Need Help on Sqlplus -s Mode!

Hi,
I am Using Oracle 11g Database Release 1 on Windows 2003 Server R2 SP2 ... I have Created a Batch file which call Sqlplus in Silent mode and Run a sql file, inside the Sql file, i am passing this Command ACCEPT System_Password default 'oracle' PROMPT 'ENTER THE System Password: ' hide i am getting a Blank screen instead of ENTER THE System Password: Message in My screen, i don't know why i am getting a Blank Screen .
Please advice me .....

it's a bit harder to answer without seeing the batch script nor the sql script ....
SQLPLUS -s starts SQLPLUS in silent mode, are you sure ACCEPT works is silent mode? Did you try to run sqlplus without -s
personally (and this is my personal opinion) I would never use ACCEPT command inside the script unless there is really reason for it. You have Windows, why don't you gather all parameters first in the wrapper script (it can be even nice VBScript popup window) and then run the SQL script or even better bypass SQLPLUS and use ADO - there are tons of great samples on google how to use VBScript + ADO to connect to oracle without using SQLPLUS

The paths are set correctly, however when i try to login to the server through the below line,
sqlplus username/password@oracleservername
ksh: sqlplus: cannot execute
It says, sqlplus cannot execute.. Please help me out with this! :( :(

please execute: which sqlplus to see if you can reach sqlplus. probably you can, because otherwise the shell can not determine it can not execute.
execute: id to determine your current user and groups.
execute: ls -ls $(which sqlplus) to determine security settings of sqlplus.
my guess would be you are not allowed to execute sqlplus.

Need help opening in safe mode on HP Mini 311

My HP mini opens on a blue sceen telling me there is no hard drive installed. My dh took it in to Office Depot where he purchased it for me at Xmas and the tech said nothing's wrong with it. It opened normal for him but I don't think the guy tried to get online or had it open for long. When I booted it the first time after this, it booted up but then when I started the virus scan thinking I have a virus or something, the computer froze up within 2 or 3 minutes. I had to do a hard shut down to turn it off. Then when I tried to boot again, back to the dreaded blue screen telling me I have no hard drive installed. I looked up how to open in safe mode and the instructions say to repeatedly hit F8 at the first sceen when I turn on the computer. I tried this until I thought I'd scream and it will not open in safe mode for me. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me. I believe I may have that malware virus that has hit a number of people I know but I can't get the darn computer to open to a screen where I can do anything about it. I can get to BIOS and I clicked on "reset to defaults" bu that hasn't helped anything either. Other than these things, I'm at a lose as to what I can/should do next.

Noob needs help with SQLPLUS

I googled all over, here is my problem:
I cannot run sqlplus from command dos window, I get that ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error, but I can run sqlplus from all programs--> oracleclient10g_1-->application development->SQLPLUS.
Why?

Making sqlplus work is one thing, but cloning a complete database is accelerating from 0 to 100 at the speed of a wink. I suggest you to get involved with recovery manager and recovery concepts. Beginner need help in sqlplus

i'm all the while using MySQL and recently trying out oracle.
i've installed sqlplus and trying it out but could not find the answer to my question.
in MySQL, we can write sql statement as follows:
mysql> select * from table1 \G;
In this case it will display in vertical format:
Example:
col1 : var1
col2 : var2
This is very useful and easy to see especially when your table has a lot of columns and especially the values for the column is long.
I could not find how sqlplus can do this.
Is there no other way to display the result in vertical format?

I recently tried downloading the IOS8 to my iPod 5th generation and when it was almost done the computer said there was an error. Right after that, the iPod shut down completely and now it's on recovery mode. I plugged it in and it said that I had to restore it and update it so I could use it again but it doesn't let me. What can I do? I even did a backup before the update.

yes i am sure. This are the exact words... "The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. The disk you are attempting to use is full. (Removing files and emptying the recycle bin will free up additional space". i tried some options, hard reset, redsnow, tinyumbrella but still it's stuck.

The ipod is locked in recovery mode. Everytime I plug it into the computer iTunes pops up and says it has detected ipod in recovery mode and it must be restored before using it with itunes.

No. You have to restore. To allow the restore try the following:
- A reset.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Manually placing the iPod in Recovery Mode
- Placing the iPod in DFU mode.

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.

URGENT! Currently abroad, need help with iMessage on 4S in Airplane Mode.

As stated in the description, I need help turning on my iMessage on my iPhone 4S that's in Airplane Mode. Before I left California for vacation abroad, I accidently turned it off, now having problems turning it back on. It reads, "Waiting for activation..." under the iMessage switch. I tried turning my phone off then back on, but the message was still there. Any tips on what I should do? Since I'm in another country, I don't want to take it off Airplane Mode till I'm back home in California.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like your device is in recovery mode. I understand you would like to back it up before updating to iOS 8.1 but cannot because you are in recovery mode. I would first suggest restarting your device to exit recovery mode.
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you put your device into recovery mode by mistake, restart it. Or you can wait 15 minutes and your device will exit recovery mode by itself.

Project Server 2013: I am using Project Server Permission Mode and need help with permission assignments?
How can I change Permissions for the individual users to see specific projects or all projects in project center and to see specific quick launch items?
For Example: if i have 4 users, A, B, C and D. what i want is:
User A can see everything and act as a project manager or Admin.
User B can view all projects in project centre but can change the schedule or resource assignment etc.
User C can only act as approver of projects and can view all projects in project centre.
User D can only view specific projects for which permissions are given.
can i have some expert help in sorting and understanding permission modes... as i was playing with project server mode permissions and can't figure out how to apply the above scenario to set of my user.

Actually, it will take a couple of days to explain in detail the security model that is a fundamental and tricky aspect of every PS implementation. But basically, you NEVER set permissions for a single user. You have groups in which your insert users. Groups
define "what users can do". Then you associate groups to a corresponding category. Categories define "what user can see". Thus the association of a group with a category will set "what the user can do on the objects he can see". Then, for more advanced security
level, you can use the RBS that will consist in "branches" in which you'll insert users. Based on those branches, you'll customize categories to fine-tune what user can see (for projects and resources) depending on the RBS branch and level.
I'd advice you to start "playing" in a test environment with the default categories/groups that might probably cover your need.
Concerning your 4 users:
user A : add him to the "administrator" group. Be careful that you're mentionning either project manager or administrator, which are 2 groups/categories with totally different permissions level.
user B : basically can see everything and change everything? it could be in the project manager group, assuming that there are no project visibility restrictions on the category via the RBS.
user C : waht do you mean by "approver"? Workflow approvals? Then it will be the portfolio manager group. Task update or timesheet approval? Then it is another long topic: please refer in the documentation to the "status manager" and "timesheet manager"
concepts. There are not related to the security model. In a few words, the status manager is the owner of the project plan, is defined for each task and approves tasks updates. The timesheet manager is an attribute defined for each resource in its parameters
and approves resource timesheet.
user D : you have to define which permission level must be given to this user. Basically it could be a team member that will see only projects he's in the project team. Note that team member cannot interact with the project plan in another way than submitting
timesheets and/or tasks updates which must be approved.
Once more, those are large and complex subjects that require a deep dive into your business model and tons of tests in a test environment.
