Need of Proxy settings

Hi,
Please post me the details of why we need proxy settings in detail...
1.why to Create a HTTP connection in the business system
2.why to Configuration Business system as local Integration Engine.
3.why we need a Connection between Business System and System Landscape Directory.
4.why to Maintain the SAP J2EE Connection Parameters for LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI in SAP J2EE engine
5.why to Maintain SLD access details in Transaction SLDAPICUST.
Thanks
D. Nisar

  • Httpurlconnection and Proxy settings

    hi all,
I wrote a servlet that uses an HTTPUrlConnection to get a page from a remote server and the code looks like this :
    url = new URL(urlstr);
    HttpURLConnection uc = null;
    System.getProperties().put( "proxySet", "true" );
    System.getProperties().put( "proxyHost", "[myproxyhost]");
    System.getProperties().put( "proxyPort", "[myproxyport]);
    uc = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
The code works fine for the particular connection.
If I need to get another page though another connection that needs no Proxy settings, it doesn't work.
How can I deactivate the proxy settings between the two connections?
And, finally, how can I leave the System settings in the same state as before the code execution?
    Thank you.
    Nicola

    You could trySystem.getProperties().put( "proxySet", "false" );to temporarily turn off the proxy settings. Or you could trySystem.getProperties().remove( "proxySet");
// and the other two similarlyto remove those system properties.

  • JWS not Inheriting PROXY settings from Netscape

    Hi!
We are using JWS 1.0.1_01 to launch our application, which needs the proxy settings of the user to connect via SSL to our servers.
We do not have any problems when the user does not use proxies to access the Internet or uses Internet Explorer as their default browser.
For users with Netscape 4.* as their default browsers, many users are not able to launch our application, as it can not find the proxy settings.
They can not download the sample applications of Java Web Start either.
They work fine if they make Internet Explore as their default browser or set the proxy manually in Java Web Start.
As our customers use some sort of scripts for proxy configurations we do not want to set the proxy manually in Java Web Start.
We want to use the proxy settings of the browser.
So I want to know if there is a known issue with Java Web Start not detecting the proxies automatically from Netscape.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    -Nawaz

Basically web start can only pick up the settings of whatever
happens to be the current Windows default browser. If that's Netscape then the Netscape settings will be used.
Since your clients are using a script to specify the proxy settings you should also be aware that there's an issue with web start 1.0_01 where it locates the proxy setting based on the first occurrence of the word "Proxy" in that script. This can cause issues if the first proxy
listed is for https only of even if the first occurrence of "proxy" is
    inside a comment.

  • IOS 5 Proxy settings

I'm using iphone configuration utility to create a profile for our enterprise wireless but the profile does not configure the manual proxy settings even when specified(specifiying proxy address, port number).  When I install the profile on the device (via email) it will prompt for credentials to connect to the wireless but does not connect to safari since the proxy settings are set to off, instead of the manual config specified in the file.  Anyone else experiencing this issue?
I'm looking to send users a pre-configured wireless profile so all they will need to do is enter their AD credentials when prompted to connect to wireless.  I noticed that even if the credentials are stored in the proxy configuration Safari will still prompt the user to enter credentials each day since Apple appears not to pass the credentials through.  While the user can manually configure this we are finding users are changing settings causing increased support calls so I'd like to install the certificate with password protection but need the proxy settings to be pre-defined.
I have tried this on several iPad 1 and 2's using 5.0 and 4.3.5 with no avail.

I am at a elementary school which purchased 400 iPod Touches.  I tried using the iphone config to deliver the proxy settings.  It will only place it on the iPod if I open up networks and tap on manual.  The only thing that is placed in the iPod is half of the port number, no proxy information.  If I have it off it won't place anything onto the iPod.  I am using iphone config 3.4 and tried it with my iphone with iOS 5.0 and it places the proxy information in but it will not collect the IP address right away.  It finally collects the information but then doesn't collect the client ID.  I tried renewing the lease but still nothing. After going in and out of safari several times it finally will load up a page.

  • Need a proxy but no other vpn settings.

