Netbeans + Glassfish Not generating wsdl or service url

I know this is a problem that could have a thousand causes, somewhere deep in a conf file.
I have a Netbeans 6.7 manager project. I added some a web service class, added an operation to test. The project deploys to glassfish no problem. However if I try and go to the test via Netbeans (right click a web service and pick "Test Web Service") I get an error "Warning: unable to open web service tester page: http://localhost:8080/Manager/WSFooService?tester"
Clearly browsing to that URL doesn't work. It seems like the project is not even generating the WSDL for the web service so I can't make any clients to test it.
I am not sure which conf files to post, so here is a couple:
web.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<web-app metadata-complete="true" version="2.5" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd">

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hello,
you can check it at GlassFish Admin console (usually running on port 4848).
You need to log on to Admin console with the (default) or changed password (depends if you changed it during installation).
There you could see your web service deployed (usually in the "folder" Web services).
If you can see it you should see also wsdl - for your web service.

  • Provide Webservice  link not generating corresponding WSDL URL based on the service operation.

    Hi All,
    The provide webservice link is not generating corresponding WSDL URL based on Service Operation.
    E.g. Currently we have two service operations namely Create and Update. We are using Rowset based messaging. Provide Webservice link generated correct WSDL URL for the create operation but it is providing the same URL for Update operation as well. kindly share your knowledge if you guys ever faced similar problem.
    Regards
    Viswa

    Hi Hakan,
    Thanks for your reply. Actually i am trying to generate WSDL URLs for each service operation for Travel & Expense module like create expense, update expense etc.
    URL generated looks like this : http://xxx.xx.xxx.xx:8011/PSIGW/PeopleSoftServiceListeningConnector/HX_TE_EXPENSE_CLAIM.16.wsdl - this url is meant for CREATE operation. But for the UPDATE operation i am getting the same URL . Normally, Whenever i create WSDL URL for different operation the numeric part of the above URL changes like 16, 17 etc ..based on the service operation but no two operation have same URL like i am getting now. Please provide your knowledge on this issue.

  • Jdev 10g web services - Generated WSDL/message part name does not match

    Hi,
    Any idea how to get the generated WSDL sequence element name and Java WSDL mapping file message part name to match the parameter names of the EJB exposed as a web service (using the bottom-up approach)? Right now what happens is these 2 names are generated based on the parameter type (e.g. Integer_1, String_2, etc). Thanks for any help.
    rgds,

    It depends on a number of things because the JAXRPC 2.0 spec. will be dependent on a number of
    other specs. We are hoping to have an EA later this year or early next year.

  • How can i include Services and Bindung in a generated WSDL file?

    Hi,
    i what to use a generated wsdl file from an erp system, to build a web service client with WSDL2Java (org.apache.axis.wsdl.WSDL2Java).
    I noticed, that services an bindings are missing, also a policy is included.
    How can i include services and bindings in the wsdl and exclude the policy?
    Thanks!

    well, I assume you have SOAMANAGER.
    choose your service & "Apply Selection" (very useless button btw)
    select a binding in the dropdown box or create on if you do not have one yet
    Click button "Show WSDL options" (actually they do not really look like buttons in WD; call it yellow blot)
    Some extra config area is thrown onto your screen (without any sense for usability or design); Change the radio button for WSDL format from "WS policy" to "Standard"; make sure the first radio button group is on "True" for monolithic
    Now click the link (why is this a link and no blot?) called "Display selected bindings WSDL URL"
    an extra text field is again thrown onto your screen somwhere between the dropdown and the WSDL option config area containing an URL (get out your glasses if you don't see the sub-10pt-letters)
    hope it helps,
    anton

  • Generating WSDL using Integration Directory (Tools-Define Web Service)

    Hi,
    I have tested the "Define Web Service" tool in Integration Directory - some question;
    1) It's a little bit frustrating to change the URL after clicking the "Propose URL" button - is it possible to configure somewhere the right URL
    http://<srv>:<port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=<party>:<service>:<cchannel>
    2) The generated WSDL is not according to the basic profile for WSDLs - wrong encoding="ISO-8859-1" - supposed to be "UTF-8"|"UTF-16" - is it possible to configure how the WSDL is generated?
    I'm not sure, but I think there is a issue related to the type of binding for a binding.
    3) A web service can consists of several methods - is there a tool for generating a WSDL for several interfaces?
    It's "boring" to manually copy-paste from several generated WSDLs to one main WSDL for a web service
    Anyway, by using XMLSpy and SoapScope, everything works just fine

    a single data type will refer to multiple data types data.
    You can refer one Data type in other Data Type but it wont be available under a  different root node.....the root node will the the DT name under which you are referring the other DTs......you can do this by:
    DT --> Give the appropriate name to a node --> While selecting the Type for this node select Data types --> select the DT from the list available....for this you should first include all the schemas in IR i.e. you should first create individual DTs by importing the schema (DT --> XSD --> Import Data Type Definition from File)
    You have a huge list of schemas!

    Abhishek.

