Not at all. It is just that the other end is a CGI program, not a file. The CGI program expects you to pass it certain parameters. All that Javascript and HTML forms are what generates the appropriate paramters.
Programs like curl and wget have features specifically to send the required data. But first, you have to figure out what it wants to see. I'm sure there are a number of tools to help you do that. Basically, what you have to do is download the source HTML file and change it so it posts back to a CGI server on your machine. Then, your CGI server (Apache + perl, for example), can be configured to print out what the web page is sending it. Then, you can add the required data to curl and fake out the real webserver.
It can be an involved process. It needs to be something that is very tedious and repetitive that you want to automate. The owners of the website can, and will, change the parameters and break your script. Did I mention it can be an involved process?

  • Mp4 video file

    I have a desperate problem. I need to convert a mp4 video file to an avi. I do not have quicktime pro. Please help!!! It is for my church and I need some help.

    Download and use MPEG Streamclip. Note that AVI is a container, not a format; you will need to know what codecs they support to be certain of creating a compatible AVI.

  • Can I Transfer a Homemade MP4 Video to the iPod?

    How can I transfer a video from a non TV or Movie iTunes source to my iPod Nano 5Gen so I can view it there?
    The format for videos the iPod takes is MP4 VGA video H.264 w/AAC 30 fps. I have been able to export videos to MP4 using Quicktime Pro with the criteria below, then transfer them to the DCIM\000APPLE iPod folder and view them so long as I replace videos already in that folder with the exact same name. However, when I add new videos with the same criteria to the DCIM\000APPLE folder, they do not show up in Videos on the iPod.
    Quicktime Pro Export criteria:
    MP4
    Video
    H.264
    256 kbps, Optimized for Download
    640x480VGA
    Preserve aspect, Fit within size
    30 frame rate
    Key frame every 24

    As a matter of interest you can load videos of any length up to your iPods hard drive capacity.
    I have several 1.5 - 2 hour films which play perfectly.
    How long your battery will last if you play them is, of course, a different matter.

I ALREADY UPGRADED TO 7.5. WHY MY ITUNE IS STILL CONSIDER NON UPGRADE? HELP PLEASE...THANKS

    Try Cntrl-Alt-Del keys. Opens Task master window. Find processes with Ipod, Quicktime (iqtt...), apple,and on each one 'end process'. Close window. Go to Start, My Cmptr, programs. Find Ipod, quicktime, itunes programs and close each w/right click, delete. Then empty trash, restart. If more than 1 program, like itunes (2), (3), etc close in reverse order. Restart. Good Luck. If there's something you can do to 'thank' Steve Jobs for having such great customer support do so.

  • How do I Ensure that your MOV/MP4 video is exported through QuickTime conversion?

    I have a YouTube channel. I use Sony Vegas to render my mp4 projects, but my PC uses QuickTime & I'm VERY unfamiliar with it and/or how it works, how to access it. When I record a mp4 video, QuickTime needs to be involved, but I'm unsure how to even check or know where to go, to find out how to do that. I need ensure my mp4 video is exported through QuickTime conversion. I have no idea what it even means? Does anyone out there happen to have the knowledge I would need to check if in fact the video is being exported through QuickTime conversion? If so, I WOULD FOREVER BE IN DEBT TO YOU! I hope someone can help me figure this problem out. Thanks for taking the time to view my question, and if anyone does know, I'd greatly accept your advice! Thank you very much again!

    Hello,
    You can do this:  Set up a slow pulse train for CTR0 (1Hz).  Set up a continuous digital channel read for Port 0 Line 0 on your card.  Hook up CTR0 output (pin 5) to P0.0 (pin 10).  Start your program to do the counter output pulse train and continuous read.  You should see your digital line transition from high to low over time.  The examples you can use to set this up are Gen Dig Pulse Train-Continuous.vi and Cont Read Dig Chan-Int Clk.vi.  For Cont Read Dig Chan-Int Clk.vi, remove the DAQmx Timing VI to make it software timed, and connect the task handle and error wires accordingly. They can be ran from separate VI's as they don't use the same resources.
    To be exact on the verbage used, you can perform a self-test on the device by right clicking the device in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and select Self-Test.  As for testing the device manually, go with what I described above.

