Need help with haivng more than one Ipod.....

Ok, I have gone through these posts and am still having trouble. I already had my daughters shuffle on our computer from last year. My husband and I both got Ipods for Christmas this year. I registered mine under a different email and created a new account for mine so it would be different than my daughters. As soon as I plug mine into the computer, it loads ALL of her songs onto mine. I had to restore my Ipod to delete all the songs but if I plug it in again, it will start to load all of her songs onto mine again. What am I doing wrong? I purchased one song to test it and it adds it to her list. I have seen the posts on here about making the seperate playlists but I have no clue what I am doing. All I know is that as soon as I plug mine back in, I am getting all her songs. What steps do I need to take to fix this. Please help!! With 3 Ipods, What is the best way for me to set this up. Anyone that can help please feel free to also email me directly, I am deseperate. Thanks!

I have just posted a similiar question - my son got an iPod for Christmas and I can't make a seperate account either. Here is a link that someone sent me...maybe it will help you.
The only thing that will help me is someone else coming over and doing this for me because I'm going out of my mind trying to fix it! Good luck.

  • URGENT! Help with creating more than one linked button

    Hi!
    Could someone help a newbie with trying to figure out this.
    I work in Flash CS3, AS3.
    I've created a button that links to another webpage by using this code (the code is added to a separate layer):
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    steud.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onMouseClick);
    function onMouseClick(e:MouseEvent):void
      var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.xx.html");
      navigateToURL(request, "_blank");
    It works just fine, but the problem is that I want to add more buttons (and links) to it, and thats where I get stuck. When I try just adding a new layer and adding the code there, everything stops working. I've also tried copy/pasting the code beneath the first one, with no results.
    Does anyone know?
    /J

    I will try
    I've modified this tutorial http://www.tutcity.com/view/create-a-sliding-content-with-back-and-forward-navigation.2394 7.html and the intent is to make a sliding menue that contains images of plants that link to the url of the plant. I've got buttons (with a mouse over effect that shows the name of the plant), and in AS2 I could use GetURL to link an invisible button to the URL, but to create the sliding effect, I had to use AS3. I've understood that GetURL doesn't work in AS3.
    In scene 1 I have three layers; content, arrows and actions.
    The actionscript looks like this:
    // File downloaded from www.riacodes.com
    import com.greensock.*;
    var arrayX :Array = [0,-800,-1600,-2400,-3200,-4000,-4800];
    var currentIndex : Number = 0;
    left_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,navigate);
    right_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,navigate);
    left_mc.buttonMode = true;
    right_mc.buttonMode = true;
    checkArrows();
    function navigate(e:MouseEvent):void{
    if(e.currentTarget == left_mc) currentIndex --;
    else currentIndex ++;
    checkArrows();
    TweenLite.to(content_mc,.5 ,{x:arrayX[currentIndex]});
    function checkArrows():void{
    if(currentIndex == 0) left_mc.visible = false;
    else if (currentIndex == arrayX.length - 1) right_mc.visible = false;
    else{
    left_mc.visible = true;
    right_mc.visible= true;
    On the content layer I have the backgroundimages that slides as a movieclip.
    If I doubleclick on the movieclip I have two layers, one with the bakground images and the invisible buttons, and one layer where I've put the script:
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    JC.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onMouseClick);
    function onMouseClick(e:MouseEvent):void
      var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.blomsterbolaget.se/vaxtsidor/Dracaena_fragrans_JC.html");
      navigateToURL(request, "_blank");
    JC is the instance name of one of my buttons. So far everything works, but I want to add linking to another button, and I'm not sure how to do this correctly. When I've created the invisible buttons, I've drawn a square, converted it to a button, named it, and named the instance name. Changed the Alpha to 0. I've also added an On mouse over effect, but I don't think that has anything to do with this.
    Hope you can help med!

  • Can I have more than one ipod with more than  music library on one computer

    I was just wondering if i could have 2 different ipods (one a 5th generation and the other ipod touch) with 2 different music libraries on the same computer and itunes? because right now im using my parents computer and my fiance is using my laptop and we're moving so we'll only have one computer in the next few weeks. So if anyone could try to give me an answer or have a solution that would be fantastic lol!

    See these articles about using more than one iPod on one computer, and with either one or more iTunes libraries.
    Multiple iPod installations.
    How to use multiple iPods with one computer.
    If you have the latest iTunes, an easy way to create a new library is to hold down the 'alt' key whilst opening iTunes (for Macs), or hold down the 'shift' key (for Windows).
    This will give you the option of either using the current iTunes library or creating a new one.
    There are various methods of transferring different songs to different iPods with a single iTunes library.
    One is to manage the songs manually.
    With this setting, you can drag and drop songs/playlists etc onto the iPod from iTunes, and also delete and/or edit songs which are currently on the iPod without affecting the iTunes library.
    If you wish to keep the convenience of automatic sync, then you could set the iPods to sync with "selected playlists". This setting can be found in the iPod summary screen under the 'music' tab. With this setting, different playlists can be transferred and later deleted from each iPod without affecting any playlists stored in iTunes or the playlists on the other iPods.
    Also, on the 'summary' main page you will see the option to "only sync checked items". With this setting selected, if you remove the check marks from any songs in iTunes, they will not be transferred to the iPod. You can restore the check mark if you want to put the songs back on the iPod at a later date.
    Be aware that when playing songs in iTunes, any songs that do not have a check mark against them will be skipped over and will not be played.

