Need help on Oracle Report format

Hi,
I need help on Oracle Reports. I am generating a report in excel sheet. I have a column which is 13 digit number (In database it is CHAR datatype). In excel sheet it showing some thing like 9.78381E+12. I want to show complete number like 9783805591331.
Also sometimes leading zero's are not showing when my column values is something like 0098794859583. I need to show the leading zero's as well in excel without losing them.
Below are the parameters i am using for the report
DESFORMAT=SPREADSHEET AND DESTYPE=FILE
My Oracle 9i developer version.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.

An additional quote string ' character with the number field will solve this problem but if u want to display this field in report then it will look ugly

Need help in Oracle reports 6i

I have a report in 6i, which displays participant details as output on a single page. Presently page one is printed on a pre-printed format which contains some static text. Now we need to make changes in the report it self to accomodate the static text also. How can I do this without touching the existing report. As I have not worked much on reports I am not sure how to do this.
I have tried adding the static content in the footer section but it did not help.
I have really not worked on reports so I am not sure how do i do that.
I can describe the elements of the report as below:
1. Report has a non-repeating frame within that a repeating frame which brings the main data of a participant (from say table t1 where participant_flag='Y')
2. The participant repeating frame has another repeating frame which has dependents data(from table t1 where participant_flag='N')

My report brings some data based on a query which comes on a single page. This page is then printed on a pre-printed paper and sent to participants of a firm. The pre-printed content is common to all participant. For e.g. the letter head for the company has some text which is used for priting any offer letter etc.
I need to include the 2nd page in report 6i.

When you run the program, the system displays the following basic list with a the page header defined in the program:
You can trigger the AT LINE-SELECTION event by double-clicking a line. The system sets the status TEST and deactivates the function code PICK. The status TEST contains function codes FC1 to FC5. These are assigned to pushbuttons in the application toolbar. The page header of the detail list depends on the status.
Here, double-clicking a line no longer triggers an event. However, there is now an application toolbar containing five user-defined pushbuttons. You can use these to trigger the AT USER-COMMAND event. The CASE statement contains a different reaction for each pushbutton.
For each interactive event, the system decreases the SY-LSIND system field by one, thus canceling out the automatic increase. All detail lists now have the same level as the basic list and thus overwrite it. While the detail list is being created, SY-LSIND still has the value 1.

Need help in converting date format

Need help in converting date format from 'DD-MON-YYYY' to 'YYYY-MM-DD' in an .rtf template as I believe xml publisher supports the date format as 'YYYY-MM-DD' only.

I got the same problem, anyone know how to solve this problem? I allready found some date functions on http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2008/09/date_functions.html . I also tried <?xdoxslt:month_name(xdoxslt:get_month(xdofx:substr(NEED_BY_DATE, 4,3)), $_XDOLOCALE), 0, 'nl-NL')?>, but then it returns a namespace error (Caused by: oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XPathException: Namespace prefix 'xdofx' used but not declared.). Anyone know how to fix this?

Need help in oracle data recovery

Friends ,i need help in oracle data recovery.
I had an oracle 8i database running on windows.
For some reason Windows operating system crashed.
It is not booting up.
I dont have current backups.But my database physical files are in the disk.
Controlfile,datafiles and redo log files are there.
Is there any way I can recover my database?
Please help in this issue.

I have installed database 9i on the same PC after O/S reinstallation.
You are saying that ,I need to keep oracle root folder same as that of my old installation ,and copy control files,redo log and data files in exactly same folders as that of old database,and then start the database?

It that other thread I suggested using SQL*Loader or External Tables might be a more suitable solution. Find out more.

Hello,
I assume GBS Agency Expert 6.7.6c is some sort of database or data source? If you have an ODBC driver then create or use a System DSN to the database. Then you can create a report using that DSN.
Otherwise I suggest you contact the makers of GBS Agency Expert 6.7.6c and ask them how to connect to the database.
Let them know CR is ANSII 92 ODBC 3 compliant.

