Need to send notification to user when salary added or updated on Salary form (11.5.10.2)

We do not have AME so workflows are not available to us, but I need to find a way to send notifications to users/managers of salary changes. When a user adds or updates a salary, it needs to go to a second user for approval. The second user is not going to know to approve without a notification that one is ready to approve. Can someone help me set this up? I don't see anywhere in the form where it can be personalized. Is there a simple way to do this? I see from blogs that some used an alert which fired when the salary admin record is inserted and sent a message to the manager. The manager could then go back into the salary admin form with the salary admin:approve profile on and approve it. Or if that wouldn't work, then to use a trigger. Where would these be done at using the Salary form?
Any help would be appreciated!

that is quite simple, just create a MPR that triggers a action workflow with a notification activity.
MPR should be request based
Requestor "All People"
Target Set "All People" (both targets before and after)
trigger on Modify attribute
Selected Attributes: Department and jobtitle.
Notification activity should send email to [//Target/Manager] then.

Hi,
Yes - by default all responsibilities are defined as roles in the Workflow directory. You just need to identify the role that corresponds to the responsibility (look at ORIG_SYSTEM and ORIG_SYSTEM_ID columns, IIRC) and then send the notification to the role.

Dear All,
Is it possible to send email notification to users when unlocking or reseting the password using Su01 in SAP .
I think with workflow it can be achived . I like to know if it can be done with any inbuilt funtionality of SAP.

This is not a SAP standard funtionality... I presume you'll need to create your own custom code to achive that, talk to your abaper.

Please help.
I need to send notification to a specific person based on condition. When a specific hold is placed on an invoice, send a notification to the Buyer who is referenced on the Purchase Order that is associated with that invoice. It will be an FYI notification.
I'm looking at APINVHDN AP Hold Maiin Process. I thought possibly adding a notification into the "No" condition after the GET_APPROVER function since there would not be an approver on the invoice since it's on hold.
Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Say we are using following API which are used to send notification to mailbox as soon as program run into error.

once you finalize the addressing the list disappears, so how can is affect the subject . For that matter is disappears when it looses focus.
I have heard of a bug that selects the name that is highlighted when the mouse leaves the selection box if no address is selected. Perhaps that is your issue. Until the issue is fixed I suggest you use tab to leave the address box

Not without help. WebView is just a brower. You would need to poll or use an asynchronous notification mechanism.

Assigning Tasks and Sending Notifications to Users Dynamically

BPM Experts,
We have a BPM process which gets triggered from a JWD application. The issue which we are having is as follows
1.Dynamic allocation of Single user to a task is not working. The approach we have taken is WD application will send User Unique Id from context and it will be mapped to getPrincipal exression.
2.Assign to task to multiple users, first in complex type we are not able to set the cardinality 0..n , it accepting 0..1 or 1..1...To handle this we have appended each of IUsedId sent as string in WD with special characters and tried using tokenize function and then getPrincipals even that also not working
Any quick response and pointers will be highly appreciated
FYI... we cannot use Portal UME groups in this scenario

Need to send email to email addresses in one list when list 2 is updated

I have 2 lists
list 1 has email addresses
the 2nd list is actually a document library
what I was wondering, is how can I send an email to people to people in list 1 when list #2 is updated with new documents?
i have been trying different ways of doing it, but no luck....

I would suggest you to go for custom event receiver using visual studio. Its an easy way.... try it out.
Choose List item event in event receiver settings.
Step 1:Add item was added and item was updated event. Use caml query to fetch email address and loop through the collection and send email using SPUtility. Refer below code.

Sending notifications every after 1 day

Hi Experts,
I need to send notification mail every after 1 day, if the task assigned to the user is not completed.
I tried with adding notification for that action, by selecting duration for 1 day.
But it triggers only once, if the assigned action is not completed before that day.
I want that to trigger after every single day, till taht action is not executed/completed. Is that possible?
Please help me out with this.

Unfourtunaly I don't think there is a way to do this with standard objects. The only way to do it is developing a separate application outside the GP, let say a J2EE application, which registers the notifications that need to be send, read this pending notifications and send the emails. When the task is completed, the task will need to notify this J2ee application about it and delete the scheduled notifications. You will also need to use the Portal Scheduler to run this every day or so. The other thing you may struggle with is the calendar, are you going to send notifications on Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays or in general in just working days? There is no standard calendar in the Portal as in SAP HR to use.
It's a bit of a complex landscape but is the only one I can thing of, and the one we were about to implement.