I've tried everything I can try - I need a proxy setting at school for web browsing, but no other vpn settings. I can't seem to get the proxy settings to "stick".
Wireless network access painless otherwise - airport base stations or Trapeze.
    Rick Hein

    Rick Hein,
You are in the settings for all network connections. VPN is there because you could be utilizing VPN on both WiFi and EDGE. The proxy server setting you are seeing is there because some companies require all your traffic to go through a proxy while you are on VPN.
To get to the WiFi settings, while connected to the WiFi go to Settings -> WiFi-> The blue > next to the network you are on. There you can set connections for that network.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • I tried downloading new version but couldnt connect due to proxy settings. Then tried to delete download and revert to my current version but now unable to connect to internet at all which is def working as I can use my laptop. What do i need to do? Th

Internet and firefox worked, i downloaded new version which would not work due to proxy settings. I then deleted download and thought i could revert to current version but now I am unable to connect to the internet at all using mozilla or explorer. My internet connection is fine as Im able to use my laptop. Please help im not very good with computers. Thanks.
== i tried to download newer version of firefox

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".
See "Firefox connection settings" in [[Server not found]]
You can find the connection setting here: Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select ''No Proxy''

  • How to use proxy settings for one website

    Hello,
I have to access the only one website using Proxy settings and for others I don't need proxy to access. Is there a way to configure the internet settings to allow one website using Proxy... Please advise. Thanks!
    Regards,

I am also getting this "error".  The printer (8500 A910) connected to the web well enough that it went out and supposedly downloaded a new update, but then it was supposed to print a page showing the email address, but did not.
So I go in and try to set up the eprint, and it tells me it cannot connect to the sever and I'll need to enter a proxy address and port number.  But my ISP's cable modems do NOT have any static IP address nor do they provide any sort of proxy service.  Everything works just fine with "automatic discovery" (DHCP) for every computer in the house.  No problems there.
So, since  that's the case, of course I cannot look up some proxy address and port number in my web browser because they're all set up for "automatically detect settings".
What's baffling is that the printer connected to something at HP to download the "update", and it went through a process that appeared to be what I'd expect it to do if it was updating its firmware.  But it won't connect to whatever it's supposed to connect to to have an email address assigned.
Does HP supply a proxy server?  If so, what's its IP address or URL, and what port should a person set the printer to try to use?
    UPDATE:
It appears that the HP site must have just been "down" for about six or seven hours while I was trying to get the printer to connect because it now connected and I got an email address asigned without needing to have any "proxy" stuff set up at all.  It's a shame that the printer does not simply report "HP Site down - try again later" instead of reporting that you need to use a proxy when that's impossible.
"Now, on to the next problem which is that my emails to the assigned address are all bouncing with a "550 5.7.1 Command rejected" error!

  • How to make proxy settings in solaris 10 i386

    Dear Sir,
I need your help in making proxy settings in solaris 10 x86, as well as on SPARC.
i installed on virtual machine, and later i wanted to do the same on M4000 server. please help.
Why I need to set proxy?
I am on a co-orporate network, and it requires proxy to use internet to download packages for sun directly from sun machine.
What package I want to download?
I want to dowload CUPS to configure LINE PRINTER(ALIS5180).
What did i do to configure line printer?
1, i installed sun solaris 10 on a dell server to make it as a "print server"
2, with the print manager I configure "alis5180"
3, give the print command to test the printing.
4, I did not got success, coz it is not printing the document i want, it is printing junk.
5, i clear the cache of alis5180 printer.
    6, reset all the emulations ANSI, IBM Proprinter III XL, Epson FX-1180, Printronix® P600 & P 5000/6000, DEC® LG01, HP 2564C, Tally line/dot matrix printer, Epson FX 1180,
MTPL, contextual arabic, Twinax (IBM 4234/4210/5225)/Coax(IBM4234), HP LineJet HPLP Series, HP 256X no success.
    Conclusion:-
This is why I want to configure cups. and I need internet access on the print server to download the this package, and it require internet connection.

You could try the Dell site, but I doublt if they will have a driver for Solaris, Linux maybe but not Solaris. Otherwise try the DriverGuide web site. http://www.driverguide.com/
You could also try installing OpenSolaris if you don't specifically need Solaris 10. Better chance that OpenSolaris will support the NIC.

  • Steps to apply Proxy settings for all Server in a specific OU using Group Policy ?

