I am looking for Recovery Disks for my ENVY 17-1011NR. The unit came with Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium.
I am residing out of the US, and can not buy direct from HP. Regional offices of HP this end were not helpful. Can someone please help!!!

What offices of HP did you contact? In what place in the world do you reside? I live in the Netherlands. I have not heard that complaint before. Give it another try and let me know how it goes. PM me with your results.

I need recovery media for an old Toshiba but apparently can't order it. Help!

The other day my TOSHIBA laptop - MODEL # PSM43U-01700P - must've got a virus or something because it started to slow and was unable to open some programs. Thinking the computer was about to go, i started saving my personal files onto a disk, and just after doing so the computer Blue screened and now upon start up it stops and says that it's missing a file <Windows root>\System 32\ ntoskrnl.exe and must have it added in order to continue. I of course, however, didn't realize that upon buying the computer years ago that i should have created my own recovery disks, thinking foolishly that the company would always have this media on hand to order should the need for it arise(Plus i doubt i would've done it properly since i'm not really a computer genius, surprise, surprise)
Anyway. . .
My problem is that when i tried to order the recovery media for this ancient model, i was told that Toshiba no longer carries this models media at all. So i was just wondering if possibly there's a similar model's media that Toshiba does carry that i'd be able to order instead of this model's that would still work with my computer. I was able to do this with an old DELL I had, and was hoping the same thing was possible with a TOSHIBA.
I'm crossing my fingers here guys. Hope to hear back from you. I'd really appreciate it.

Getting New Hard disk from Toshiba for E45t-A4100 . Do I still need recovery media

Hi,
My hard drive crashed and after the online troubleshooting was directed to go for a new hard drive which I did as the laptop is in warranty.
However I am asked to get a recovery media too(as I do not have one created earlier).
My query is will the new hard drive not come with windows preinstalled. What extra will the recovery media have to help me. (Sorry if the questions sound dumb)

New hard drive is blank, recovery media is needed.
If the drive you have will load in safe mode you could try to burn your own recovery media, if not you will have to order recovery media.

Need Recovery Media for Satellite A660-042 Model PSAW3C-042017

The hard drive on my Satellite A660-042 Model PSAW3C-042017 died on me. I have installed a new HDD but need the RECOVERY MEDIA. The Laptop was purchased in Canada, Toshiba USA does not seem to have the Recovery Media for this model and Toshiba Canada will not mail it to the USA. Can anyone help?

I'm really surprised at that. Toshiba in the US mails them to Canada for US models.
Have you called 800-663-0378 yourself?
If that's true, you'll need to have an acquaintance order the discs and reship them.

Is it at all possible to have replacement recovery media sent for these machines or a possible download?

Hi Steve,
You can't download a recovery media or image from Toshiba, thats not possible.
You have two options: You can contact an ASP (authorized service provider) to get an new recovery disk or you order one on the website who was posted by Mike30.

I need recovery media for HP Pavilion dv7-1285dx Entertainment Notebook PC.

The hard drive failed and I replaced it with a new SSD. The recovery disks that came from the Geek Squad guys at Best Buy won't work. Best Buy said to get them from HP and they would reimburse me. I can't find out how to order them on the HP website.

The product specs for your model indicate it came with Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit.
I do not see that you can order recovery media online for your model so you will have to call HP at this number 1-(800) 474-6836, and see if they still carry them.
If not, you can still order a set from this non-HP vendor at the link below.

I need recovery media for my HP Touchsmart tm2t-2100 CTO.

I purchased my Tablet PC in December of 2010. It has worked great until it crashed in the middle of May this year (2012). I was not able to restore using system recovery through the F11 keys nor my DVD's. I own a full copy of Windows 7 Ultimate that I was able to use to at least have my PC running again. My files are also backed up on an HP external hardrive, so I am not concerned about losing any personal files.
Need HP Recovery Disks: What I would like to do is purchase HP recovery disks for my laptop, however, when I choose this option from the support site, a screen returns saying the webpage does not exist.
Tablet Software for Touchsmart: I have been unable to find the orginal HP software that essentially acts as a shell for my tablet. It allowed the laptop to behaved similarly to an iPad using an HP brower.
Hardrive Partions: My hardrive now has multiple partitions, rather than just 2 : System and Recovery. I am unable to extend/use portions of my drive.
Warranty: My laptop is still under warranty.
How can I restore my PC to out-of-box condition?

