Need help in writing a vbs script

I am very new to scripting and need help in scripting the following:
When the Windows 7 machine boots up or a user logs on (easy to do with GPO), I want to execute a script that starts some services
ONLY if the length of the computer name is less than or equal to 15 else it should exit. It has to be done in the background without any user interaction.
The script should be able to work for both x86 and x64 version of Win7.

I highly recommend that you skip VBScript and learn PowerShell instead. This is pretty trivial in PowerShell:

I need help to modify my AS script

I have the following script and I would like to modify it:
1.On this file I need to type the name of some video Albums in order to be displayed in the SWF file.
2. What I wanr is that this file read the specific folder and read the directories which they will be the names of the Albums
How can I do this?
One more thing is that this file was created to work with Flas CS3 and I am trying to test it with CS5.
I really appreciate the whole help I can get.
I don't know anything about AS2 nor AS3, I only know hoe to modify the files by following comments and other samples from all around the web.

This is a web-based app. And the application is for a carrousel video gallery.
I already figure out the auto XML generator with php, but I think I want to get all in one process. Meaning that I only want to upload my videos and run php codes by themselves and not to worry in adding or modifying the *.fla file everytime that I insert a new folder ("Album").

Need help to redesign legacy SQL Script

I have the below code which produces a CREATE TRIGGER statement. as of now this does for updating. I need to re-design this code to add for inserting and deleting as well. I just need help in the structuring wise. I can build the logic for inserting and updating inside. I want to know how i can continue to get for "inserting" and "deleting" as well.
you will understand my question better if you go through main code, present output and required output format below.

REALLY NEED HELP!! screen is just black and wont turn on

i have an 8GB, 2nd geration, black ipod nano and i was just listening to my ipod in activity class when my ipod froze. so i tried the manual restart. but it didn't turn back on. now the screen is just black, wont even restart no matter what. so i tried plugging it into my computer but the itunes doesn't recognize it. there's a screen that pops up thats tells me to look for the files or download or something like that but when i try to, it says files not found. right now im at a total loss. nothing i do turns it on. what do i do now? should i just toss it? i dont even know if i wan't to buy a new one cause im scared this might happen again. i really dont want to use another $250 for another one.

I'm learning to use iCal v.5.0.3 on a Mac Pro (2,1) 2x3 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, running Lion OSX10.7.5.
I need to find or write a script which, when I create a new iCal timed event, will automatically send me an email and give a screen alert 24 hours before - plus on the morning of the appointment, plus 2 hours beforehand. I'm wondering if such a script exists already or can be adapted. I've searched various forums and am unable to find specific simple instructions on how to create such a thing in Applescript or Automator or whatever. So I've really tried to find out on my own.
Can anyone direct me to a set of instructions? This can't be so hard, can it? To clarify, when I create an "event" with a time (an appointment), I want to hit a button which tells iCal to send me these reminders without my having to set multiple reminders in iCal for each of my new "events".
I'd be most grateful for any advice at all.

Doing a shell script to burn a DVD from a folder (for example) is pretty challenging. The reason is that you need to execute the entire script in one shot, because making a burned disk is a 3 part affair with each part of the operation taking time. The problem with executing separate commands is that Applescript can't wait around until a shell command is finished, while a shell script will not proceed to the next command until the previous command is completed.
Burning disk takes these 3 parts:
1) Create an empty diskimage of your desired size
2) Mount the empty and copy your stuff to it
3) Burn and eject
There may be a shortcut by burning an existing folder but you don't say exactly what you're doing. See the hdutil command for more information:

It is very much possible. Use Modif ID concept. First dont display any date, depending on radio button selected display date in which ever form u need.
See the sample coding for Modif id.

Need help on IDES R/3 Ent. 47x200 installation please

I have spent nearly 24 hours without getting any further in installing the IDES system.
I have read the installation document and just couldn't follow which CD is required for my installation. I was sent IDES based on MSSQL 2000 and Win2000 server.
I am trying to do central system installation.
I managed to prepare active directory, and join the sap r3 server as a member server.
I'm stucked at LDAP integration where SAP prepare the schema in the AD: I can't find the R3SETUP.bat (in any CD). The installation docs says I need basis 46D or SAP AS 6.10. It recommends to download from the service.sap.com/installations site, but I can't find it. So I can't run R3SETUP.bat???
Does the IDES 4.7x200 CD bundle have what I need to install IDES successfully or there's another CD that I'm not aware of?
Any help/hints is very much appreciated.

Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds and release. Wait 30 seconds and power cycle the router. Connect vie wired computer to 192.168.1.1 username blank password admin and configure your router normally.

I highly recommend that you skip VBScript and learn PowerShell instead. This is pretty trivial in PowerShell:

Need Help in creating Unix Shell Script for database

Would be appreciable if some one can help in creating unix shell script for the Oracle DB 10,11g.
Here is the condition which i want to implement.
1. Create shell script to create the database with 10GB TB SPACE and 3 groups of redo log file(Each 300MB).
2. Increase size of redolog file.
3. Load sample schema.
4. dump the schema.
5. Create empty db (Script should check if db already exists and drop it in this case).
6. Create backup using rman.
7. restore backup which you have backed up.