    People,
I have several terminal server (2008 R2) running as RDSH in an OU called Terminal Servers.
So how can I create the GPO setting to make sure that everyone who login to this terminal server will be getting the proxy settings automatically to proxy.domain.com on port 3128 ?
I've created the GP object and then link it directly to the Terminal Servers OU using the following options:
User Configuration (Enabled) > Policies > Windows Settings > Internet Explorer Maintenance >
Connection/Proxy Settings > Enable proxy settings
But somehow when I login as myself and DOMAIN\Administrator the proxy settings in the IE11 is still unchecked with the old Proxy value and sometimes blank in some servers.

    >
    > User Configuration (Enabled) > Policies > Windows Settings > Internet
    > Explorer Maintenance >
    > Connection/Proxy Settings > Enable proxy settings
User policies apply to user objects - the servers will ignore them, and
as long as there is no user in your terminal servers OU, no one will get
    this setting.
Link your policy to the OUs where the users are, then use item level
targeting to filter for a security group you create for this purpose,
and add all your terminal servers to this group. Don't forget to reboot
the servers after changing group memberships...

  • How to access proxy settings in terminal

I want to use git in the terminal, but unfortunately I'm sometimes (but not always) behind a firewall that requires me to use a proxy server.
I've successfully set up environments for all these locations, including the proxy settings that are relevant in each context, but I'm unable to access them in the terminal (i.e. there's no HTTP_PROXY environment variable). My idea is to 'inherit' the system wide proxy settings in the terminal and use them to configure git.
Is there any way to access the proxy settings in the terminal.

In you home directory, create a file called .bash_profile (notice the leading dot)
    nano .bash_profile
    add to that file
    export HTTP_PROXY="http://your.proxy.information:nnn"
    Save the file
    Restart the Terminal session.
Command line Git should work via the environment variable you just created.
NOTE: you will need to use
    ls -a
to see the .bash_profile in a Terminal session, and because the leading dot makes it an invisible file, the Finder will not show it without some magic Finder Foo

  • BizTalk published WCF service throwing HTTP 404 error using ISA reverse proxy settings

I have published my schemas as a WCF service from BizTalk 2010 "Publish WCF Service" wizard. I used Wcf-basicHTTP adapter in receive port. I am able to run the service successfully on localhost IIS and I tested my biztalk solution by sending request using SOAP UI and got response successfully.... Now: Actually, I need to give this service endpoint to my vendor who will send request from outside my company's network i.e. internet. In my infrastrucrue BizTalk is behind the firewall so, we setup a REVERSE proxy server at DMZ layer and it is configured properly. I have tested a simple WCF service by replacing the localhost with Proxy server configured address <DNSName> and it worked absolutely fine. But when I change localhost in my BizTalk schema based published WCF service it is not working and I am getting following error. Really strugling to get it resolved. I wasted a whole 3 days....very upset. Please help me out by giving the detailed step solution. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. Requested URL: /BizTalkServiceInstance/MyService.svc I am surprized why other c# code based WCF services are working fine with reverse proxy settings. Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be found. Is there any special things to consider Biztalk exposed wcf servcie over ssl in IIS cluster with ISA

    Hi Singam :)
First I would start by browsing any other files (files other than the one from WCF) just to ensure that the reverse-proxy’s redirection rules are set correctly. If you get the same 404 error when you try to access other service/files “through reverse-proxy”,
then it’s an issue in the redirection rule(s) in reverse-proxy.
If others are fine i.e. no issue in reverse-proxy setup as such, then try the following for WCF service's web.config file. I have seen this issue in WCF service (not just BizTalk’s artifacts exposed as service in reverse-proxy). Add serviceHostingEnvironment
config as show with in serviceModel section.
    <system.serviceModel>
    <serviceHostingEnvironment aspNetCompatibilityEnabled="true" multipleSiteBindingsEnabled="true" />
    </system.serviceModel>

  • Windows 8 and IE10 and 11 not accepting Proxy Settings via Group Policy from windows server 2003

    Hi
We are still running Windows Server 2003 with a Win7 and Win8 desktop environment. I can control Win7 IE9 settings,
But Win8 systems are running IE10. We have an internal proxy server.
Is there any way to force the proxy settings to the Win8/IE10 or 11 systems .
i have tried with The IE 10 .adm template and applied gpo,but does not have any proxy settings for ie10 and no changes were applies
please can anyone help me regarding this
i want to apply GPO from windows server 2003  to windows 8 ie10/11
    Thanks
    KNC

