Need to replace infinite value as 0 or NA

Hi All,
I have a requirement where we have a calculated keyfigure it has 0/number, so it is giving as infinite value as 'X'. I want to replace with NA or 0. Is this possible. If so please help me to achive this.
Thanks in Advance
Sathiya

Hi Sathiya,
You can try this in an End routine of the transformation. By simple if condition you can do this. While loading the data it will fill the value with the value which you have specified.

• How to Replace Null Value as 0 in an OBIEE11g Pivot Table? it's working 10g

Hi,
How to Replace Null Value as 0 in an OBIEE11g Pivot Table? it's working in obiee10g version.
We have tried below methods
1) criteria tab and edit the ‘column properties’ associated with your fact measure. Choose the ‘Data Format’ tab, tick to override the default format and choose ‘Custom’.
It seems that the syntax for this custom format is positive-value-mask (semi colon) negative-value-mask (semi colon) null-mask. So this means we have a few options.
E.g. if you want zeros (0) instead of null then enter:
#,##0;-#,##0;0
2) in that formula columns we have put it below case condition also ,
Measure Column: Nom_amt --> edit formulas
CASE WHEN Nom_amt IS NULL THEN 0 ELSE Nom_amt END
3) we have uncheked IS NULL check box in the admin tool also
I tried above formats still it's not working for me..kindly help me on this..
thanks to do the needfull

Dear Venkat.
You please try the following steps:
1. Say the InfoObject is 0EMPLOYEE against which you have created the variable, which user is trying to select value against, when they execute the report.
2. Goto RSA1-> InfoObject tab-> Select InfoObject 0EMPLOYEE.
3. Selcet the following options:
Query Execution Filter Val. Selectn - 'Only Posted Value for Navigation'
Filter Value Repr. At Query Exec. - 'Selector Box Without Values'

• Replacing the value in a list

All,
A quick question. How do we replace the value of role attribute with some other value? When I try to set it, the new role is just getting appended. I wanted to remove the olde role and set the new role. I know I can remove the roles by setting . is there any thing similar to replace as well?
Thanks,
BIju.

Actually Biju, is exactly what you need - it is replace, not remove.
= Add and is the default behavior, as you've seen
= Delete and will clear all values for the attribute
= Replace - it will delete all existing values and add whatever values follow the like:
<newrolename>

• Replacing attribute value during runtime?

Ok Here we go... Is it possible to replace the value of an attribute during query runtime???
Here is what my user wants...They want the value of an attribute in a query (no the input selection) to change according to the current date for example:
If today is monday then the value of 0VTYPE in a query is 10.
If today is tuesday the same value of 0VTYPE in the same query would by 20.

We need to use "Key Date" concept.
Think you should get some idea by this link.

• Replacing a value of a node with CDATA (as is)

Hi All,
How do I replace the value of a node such that it's CDATA format is preserved and not re-encoded. Currently, when I do similar to the following:
replace value of node doc(doc_name)/parent/node with "[the data]"
the less than and greater than signs are replaced with &lt ; and &gt ; respectively, losing its CDATA section status.
How do I replace the value such that within the resulting XML it is exactly "[the data]" and not "&lt ;[CDATA[]the data]]&gt ;" ?
Thanks in advance

John,
I am aware that it's synatic sugar. However, I actually need it to look that way. Thing is after edits, the resulting XML will be read by a component (that I have no access to change) which requires that node to have CDATA (as is) as it's value.
Anymore ideas; Anyone?
Instead of replacing the value (ie. replace value of node doc()...), I replaced the node (ie. replace node doc()...) with something similar to: <node>CDATA-section</node>. However, as expected only the data within the CDATA section gets persisted.
In this case could I turn something off or on such that xmldb leaves the CDATA-section as is? e.g. http://www.xquery.com/tips_and_tricks/including_CDATA_in_results.html
Thanks,

• Accessing a JSTL variable in a JSP Scriptlet (need to replace string )

I have
<c:set var="myVar" value="..." />
I need to replace single quotes and double quotes to be escaped because I pass them into javascript functions and set them as ID for div sections
... onclick ="func('${myVar}')" ..

but if the string contains ' single quotes it messes up the javascript or double quotes messes up the ID portion of the HTML tag
I know there is the JSTL function fn but I can't figure out how to do it properly in JSTL
<c:set var="myVar"
value="${fn:replace(myVar, "'", "\"")"/>
But that gets tricky since the value portion is enclosed in quotes
So I was thinking of using a Scriptlet part instead.

Recipe for a headache if ever there was one.
However you must be strong and resist the temptations of the dark side (Scriptlet code)
My suggestion for cleaning this up - write your own static function for escaping javascript strings.
public static String escapeJavascriptString(String s){

}Then define the function in a tld:

