Need Help on Connection pooling with asp

Hi,
I am need ur help on how i want set up the minimum and maximum connection for my asp programming.
I am using Oracle 9i database with driver "Oracle in orahome 9.02.00.54".
Ihave create the odbc to this driver for handle the connection pool.
How i want to set the minimum and maximum connection ?
This is my code:
Set cn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
cn. open "dsn=loadtest;uid=guardreg3;pwd=guardreg3;min pool size=15"

sometimes it makes sense to look at these things from a different (and broader) perspective.
Especially in a context of a corporation it makes sense to use a Single Sign On (SSO) server for authentication (usually against LDAP) . Something like Netegrity Siteminder, Oracle SSO Server (as part of Oracle Internet Application Server) or something similar.
Then you could have all your applications use the authentication method of the SSO server which will keep track of the valid session and the applications that participate in the SSO context.
On the Apex side you would have to write a custom authentication scheme to leverage that functionality, the session handling will no longer be of any concern to you.
Just a different way to look at it.

Need Help About Connection Pooling

I am new to WebLogic.
We have a Java based application hosted on WebLogic 6.1.
We have not used any Database Pooling utility.
We are just creating connection objects in JSP/Java files (Worst!!).
Now we want to use Database Connection Pooling facility of WebLogic.
So now if I create connection pool from WebLogic console, the database connection pooling will be automatically handle by WebLogic OR I have to develop a class using Database Pooling package of the WebLogic and than need to use that class in all file where I am accessing database.

Once you have created a connection pool using the console the next thing to do is create a datasource with a JNDIname that uses that pool.
Then you can write a ServiceLocator to use JNDI to encapsulate the lookup code and cache the datasource, finally and you can use the datasource to retrieve connections from your connection pool.
By creating a datasource you decouple your apoplication from connection pools making it more flexible. If you don't like ServiceLocators you can always use something like the spring framework to hide all the plumbing.

Need help understanding whats wrong with ASP checking for empty fields.

Can anyone tell me whats wrong with these if statements: If i
sumbit the
form providing everything except the dream_inscript field it
gives me this

Need help on integrating htmldb with asp/jsp/php

Hello there, we have a few existing htmldb applications running at the moment, and now we would like to develop some asp/jsp/php applications. However there is one issue we still haven't solved yet, which is the SESSION(Login) problem. We don't know how the session is being generated, how to pull out session values manually from db etc etc.
If you have done this before or any ideas, will be much appreciated.

Configuring JCo3 Connection Pool with single sign on on non SAP Java server

Hi Everyone,
i have configured a connection pool on JBoss as per JCo3 Documentation and is working great.
Now I need help to configure this connection pool with single sign on so that RFc on SAP ECC systems are executed using end users credential rather than using single user name password used to configure JCo connection pool.
On SAP Java stack I am sure its possible within Java WebDynpro and i assume using JCA resource adapter. But what if we don't want to use SAP Java App server.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi i am a newbie to Obiee and i want to know how to import tables into a connection pool with variables in place of Data Source Name: valueof(DSN_DM) username:value of(DSN_DM_USER)
like that i want to import my new tables into this connection pool how i can do that. i tried importing but it is coming as a new subject area.

Firstly you imported some tables and again as adding tables your are using variable in connection pool and importing tables then it takes as a new subject area only.....Instead use this variable connection pool to import all tables from scratch and then work on it.This would do.
Either if it is a seperate subject area pull the columns needed from both the subject areas and work on it.Before doing that you need to establish joins between the subject area tables.

Strange behaviour when using connection pooling with proxy authentication

I have developed an ASP.NET 1.1 Web application that uses ODP.NET 9.2.0.4 accessing Oracle Database 8i (which is to be upgraded to 10g in the coming months). I have enabled connection pooling and implemented proxy authentication.
I am observing a strange behaviour in the live environment. If two users (User 1 and User 2) are executing SQL statements at the same time (concurrent threads in IIS), the following is occurring:
* User 1 opens a new connection, executes a SELECT statement, and closes this connection. The audit log, which uses the USER function, shows User 1 executed this statement.
* User 2 opens the same connection (before it is released to the connection pool?), excutes an INSERT statement, and closes this connection. The audit log shows User 1, not User 2, executed this statement.
Is this a known issue when using connection pooling with proxy authentication? I appreciate your help.

I tried to reproduce your complaint, but was unable to. I didnt use auditting however, just a series of "select user from dual" with proxy authentication. You might want to see if you can put together a small complete testcase for this and open a sr with support.