    Hi,
I agree with Zanderol24, we can install RSAT on a windows8 client, and then we can use Group Policy Management to manage group policy from the client.
For more information about RSAT, we can refer to the following link:
Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) for Windows Client and Windows Server (dsforum2wiki)
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/2202.remote-server-administration-tools-rsat-for-windows-client-and-windows-server-dsforum2wiki.aspx
For more detailed information about how to use GPP to configure the proxy setting for ie10 and ie11, we can refer to the following link:
How to configure Group Policy Preference settings for Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2898604
When we use GPPs you need to be aware of the F5-F8 keys:
Red / Green: GP Preferences doesn’t work even though the policy applied and after gpupdate \force
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/grouppolicy/archive/2008/10/13/red-green-gp-preferences-doesn-t-work-even-though-the-policy-applied-and-after-gpupdate-force.aspx
Besides, aside from using group policy to manage IE, IEAK can also be used to do this.
For IEAK, the following article can be referred to for more information.
Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) Information and Downloads

  • SOAP Receiver Adapter Proxy Settings

    Hi Guys,
I am trying to send a SOAP message to an external webservice. I was able to get the message to arrive at the webservice when I used a proxy without user authenication.
I now need to get the SOAP adapter to use a proxy with user authenication.  I have added the username and password on the communication channel, but I keep getting the following response error:
com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML
Has anyone got a suggestion as to how I may go about fixing this problem?  Is there somewhere else that I need to configure the proxy server and user to allow the SOAP Receiver to send a message out?
    Thanks very much,
    Miguel

    Hi Abhy,
I have checked the settings and they appear to be correct according to the help files.
I know that it has something to do with the authenication in the proxy server because the only thing that I have changed is the proxy server from a server that required no authenication to one that requires authentication.  I have added the username and password and am getting this error.
According to the sap help, it is either a wrong target URL or invalid authentication.  But the url worked previously, so it is definitely something to do with the authenication.
I have added this info on the communication channel.  Is there somewhere else that I should add the proxy settings?
    Thanks,
    Miguel

  • Proxy settings moved from User to Machine not removing user settings.

    Hi All,
I have recently moved our company's proxy settings from User based to Machine based as we were having issues after moving from an internal proxy to a hosted external proxy.  What we found was after turning off the internal some users were no longer
    getting external internet.
After some investigation we found they were still getting old proxy settings on login and after a GPupdate.exe or normal gpupdate from the server the correct settings would apply. (happened to users logging on for the 1st time) To prevent this from happening
I moved the proxy settings to the Computer GPO and it all appeared to work in the test GPO and in live.  But a few days later we got some calls logged to our help desk stating they don't get external internet.  After some more
investigation we found that they are still getting the user policy applied to them even though it has all been removed from the User GPO.
I found if I remove the proxy settings it doesn't always apply to users but if I add info in it always updates to the user.  What can be causing this?  Some of these users have local admin rights and I thought at first it might be something they
did but now we are getting non admin users with these issues.
We are using IE 10 and have set the original Proxy settings using the GUI internet control panel and are now applying the proxy settings via Registry updates in the Computer GPO and enabled "Make Proxy settings per-machine" object.  Our SOE
is Win 7 ent x64 with IE 10 (1500 units) and Win 8.1 ent x64 IE11 (100 units) And some XP SP3 that are in the process of migrating to Win7.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Nat

    Hi Nat,
you wrote: I found if I remove the proxy settings it doesn't always apply to users but if I add info in it always updates to the user.
Does that also happen für new users now after you changed your settings to the computer settings?
I guess you used group policy preferences; that worked as "one time settings", so as long as the policy exists it will be merged with the Settings on the users computer. Please find a detailed description on
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn581922.aspx
So you now have 2 configuration items: your policy as well as the users registry. So to remove that you already moved the Settings from the user configuration to your Computers configuration (that worked as you described) while the Settings
in their HKCU are still there - you Need to either implement another  policy to remove that, or you can set it empty.
Don't set it to "not configured" as that will keep your old setting deployed before.
Sometimes I found in more easy to implement another user preference that removed the Registry key with the Registry keys to remove a Setting instead of Publishing a "remove Setting" configuration.

    Martin
