Need to call an Oracle Form from a stored procedure, any suggestions.

I have a stored procedure which runs on our 8i database on a scheduled basis. I have an Oracle Form (6i) that needs to be called automatically from this stored procedure. Any suggestions on how I might accomplish this?
Thanks,
Wes

You might be able to do this using a java stored procedure. I think you need to have version 8.1.6 or above to java stored procedures. Here's a couple of links that might help.

    Hi,
    I have a requirment where need to call a oracle form from within the Oracle APEX application?
    I will appriciate if can someone help me out.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    are you working with Forms 6i or 10g?
    If you want to call a forms 10g page. Just use a button with javascript:
    - Target type: URL
    - URL Target: javascript:window.open ('http://<server>:<port>/forms/frmservlet?config=<conf>','Forms window');
    With Forms 6i you can open the directory where your forms file is inside (works just with IE):
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function fnc_window()  {w = open('C:\\FormsFiles', "winLov","scrollbars=yes,resizable=no,width=600,height=400");
    if (w.opener == null)
    w.opener = self;
    </script>Or execute the forms file with vbscript (IE only):
    <script language = "vbscript">
    sub fnc_forms()
    dim progName
    progName = "c:\FormsFiles\myForm.exe"
    set oShell = createobject("wscript.shell") 'create a shell
    '***use the line below to call your app, defined above with the "progName" variable:
    oShell.run(progName)
    end sub
    </script>

  • Calling seeded oracle form from custom form

    Hi All,
    I wan't to call oracle seeded form for Item Entry(INVIDITM) from a custom oracle form in Inventory module. When I call the form using FND_FUNCTION.EXECUTE and pass item_id as one of the paarmeters, the seeded form open but with very limited capability to changes. Most of the field are disabled or non updateable.
    I wan't to know if its possible to open the seeded form in full change mode??
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
    You can open a form by typing an url in the browser.
    e.g. http://machine:port/forms90/f90servlet?config=...
    So, it is easy to place the call in your jsp (window.open)

  • Can we call an oracle form from OAF Page

    Hi,
    I have a requirement , wherein I should add a field to an existing OAF Page and when the user clicks on the field the oracle forms should open and after filling the details in the oracle form user will close the from and return to the OAF page.
    I would like to get some inputs on how this can be acheived.
    Please do help .

    Use this as an example.
    int orgId = pageContext.getOrgId();
    String destination = "form:SQLAP:DAV_PAYABLES_MGR:STANDARD:AP_APXINWKB_BATCH_SUMMARY_VIEW:INVOICE_ID=" invoiceId " ORG_ID="+orgId+" G_QUERY_FIND='FLASE'";
    pageContext.forwardImmediatelyToForm(destination);
    DAV_PAYABLES_MGR is the responsibility Key that you wanted to use and the user has that responsibility
    AP_APXINWKB_BATCH_SUMMARY_VIEW is the name of form. This is not the name of FMB but the form definition name

  • Calling XML API's from Java Stored Procedures in DB

    Hi,
    I am have and Oracle 10gR2 db installed and XML Publisher Enterprise Server 5.6.2.
    I have created the following Java Class and used loadjava to make it a Java Stored Procedure:
    <code>
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.lang.Object;
    import oracle.apps.xdo.XDOException;
    import oracle.apps.xdo.template.FOProcessor;
    import oracle.apps.xdo.template.RTFProcessor;
    public class callingXMLP{
    public static String rtfToXsl(String rtfFile, String xslFile)
    try {
    RTFProcessor rtfProcessor = new RTFProcessor(rtfFile); //Input RTF
    rtfProcessor.setOutput(xslFile);
    rtfProcessor.process();
    } catch (IOException IOE) {
    return" Error "+IOE.getMessage();}
    catch(XDOException XDE ){
    return" Error "+XDE.getMessage();
    return "Success";
    public static String mergeXmlXsl(String xmlFile, String xslFile, String outputFile)
    FOProcessor processor = new FOProcessor();
    processor.setData(xmlFile); //Input XML File
    processor.setTemplate(xslFile); //Input XSL File
    processor.setOutput(outputFile); //Ouput File
    processor.setOutputFormat(FOProcessor.FORMAT_PDF);
    //start processing
    try {
    processor.generate();
    catch (XDOException e){
    e.printStackTrace();
    //System.exit(1);
    return "Error - "+e.getMessage();
    //System.exit(0);
    return "Success";
    </code>
    I then wrap this using the following function spec in pl/sql:
    create or replace function callXMLP(input1 VARCHAR2, output1 VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2
    as language java name 'callingXMLP.rtfToXsl(java.lang.String,java.lang.String) return java.lang.String';
    and
    create or replace function mergeXMLXSL(xml VARCHAR2, xsl VARCHAR2, output VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2
    as language java name 'callingXMLP.mergeXmlXsl(java.lang.String,java.lang.String,java.lang.String) return java.lang.String';
    Calling the callXMLP function works fine, and produces an XSL file from the input RTF file as expected.
    When I run the mergeXMLXSL function, it says that the function has completed successfully, but it seems to be throwing an XDOException error as it is returning "Error - null" message from the Java.
    A PDF document is being created, but it does not have any content. I have also modified the Java to create an RTF instead, but still the same thing happens.
    Is there anything that I need to check, or something that I am missing when trying to create the final PDF document?
    Please help, I am completely stuck with this now.
    Many Thanks,
    Cj

