_data_text, 'XX' )
    FROM    Tablewhich makes it clear that you're SELECTing two columns, when you only want to have one.
    If you want that column to be exactly like the first column you're currently SELECTing, except that when that column is NULL you want it to be 'XX', then you have to apply NVL to that column, like this:
    SELECT  NVL ( trim ( SUBSTR (AL1.user_data_text, 1, 3))
                , 'XX'
    FROM    Table

  • Newbie needs help comprehending CSS Password Manager functions

    Hello All:
    I own a TP W500 4062-27U running Windows 7 Ultimate.  The computer is trouble-free.
    I am seeking a solution to the following need:  An application that will securely remember my passwords for various websites, etc. and enable me to log in using the fingerprint reader or similar.
    I am aware that Lenovo provides both Fingerprint Reader software and Client Security Solution software, but I don't know whether or not either one (or both) of these applications will provide the functionality I am seeking.  I have spent a fair bit of time looking around the Lenovo website, but cannot find a document that describes (in a general, overview manner) the functionality that CSS provides.
    I don't need to log into VPNs, or company networks, or anything really fancy like that - I just need something that will enable me to log into about 20 different websites, using a different password for each website.  Right now, I'm generally using the same password for every website (that way, I can remember what it is), and as I think you will agree, that is probably not a very good practice so far as security is concerned.
    If anyone could point me towards a document that explains how I can get CSS to do what I want it to do, I would be very grateful.  If CSS does not have the functionality I am seeking, I would very much appreciate a recommendation of software - possibly non-Lenovo - that does provide the functionality I am seeking.
    Thanks very much for your assistance.
    Michael

    Hi PanEuropean2,
    Welcome to Lenovo Forum!
    In regard to your question, Client Security Solution (CSS) should be the right fit for you.
    I have a T410 with Win 7, and have several passwords to remember which is really killing me. However, by using CSS, Fingerprint software and Password Manager, I need to enter all the passwords only once when access a website or a tool, and let it saved in CSS.
    The next time i turn on the machine and open up a website which needs user ID and password, I just need to swipe the fingerprint that I've enrolled, then viola!
    Just take note that after the first swipe of fingerprint, tools or website that are to be accessed later will automatically show the password in the box directly without having to swipe fingerprint again. You just need to click to log in. I"m not sure if this is the experience you're looking for, however, no harm to give it a try.
    Here's the user guide for CSS. It has
    Client Security Solution components
    Client Security Solution installation considerations
    Client Security Solution features
    Hope this helps

  • Need help with usage of static functions

    Hi,
    I tried instantiating objects within static functions as follows: It gives error:
    If someone can explain an alternate way of doing things, I would appreciate:
    public class C {
    * @param args
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    Y.Fn1();
    public class X {
    public void Fn2(){
    int b=2;
    System.out.println("hello");
    public class Y {
    public static void Fn1()
    int a=2;
    X obj = new X();
    obj.Fn2();
    The actual error is:
    Cannot make a static referencxe to the nonstatic method Fn2() from the type X Y.java
    Need Help : If someone can comment on the following, I would appreciate:
    I have a class Session, which has a method ProcessEvent()
    public class Session{
    public synchronized void processEvent(Event e)
    // Processing of the event
    // Generate a response for the Event
    This Session class is the mainstream code..
    Now I want to write a TestClass that will test the main code.
    So I have a Test class as below:
    public class Test {
    public static void sendReq()
    // Construct an event and call processEvent Function from the main code
    Event ev = new Event();
    // Fill the event with parameters
    Session sess = new Session();
    sess.processEvent(ev);
    What I am thinking of doing is: Call the static method in another class called Manager of the mainstream code for test purpose as follows:
    public class Manager {
    public void somefunction()
    //*** Just for test purpose: do the following line **//
    Test.sendReq();
    I am not sure what I am trying to do will work. I would appreciate if you can comment on that or suggest something that would work for me.
    Another thing which I want to do is:
    Inside ProcessEvent(), I want to call another static method ParseandValidateResponse() of the TestClass This looks odd, but as long as it works, it would be fine for me because this is only for test purpose.
    In this case, I would write,
    public class Session{
    public synchronized void processEvent(Event e)
    // Processing of the event
    // Generate a response for the Event
    Test.parseandValidateResponse(Response res);
    public class Test {
    public static void sendReq()
    // AS SHOWN PREVIOUSLY
    public static void parseandValidateResponse(Response resp)
    // validate the response
    }