Clarification needed on JDBC Connection Pool in Clustered enviornment

          Although I went through the bea online documentation , its not clear how
          JDBC connection pool works in clustered environment.
          If anyone can please answer following questions, it would be a great help.
          1) Do I need to create identical connection pools (with identical ACLs) on
          each WebLogic Server in the cluster ?
          2) Online documentation says " If you create an identical JDBC DataSource in
          each clustered WebLogic Server instance and configure those DataSources to
          use different connection pools, the cluster can support load balancing for
          JDBC connections. " what actually this means
          3) What's the use of "JDBC MultiPools " ? Is it same as "JDBC metapool "

          I don't believe that it is strictly necessary to do this but it is certainly the
          most common configuration and probably the preferred one as well. WLS is smart
          enough to automatically use its Type 3 driver to route requests to a connection
          on another server but this type of server-to-server communication can have an
          impact on performance and scalability.

          Don't read too much into this. All that this is saying is that application
          components in each server will "prefer" to use their local DataSource (all other
          things being equal) and since other clustering technology (or things like
          hardware load balancers) are spreading the load across the servers, you will
          also spread the load across the different connection pools.

Hi Karthikeyan,
This is not the issue at all. I can open the management studio by the same login id and password and also i can make the database jdbc connection from plain java file.
It does not give me any problem by them.
I'm unable to find the actual problem. May be i'm missing something in connection pooling.

We need help on struts configuration with ColdFusion 10 using IIS.
Earlier we were using ColdFusion 8 with IIS 6 for one of our application. This application internally calls struts. After upgrading to ColdFusion 10 struts calls are not loading. We get 404 error.
In ColdFusion 8 struts were configured using actions extension .do in IIS from this file-
C:\ColdFusion8\runtime\lib\wsconfig\jrun_iis6.dll.
But in ColdFusion 10 this file is not present as ColdFusion 10 uses Tomcat in place of Jrun.
Also there is no information in ColdFusion log file.

There are 2 pieces of information that you should be aware of...
(1) None of the PowerBooks are capable of 802.11n.
(2) The WDS link cuts your available bandwidth in half. So the wireless link to your neighbor's has a maximum potential of 27 Mbps.
Let's for a minute assume that you have a Mac compatible with 802.11n. In your configuration the time you could take advantage of the 802.11n speed is when the Mac is sending/recieving data directly from/to the Time Capsule.
There would be NO speed increase in Internet access. The speed of Internet access is going to be controlled by the slowest link in the path to the Internet. That is probably the connection to the ISP. The next slowest path is the WDS link to your neighbor's.

I am in a similar situation, sharing internet with my neighbor. Do you think it would be plausible to hook up a vonage phone adapter to time capsule's ethernet port if time capsule is bridging from my neighbor's router in the configuration you have described? A check of my upload speed shows 1.67Mbps (powerbookG4 w/ airport extreme). Vonage reccommends 90kbps minimum upload speed. Am I going to lose some speed putting the Vonag adapter behind time capsule?

Other possibilities:
Your router firmware is out of date. Check the manufacturer's website for an update
You have MAC (Media Access Control) filtering enabled on the router, that restricts access to "known" devices and the new iPhone is not on the table of known devices
Your router has a setting limiting the number of simultaneous allowed devices
Your routers SSID ("name") is still the default (e.g., LINKSYS, DLINK, NETGEAR, etc). Your phone has encountered other routers with the same name as you have traveled, and the phone is confused as to which router is the real one. If your router's name is still the default you should change it.

Need help re-synching iPods with new computer and getting iTunes to recognize our iPods (it doesn't even recognize them when they're plugged in).
Hubby wiped my harddrive for me, so now I need to get everything back in proper places. I'm using windows XP and installed iTunes once again (I believe it's version 8). I also installed all of my iTunes songs. Now I need to know where to go from here. We have 3 iPods and I need to get them all synched once again. I know how to create different libraries for each of us, but I can't figure out how to get our songs back into our iTunes libraries. When I open iTunes and plug in an iPod, iTunes doesn't even show that an iPod is plugged in.
What do I do now to get each of our iPods synched with our own libraries?

Okay, now how do I synch all of our ipods with our individual libraries (I don't want all of my kids' songs and vice versa)? We each have hundreds of songs on our ipods that we don't want to lose.

Help Please: How to make a connection pool with mySQL

I am learning the example codes shipped with weblogic server, which is under ...samples\examples\ejb20\basic\beanManaged. The original connection pool was on cloudscape. I was trying to modify it and make it connect to mySQL.
In ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml, I replaced "demopool" (which was the original pool name) with "demopool1".
After starting the server, I tried to configure a new connection pool as following:
Name: demopool1
URL: jdbc:mysql:///test
Driver Classname: org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver
Properties
(key=value): user=none
server=none
But I got the following errors:
<2007-10-5 ??06?30?09?> <Error> <JDBC> <Cannot startup connection pool "demopool1" Cannot load driver class: org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver>
What should I do to let the server find the Driver?

I couldn't figure out what "java:comp/env/jdbc/demoPool" was related, so I just replaced "demopool" with "demopool1". Do you konw what "comp/env/jdbc" mean? Is it a location?