  • Calling a report from a Stored Procedure

    Is it possible to call a Oracle Report from a Stored Procedure or a Packaged Stored Procedure. If Yes, please provide some details.
    Thanks
    Shalu

    Shalu,
    there's an API available to do this.The feature is called "event driven publishing" (because you can use this even from a trigger) and you can find the documentation here:

  • Calling Oracle Forms from ADF - refresh problem makes it unusable!

    Hi everybody!
    I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0 and I need to call an Oracle form (Forms 10g) inside my ADF application. I did exactly what explained in the Oracle doc at this link
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/adf/wilfred-adf-forms-099635.html
    and it works fine. I've put the code inside a region that is in a tab page of my ADF application. The problem is that EVERYTHING I do outside that form (changing tab page, pressing a button,...) makes the page refresh and my form resets (actually it's the applet that reloads).
    How can I avoid this? Is there any way to make the form stay alive even if ADF events trigger? As it is now launching a form inside ADF is completely useless.
    I posted this question also in the JDeveloper forum but nobody is answering so maybe here someone can help.
    Thanks in advance for any suggestion
    Roberto

    In Forms 11g, you can set the following parameter in the Forms Server's formsweb.cfg configuration file "legacy_lifecycle=true", which will prevent the applet restarting when the ADF pages are in between page loads. However, I dont know if this exists in 10g Forms. Give it a try.
    Thanks,
    Gavin

  • Automatically populating a Form from data stored in Access

    Hi,
    I need help automatically populating a form from data stored in Access. The form needs to have specific fields that are updated from an Access database. I want to be able to enter a site number and have the subsequent list of information (approximately 35 pieces of data) populate. I DO NOT want to update the Access database via the form. The form is for quick viewing and documentation only, not data entry. Currently I've been doing this with VB in Access which exported the data to a Word Document which was then saved as a PDF. It seems easier and less troublesome to go directly to the PDF form, but I can't figure out how!
    I have already connected my database to the form using OLEDB.
    I don't want a dropdown list and I don't want buttons to scroll through the sites (I've already found out how to do that through this forum).
    Any help would be very much appreciated!!

    Some more help to get started in this.. would be really appreciated..Are you trying to come up with the graphs yourself? IF so, are you familiar with MVC?

  • Call a Vbscript from a stored procedure

    Hi,
    I wonder is it possible to call a Vbscript from a stored procedure, any good reference for this.
    thanks

    Well here is quick and dirty example I just created.
    Step 1. Create a test_batch.bat file that creates a folder "c:\test_dir" and copy "c:emp.lst" into it.
    C:\oracle102\examples\test_batch.bat
    md c:\test_dir
    copy c:\emp.lst c:\test_dir
    Step2. From SQLPLUS, spool scott.emp into c:\emp.lst and call the batch from the dbms_scheduler that kicks off right away,
    set echo off
    set feedback off
    spool c:\emp.lst;
    select * from scott.emp;
    spool off;
    begin
         dbms_scheduler.create_job(job_name => 'run_batch',
         job_type => 'EXECUTABLE',
         job_action => 'C:\oracle102\examples\test_batch.bat',
         start_date => sysdate,
         enabled => true,
         comments => 'Run VB Script');
    end;
    Check if the directory is created and if the file is copied over. Task is to kick off the executable and test is the VBscript within the batch. Challenge is how long the script runs before the next statement in the PL/SQL runs. May be you have to introduce sleep in between.
    Note: You must have at least "CREATE JOB" privilege.
    Happy coding!

