Netbeans 5.5 + VWP and Object List Data Provider

Hi there.
I'm trying to build an Object List Data Provider as in fieldguide_08_dataProviders.
I'm using Netbeans 5.5 + VWP
When I try to "Configure the Table" on page 360, there are some difference.
When I select Object List Data Provider and drop it on the Table component opens an unexpected choose for the target, then I choose tableRowgroup1.
The JSP souce don't change and is still

When I select objectListDataProvider1 the drop down opposite property list doesn't work. The button opens a selection window with no items.

Oject List Data Provider is not working

I am having trouble using an Object List Data Provider.
The Field Guide books says when I drop an Object List Data Provider,
then select the list property, to bind it to a list, there is suppose to be an edit box to the right of the property that launches a pop up window.
Instead I am getting an empty drop down list box, no pop up like I do get with an Object Data Provider.
I can not even manually type in the list binding, it is frustrating.
I have the loanBean example all set, with the loanBean showing in the outline ready for binding, but no way to bind it via the IDE.
I tried adding the code the sets the binding, using the book example, but that does not help since the IDE still does not recognize my Object List Data Provider as a valid data source for the Table Display.
I have been working through the Field Guide tutorials, following the instructions to the letter. I have had no problems, up till now, in chapter 8.
I tried starting a new project from scratch, and I still have the same problem. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a known issue ?
I have downloaded and installed all updates as of February 19th.

When can we expect a patch for Object Array List Data Provider?

Hey JSC Team!
When can we expect maybe, just maybe a minor patch for the Object Array List Data Provider loading class problem? Next Month? This Year? Next Year? Near Future? Long in the future? Sometime in the 22nd century?

I think one of the problem is
when u declare the ObjectListDataProvider in ur backing bean
it doesnt appear in the design time straight away
u have to clean build close and re open the project
which is quite time consuming.

Diff bet invoice date and Invoices list date

Hello Experts.
Good Morning to all.
1) what is the difference between invoice date and invoicing list dates, please telltheir signigficance and why they needed in customer master billing tab.
2)what is the use of the field Payment guar proced field.what actully is its purpose.
3)Subsequent invoice processing:- It indicates if the invoices for manual
post processing should be printed out.If the business wants to post invoices manually(not
by system automatically) that invoice can be printed out.
In the above sentence what does manual posting means and what is automatic posting means?
And tell me is there will be any need for this field in the real time , if so , then in which case?

These fields will be used to assign the calendars that determines the schedule of billing dates and invoice list for the customer.
Invoice dates (calendar identification)
Identifies the calendar that determines the schedule of billing dates for the customer.
Use
If, for example, a customer wants to consolidate the invoices you send out, you can predefine the billing schedule in a calendar in the system. During billing, the system automatically proposes the appropriate billing date from the calendar.
Procedure
The system proposes the billing schedule from the customer master record of the payer. You can change the value manually in the sales document.
Invoice list Dates (calendar identification)
Identifies the customer's factory calendar that is used during the processing of invoice lists.
Use
An invoice list is a list of invoices (single or collective) that you create for the customer either periodically or on predefined dates. The periods and dates are defined in the customer's factory calendar. Typically, the recipient of an invoice list takes on the responsibility for collecting payments from numerous individual customers and receives a factoring or del credere discount for the service.
Procedure
If you want to create invoice lists for the customer, you must enter an identifier for a predefined factory calendar.
Requirements
You must first define a factory calendar for the customer either in Customizing for Sales or as part of the master data for Sales (Menu path: Logistics -> Sales & distribution -> Master data -> Others -> Billing schedules).

Piece List and Object list are not moving through transports

Hi All,
I have created the Piece List and Object list for Language translation in Development system and saved them in transport.
When i moved this in Quality system then nothing is showing there.
I have checked the Log of transport movement,everything is showing OK there.
Please suggest me the way to solve this issue.

let me explain in Points

error messages about logs not found during the transport.
This is usually caused by incorrect maintenance of the setting for the transport directory. Check in particular the parameters DIR_TRANS and TRANSDIR by referring to the advice given in note 556734, section "What do I need to consider when setting up the transport?".
2
An import supposedly has an error, but cannot find an error in the log files.
This is usually due to the order-independent logs. In the order-independent steps, DDIC objects of other requests may also be edited. For example, the request to adjust a table remains for so long in the internal transport tables and is therefore also processed during a subsequent transport until the adjustment was successfully completed. An error can then be displayed for the subsequent request although its objects were all imported without any errors. Explanatory notes for this are 413993, 512493, 407116 and 330378. After every import, the order-independent logs should therefore also be checked.
If the system refers to canceled RDD* jobs, check the job log via SM37 and via ST22 the short dumps and via SM21 the syslog of the system.

Object Array Data Provider Refresh Possible bug

I am having a problem with Object Array Data Provider in terms that the table's data is not changed corectly after a request as expected, but after two requests.
Steps to reproduce the bug:
0. Create a new Visual Web project, call it 'test'.
Set 'Bundled Tomcat ' or 'Sun 9' as deploy target server.
Edit 'Page1' of the project.
1. Create an Entity class, simple class that has only getters and setters with a few fields (lets say 'id' and 'name').
2. In the SessionBean1 that is generated by the framework create an array of Entity class named 'entityArr', and getters and setters for this field.
3. Add a new Array Object Data Provider on the page and set in its properties as array the array created in the previous step 'entityArr (SessionBean1)'.
4. Add a new table component, and set as data provider the provider created in step 3.
In the Table's Layout map the fields from the Entity class, and set whatever compnents you desire for each component's type or leave the default ones (Static Text).
5. Add a 'property change trigger component' on the page. I called it like this because I tried the following :
5.1 A text field and a button to submit the text value
5.2 A Calendar component with autosubmit
5.3 A DropDown with autosubmit.
6. On the property change trigger component created at step 5 set a value_changed method that changes the the array that should be displayed by the table.
For Example, for a DropDown component, you will have a method like this :

