Need help writing client for WSE 1.0 Web Service

Hello all,
I am attempting to write Java clients against a .Net service that uses WSE 1.0. I can't seem to get any of toolkits I have tried to work with this service. Unfounately, I do not own the service, so I cannot upgrade it to WSE 2.0. The problem seems to be that the WSE 1.0 expects namespaces from the July 2002 version of WS-Security, while all the libraries I have tried (JWSDP, Oracle Web Service Wizard, etc) use the oasis namepsace from January 2004.
Can he one suggest an alternative? Is there a way to set the namespace sent in XWS-Security? I think this might solve the problem...
Thanks,
KS

Hi,
firstly JWSDP 1.5 is pretty old, the latest release of JWSDP is JWSDP 2.0 that happened late last year.
The problem is most likely happening due to a bug in JWSDP 1.5. If you dump the Message that is going over the wire you will probably see
SOAPAction : ""
SOAPAction : "<the correct action value>"
And this is the reason for the failure. I believe you are using SOAP 1.1 messages right ?
What you will need to do is upgrade to
JWSDP 2.0 and more important also upgrade your SAAJ jars in the JWSDP installation to SAAJ 1.3
https://saaj.dev.java.net/files/documents/52/32730/saaj1.3.zip
Alternatively, you can use Sun's Project Tango (Sun's Next Generation WebServices Interoperability Technology Offering) which has been tested to interoperate with Microsoft WCF.
http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/glassfish/ProjectTango/
You can download Project Tango by visiting the following page :
https://wsit.dev.java.net/
Look at the Try It section for instructions on how to use it.
Using the Netbeans Plugin you can develop a java client which can securely communicate with the .Net WebService. All you need to do for that is use Netbeans to create a Java WebService Client by pointing it to the WSDL of the .Net Service.
Let us know if this helped.
Thanks...

    When you just use the JAX-WS standard you do not need any WebLogic related classes to create a client for your web service.
    When the web service is deployed the WSDL can be accessed. By using this WSDL you can create your client by using tools
    such as wsimport (which comes with a JDK distribution and is located in the JDK_HOME/bin directory)
    wsimport -keep -d C:\YOUR_PROJECT\src http://hostname:port/context/SomeWebService?wsdlthe 'keep' option make sure the generated .java files are not thrown away.

  • JWSDP 1.5 client and WSE 2.0 Web Service

    Hello all
    This post is mostly about .Net and WSE 2.0 but here goes:
    Im securing a web service using WSE 2.0. One of the potential clients of the web service is a Java client using Sun JWSDP 1.5. The problem is that the java client gets the error Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction:, and when I look at the trace the error is:
    WSE841: An error occured processing an outgoing fault response. ---> System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHeaderException: Header http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/addressing:Action for ultimate recipient is required but not present in the message.
    The soap the java client is sending has no Action header and Im told it can not be changed. Therefore I have been trying to tell my service that actionheader is not required but without success.
    This is a actionheader the webservice accepts:
    <wsa:Action wsu:Id="Id-29db7046-313a-4675-9bf8-6446b9463aeb">http://tempuri.org/send</wsa:Action>
    What I have tried is to change the policy file
    This is the default:
    <!--MessagePredicate is used to require headers. This assertion should be used along with the Integrity assertion when the presence of the signed element is required. NOTE: this assertion does not do anything for enforcement (send-side) policy.-->
    <wsp:MessagePredicate wsp:Usage="wsp:Required" Dialect="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/2002/12/wsse#part">wsp:Body() wsp:Header(wsa:To) wsp:Header(wsa:Action) wsp:Header(wsa:MessageID) wse:Timestamp()</wsp:MessagePredicate>
    Here I tried to tell the service that only body and timestamp was required
    <wsp:MessagePredicate wsp:Usage="wsp:Required" Dialect="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/2002/12/wsse#part">wsp:Body() wse:Timestamp()</wsp:MessagePredicate>
    I have also tried to tell the web service everything was optional:
    <wsp:MessagePredicate wsp:Usage="wsp:Optional" Dialect="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/2002/12/wsse#part">wsp:Body() wsp:Header(wsa:To) wsp:Header(wsa:Action) wsp:Header(wsa:MessageID) wse:Timestamp()</wsp:MessagePredicate>
    I have also tried to skip the policy file and check on the the bodyparts in code but the error occurs before the webmethod is even invoked.
    It is my understanding that WS-specifications are optional and that the way to define which ones I want to use is via a policy file. Is that the correct understanding? I find it difficult to find good documentation on how to use different WS-specifications with WSE 2.0 enabled web service. Does anyone know of good documentation on WS-security using X509 certificates for signing?
    Does anyone have solution to this problem or ideas that might lead to solution?
    P.s. I have looked at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnbda/html/wssinteropjwsdp15.asp but I need an example where a java client is talking to a .Net WS. It would be very helpful

  • RUNNING PROXY CLIENT FOR X.509 CERTIFICATE WEB SERVICE THROWS SOAPFAULTEXCE

    Hi all!
    I have a problem on securing my web service.
    It's written: "Policy requires confidentialityenc key : 0"
    I found a few information here:
    https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/f?p=130:15:9796228426720331207::::p15_database_id,p15_docid,p15_show_header,p15_show_help,p15_black_frame,p15_font:BUG,7260434,1,1,1,helvetica
    Is it a bug? Please advice.

    Hi Talimeren,
    when you want to use certificates you have to setup SSL which you've started already. You have to get and import a server certificate which authenticates the server while the client creates a SSL connection. The cert has to assigned to the SSL port. For NW04 you can find the guide here http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f1/2de3be0382df45a398d3f9fb86a36a/frameset.htm
    If you want client authentication by certificates as well you have to import at least one root certificate from a certficate authority (CA) which you trust and by which all user certificates are signed.
    SAP delivers the IAIK library for WebAS security, but this depends on your WebAS version and installation. I suggest you setup SSL and try to make a connection. If the connection can be made, the security library should be there.

  • Need HELP passing raw SOAP to JAX-RPC Web Service

    Ive recently downloaded the web services development kit from the SUN site and have got all the examples to work fine.
    What I am now trying to do is pass RAW SOAP to the HelloWorld JAX-RPC example,
    Ive managed to get the service to call the sayHello function with no params which returns 'Hello NULL'.
    I can't however get any parameters to be passed to the sayHello function,
    Below is the existing SOAP ive got calling the function with no params.
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <soap:Envelope soap:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><soap:Body><sayHello xmlns="http://hello.org/wsdl">????????????</sayHello></soap:Body></soap:Envelope>
    If anybody could tell me what I need to replace ???????????? with then I would be more than gratefull.
    P.s If I changed the webservice to accept multiple arguments what would I need to put in my SOAP?
    Yours,
    Cris.

    Thanks for your help on this one. However there is still one thing I don`t understand.
    In the example SOAP I posted on the orignal message I have added the namespace ns1 pointing to
    http://hello.org/wsdl
    The example you posted goes to http://caller.org/wsdl
    below is SOAP you posted for me.
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:enc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
    xmlns:ns0="http://caller.org/wsdl"
    env:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
    <env:Body>
    <ns0:sayHello>
    <String_1 xsi:type="xsd:string">some text</String_1>
    </ns0:sayHello>
    </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>
    This returns me an error! However If I change ns0 to point to http://hello.org/wsdl it all works perfectly.....
    If you open a browser and go to http://hello.org/wsdl OR http://caller.org/wsdl neither URL points to anything!!!!!!! All the other namespaces used point to valid XML Schemas, which makes sense.
    So how can this SOAP message work if the namespace ns0 is nothing???????????
    Yours,
    Cris.

  • Need help writing script for Digital DAQ

    Hello,
    I am trying to write an aquisition program for digital input coming from a hall sensor.  I will be passing a magnet over a hall sensor on a motor and want to record the number of rotations.  I have pasted together a script based on various websites, but it isn't functioning the way I want.  I would like to be able to collect data points indefinately, or fixed, and then print out the resulting count.  I have attepted to use the ctypes wrapper in Python.  The NI functions remain unchanged though, so if you don't know Python it shouldn't be a problem to read.  I am using a NI PCI-6503.
    NI PCI-6503
    NI PCI-6503
    NI PCI-6503
    The code:
    # C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\DAQmx ANSI C\Analog In\Measure Voltage\Acq-Int Clk\Acq-IntClk.c
    import ctypes
    import numpy
    nidaq = ctypes.windll.nicaiu # load the DLL
    # Setup some typedefs and constants
    # to correspond with values in
    # C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\DAQmx ANSI C Dev\include\NIDAQmx.h
    # the typedefs
    int32 = ctypes.c_long
    uInt32 = ctypes.c_ulong
    uInt64 = ctypes.c_ulonglong
    float64 = ctypes.c_double
    TaskHandle = uInt32
    # the constants
    DAQmx_Val_ChanForAllLines = int32(0)
    def CHK(err):
    """a simple error checking routine"""
         if err < 0:
              buf_size = 200
              buf = ctypes.create_string_buffer('\000' * buf_size)
              nidaq.DAQmxGetErrorString(err,ctypes.byref(buf),buf_size)
              raise RuntimeError('nidaq call failed with error %d: %s'%(err,repr(buf.value)))
    # initialize variables
    taskHandle = TaskHandle(0)
    max_num_samples = 1000
    # array to gather points
    data = numpy.zeros((max_num_samples,),dtype=numpy.float64)
    # now, on with the program
    CHK(nidaq.DAQmxCreateTask("",ctypes.byref(taskHandle)))
    CHK(nidaq.DAQmxCreateDIChan(taskHandle,'Dev1/port1/line1',"", DAQmx_Val_ChanForAllLines))
    CHK(nidaq.DAQmxStartTask(taskHandle))
    read = int32()
    CHK(nidaq.DAQmxReadDigitalU32(taskHandle,int32(-1),float64(1),DAQmx_Val_GroupByChannel,data.ctypes.data,max_num_samples,ctypes.byref(read),None))
    print "Acquired %d points"%(read.value)
    if taskHandle.value != 0:
         nidaq.DAQmxStopTask(taskHandle)
         nidaq.DAQmxClearTask(taskHandle)
    print "End of program, press Enter key to quit"
    raw_input()
    This script returns "Acquired 1 points" immediately, regardless of how many times the hall sensor has been switched.
    I apologize for the sloppy code, but I understand very little of the underlying principles of these DAQ functions, despite reading their documentation.  Seeing as how the code does not return an error, I am hoping there is just a minor tweak or two that will be farily obvious to someone with more experience.
    Thanks