  • Call Oracle form from pl/sql

    Dear All
    How can I call Oracle form from pl/sql and open this form to end user
    many thanks

    Hshihadah wrote:
    how can I show this form to specific client ?What client?!? Database PL/SQL is executed within a process on the database server, it's not something which is executed on the client. Could you please elaborate a little bit more?
    By now I have not the faintest clue if you want to
    - call a form from another form ( call_form )
    - call a form within a database process (?!?)
    - call your form from a client you did not tell us (probably APEX?!?)
    For the case you really meant to call a form within Database PL/SQL: Just in case you didn't recognize it, but the database is perfectly capable of PL/SQL and as calling a form within a database process is a one-way street as you cannot interact with it there is no point at all in writing the things you want to do in forms. If you want some PL/SQL code executed on the database then...well...put it in a stored procedure in the database!
    cheers

  • How to call an Oracle Report from a Self Service HR page.

    Hi,
    I am trying to call an Oracle Report from a Self Service HR page. I personalized the page to add a button and link the report's URL to that button; but I am having issues passing/manipulating parameters to this report.
    Is there a better approach to do this, please post your suggestions. Also If you can direct me to some usefull documentation that will be great.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Tapash,
    Thanks for reponding.
    Here is the URL I am currently using :
    https://gccss.glendale.edu:8001/dev60cgi/rwcgi60?server=rep60_crp3+userid=apps/pswd@crp3+report=/u07/oracle/crp3appl/gcccus/11.5.0/reports/US/GCC_ACCRUAL_BAL_0505.rdf+desformat=html+paramform=yes+destype=cache+p_accesscode=""
    The p_accesscode is the parameter I need to pass to the Oracle report.
    Currently, when I click the button, it invokes the above URL and takes me to the parameter form of the Oracle report and when I enter the Username, it runs the report and displays the desired output. But, what I need to achieve is, to pass the current user who has logged in behind the scene and to get rid of the parameter screen totally. Is this doable ? If yes, please help me !!!
    Thanks

  • Setup needed to call a tuxedo service from a different machine

    Hi,
    I tried to search for the subject but I couldn't find a clear indication on the subject.
    I have a scenario where I need to call a Tuxedo Service from a different server (machine) than the one where Tuxedo is installed.
    What I need to know if it's possible and what exactly is the setup needed on this machine?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks :)

    Edited by: 986270 on Feb 5, 2013 8:21 AM

    Hi Wassim,
    Can you give a little more background and what you are trying to accomplish?
    If the machine that is making the call doesn't have Tuxedo installed on it (either full Tuxedo install or the client-only install), then you would have to use something like a web service client. If you want to use standard Tuxedo APIs instead, then you would need at a minimum the Tuxedo client install on the machine. If you have just the Tuxedo client installed, then you would be using the workstation protocol and would need to configure a WSL on the machine hosting the service.
    If full Tuxedo is installed on both machines, you can either configure the two machines as separate single machine domains (SHM mode), or configure them as a cluster (MP mode). In the former case, i.e., two separate domains, you would configure the Tuxedo domain gateway on each system to allow services to be shared between the domains. In the second case where the machines are clustered by Tuxedo, then there is nothing to do as Tuxedo will be able to route the request to the machine where the server offering the service is located.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is it possible to call a 9i Forms from a 6i Forms ?

    Hello,
    I have a customer using CRM 11.5.10.2 ( Database 9.2.0.6 / 6i Forms) and will be created a functionality in the CRM screen, where end user will call (via button) a custom application running on 9i Forms.
    Customer believes that there is a technical limitation to achieve that. That is, call a 9i Forms from a 6i Forms.
    Is it possible to call a 9i Forms from a 6i Forms ?
    Thank you in advanced for help,
    Marcos Souza.

    I should have thought so, as Forms 9i is exclusively web-driven, so how you launch the URL is immaterial as long as you use a supported browser. As your Forms 9i apps will invariably be on a remote web server, you'll not encounter compatibility issues either. And Forms 6 and 9 development is possible on the same PC using multiple Oracle Homes. Ask Oracle beforehand if you are still not convinced.