Need Help XML Publisher Report

I need to generate a report in xml publisher responsibility .
I have create and designed the RTF file using word , And i have genetared an XML file(template )
I have some doubt please clarify by doubts
In RTF template i have some 4columns
For EXample i Give some column name
Invoice Number , Invoice Line Number ,Tax Type ,Tax Code Name etc....
In my RTF I have done like this
I have created two 2 row and 4column
In the 1st row i have all the 4 column heading
In the 2nd row i have done like this
Developer tab> Design mode > In the legacy tool i have selected text Form field
Once i double click the text form field in the default text i have Given C1 Then in the Add help text button i have given <?C_INVOICE_NUMBER?> like this i have done for alls the columns
My RTF design is completed
Now i need load the XML is it?
In the XMl data query i have placed my sql statement
Here my doubt starts
wether all the column in the RTF should be in the XML sql statement ha?
2)In the top of my RTF i need to add date and page No how to add that ?

Help on Oracle Report sort option!

My query in Q_1 of Oracle report is select &a_code ori_code ,&a_desc ori_description from &a ori_lup order by &b. When click on OK button it says
ORA-00936: missing expression

I am not able to resolve this problem.
What I am trying to do is I have some maintenance tables which have almost same columns like code, description. I want to define a single report and pass on parameters to this report, so that I can use same report for different tables. If I dont give order by clause it is working fine, but I should also provide sort option based on user selection of sort by code/description.

Need Help on Oracle BI Server Service

Hi there,
I would need help on to start Oracle BI Server service start.
I have installed OBIEE 10.1.3.4 version and I've been working on creating repository and creating Answers & Dashboards etc..,
Today, I was working on to point other repository in NQSConfig.INI file and when I tried to Start Oracle BI Server Service I get below error:
" *Could not start the Oracle BI Server service on Local Computer*
*Error 1064 An exception occurred in the service when handling the control request*"
It's been working, just I got this error today only, all other services are working fine.
Has anyone got this error?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are right, I changed repo name and changed back to original one and and Service is starting now.
I think something missing space or format issue when I add other entry in the NQSconfig.INI file, Ihave to follow same synatx.

I have a similar problem with the OATS v9.20 installation. I did manage to install it on our main load generator (running Windows 2003 Server) but when it came to installing OpenScript on my laptop (XP SP3) the install 'hangs' at 78%.
I did raise a support call with Oracle about this (there was a bug report generated) but the case is still open.
I've been waiting to hear when the next version was due (in the hope that this might have been resolved) but by the sounds of it there could still be an issue on WinXP with v9.21?
For reference I originally logged this with the following in the description:
The installation looks like it is failing because of a double backslash in a path ending "OATS920\\bin\copyOUI.bat". We then get an error in javaw.exe which when OK'ed then stops the installation at the stage "creating 'Uninstall Oracle Application Testing Suite' in folder 'Oracle Application Testing Suite' ".

HELP with Oracle Reports 6i - user parameters .....

Hi, i have made a form with button in Oracle Forms 6i.
When i press the button it fires trigger (when-button-pressed) where i declared and made parameter (:p_dep_no) which i want to sedn to report and later query report with this (:p_dep_no) ...
In Oracle report i made this parameter under user parameter and made my SQL statemet where i included in where clause my parameter (:p_dep_no) .
When i run oracle forms and press this button i get popup screen which asks me to enter this user parameter....
My question is - how i can make it all automaticly ... that i didn't need to write (:p_dep_no) manualy, but report could get this parameter from oracle forms and then show me only queried report ....

Oracle report formatting takes long time

hi
i am using oracle 10g Application Server 9.0.4.0.0 on Red hat linux AS 3
oracle reports are run thru JSP's
some reports take long time to execute though query in it if executed on sql plus are fast.
it is fond that that formatting is going on for those reports
what might be the reason for this??
is the data fetched first and then formatting takes place as per data??

Need help in dynamic report for a range of year and period

Dear all,
I need help in creating an ALV report with dynamic columns based on the Year and period entered on the selection screen. for example if in the year we enter 2002 and period range from 10 to 12 then we should get the 3 columns display for cost(example) for period 10/2002, 11/2002 and 12/2002.
Can anyone help me in achieving this dynamically since the user can enter the year also in intervals along with the period and data also needs to be populated in the corresponding columns.
An example code would be of great help.