    Hey Daniel,
    Most of this script is from http://www.scipy.org/Cookbook/Data_Acquisition_with_NIDAQmx.
    I needed to run the ReadDigitalU32 function in Python loop because my DAQ device did not support timed aquistion and I don't have LabView.

  • In need of a client for Microsoft Remote Desktop (Terminal Services)

    Hi,
    I've got an old iMac which would be ideal to act as a "dumb terminal" for connecting to my employer's Microsoft Terminal Server.
    Is there any software for Mac OS 9.2.2 that will allow me to do this?
    I've got no other option like VNC because the company only allows us to connect to a Terminal Server.
    Thanks!

    Hi, thanks for your input.
    So far this is the only one I've found myself. Maybe it just doesn't exist. Back in them days compatibility with Windows wasn't so important as it is today

    the problem seems to lie in a combination of JDK 6 and a specific version of SAAJ that it has integrated. Different resources on the net indicate that if you use a newer version of SAAJ, 1.3.1 or higher, it should be fixed.

    Hey
    I need help writing a serverside application to submit
    information via API to a separate server.
    I have a client that uses constant contact for email

    FORM.asp :: (i got this one under control)

    SERVERSIDE.ASP

    Can anyone help get me going in the right direction?
    i have tried several things i found on the net and just cant
    get anyone to work correctly.
    One main issue i keep having is that if i get it to submit to
    the API url correctly - i get a success code, it doesnt redirect to
    the page i am trying to redirect to.
    ASP or ASP.NET code would be find.
    THANKS

    If you are submitting a form to a script on a remote server,
    and letting
    that script load content to the browser, YOU have no control
    over what it
    loads UNLESS there is some command you can send it that it
    will understand.
    No amount of ASP on your server is going to change what the
    remote script
    does.
    http://www.constantcontact.com/services/api/index.jsp
    they only allow their customers to see the instructions for
    the API so i
    can't search to see IF there is a redirect you can send with
    the form info.
    But posts on their support board say that there is.

  • Need help writing host program using LabView.

    Need help writing host program using LabView.
    Hello,
    I'm designing a HID device, and I want to write a host program using National Instrument's LabView. NI doesn't have any software support for USB, so I'm trying to write a few C dll files and link them to Call Library Functions. NI has some documentation on how to do this, but it's not exactly easy reading.
    I've written a few C console programs (running Win 2K) using the PC host software example for a HID device from John Hyde's book "USB by design", and they run ok. From Hyde's example program, I've written a few functions that use a few API functions each. This makes the main program more streamlined. The functions are; GetHIDPath, OpenHID, GetHIDInfo, Writ
    eHID, ReadHIC, and CloseHID. As I mentioned, my main program runs well with these functions.
    My strategy is to make dll files from these functions and load them into LabView Call Library Functions. However, I'm having a number of subtle problems in trying to do this. The big problem I'm having now are build errors when I try to build to a dll.
    I'm writing this post for a few reasons. First, I'm wondering if there are any LabView programmers who have already written USB HID host programs, and if they could give me some advice. Or, I would be grateful if a LabView or Visual C programmer could help me work out the programming problems that I'm having with my current program. If I get this LabView program working I would be happy to share it. I'm also wondering if there might already be any USB IHD LabView that I could download.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Need help writing small program!

    Hi. I'm learning Java programming, and I need help writing a small program. Please someone help me.
    Directions:
    Create a program called CerealCompare using an if-then-else structure that obtains the price and number of ounces in a box for two boxes of cereal. The program should then output which box costs less per ounce.

    class CerealCompare {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            // your code goes here
    }Hope that helps.
    P.S. Java does not have an if-then-else statement.

  • I need help writing a script that finds the first instance of a paragraph style and then changes it

    I need help writing a script that finds the first instance of a paragraph style and then changes it to another paragraph style.  I don't necessarily need someone to write the whole thing, by biggest problem is figuring how to find just the first instance of the paragraph style.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Hi,
    Do you mean first instance of the paragraph style
    - in a chosen story;
    - on some chosen page in every text frames, looking from its top to the bottom;
    - in a entire document, looking from its beginning to the end, including hidden layers, master pages, footnotes etc...?
    If story...
    You could set app.findTextPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle to your "Style".
    Story.findText() gives an array of matches. 1st array's element is a 1st occurence.
    so:
    Story.findText()[0].appliedParagraphStyle = Style_1;
    //==> this will change a paraStyle of 1st occurence of story to "Style_1".
    If other cases...
    You would need to be more accurate.