I understand that OUt parameter should not be used in funtions... Then I am eager to know, why oracle has provided the opton of OUT Parameter in funtion creation ? Hope you can explain that..This is an option is many languages.
And there is valid use for it. PL/SQL however does not implement the full solution. An OUT parameter is essentially passing parameters by reference and not passing it by value.
Passing by reference means passing a pointer to the function/procedure to the variable in the caller. This allows the function/procedure to directly reference the value in the caller.
Passing by value means that the value from the variable in the caller is copied to the stack space of the function/procedure being called. The function/procedure thus has its own local copy of that value.
That could be a performance and resource problem when the caller has a large data structure and the entire structure needs to be copied from the caller to the called procedure/function. In such a case it is a lot faster (and less memory needed) to simply pass a pointer to that structure to the function/procedure being called.
And this is basically what an OUT parameter does - it allows PL/SQL code direct access to write into the variable of the calling code.
In some cases you may have a large data structure, want to pass it by reference, but do not want the function/procedure being called to change it. You do not want to allow it modify your large data structure. You simply want to pass a pointer and allow read access to the function/procedure.
In other languages, such a parameter is defined as a constant - as constants cannot be changed. So the parameter signature will look something like the following:
create or replace function FooFunc( largeStruct CONSTANT IN OUT NOCOPY SomeDataType ) return SomeOtherDataType is ..And this is the only time that you should use an OUT parameter (passing by reference) in a function - when the function parameter is a large data structure. At the same time, the function is disallowed from changing that OUT parameter. It is passed as an OUT parameter simply to increase call performance and reduce memory requirements.
PL/SQL unfortunately does not support this - allowing a value to be passed as a constant reference.
As for why PL/SQL supports it the way it does - it does not mean that because PL/SQL supports OUT parameters for functions, it should be used. PL/SQL also supports the GoTo statement. Simply because it supports a specific feature does not mean that it is a good idea to use it.

• Replace text values

Hello.
I have problem with replacing values in text channels and I can't find solution.
I have couple of channels filled with only 2 values: OK and NOK. How can I replace these values with for example 1 for OK and 0 for NOK ?
This replacement is needed for a chart drawing. With current values I can't draw the chart because Diadem don't accept text values as a scale.
Thanks in advance :-)
Solved!

Hello Domin,
Here is another easy way to solve this.
Open the Calculator in DIAdem (either in VIEW, ANALYSIS or SCRIPT) - it's in the toolbar.
Type the following line into the calculator:
Ch("New Test") = -(Ch("[1]/Test")="ok")
In this line of code, I am creating a new data channel called "New Test," and I am referencing the channel "Test" in group one in the Data Portal. Make sure to subsitute your chanel group and name. Please note that this is also case sensitive, so use "OK" instead of "ok" depending on how this is written in the data channel
A new data channel will be created that contains "0" (for any line that's not "OK") and "1" (for the lines that contain "OK").
You can turn this into a Script by adding a call to the calculator:
Call Calculate("Ch(""New Test"") = -(Ch(""[1]/Test"")=""ok"")",NULL,NULL,"")
I hope that helps, it doen't really get much easier than that. And this is very fast as well, if you have long channels.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance,

• Replace different values in different cells

Hi,
I am new to LabVIEW and work with an instrument that gets it's settings from an Excel file. I need to change those settings in Excel with LabVIEW. The Excel file is formated in .xls (97-2003 version). The PC has Microsoft Office 2013 installed.
I am using LabVIEW 2014 (64-bit).
Task:
I want to change the values in 3 different cells in an Excel spreadsheet and save the workbook (not SaveAs).
The main vi is saved in the library in the zip file, it is called 'change 3 values in excel.vi'.
The excel file is attached separately.
I don't think it matters where those cells are in the Excel worksheet, the Excel memory seems to keep the cell selection of all cells in mind but replaces the value with the last one mentioned in the last sub vi.
Problem:
1) All cells change to the same value that I define in the third sub vi.
2) Excel asks me for SaveAs and doesn't just save over the existing file.
3) The Excel application doesn't close but I can't seem to figure out why.
Please advice. Help on any of those issues is highly appreciated.
Thank you!

Here is how I would do this. I would use the Report Generation Toolkit (which is included in LabVIEW 2014). This Example is a simplified version of your task -- you are given the name of an existing Excel Workbook to modify, the index of the Worksheet to use, the Excel Cell address (in Excel format, i.e. A1, for purposes of illustration), and the Cell Value that you want to insert there.
The first function is New Report, which is a slight misnomer, as we are using it as "Replace Report" by wiring in the name of the existing Report, and specifying that we mean an Excel Report (it will open Excel -- if you don't want the Workbook to be visible, open it Minimized). We next call Excel Get Worksheet (which isn't necessary if we are using the first Worksheet ...). We use Excel Easy Table to put the Cell Value into the chosedn Excel Cell. To do this, we first use Excel Get Excel Location to convert, say, B3, to row/column indices (B3 = 1, 2) and bundle this into a Cluster. We also need to convert the Cell Value into a 2D Table which we do by passing it through two Build Array functions. Next we Save Report to File using the original Excel Workbook path, and finally we Dispose Report to turn off Excel.
If you had multiple cells you wanted to update, I would bundle Excel Cell and Cell Value into a cluster, build an array of clusters, then put the Excel Easy Table function into a For loop and do the updates one at a time.
This should work extremely quickly -- the entire process should take a fraction of a second.

• How to replace NULL values from main table

Dear all,
I like to remove the NULL values from a main table field. Or the question is how to replace any part of the string field in MDM repository main table field.
e.g. I have a middle name field partly the value is NULL in some hundreds of records, I like to replace NULL values with Space
any recommendation.
Regards,
Naeem

Hi Naeem,
You can try using Workflows for automatically replacing NULLs with any specific value.
What you can do is: Create a workflow and set trigger action as Record Import, Record Create and Record Update. So, that whenever any change will occur in the repository; that workflow will trigger.
Now create an assignment expression for replacing NULLs with any specific value and use that assignment expression in your workflow by using Assign Step in workflow.
For exiting records, you will have to replace NULLs manually using the process given by Preethi else you can export those records in an Excel spreadsheet which have NULLs and then replace all NULLs with any string value and then reimport those records in your MDM repository.
Hope this will solve your problem.