Pavilion DV6215CA Recovery Media Needed

I have a DV6215CA laptop with a failed Hard Drive. It was running Vista Home Premium (32-bit as far as I know). If I remove it and attach it to another computer, I can see the HP Recovery Partition and contents, but they may be damaged.
1) If the contents are undanaged, is there a way to create Recovery Media so that I can install a new hard drive and reinstall the system using another computer? Creating a Virtual Machine perhaps?
2) If I need Recovery Media, how do I order it? I have tried the various walk throughs on HP.com (and .ca) and all of them reference pages and screens that are old and no longer exist. That is, I remember the layout from a year or so ago, but the actual "Order Recovery Media" link isn't there.So, if you don't actually know that your link leads to the page to order the Recovery Media for this model, please don't share it. It only continues to disseminate old and useless information. Thank you. :-)

Can't install KB 2919355 and microsoft says must have the recovery media

I have been trying to install Microsoft's KB2919355 for at least two weeks. I spent two hours in chat with microsoft yesterday and they say now that I need recovery media because I have a corrupted file in my component services. I am running 8.1 pro. I don't have recovery media.,my toshiba laptop L875-s7208 came preinstalled with Win7 then I did the update from the free offer for windows8 through the Toshiba software center. I have no media....Can someone please help me!!!!

I was able to resolve my issue without having to do reinstall the OS. After spending hours on this and having Microsoft tell me that it was a bad image and I needed to reinstall the OS, I continued to look through error logs and the system event viewer and found that it was referring to an error coming from another machine on my network in my homegroup. So, I disconnected my pc from the homegroup we have setup, shutdown the other pc that was kicking out the error message, and walked through some of the troubleshooting again. and it worked. I was able to get all the updates installed and updated. Everything is now working fine.

One set of recovery media or two?

I have two laptops a L775, and a L645D. I'm not worried about anything but getting windows back on these machines, I can install the specific drivers and what not from this site. Both have 7 Premium COAs. I want to wipe and reinstall both. Do I need recovery media for each one, or will a recovery media set work on both as they have the same OS?

No problem. You can freely download and install any version of Windows 7. Microsoft sells activation - not Windows.

You have paid for the version that's preinstalled when you bought the laptop. If the OEM product key on the label doesn't enable activation, you can get it done with a phone call.
Installing all the drivers and utilities that make the laptop function properly, however, is a real chore. And the order of installation may matter. Better to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. That Windows is preactivated.

Encore WT7 recovery media

I purchased Encore WT7 from Amazon.com in January 2015, soon to be infected or damaged.I tried to recover the windows 8.1 and it soon to be crashed.EFI something the screen was showing letters and asking to click F12 key, but No such keys on the tablet.So I think I need recovery media , hopefully it is able to down load officaly to recover it. In fact, I tried it with using Hp tablet recovery media and somehow, contents were installed, but it is not fitting toshiba encore. Before create the recovery media, it soon to be crashed! and phone support asks extra charge, I am little disapointed with this. Encore WT7 need a down loadable media recovery.

Need to create second set of recovery media

First set of recovery media corrupts restore and unable to create second set which is needed. System stats below:
Product name: HP 15 Notebook PC
Windows 8.1 64-bit
Recovery Software:
Version 12.0.3.0
Error:
"This system is created from Recovery Media. You are only allowed to create one set of recovery media."
Is there anything I can do to get a second set cteate short of purchasing from HP? Al other options in the forums have either failed or doesnt apply.

Sorry, but the only way to get a second copy of the HP Recovery Media is to purchase it from HP or possibly a third party vendor.

Ora-01113: USERS01.dbf need's media recovery when starting database

Bear with me if this seems a stupid question. (I'm a developer and just starting to catch up the DBA job).
Our database server is down and when we tried to bring it back using DBA studio (logon as SYS), we got the following error: ora-01113: USERS01.dbf need's media recovery.
From the documentation I know I can do a media recovery on the datafile. But with the database not being open, how am I getting access to SQL plus and perform this task? I tried to log on using the SYS credential and I could not log on. Please help. Thanks very much. Changsong

Get connection from SQL*Plus at the command line to carry out that so:
export ORACLE_SID<database_sid>
sqlplus /nolog
conn / as sysdba
recover ....

I am at the mount stage of a database and yet be opened.at this stage any Query is available or any other way is there to find whether the database needs any media recovery or Instance recovery..?
my objective is before opening the database i need to make sure it is consistent or inconsistent and any form of recovery is needed..

Recovery Media created 5 factory restore discs as requested, however 6 were needed for my restore!

I clicked finish as there were no more discs requested when burning a set of 5 (as asked for by the HP Recovery Media software).
Now when I'm trying to do a factory restore, it asks for disc 6 which of course, I don't have.
As I re-formatted everything a little while back, I can't use F11(?) to restore anything back except by my discs. My notebook is a dv7t-4100 CTO. I live in Australia but a new set of recovery discs are only posted to USA & Canadian residents. Any ideas please?

They would send you the Recovery discs (if your still in the warranty) in Australia.
I once has to order Recovery discs for my laptop, I contacted HP by chatting with them online, and they have send the discs.
