Need sample code to get handle of Selected rows from ADF Table

Hi,
I am new to ADF. I have an ADF table based on VO object.On some button action,I need to get handle of selected rows in application module.
If anybody is having sample code to do this then please share with me.

To perform delete operation i have one delete button.

As normal delete operation is not working i am using programatic approach from bean method. This approach works with jdev 11.1.1.5.0 but fails on ver 11.1.1.5.3

JDev 11.1.1.5.3 sounds like you are using oracle apps as this not a normal jdev version.
as it works in 11.1.1.5.0 you probably hit a bug which you should file with support.oracle.com...
Somehow you get the first row instead of the current row (i guess). You should debug your code and make sure you get the current selected row in your bean code and not the first row.
This might be a problem with the bean scope too. Do you have the button (or table) inside a region? Wich scope does the bean have?
Anyway you can try to remove the iterator row you get

How to get selected entity from ADF Table

I'm using EJB and ADF Faces.
I have an ADF Table, and when a row is selected I'd like to be able to get the EJB Entity that was selected, is this feasible?
The reason I would like to do it, is for a Dialog. I have a popup dialog, and in the popup the user can do a search. The results are displayed in the ADF table. When supplying the return value from the dialog:
AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().returnFromDialog(?, null);
I would like ? to be the EJB entity representing the row, because I need to return the value of more than one of the columns. Is this not realistic, or should I just add then to a List and pass that back?

I hacked some code from the inbuilt JDeveloper Help. Are you saying there is an easier way than this, or did I state the question poorly and you gave an answer to something else? My english is not always perfect.

How to get large no of records from adf table

I'm working on adf.I'm using jdeveloper 11.1.1.5 version.In my adf application i have 1000 records in my adf table.I want to get the 500 selected records from that table at a time.But im not able to get huge number of records.How can i get the records from adf table.Please give me ur valuable suggestions.

Display and edit currently selected row of ADF Table in ADF Form

I have an ADF Read-only Table and ADF Form, which were created from the same Data Control.
I need to be able to edit the selected row of the table in the form (just like in "Binding Data Controls to your JSF page" part of "Developing RIA Web Applications with Oracle ADF" Tutorial). However, I can't figure out how to do this :(
I found the following solution on the Web: #{bindings.DeptView1.currentRow.dataProvider.dname} - but it doesn't work, since "the class oracle.jbo.server.ViewRowImpl does not have the property dataProvider".
Sorry for the newbie question.

Hi,
AFAIK, dataProvider is not supported on ADF BC, hence the error.
If you have created ADF Read only table and form from the same data control you just need to refresh the form based on table selection to show up the selected record, to do which you just need to add partialTriggers property to the panelFormLayout and set its value to the id of table

How to maintain selected row in adf table displayed after refresh

Hi,
I am using jdev 11g
I my jsf page I have a table with multiple rows.
When i scroll and click on one of the rows its selected but if the page is refreshed the row is always selected but not displayed.
I need to be able to maintain the selected row after the refresh of the page, so my table will look like its already scrolled to the selected row..
I tried to use the attribute displayRow="selected" but it won't do the trick.

SQL Server Store Procedure, selecting rows from multiple tables

i have got a store procedure that is pulling data from one table, now i have got the same data collected in a different table,
as the IDs are different i cannot put all data from the second table into the first one. so now i have to have two select statements in one store procedure. Although the corresponding data is same but the field names in both table are different. for instance
BRIEF_TITLE would be briefTitle in the second table. how can i merge the data from two different tables into one. the result is bonded to ASP.net grid view control.

This is redundancy. The idea of databases even before RDBMS, was to remove redundancy. Oh, columns are not fields. These are basic concepts.

NO! Where is your data dictionary that assures data elements have one and only one name everywhere in the enterprise! You are is serious trouble here. The data element names should be universal and used everywhere with the same casing, so that case sensitive
standards will work.

The quick kludge is a VIEW with the ISO-11179 names over the camelCase crap
The moron who did the second table does not know ISO-11179 Standards and missed the research that showed us that camelCase does not work. Your eye is trained to jump to an Uppercase letter since it is the start of a semantic unit (proper name, sentence, paragraph,
emphasis, etc). When we researched this stuff at AIRMICS, this could add 8-12% to the time to maintain code in large systems. Your eyes twitch!
You really need to get your act together with a good text editor/ pretty printer tools. Get a copy of my SQL Programming Style and adapt it to those tools.

Select rows from the table which don't exist in another table

Hi, in this relatively simple task I have some problem. I need to get the records from the T1 which don't exist in T2, based on some criteria.
here is my query:
select a.ordernum, sum(totchg), b.tracknum, rownum from T1 a, T2 b where 1=1 and a.ordernum not in( select ordernum from T2 ) and entrydate between to_date('06/23/2007','MM/dd/yyyy') and to_date('06/30/2007','MM/dd/yyyy') group by a.ordernum, b.tracknum, rownum
it suppose to return me "TRACKNUM" empty, however it's being returned populated.
I also tried :
select a.ordernum, sum(totchg),b.tracknum, rownum from T1 a,

You are trying to get a returned value field from T2 when you just said that the
records returned from Only T1 are not found in T2, therefore no T2 record to return.
You only get T1 records where the Ordernum key is not found in T2.

Change the background color of selected row in adf table

Hi,
Can somebody guide me in changing the background color of a row when its being selected. In my ADF table, one of the column is of type Command Link. So whenever i click this command link on any particular row that complete row color should change as an indication of that row being selected.
Please guide me to do this. I referred to other forum posts, but they couldnt meet my need.

</table>while I would prefer to get somethig like this:

</table>, which looks much smarter. Is it possible?

Getting list of selected Rows of a Table

Hi Experts,
Im having a table with 500 elements, among them i select few of them to process, for exmpl consider my table has 500 rows , where each row represents a Invoice Payment, among them only few i select and process those or reject those.
Now my problem is here when i select 1 Inv payment or 100 Inv Payments or 50 Inv Payments , i have to iterate throught the table node using for() loop to take the selected ones for processing, i.e i have to iterate 500 times, instead is there any single function that can give me only the list of selected elements, so iteration of 500 elements is avoided. So that performance is increased.

What you can do is use the onSelect event (fired when you click and select a row) to copy the row into another context node which is the same as your table context node. When you have selected all the records you want to process, then use the table which you copied the selected records to instead of the one which has 500 entries. Make sense?