This isn't much of a "code-sharing" site but a "knowledge-sharing" site. Code posted me may be from a questioner who has a problem / issue / error with his code. But we don't generally see people writing entire scripts as responses to such questions as yours. There may be other sites where you can get coding done "for free".
What you could do is to write some of the code and test it and, if and when it fails / errors, post it for members to make suggestions.
But the expectation here is for you to write your own code.

I need help with AppleScript for changing the font on numerous PowerCADD files

I am currently trying to write an AppleScript, but I really have no idea how one is written. I have looked up many tutorials, but to no avail.
What I'm trying to so is write a script that will take all my selected PowerCADD files, open them, change the font to Helvetica, then save the file. I have over a thousand files to do this to. So, you can see my need of an AppleScript to get this task completed.
If anyone out there knows how I would write this script, please submit it here.

I need help with blue screen on Windows 7

Hi guys...I was wondering if someone could help me...!
While I play a video game, I recieve a error blues screen message...I don't know if it is an error from my S.O, or it is an error for that video game...!

In order to assist you, we will need the .DMP files to analyze what exactly occurred at the time of the crash, etc.
If you don't know where .DMP files are located, here's how to get to them:
1. Navigate to the %systemroot%\Minidump folder.
2. Copy any and all DMP files in the Minidump folder to your Desktop and then zip up these files.
3. Upload the zip containing the .DMP files to Onedrive or a hosting site of your choice and paste in your reply. Preferred sites: Onedrive, Mediafire, Dropbox, etc. Nothing with wait-timers, download managers, etc.
4 (optional): The type of .DMP files located in the Minidump folder are known as Small Memory Dumps. In %systemroot% there will be what is known as a Kernel-Dump (if your system is set to generate). It is labeled MEMORY.DMP. The difference
between Small Memory Dumps and Kernel-Dumps in the simplest definition is a Kernel-Dump contains
much more information at the time of the crash, therefore allowing further debugging of your issue. If your upload speed permits it, and you aren't going against any strict bandwidth and/or usage caps, etc, the Kernel-Dump is the best
choice. Do note that Kernel-Dumps are much larger in size due to containing much more info, which is why I mentioned upload speed, etc.
If you are going to use Onedrive but don't know how to upload to it, please visit the following:

After doing that, to learn how to share the link to the file if you are unaware, please visit the following link -
Share files and folders and change permissions and view 'Get a link'.
Please note that any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUpUtilities, CCleaner, etc, by default will delete .DMP files upon use. With this said, if you've run such software, you will need to allow the system to crash once again to generate a crash dump.
If your computer is not generating .DMP files, please do the following:
1. Start > type %systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.
2. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all
drives'.
3. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system
log'.
Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.
4. Double check that the WERS is ENABLED:
Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than
Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click Apply.
If you cannot get into normal mode to do any of this, please do this via Safe Mode.

Flash Newbie needs help with Movie Clips/Action Scripting

Hi -
I'm having a problem with my movie clips playing
simultaneously and cannot, for the life of me, figure out what I
have done wrong. I'm new to flash, so I may have set something up
incorrectly, but here's what I have so far:
11 layers, total: 1 layer with 10 control buttons, each
button with the following actionscript:
on (release) {
gotoAndPlay(85);
Where the number changes in relation to which keyframe the
next movie is on.
I have 10 movies, total, but they are only movie clips,
essentially photo slide shows with audio, made all in the library.
The problem happens when I click on the second or third
button. Not only does the movie that I have selected begin to play,
but all of the previous clips do as well, so it all sounds quite
garbled. I don't know what I am missing in the action script, as my
Action Layer has a stop command on it at each keyframe where there
is a new clip to play.
I have tried to add a stopAllSounds command, but I'm afraid
that doesn't do anything because it is not a "sound file" per se,
playing in the timeline.
I'm at the end of my rope and really need some help in
figuring this one out. My project is hanging in the balance on
this, as I have scripted everything else correctly and it runs
beautifully.

Each layer has a blank keyframe before and after each
movieclip. Each movie clip is at a different frame. Even with the
blank keyframes added, the second video starts to play and then the
first video begins to play. Same happens if I click on the third
button. Third plays, and starts 1st and 2nd shortly thereafter. Is
there an action script I can put in that will tell the timeline
that, when a button is clicked, no matter where the movieclip is,
it will stop and start the newly selected movieclip?

NEED HELP.. white screen

My Ipod Nano does not seem to charge, all I can get the Nano to do is turn on to a white screen then go blank. Tried to restore, reset. Have left it plugged in for many hours and still nothing.. PLEASE HELP... getting frustrated with this thing....

Answer is you need another Mac.
Plugged in another mac using a firewire lead and setting my imac as an external drive. I managed to recover my files by copying them to another external drive. I was very lucky re the data but surprised that I could only do this with another mac. Fortunate that I could get a friend with one to help.
No idea why the machine has White screened - the apple store said 'it happens' so off with my new machine to the store to have it fixed. Never had to do this with pc's in 15 yrs, still it's a nice store and everyone is so helpful perhaps I'll buy something else whist they sort this out...
