Negative Balance for Customers

Hi,
We are facing an issue while entering customer balances. System shows the balances with -ve sign. We have a setting in administration where we un-ckecked "Display Credit Balance with Negative Sign". The reason for this is still unclear to us. Need your help.

  • Report Open balance for Customers back in time

    Dear All,
I would like to have a question: How can I report Highest Balances for Customers back in time? So I have to list Date and Amount, in the last one year, when Customers had their Highest Balances (highest outstanding amount). I have a transaction that can show actual status but I cannot report it for a long period in the past.
Does anyone have an idea how could I do it?
    It would be very helpful.
    Thank you!
    A.

    Hello,
Solution Manager does not desal with Customer Balances. Perhaps you wanted one of the banking industry forums, or FI AR/AP?
In any event this question will not help you much in this forum.

    @ Jing
Again not sure if it is ok to comment on other people's answers, I hope you don't take it the wrong way, but your query will not account for CONSECUTIVE days. E.g. if the acc balance goes back to a positive value, day count must be reset.
Now I understand why people answered this so much faster than me LOL.
Edit: Besides, the requeriment for the acc being returned is that its value was negative for 5 days (120 hours). When a given account balance first switches to a negative value, it has 0 hours in that state. It all add a day to its "negative balance consecutive
day count" property the next time its value is checked (cal + 1). With that said, if your query worked, it would be cnt > 6 not cnt > 5.
Thanks for pointing the issue. I have improved my query  to address it.
I try to come up with something to my understanding to the questions. It may not interpret right  from the question itself for various reasons.  I still consider it is a great learning experience.   Thank you for your comments.

  • Paying Back Negative Balance for a Closed Account

I closed my old account around two months ago and around two weeks ago I received an email saying I have a negative balance of 222.00GBP (on the closed account). I understand why but it is totally unfair because I won the dispute and Paypal agreed with me, but the buyer got a refund from his credit card company and alltogether I've already lost around 70GBP...I just want to finish this and pay off the money, but how do I do that? Has anyone ever encountered this problem before? Thanks a lot,Stefan Baumann

Ways to clear a negative balance.
    1. Transfer funds from your bank account via "add funds" if you choose the faster method it should be done quickly.
    2. Get a mate or family member to send you a payment to your paypal via the friends / family option (as long as they don't fund it with a card there is no fee).
    3. Via a card over the phone with paypal.             ************************************** I give up my time to help you so a thank you or kudos would be cool.
Marking one of my replies as a solution would be appreciated if I sorted your problem.

  • Error MIGO AA629 Balance for transac type group 10 negative for the area 01

    Hi
I have the following principal case in the PRD (version 60.0 ECC):
Active 25000549 number was discharged from the transaction MIGO 18/12/2009 USD 19295.22 and began to depreciate on 01.01.2010.
On 22.04.2010 the vendor issues a credit note USD 11626.96 therefore created the Purchase Order number 9900000903 and when it will account for the transaction MIGO get the error message AA629 ( Balance for transaction type group 10 negative for the are). In transaction MIGO are using the kind of movement 161.
SAP looked in and found a related note the following: 497297, 541200, 547233 but they refer to version 4.7 and 4.6C and make no reference to version 6.0.
The error detail is as follows:
Balance for transaction type group 10 negative for the area 01
    Message no. AA629
    Asset affected: 000025000549-0000
    Diagnosis
With the transaction entered, the balance for the transactions in group 10 in area 01 will be negative in this fiscal year. However, the balance of transaction type group 10, according to its definition, must be positive in each fiscal year.
    System Response
    The system rejects this posting.
    Procedure
Check the transaction type, the amount and the fiscal year in your posting. If you want to post a credit memo to an acquisition from the previous year, then use a transaction type for a retirement. If necessary, you can change balance rules after talking with your SAP consultant.
My questions are: someone has thought of something similar? how to solve? must implement the foregoing notes?
Thank you very much for your kind help

    Hi,
    notes 20347 and .302756.
Try to change following customizing temporarily to 160:
    IMG->FI-AA->Transactions->Determine default transaction types for
         internal transactions->Acquisition from goods receipt
Another alternative could be to TEMPORARILY change the definition  of transaction type group 10 so that it allows negative values.
    139899   AA629 when posting MR01/MRHR/MIRO invoice receipt
AA629 is raised when the transactions per transaction type group in one year are negative in balance and the definition of the  transaction type group only allows positive values  (that means TABWG-VZJSAL is '+'). This is the case for transaction
type group 10. After posting transaction I recommend to set transaction   group 10 back to its original definition.
    Regards Bernhard

  • Error: Balance for transaction type group 10 negative for the area 01

    Dear All,
Our enduser wants to return the capital goods after 3 years ( Purchased on May 2005) to vendor due to poor quality.
While trying to return through MIGO (Return Delivery - Mvmt Type 122) system throws the following error:
    >
With the transaction entered, the balance for the transactions in group 10 in area 01 will be negative in this fiscal year. However, the balance of transaction type group 10, according to its definition, must be positive in each fiscal year.