While no one responded, I had to think for myself.
There is a bug in the code generated by netbeans or there is nowhere specified that if you attach an array to a data provider you will have to notify by hand the data provider that the array has changed.
You will have to put this line that is generated in init function in your valuechanged functions :
objectArrayDataProvider1.setArray((java.lang.Object[])getValue("#{SessionBean1.entityArr}"));
I think this aproach is a little bit wrong, even it works.
I believe the data provider should be notified the array has been changed.
There could be a much more simple aproaches :
1. In the code generated by netbeans, if you attach an array to a data provider the data provider will be notified after any set(Object[])
2. The data provider could have a function so you will ne anle to attach to the data provider an Object (the session bean, in my case) and the name of the function that retrieves the array (in my case, 'getEntityArr') .
The code generated by netbeans could add this function easily.
Maybe there are any other better aproaches, and I might be wrong.
It's good that it works.

Table with object array data provider

hi!
i use the studio creator table and want to fill it with an object array data provider!
i have an array and the getter:
public TanData[] getTanDataArray()
        return tanDataArray;
    }i choosed this for the data provider and in table layout i choose the dataprovider, but when i run my application there are no datas found although the array isn't empty!

maybe this is a problem:
i got my data from a database table and i store it in a vector.
in the example they have a class WeekBean and they fill their array with
   WeekBean[] weeks = {
            new WeekBean(1),
            new WeekBean(2),
            new WeekBean(3),
            new WeekBean(4)
        };and i tried to do this:

Best Practice on using and refreshing the Data Provider

I have a �users� page, that lists all the users in a table - lets call it master page. One can click on the first column to of the master page and it takes them to the �detail� page, where one can view and update the user detail.
Master and detail use two different data providers based on two different CachedRowSets.
Master CachedRowSet (Session scope): SELECT * FROM UsersDetail CachedRowSet (Session scope): SELECT * FROM Users WHERE User_ID=?I want the master to be updated whenever the detail page is updated. There are various options to choose from:
1. I could call masterDataProvider.refresh() after I call the detailDataProvider.commitChanges() - which is called on the save button on the detail page. The problem with this approach is that the master page will not be refreshed across all user sessions, but only for the one saving the detail page.
2. I could call masterDataProvider.refresh() on the preRender() event of the master page. The problem with this approach is that the refresh() will be called every single time someone views the master page. Further more, if someone goes to next page (using the built in pagination on the table on master page) and clicks on a user to view its detail and then close the detail page, it does not keep track of the pagination (what page the user was when he/she clicked on a record to view its detail).
I can find some work around to resolve this problem, but I think this should be a fairly common usage (two page CRUD with master-detail). If we can discuss and document some best practices of doing this, it will help all the developers.
Discussion:
1.     What is the best practice on setting the scope of the Data Providers and CahcedRowSet. I noticed that in the tutorial examples, they used page/request scope for Data Provider but session scope for the associated CachedRowSet.
2.     What is the best practice to refresh the master data provider when a record/row is updated in the detail page?
3.     How to keep track of pagination, (what page the user was when he/she clicked on the first column in the master page table), so that upon updating the detail page, we cab provide user with a �Close� button, to take them back to whaterver page number he/she was.

Thanks. I think this is a useful information for all. Do we even need two data providers and associated row sets? Can't we just use TableRowDataProvider, like this:
TableRowDataProvider rowData=(TableRowDataProvider)getBean("currentRow");If so, I am trying to figure out how to pass this from master to detail page. Essentially the detail page uses a a row from master data provider. Then I need user to be able to change the detail (row) and save changes (in table). This is a fairly common issue in most data driven web apps. I need to design it right, vs just coding.

More than one Data provider

How can you create multiple data providers in webi? I mean can you access more than one universe through webi?

The ability to access more than one universe (or data provider) in WebI is one of its highlights on the "to do" list. You access another universe by going back to the "Edit Query" mode, and click on the "Add Query" icon, which in turn brings a menu that lists all of the eligible universes you can choose from. By selecting another universe, building a query, and executing, you'll be able to either generate a report with multiple tabs, each one focusing on that specific universe/information, or if applicable according to the way that the data is layed out, merging dimensions and combining data from two universes onto one tab/block of information. I'm pasting below a link to a PDF from the University of Illinois that explains Business Objects processing and the multi-data provider concept. Though the examples are geared to DeskI, the concepts of multiple DPs are applicable.

Web report data provider change from Master data table to InfoCube

I have created one report on top of multiprovider but in the selection screen when i check the values for a variable I came to know that data is coming from master data table and not from data provider(InfoCube).Can any one help to change the data selection from master data table to data provider(InfoCube) and i am sure that there is no ODS involved in the multiprovider.

If u are using Analyser then just put a Analysis Grid on the output of the query(should cover all the rows and column) , click on the grid and put the dataprovider. and do auto fit.

ListCellFactory - how to access an object's data associated with list cell?

I am new to javafx and building a sample app to learn the basics. The app has a list view control and used listcellfactory to create listcells. Each list cell is composed of few labels and image. I populated list view with listViewItems function, where in it sends object[]; I have my own object with data that needs to be populated in the list cell. I have hard coded the object[] and that size is reflected in list view items size. However, I am not able to populate the object data in individual labels.
In the following code, I can only get the string representation of the object and I am unable to figure out how to individually access the object's data. Please help me with this.