  • What HTML code do I need to get Adobe Flash to play an embedded MP4 video file (8 MB)?

    What HTML code do I need to get Adobe Flash to play an embedded MP4 video file (8 MB)?

    Here are a couple of ways, one using the Netstream class and the other using the FLVPlayback component.
    For the NetStream approach, the following in the timeline code will play/loop the intended mp4 file...
         var video:Video;
         var connect_nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
         connect_nc.connect(null);
         var stream_ns:NetStream = new NetStream(connect_nc);
         stream_ns.client = this;
         function netStatusHandler(p_evt:NetStatusEvent):void {
             if (p_evt.info.code == "NetStream.Play.Stop") {
                 stream_ns.seek(0); // to loop the video
         stream_ns.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, netStatusHandler);
         video = new Video();
         addChild(video);
         video.attachNetStream(stream_ns);
         stream_ns.play("path_to/your.mp4");
    For the FLVPlayback component, add it to the stage, give it an instance name ("fp" used below), assign your mp4 file ("path_to/your.mp4") as the source property in the Properties panel, and select the option to autoplay as well.  Place the following code in the timeline...
         fp.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, playAgain);
         function playAgain(evt:Event):void {
             fp.play();
    To put the Flash swf file in an html page, in the Publish Settings set it to publish an swf and an html page.  Publish the file an the html page will be created for you.

  • Slow export from MP4 to ipod video format

    can anyone tell me how to improve the convertion speed of MP4 video to Video ipod Format in Quicktime 7?
    it takes almost forever for even a small file like 4MB.

    I was reading somewhere that its the new codec that causes it to be so slow. It was at this link I believe...

  • I need to export Presenter 10 presentations as MP4. What can I do?

    I'm creating instructional presentations in Presenter 10, but have to have MP4 as an export option because my audience won't always have access to a browser. What can I do, other than buy something other than Presenter?

    Hi,
    Currently there is no way to export your presentation as mp4.
    However, just for your information you can create mp4 videos using Adobe Presenter Video Express.

    Please advise as to best setting to accomplish this.

    If it looks good on your tv it will look good at the cinema.
    The resolution will still be 720x480/576 if a dvd player is hooked up to the projector.

    I need to create an APP that runs on an Android Tablet to play mp4 video stored on the SDCARD.  I have tried using VideoPlayer and passing NULL to the Connect() method, but while this will play a video from a shockwave SWF it will not play it as an APP from a .apk file.

    There are several apps in the App Store. Look at them to see what might meet your needs. There is a keynote app that might be best for you.

    Unless you held down the Command key when dragging the iPhoto Library package to the flash drive you only copied the library.  How is the flash drive formatted?  If it was not OS X Extended (journaled) the integrity of the library's internal structure was probably compromised.
    If you don't have a current backup of your library do the following:
    1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
    2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

  • How can I keep the quality of an MP4 video high when I export an interactive PDF from InDesign?

    I am making an Interactive PDF with embedded MP4 video using InDesign.  When I view the video in the PDF it has degraded the quality and the colour contrast is poorly affected.  I can have the video as a floating window but this gives a harsh black line around the video when it plays which is not acceptable.
    Can anyone advise how to maintain the quality of the original video when it is embedded?

    You can control the quality of the video (aspect ratio, pixel dimensions, frames/minute, etc.) by using the Adobe Media Encoder which comes with InDesign CS5 or later installations, including InDesign CC. InDesign only includes what you have placed and passes it on to the PDF file. There are no video quality controls in InDesign.
    You cannot change the way Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader displays the MP4. If you don't like the way Acrobat/Reader handles display of a floating window, then you'll have to display it within the page. For more info, inquire in the Rich Media Acrobat forum.