  • More than one ipod - help

    Can more than one ipod device be managed from a single computer? More importantly, can separate music libraries be used? I want to keep my music separate from my child's music, for a number of reasons. Thank you all in advance for your help.

    I dont think you can make seperate libraries, but you can just make a seperate playlist for you and your child. When you want to add a song to either playlist, just click and drag from the main library.

    Why can't I setup more than one ipod with the same e-mail account?

    Not really sure what you are doing that this doesn't work...I have an iPhone, iPad and iPod all using the same email account without any conflicts.  Can you explain a littl about what you are trying to do that isn't being allowed?

  • How Can I Update More Than One Ipod on the Same Computer?

    I've had my 30G Ipod since April 2006. For Christmas 2006, I bought my sister a 2G Ipod. I cannot figure out how to put songs on her Ipod as we both share the same computer and Itunes Library. I've already asked Ipod Corporate for help via their FAQ section regarding more than one Ipod operating with the same computer, but their advice (which told me to create a playlist small enough for her Ipod and checked as a shared playlist) did not work for me. I'd really appreciate any help with my problem. Owning an Ipod but being unable to listen to it, as I'm sure many people would agree, is quite annoying.

    There are basically two ways of using multiple iPods on a computer and these involve:
    a) Sharing a single iTunes library and user account.
    b) Creating multiple user accounts and having separate libraries.
    Sharing a Library
    If you want to share the one library, you can set either or all of the iPods so that they only get updated with only certain playlists (you can update from more than one if you wish):
    Loading songs onto iPod automatically - Windows
    Choosing the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" allows you to create a playlist specifically for the iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used some other time if you choose. You can read more about playlists at these links:
    iTunes: Creating playlists of your favorite songs
    How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes
    However since you seem to have a problem with that method you can choose to update any or all of the iPods manually and just drag whatever content you want to them: Managing content manually on iPod
    Separate User Accounts
    Another option is to create a separate User account for each person on your PC or Mac. Different accounts by definition would give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one. The iPod can be set to update however the owner chooses, sync all, manual or sync specific playlists

  • Problem with starting more than one SwingWorker

    Hello
    I wonder if anyone could tell me if there are known problems with starting more than one SwingWorker thread at once?
    In response to an action the user performs, I need to obtain several lists of things from the server. This includes a couple of server-calls, and I want to do the server calls in a thread outside the awt-event thread. So I start a couple of SwingWorker-threads. This works fine sometimes, but not always. Sometimes code in some of the SwingWorkers finished method does not update the ui. I can see that the correct calls are made, but the ui is still not updated correctly. The problem seems to be related to the sequence of when the different thread are finished. For instance, if the sequence is like this:
    SwingWorker1.construct
    SwingWorker2.construct
    SwingWorker1.finished
    SwingWorker2.finished
    Things go fine, but if the sequence is:
    SwingWorker1.construct
    SwingWorker1.finished
    SwingWorker2.construct
    SwingWorker2.finished
    the ui-updates in SwingWorker1.finished is not done correctly.
    Can anyone help me with this?

    This is the point:
    In one SwingWorker thread you have 1 construct method, and 1 finish method - which are both invoked once.
    Therefore you only have one opportunity to update the gui in that thread. This forces you to use many threads if you want regular updates, which I try to avoid.
    Therefore, the solution!
    Have a loop in the construct method that executes the algorithm accordingly, updating the gui accordingly at regular times, maintaining just the 1 thread - becomes easier and nicer for the programmer and the JVM.
    The finish method in this case is to update the gui when all iterations are finished.
    There is nothing wrong with this. Just because you have a finish method that is called in the event-dispatching thread doesn't mean that all your update code must be in there.
    What you MUST ensure is that ALL your update code is executed in the event-dispatching thread, that is the most important thing. After all, SwingWorker is just a helper class, not the gospel template of how to update a gui.

  • Connecting more than one ipod to one mac computer

    Can anyone please advise me on how I can connect more than one ipod to just the one mac computer. I need to set up 3 ipods to work on the one mac computer but each with there own itunes library. thanks

    When the iPods belong to two users, there are a couple of recommended methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Method one is to have individual Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one. Each iPod can be set to update however the owner chooses, sync all, manual or sync specific playlists.
    Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library. Have a look at this article and see what you think and go for whichever you feel suits your needs best: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
    Another option when using a single library is to set one or both of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod
    Choosing the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" (called Sync Music - Selected playlists in iTunes 7) allows you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod ( for example, around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB Mini or Nano). • Use of same iTune for more than one iPod

    I need to find out whether I can use the same itune in one computer for more than one iPod nano and one iPod video?

    I looked at the article, but it doesn't help me know how once I have downloaded onto a nano, for example, the itunes knows that the next thing I connect is something different. My son hooked up his 20GB ipod last night after updating his sister's nano and now the itunes thinks his ipod is a nano. How do I get the itunes to recognize his ipod as the 20GB it is?

    I have two kids using one computer, both have an ipod with two different song lists...
    Is it possible to sync separately and maintain their own stuff?

    There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library. Another option when using a single library is to set one or both of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod
