Need help on global variables / parameters

Please let me know if there a way to see the list of global variables and parameters in a form.

I presume you mean at runtime, since at design time parameters are in the Navigator, and globals can only be created at runtime. But unfortunately at runtime there is no way to get a list of them, like you can with blocks and items. (There's no easy way to get other objects either, like LOVs, canvasses, etc., though most of them can be derived from properties of items). But let's say you thought you knew the name of a parameter or global and wanted to confirm it really exists. With parameters there is no solution; you can't use find_item(). With globals a common technique is the following:
t_name := 'global.var';
default_value('SoMe ImPoSsBlE VaLuE', t_name);
if name_in(t_name) = 'SoMe ImPoSsBlE VaLuE' then

And of course remember that globals are not owned by a form; they are visible to all forms that are running.

I am a new bee to dac.
Need help in modifying mapping parameters of out the box mapping, which is invoked by DAC task.
We got a requirement to edit mapping parameter. When I go and see parameter under mappings tab in a mapping, I could not see any values in it.
But when I set any value, and validate it. It is successful.
Is it right way to do it?
What my concern is, When I initially go and see parameter values under maapings tab in a mapping, they are blank.
Where is it storing these values?

If you modify mapping then u have to create new task in dac and dac itself craete parameter file at run time. if you want to add more parameters then do it in dac system parameters tab.

Need features of global variables but want to avoid re-writing to memory

I am making a program with a number of simultaneous loops that will be sharing several variables. Most of the variables are of size 1 or small arrays, so I am not too concerned about the constant re-writings involved. However, I have one rather large data buffer (3D array containing 200Kb+ of data). The buffer will be of a set size. In the various loops, the buffer will be accessed for updates (generally with Replace Array subset), and read from to get average values and such. I'm using semaphores so that none of the loops interact negatively and lose data. In other programs I'd set this up with a shift register in the loop, but since the data is being used in separate simultaneous loops, it's no
t really possible to wire it up that way. I need some sort of memory-space that can be accessed from the various loops.
I guess in sorts, I need to be able to have global variable 'pointers', but of course I was told a couple of years ago at a LabView seminar that pointers was a bad word.

I have one correction to make. The value of an unitialized shift
register on first load is not undefined but rather contains the
datatype's default default value. This would be False for booleans, 0
for numerics and empty arrays or strings.

Need help with a variable

I ahve a report that I want to show Free to Sell stock - stock that is in the warehouse that hasn't been allocated.
I have created a variable called Freestock which basically uses a Physical Stock quantity minus the allocated stock quantity.
It is currently just adding all the figures together, instead of splitting it by item, so this is wrong
Here's the formula I'm using ;
=Sum(<Warehouse Physical Quantity>-<Outstanding Allocated Quantity>)
Any help would be greatly appreciated in getting this sorted

I am sure the formula is correct.
It is currently just adding all the figures together, instead of splitting it by item,
You need to pull this variable with the item object. it will automatically break the number by the Item.

Need help with accesing variable with xpath.

I need help with xpath in "Switch" BPEL construct. Switch is used to compare value assigned to output vairable and follow one path for "Deny" and another for "Approve". The following is data type for output variable.

The following expressions in Switch statement throw lava.lang.Exception. It error is xpath internal error".

It works with x20:compare('Deny','Deny'). So I assumed it must be accessing the variable.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Newbie needs help with passing variables or creating flash object based on parameters

Hello Community,
I'm an amateur developer of Ms Access databases. In one of my applications I want to visualize the options available when reaching a certain score.
What I'd like to get from this trial period, is a flash animation of a dartboard. Depending on an array of variables that provides the fill color (or reference thereof) the layers of the flash object will be dynamicly created, altered, or switched. The dartboard itself remains "static". I'm hoping to use 9 colors.
I can manipulate the array any way needed. I can provide XML coding to pass the array variables. I'm just too new and untrained to incorporate this in a Edge animation or Dreamweaver.
There is no need for interaction, once the object is created (ie no user feedback).
Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi,
I see you're using System.Data.OracleClient (which has been deprecated by MS) rather than Oracle.DataAccess.Client, but this works for me with Oracle's ODP, maybe it will help.

Need help with getting variable from static

What I am building is an application that prompts for username/password before it shows the main screen. Once they have successfully logged in, I need to assign the username that they used, in order to use it for a button event if the make any updates.

I am developing in Netbeans. If I try to remove the static keyword from main(), netbeans canno't find a main to run. I have created the User class.

Need help in Bind variable in AF Query LOV

Hi,
i have one problem with bind variable, if i use bind variable in the LOV VO Query then my result is not coming, if there is not bind variable it's working fine and if i use the bind variable in the LOV search option then it's working fine but if i hide the bind variable and set the value in AM prepareSesstion method the LOV is not returning any value. I try to return the values also all values are also coming but those values are not setting to AF Query Attribute.
Query is:

This is a little underdescribed. IIUC, the view object in question is being used as a target for a view accessor, correct? (Otherwise you'll have to be more explicit about what you mean by "Query LOV".
If I'm right, there are two possibilities:
1) You are using a VO instance in a shared application module instance. If so, make sure your code is in the prepareSession() for that application module class if it's session dependent (as it seems to be below), you need to make sure the application module instance is shared at session scope.
2) You've based the view accessor directly on the VO definition. This basically creates an anonymous VO instance; I don't think there's any way to use prepareSession() to set a bind variable on such an instance (which won't be created until the accessor is first used). You might be able to get by with putting similar code into the view object class' create() method, but I haven't tested this.
If your code is in your primary application module class (as opposed to the class for a shared AM instance), the problem here is that getCmProcessView() returns the VO instance from that application module instance's design-time data model, which is never used by view accessors.
By the way, why do you need to do this in prepareSession() instead of at the view accessor level? I believe you can get the logged in user name (for the view accessor) in with the groovy expression
viewObject.DBTransaction.session.userPrincipalName
or possibly just
DBTransaction.session.userPrincipalName
(despite this involving DBTransaction, it returns the web app user name, not the DB username).
That's a 100% declarative solution, if you don't count the Groovy expression as non-declarative.
If you're afraid of a user executing the LOV (somehow) before the bind variable value gets set, just ensure that the bind variable is marked "required".

if i dont give any interval in the variable prompt it should display all the recors as follows

that means wherever i restrict the data depending on the variable that only that interval key figure value shd be in the report..

Please guide me for the same...

could you tell me the var. creation in detail and with which reference object i need to create ...
whether i need to take LM_DATE / 0DATE while creating variable...
and i kept this variables it in filter section, based on the LM_DATE Object.
i have tried both.. y'day when i take 0DATE it giving me some results...
But at the same time it is restricting the records..
i think it could be a problem with var.. properties?
need more inputs pls.

Need help for proper blending parameters

Hi,
I am trying to make a very simple movement with 2 servos:
go down 4 meters,
go right 20 cm,
go up 4 meters,
go right 20 cm,
etc..
However, during those 4 meters up down moves, the speed should be constant.
I wasnt happy wth the blend movements so I decided to replace the go right move with a circular arc of 10 cm radius.
It looked great on the graph with simulated axis until I plotted their speed on a chart: white is Y axis and green is X axis
I thought that the circular arc would be a great way to connect the up and down straight-line moves by automatically regulating the X & Y speeds. So in order to keep a constant speed during the transitions, I chose those parameters:
blend mode: at deceleration
smooth: 0
acceleration/deceleration/acc & decc jerk: 0
however, as you can see on the charts, there are a few glitchs during the transitions. I played all day with all those params but without success.
I dont know if this will affect the servo motors or if it not even necessary to deal with this problem but to be on the safe sde, I would like to know how can I go from one movement to the other without those glitches.

Thank you for your input. I am already using NI Softmotion and according to NI support, there is a bug with arc move bending. I couldnt find any info on it so they gave me a CAR link but I cant access it, so I dont know how old is this bug nor if it can be fixed it anytime soon:

We are designing a painting prototype using a spray gun on a linear system using 3 n 1/2 axis (X, Y, Z, and a pneumatic for switching between horizontal/vertical painting). Here are some screenshots of the spray gun XY trajectories:
According to the spray gun paint spread, the trajectory changes. For example, here the spreads are 15 and 20 cm so the spray gun must go up/down 11 or 8 times and left/right 27 or 20 times accordingly.
I already looked into the contouring method but it looked like a lot more work for proper speed control and as I said, speed is one of the most important parameter in our system.

i have asked question earlier about the problem, i was trying all the possible combinations and i just got another way,
Can i use Offset settings for Text variable ?
my requirement is , i have ofiscper, and there is a text variable created on that too. but if my fiscper is 0012010 then my text variable shows april 2010. but i need "may 2010" instate.
so, if my fiscper is 0012010 , then my text variable should show one month prior or after .
So, i found in text variable..ther is sometjng like "offset". i was wondering can i use that to get that result ?
i tried, but didnt work...

The offset for text Variable is just to get a substring of the result of the text variable and not like the offset that we use in the Restriction of the Keyfigures.
Hence this will not work.

I'm trying to put a variable within my add_months function:

AND     t1.edatetime <= add_months(sysdate,:v2)I have tried defining the variable both as 'integer' type and 'numeric' type, but in both cases, my query returns no results. If I hard code the values, it works just fine.
Any suggestions?

Like Max said, you should post a complete script that gets the incorrect results.
Include your CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, or use tables that are commonly available.
For example:
