Need help!---lookup connectionFactory failed after restart j2ee server!
hi,
I wonder anyone could help me to solve this context lookup problem described as bellows.i should say 'thanks' in advance!!!
At the end of the message i post the code used to lookup administered objects then create connection.
i use sun's default jms implementation (j2sdkee1.3.1) and jdk1.4 as environment.
The jms client will try to establish a new connection if the j2ee server restarts (perhaps due to remote j2ee server shutdown or network trouble) , but it fails to lookup topicConnectionFactory in the JNDI this time. An namingException will be caught :

Best Regards,
-bawanglongqiqiHi!
I've encountered a similar problem with looking up the Home-interface
of an EJB from a client through the InitialContext object after a
restart of the application server.
Try to set an additional property before creating your InitialContext
object that clears the JNDI cache (the property name seems to differ
between context factories - e.g. I'm using a WebSphere one and had to
set a WebSphere specific property name).
I'm sure you will find further info when you do a web search on "clear
JNDI cache" for your specific JNDI provider.
Kind regards,

What do I need J2EE server for ?
Hi
Can you please help me create a complite list of all components that needs J2EE server.
Not only Portal but R/3, BW, XI , Adobe forms , Work flow ...
Thanks
ZivThere are a lot of functionality that are in the "grey area". For example, SAP BI runs perfectly fine as AS-ABAP only but there are some functionality that require AS-JAVA. Your best bet is to find out what application / functionality you require from SAP, then research to see if what you are after requires AS-ABAP and/or AS-JAVA.

[email protected]hi llturro,
Thanks for answering my question. I have tried out what you suggested, but I still can't fix my problem. The following are the messages that display when I try to run my servlet. It seems that the DataSource, Connection and Statement are ok, however when it comes to the ResultSet the error message appear. What's wrong with my ResultSet coding ?
ResultSet rs = stat.executeQuery("SELECT ISBN FROM BOOKSINFO WHERE ISBN='"+primarykey+"'");
setEntityContext Method

DataSource OK
Connection OK

Could not connect to localhostI'm not sure the IOException is the real issue. It looks like there may be some other process using one of the ports the SDK is attempting to bind to. Did you try rebooting your machine and restarting the SDK? If there is another process using a port the SDK requires you may need to change the ports used by the SDK. You can find most of the port settings in the config directory in one of the properties files, depending which port you would like to change. Looks like the orb port is you issue so reboot or modify orb.properties.

JMS Application on J2EE server
Hi,
How can I run a simple PTP client-server application of JMS on windows platform? I am using a machine running windows 98, on which I have installed JDK1.3 and J2SDKEE1.2.1. I use J2EE server to deploy EJBs and Servlets on localmachine. I want to use the same J2EE server (J2SDKEE1.2.1 for windows) for JMS applications also. Please help me.
Paras.Sun's J2EE SDK 1.2.1 does not support JMS. In other words, it does not have a JMS provider.
You need to use Sun's J2EE SDK 1.3 to use the reference implementation of JMS API.
However, you could use JMS provider from other vendor and still use J2EE SDK 1.2.1 reference inplementation as your application server. -
When I try to run the J2EE server, I get an error saying "ERROR executing J2EE server" with the following system.err file: Does anyone know what I need to do ? Thanks.

Hi, I am a new comer in this field. I am fininding problem in starting the j2ee server.I have downloaded and installed C:\j2sdkee1.3.1 , c:\jdk1.3.1_03 , c:\j2eetutorial and c:\antroot\jakarta-ant-1.3. I am using windows 2000 professional OS and set the environment variables like JAVA_HOME : c:\jdk1.3.1_03, J2EE_HOME:C:\j2sdkee1.3.1 and ANT_HOME:c:\antroot\jakarta-ant-1.3.
set the path to %J2EE_HOME%\bin;%JAVA_HOME%\bin;%ANT_HOME%\bin; as per the instruction given in the J2EE tutorial preface.
When I type j2ee on the command prompt it says "j2ee is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file".
Can any one plese guide how I can start and go ahead with this tutorial. Is there any other setting i need to set or change.
Thanks,
anspHi,
If you're running j2ee on windows platform and you have outlook also loaded, close the outlook and try running j2ee again.
also set your class path to the jar file under $J2EE_HOME/lib/j2ee.jar:. before rest of your classpath
I have the same problem (with different message) on solaris.

