Need to implement filter on a recursive node.

Hi,
I have a table with a tree structure(TreeByNestingTableColumn) in its column. How do i apply filter on this table. For normal tables i have applied the generic table filter class for filtering. But how do i do the same on a recursive node??

Yes the hierarchy may be edited in future in BW,But not the Node...the nodes won't change...but may add few entries tot he exisisting node

Recursive node in xsd

Hello PI people.
I have a problem reguarding to a XSD file (standard DSML found here: [DSMLv2|http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/dsml/docs/DSMLv2.xsd]).
When I Import it as external definition to PI Integration builder it all works fine but if I undfold the message "Filter" the there is problem with the defintions for "not" and after one more fold on "and" or "or" the same problem is shown. It looks like PI understands the XSD but it just not permit recursive nodes?
Is it the XSD that dosent meet the PI standard or is it a internal thing in PI that needs to be activated to handle recursive nodes i XSD?
(When a message is mapped with this DSML all the error prone nodes are stripped..)

Once you open this excel document go to row 94 for Recursive Data Structures, it says it is supported but there is a reference to row 143 which says
Recursive data structure must be expanded in design-time manually to the desired depth
If what you are thinking is dynamic recursion, then it is not possible. You have to use Java Mapping/XSLT for that. Now as for the nodes not displaying, right-click on the node and then select expand recursive structure.

Need to loop through Recursive node

Hi Everyone,
I am having troubles looping through a node to get a boolean value called "Check".
Basically I am using the TreeNesteedInTable UI. One of the columns I display is the "Check" mentioned above. Basically the user can go through the tree structure and check his/her options. I should then be able to loop through this structure to get all the records "Checked". My application is not doing this.
At the moment I am looping through the top level node - think this is where my probelm is because this node can only be singleton! This means that I then have to loop through the Recusrsive node of this type to get the values as the recusrive is always non-singleton en must therefor contain the elements I am looking for. But, i do not know how tho get access to this node. Is this the correct way of doing it, or how should it be done otherwise?

How to get current node element for recursive node.

I have a requirement where I need to find the current node element of the recursive node.
I was trying following code for the same
Data:
selected_elem type ref to if_wd_context_element.
selected_elem = WDEVENT->GET_CONTEXT_ELEMENT( NAME = 'CONTEXT_ELEMENT' ).
selected_elem ->get_static_attributes(
    IMPORTING
      static_attributes = sel_attri ).
But it does not work for me and I always get 1st node value.
Please help me in this issue.

         If you implementing a simple tree ( not table tree ) and you want the selected element for
OnLoadChildren event .
Then create an importing parameter CONTEXT_ELEMENT of type IF_WD_CONTEXT_ELEMENT
in the event handler of onLoadChildren .
Webdynpro framework automatically filled up the context element with the current node in the tree .
I tried it , It really worked for me .
If you have a table tree then you need to create an importing parameter PATH of type String in tha event handler .
Webdynpro frame automatically fills the PATH .
the use can use the following method to get the element from the PATH .
wd_context->path_get_element( path ).
I tried it , It also worked for me .

Move recursive nodes (tree branches)

Hi experts.
I have a table with a nested tree and therefore a context structure with recursive nodes.
Is there a convenient way to move whole sub-branches including child nodes (and their child nodes).
When I just move the selected element by create & remove, all child nodes are lost.
Any idea to solve this in a good way?

I'm unsure how long this post will be on the forums, but here it goes.
Yes, customizing ADF in any way requires a lot of time.
ADF is build with the concept of less coding and more drag and drop. The framework tailored specifically to this requirement.
This means that if you use ADF, you must be willing to change business requirements if ADF does not easily allow you to implement them.
This is of course true for almost any Framework, but for ADF it is really extreme.
I need to go back to the business a lot when working with ADF, explaining that if we change this requirement development is a lot easier and that sometimes I'm even unsure if I can make it work in ADF.
But that said, most of the screen WILL work with basic drag and drop and minimal backing beans, ADF is worth it then.
If people try to convince you, you do not need to code at all with ADF, just ignore them.
They have never work on a real commercial project with real customers, simple as that.
On your question, I believe I did something similar in ADF 10.1.3, but I cannot find the code atm.
But yes, use the native Trinidad components, forget about the bindings for now, bindings will only make your time a lot harder.
Work with the underlying app module and the view objects directly.
There is no reason this should not work, but yes you will bypass the binding layer.
When I have to customize something, I start by checking if the ADF components allow me todo something declarative, this is hardly ever the case.
I changed to backing beans really fast, then I try to use the bindings, but I never spend much time on this and go directly to the underlying app module.

I solved this problem myself and it makes me very so tired.
I guess that Recursive node tree have some bugs.
If a node have one recursive node and one sub-node and some kinds of attributes,
we have to make a decision on how to display and sort them(sub-node and attributes)
There is a example below as I really want to sort them.

I need to implement 2 RAC nodes with linux redhat 5.
Right now I did ifconfig, and it shows:

I did not see any bond0 or bond 1.
I think oracle recommend privet interconnect to be bonded. We use CTP-BO , so I want to know should I request to bond the interface plus service?
What is the command to test that the interface are setup right?

Which version are you setting up and what are the requirements? IF you are discussing the use of NIC bonding for high availability beginning in 11.2.0.2 there is a concept of "High Availability IP" of HAIP as discussed in the pre-installation chapters,

Reading and modifying data in a recursive node

I am using a TreeByNesting column in a table UI element of my component.
For this purpose I have created a node in the context - ('TREE') which contains a recursive node - ('RECURSIVE_TREE').
What would be the simplest way to read the data from this node ? And how do I go about changing a single line of information
within the node ?