    Hi,
I have similar problem. The error message appears if user tried to reverse one of the documents posted incorrectly from PO to an asset. The PO has been create in the last FY, but all the posting in AA happend in this FY.
(Our FY is not equal calendar year).
So cumulated from FY start there were posting made -  for:
    - aquisition 150 (transaction type group 14)
    amount: 428.587,73
    - and the couple of credit memos have been posted 105 (with transaction type group 10)
    amount: -511.162,90
    - and again the aquisition posted 152 but this time form previous FY (transaction type group 19)
    amount: 442.537,25
So now, is SAP checking the transaction type group exclusively and in this case would be understandable that the amount is negative already or is looking for the posting, document or entry date?
    Thanks, Krysia

  • Why does B1 display negative balance amounts for the REVENUE GL accts

    I am not an accountant.
When displaying the balances for REVENUE GL accts, the numbers are negative.
I know it is correct to do so since the P&L report displays them as positive.
    Is this an accounting convention?
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
The revenue accounts should have a credit value if everything is alright with the business and the account setup.
In Administration -> Systam Initialisation -> Company Details: Tab 'Basic Initialisation' you will find the check box 'Display Credit Balance with Negative Sign'.
By default this is checked when creating a new company in most localisations.
As it says this means that when the balance of an account shows a credit value it will be displayed as a negative. Business One makes no difference if the accounts are Balance Sheet or Profit and Loss account.
I hope this answers the question.

  • Display account balances for vendor PO's and GRPO's

In the BP Master, there is a display for customers of the account balance, open orders, deliveries, and opportunities.  But for vendors there is only an account balance.  There should be a similar display for open PO's and GRPO's.

    Hello Marcia,
Maybe you can have a try with Drag&Relate function then use Filter to just include Open PO/GRPO only, the total amount will be displayed at the bottom of Drag&Relate result window.
Howeve this is not as convenient as the open balance field directly showed on BP Master Data field.

  • How to enter opening balance for GL A/C(Ex. Bank A/C, Cash A/C, Vendor A/C)

    Hi Expert,
How to enter opening balance for last year to closing balance to this year opening balance explain deeply helpful for me Thanks in advance.
    Example
All Bank A/C, Cash Book, Vendors, Customers, like that how to enter closing to opening balance.
    With Warm regards,
    Selva

    Dear,
As per SAP standard there is no need to carry forward the balances as the system will do a virtual carry forward into next year opening without creating any FI documents.
If your business scenario demands then you can use the transaction code F-02 for posting a carry forward balances, this will not effect any of your balances but only creates a FI document.
If your R3 version is SAP ECC5 or 6 then use the transaction code FAGLGVTR

  • What are the custimization steps to run interest calculations for customers

    Hi,
I need a full custimization steps to configure the interest calculations for customers. i created interest indicators, g/l accounts and account determinations also. but no interest is calculating for customers and customers are having no of days to calculate the interest. So please guide me on this regard.

    Hi,
    Configuring the Interest Calculations Procedure
This configuration allows you to charge interest on overdue customer accounts.  Interest can be calculated by using the line items or overall account balances. SAP keep tracks of the date of the last interest run and stores it in the customer master record.
    First create an Interest Indicator.
OB46 - Interest Settlement Calculation Type
    Int Calc. Type
P - calculate interest based on line items.
S - calculate interest based on account balances.
Secornd, make it avaliable to the interest run program.
    OB82 - Interest Terms
Third, determine the interest rate that will be used by the calculation.
OBAC - Define Reference Interest Rates
OB83 - Enter the Reference Interest Rates Value
Fourth, assign the interest indicator to the reference interest rate.
OB81 - Define Time Dependent Terms
Finally, determine the how and to which accounts the interest program will post.
OBV1 - Prepare Interest on Arrears Calculation

  • Automatic Clearing for Customers and Vendors

    Hi,
We want to clear the open items at a time for the customers and vendors.
Ex: Cutomer "A" contains 15000 Dr(20 Line items), 12000 Cr(15 Line items) and closing balance 3000 Dr
Now we want to clear the all open items at a time and remaining(3000 Dr) balance for open items.
    We don't want Manual Clearing(F-32)
Is this possible through F.13 or others?
    Thanks in advance

    No you cant
The automatic program groups items from an account together where they have the same
    entries in the following fields:
    • Reconciliation account number
    • Currency
    • Special G/L indicator
    • Five freely defined criteria from document header or line item, for example,
assignment field, reference number, and so on.
If the balance, in local currency, of the items within a group is zero, the system
automatically clears them and creates clearing documents.
All accounts requiring automatic clearing must be defined in Customizing.
The automatic clearing program does not clear:
    • Noted items
    • Statistical postings and certain special G/L transactions relating to bills of
    exchange
    • Down payments can only be cleared if down payment clearing items of the
same amount have already been posted.
    • items with withholding tax entries