How to deploy my web module to J2EE server?
hi, i used forte CE to create my web module and its working perfectly when i run it through forte CE.
I've created a .war file for my web module through forte CE via the command Export WAR.
I've set up my J2EE server and its running cause i can go to its index page.
Now the problem, through the deployment tool that come with J2EE, I created a new application and add my .war into it. Next I tried to deploy my application .ear file. The deployment is successful.
But when I tried to access my application through the browser, I got this error messages:
A Servlet Exception Has Occurred
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSPNote: sun.tools.javac.Main has been deprecated.
An error occurred at line: 2 in the jsp file: /searchQRStatus.jsp
Generated servlet error:
e:\j2sdkee1.3\repository\psa\web\qrstatus\_0002fsearchQRStatus_jsp.java:65: Class org.apache.jsp.ConnectionBean not found.
ConnectionBean connection = null;
I got repeated similiar error msgs for all my javabeans, ConnectionBean is one of them.
It seems that the server cannot find my javabean .java/.class files.
I only use jsp/javabeans/html/ms access database with ODBC connection.
1) How to solve my problems?
2) Do I need to set up a new ODBC 32bit System DSN for my database again, since the location for the database is different after deployment?
any help will be greatly appreciated..............thankzperhaps your J2EE server only has access to JRE and not JDK? ... you'll need the JDK to run JSP pages because they are compiled on-the-fly into servlets. just a thought.

Gabi405 errors in the HTTP cycle
Any client goes through the following cycle:
* Obtain an IP address from the IP name of your site (your site URL without the leading 'http://'). This lookup (conversion of IP name to IP address) is provided by domain name servers (DNSs).
* Open an IP socket connection to that IP address.
* Write an HTTP data stream through that socket.
* Receive an HTTP data stream back from your Web server in response. This data stream contains status codes whose values are determined by the HTTP protocol. Parse this data stream for status codes and other useful information.
This error occurs in the final step above when the client receives an HTTP status code that it recognises as '405'.
Resolving 405 errors - general
405 errors often arise with the POST method. You may be trying to introduce some kind of input form on your Web site, but not all ISPs allow the POST method necessary to process the form.
All 405 errors can be traced to configuration of the Web server and security governing access to the content of the Web site. -

I have created a J2EE Server Component Library project.
I have built the J2EE Server Component Library project to get the provider.xml file and place the provider.xml under the J2EE Server Component Library project's server folder.
Here is my problem:
=====================================================
I can't open the provider.xml with SAP's special editor for the provider.xml.
The special SAP editor doesn't exist for me.
Here is my question:
=====================================================
Q1) Do I copy/paste my JAR_X file where <jar_0> is located? (Below is the
J2EE Server Component Library SDA structure.)
Q2) If you were to update the provider.xml with notepad, what would you
type in provider.xml for JAR_X?
Q3) Is there anything else that I need to do?
Thanks,
Steve

Deploying a jar file into J2EE server
Hello,
I need to deploy a few jar files I need in my jsp pages I deploy into EP 6. I'm using SAP Web AS 6.40. I tried to copy them into F:\usr\sap\DEP\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server1\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\lib folder but after restarting J2EE server, I still have an error for each import I'm doing for the classes contained in my jar files.
I also tried to pu them in PORTALINF/lib folder of my project but it doesn't work.
Does anyone have an idea ?
Thank you !Hi Olivier,
you could try the following approach:
1. Package your JAR files as J2EE Engine libraries and deploy them on it as described here: <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/9f/2ade3fc6c6ec06e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Working with J2EE Libraries</a>.
2. Set reference to this library from the application that use them. Depending on your application, refer to the appropriate documentation:
-- reference from a J2EE app -> see <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/15/d5d93fe80fed06e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Referencing Libraries in Applications</a>
-- reference from a portal app -> see <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/02/788540ae1dbb4de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Referencing Elements</a>
Hope that helps! -

VENKATI had the same problem overhere.
If you would have taken the time to read some topics on this forum you would have found dozens of others having this problem like
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=136&thread=280211
Which gave the answer for me
That was: install the jdk141 and UNDEFINE any classpath and cpath in you environment setting.

Error when starting j2ee server, please help
JMS expert,
I am using j2sdkee1.3 with jdk1.3.1_01 over NT system. When I started JMS provider by "j2ee -verbose", I got an exception saying "TCP/IP ports(1050) in use by another process". Then I tried other port numbers like 1051 and 1061, the same error kept coming. What is the best port number I should use or whatelse I should do to solve this problem? Thanks.