What would be the simplest way to read the data from this node?
Reading data from a recursive node is no different to reading any normal node. It's just that you have a very simple way of holding the same structure.
Once you have a reference to the element of a node (a single line of data), then updating it is no different to updating a line of a table.
More issues are associated with making and setting lead selections for an element (all parent elements also need to be lead selected and no child elements). Searching through the hierarchy, etc.
Where I have used this functionality I have often set up search tables with the key data that I want to search in a flat table and a reference to the corresponding element - much easier to search then - without having to resort to recursive coding!
Could you elaborate a little on what exactly you are having an issue with?

Business Add-Ins are a new SAP enhancement technique based on ABAP Objects. They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.
As with customer exits (SMOD/CMOD [Page 40]), two different views are available:
In the definition view, an application programmer predefines exit points in a source that allow specific industry sectors, partners, and customers to attach additional software to standard SAP source code without having to modify the original object.
In the implementation view, the users of Business Add-Ins can customize the logic they need or use a standard logic if one is available.
In contrast to customer exits, Business Add-Ins no longer assume a two-system infrastructure (SAP and customers), but instead allow for multiple levels of software development (by SAP, partners, and customers, and as country versions, industry solutions, and the like). Definitions and implementations of Business Add-Ins can be created at each level within such a system infrastructure.
SAP guarantees the upward compatibility of all Business Add-In interfaces. Release upgrades do not affect enhancement calls from within the standard software nor do they affect the validity of call interfaces. You do not have to register Business Add-Ins in SSCR.
The Business Add-In enhancement technique differentiates between enhancements that can only be implemented once and enhancements that can be used actively by any number of customers at the same time.

2>Goto SE24->Give class name as CL_EXITHANDLER->Display->double click on get_instance mathod->Now u will go inside the method->Now put break point on the cl_exithandler.Now go to any transaction code and pass dat..U will see that it will be stopped on the break point which u set on the cl_exithandler...In the exit name u can find list of badi's attached to the tcode..
There are multiple ways of searching for BADI.
Finding BADI Using CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE
Finding BADI Using SQL Trace (TCODE-ST05).
Finding BADI Using Repository Information System (TCODE- SE84).
1. Go to the Transaction, for which we want to find the BADI, take the example of Transaction VD02. Click on System->Status. Double click on the program name. Once inside the program search for CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE.
Make sure the radio button In main program is checked. A list of all the programs with call to the BADIs will be listed.
The export parameter EXIT_NAME for the method GET_INSTANCE of class CL_EXITHANDLER will have the user exit assigned to it. The changing parameter INSTANCE will have the interface assigned to it. Double click on the method to enter the source code.Definition of Instance would give you the Interface name.
2. Start transaction ST05 (Performance Analysis).
Set flag field "Buffer trace"
Remark: We need to trace also the buffer calls, because BADI database tables are buffered. (Especially view V_EXT_IMP and V_EXT_ACT)
Push the button "Activate Trace". Start transaction VA02 in a new GUI session. Go back to the Performance trace session.
Push the button "Deactivate Trace".
Push the button "Display Trace".
The popup screen "Set Restrictions for Displaying Trace" appears.
Now, filter the trace on Objects:
V_EXT_IMP
V_EXT_ACT
Push button "Multiple selections" button behind field Objects
Fill: V_EXT_IMP and V_EXT_ACT
All the interface class names of view V_EXT_IMP start with IF_EX_. This is the standard SAP prefix for BADI class interfaces. The BADI name is after the IF_EX_.
So the BADI name of IF_EX_CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA is CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA
3. Go to Maintain Transaction (TCODE- SE93).
Enter the Transaction VD02 for which you want to find BADI.
Click on the Display push buttons.
Get the Package Name. (Package VS in this case)
Go to TCode: SE84->Enhancements->Business Add-inns->Definition
Enter the Package Name and Execute.
Here you get a list of all the Enhancement BADIs for the given package MB.
The simplese way for finding BADI is
1. chooes Tcode Program & package for that Tcode.
2. Go to Tcode se18
3. Press F4
4. search by package or by program.

I need to get the tagName after a node of the first child of the Root

I need to get the TagName of the Node immediete after the Root. I won't know what is the TagName, and based on the Tagname only I can process the records.
For example I might receive a SALES object or a MARKETING object wrapped under the root.

I tried to using like this
               DocumentBuilder documentBuilder = documentBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
               File file = new File("c:/example.xml");
               document = documentBuilder.parse(file);
               Node node = document.getDocumentElement().getFirstChild();
               System.out.println("node Name:" +node.getNodeName());
               System.out.println("node Value:" +node.getNodeValue());
It returns only something like #text, but I need the response like 'SALES'.
Can anyone let me know if im missing something somewhere.

That's because the first child of the document element is that whitespace text node between <PARENT> and <SALES>. You need to scan through the children of the document element until you find one that is an Element node.

I need to get the tagName of a node of the first child of the Root

Hi All,
I need to get the TagName of the Node immediete after the Root. I won't know what is the TagName, and based on the Tagname only I can process the records.
For example I might receive a SALES object or a MARKETING object wrapped under the root.
eg.
<PARENT>
<SALES>
</SALES>
</PARENT>
or
<PARENT>
<MARKETING>
</MARKETING>
</PARENT>

but still i couldn't get the tag name even after using setIgnoringElementContentWhitespace true.

          try
               DocumentBuilder documentBuilder = documentBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder();

Hi Experts ,
I have a datatype part of sap standard content which has a recursive node ( poniting to itself).
I have to copy it to a local name space and use it . When i try to copy it and activate it i am getting this
error .

Hi Anil,
When you copy it local namespace, verify the namespace is local or the one which is poiting to itself.
If this is pointing itself, manually you change the namespace which you want and activate it.