    Sorry I thought no one had replied. When I posted here, I missed seeing yr reply. Later just now I saw yr reply It was in the second Page

  • Need help making a simple script for my webcam

    Hey everyone, fairly new to applescript programming. I just bought a usb camera for my macbook because I use it for video conferencing/playing around, and it is better quality than the built in isight. However, in order to use this camera I need to use drivers from a program called camTwist. This being said camTwist needs to be opened first and the usb camera must be selected from camTwist Step 1 list in order for any other application to use the camera. I just want to make a simple program that would open camTwist first, then select "webcam" from the list (double click it like I always have to in order to select it) in order to activate the driver, and then open photo booth which would then be using the camTwist driver in order to take pictures.
    I made a crude program but it does not automatically select "webcam" from the Step 1 list in camTwist:
    tell application "CamTwist" to activate
    delay 10
    tell application "Photo Booth" to activate
    that’s basically it. I set the delay to 10 seconds so that when camTwists boots up first I can manually select my webcam. HOWEVER, I would like to make a script that would boot up CamTwist first, select my webcam from the list automatically, and then open Photo Booth with the CamTwist webcam driver already selected.
    Don't know much about applescript so any help to make a working script to solve my problem would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Solved my problem but now I need help with something else! First I used CamTwist user options to create user defined hot keys with the specific purpose to load the webcam. I chose Command+B. I tested it out in CamTwist and it worked. The program follows a logical order from there. First it loads CamTwist, then after a short delay it presses the hot keys in order to load the webcam from the video source list, then another short delay and Photo Booth is opened with the driver loaded from camTwist. Everything works Perfect! Here's the code:
    tell application "System Events"
    tell application "CamTwist" to activate
    delay 0.5
    --Press command+b which is a user defined hot key to load webcam
    key code 11 using command down
    end tell
    delay 0.5
    tell application "Photo Booth" to activate
    My Next question is, would it be possible with this same script to have both applications quit together. For example I always quit Photo Booth first, so when I quit photo booth is there a way to make CamTwist also quit and keep everything within the same script? Please let me know. This forum has been very helpful and lead me to a solution to my problem! Hoping I can solve this next problem as well! Thanks everyone.

    As Lynn found, there is a memory problem with the vi which didn't show up in my limited testing.
    Using Shift Registers with Picture Controls can cause problems.
    See this thread.
    Try the attached "mod" version.
    Then I got to thinking, why redraw the box (2x with "erase") - when you could just move a box around?
    (Note: I used a picture for the box, but you could use other objects.)
    The "mod1" version does it this way.

  • I need help making a new Arch install ISO

    I have posted a couple of messages, but as yet no one seems to have responded, probably because they have not read them.
    I need help building a new ISO for Arch, to take account of dmraid.
    I can and have built ones that get so far, and clearly I am not that far away.
    All I need help with now is getting at the contents of the initial ramdisk (/isolinux/initrd.img) so I can make a new one with modifications, and if anyone can help, I need a hand working out how to use the kernel26.img that I will end up with on a system.
    Any help appreaciated.

    As far as I know this will be included in the next ISO release. I solved it by manually bringing the dmraid package to the install and wrote a guide on installing your root system on dmraid. However when the system crashes I have the slight inconvenience of having to install dmraid and manually mount the sets to do a recovery. I guess this is the part you want to get rid of aswell. I decided to wait until the next holy ISO.