  • How to generate wsdl url in Siebel 8.1

    Dear Gurus,
    Please help, how to generate wsdl url from inbound web services in Siebel 8.1
    Regards,
    Eldin

    Hi Raj,
    I've tried, this url did'nt recognize as a web service.
    For example, in Oracle E-Business Suite ( Integration Repository ) there's a button to generate wsdl url. The wsdl url is http://servername/webservice/pls/test?WSDL.
    So is it possible we generate wsdl url like in E-Business Suite ? Or there's something we need to configure so Siebel wsdl url will recognize as web service in E-Business Suite.
    Thanks for your response.

  • Generated WSDL Issue - Glassfish App Server

    Hi,
    I am at a loss as to how to modify the generated WSDL and associated schema for a webservice I am deploying to Glassfish V2 Milestone 4 - Build 33. I'm using EJB 3.0 and the entity beans I developed have one to many and many to one references to each other:
    An OverrideVersion contains a reference to the OverrideRequest it belongs to. There can be numerous OverrideVersions. I've tested the database code extensively and there is no problem performing saves and retrieves. The following is taken from the OverrideVersion class:
    @ManyToOne
    @JoinColumn(name="request", referencedColumnName="pricingRef")
    private OverrideRequest request;and this is from the OverrideRequest class:
    @OneToMany(mappedBy="request", cascade=CascadeType.ALL,
              fetch = FetchType.EAGER)
    private Set<OverrideVersion> overrideVersionCollection;The problem is that if I leave the app server to generate the WSDL these references are generated, which I don't want - I only want the Verson to reference :
    <xs:complexType name="overrideVersion">
      <xs:sequence>
        <xs:element name="request" type="tns:overrideRequest" minOccurs="0"/>
      </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>and<xs:complexType name="overrideRequest">
      <xs:sequence>
        <xs:element name="overrideVersionCollection" type="tns:overrideVersion" nillable="true" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
      </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>I need to be able to change the WSDL as I am getting the following error on retrieves:
    com.sun.istack.SAXException2: A cycle is detected in the object graph. This will cause infinitely deep XML:I followed the advice in http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=725485&messageID=4184020
    "For now, the way is to do this manually : stop the app server, edit the as_install_dir/domains/domain1/generated/xml/j2ee-{apps|modules}/{your-app}/{META|WEB}-INF/wsdl/XXXXX.wsdl, and restart the app server"
    but no matter what I do the changes I make to the generated WSDL and schema files aren't refelected in the actual WSDL at the ?WSDL address.
    So I decided to take the generated WSDL file, modify it (remove the cyclic references), and drop it in my applications META-INF/wsdl directory (along with the previously generated schema) and specify the @WebService wsdlLocation attribute in my stateless session bean:
    @WebService(serviceName="PricingService",
              portName="PricingServicePort",
              wsdlLocation="META-INF/wsdl/PricingService.wsdl")But after deployment I try to access the WSDL (at the same address as the previous generated WSDL http://localhost:8080/PricingService/PricingService?wsdl) and get a plain white HTML page with: Invalid wsdl request http://localhost:8080/PricingService/PricingServiceI haven't been able to come up with a solution to this problem either.
    This is doing my head in so any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Arvind,
    First thing u shud do is..for invoking a webservice through XI do not import all the WSDLs ....Import only the WSDL under the porttypes....
    Port types defines the interface in XI...Once u import them....Then check the msg type.....As per u info u shud see them as
    getAuthorizationIn_doc---request
    getAuthorizationOut_doc---Response..
    If u want something more plz ask

  • Could not generate stub objects for web service invocation in ColdFusion

    I was able to call the services on the development box - windows server without any problem at all, everything was working fine but the moment i uploaded to a linux box production server I get this error. "Could not generate stub objects for web service invocation in ColdFusion"
    What could be the cause of this problem, i have googled a lot but no solution yet any ideas.

    Let me make it simple:
    1. Server A is our development server.- hosted inhouse with coldfusion installed.
    2. Server B is our production server - a linux server with coldfusion installed hosted on the internet
    3. Server C is a third party server containing the webservice - this is a windows server with .net
    coldfusion is installed on Server A, the code works here and can connect to server C without any problem. It gets the required respone
    but when the code was uploaded to server c it gives the error when we run it.
    now i tried just a simple code which works fine on server A below:
    <cfinvoke webservice="http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL" method="ConversionRate" returnvariable="ConversionRateResult">
        <cfinvokeargument name="FromCurrency" value="EUR" />
        <cfinvokeargument name="ToCurrency" value="USD" />
    </cfinvoke>
    <cfdump var="#ConversionRateResult#" />
    But when i uploaded it to server C: it returns the error
    Cannot generate stub objects for web service invocation.
    Name: http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL. WSDL: http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL. java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/coldfusion8/stubs/WS728929035/NET/webserviceX/www/Currency.java (No such file or directory) It is recommended that you use a web browser to retrieve and examine the requested WSDL document to ensure it is correct. If the requested WSDL document cannot be retrieved or is dynamically generated, it is likely that the target web service has programming errors.
    The error occurred in /home/works/public_html/currency.cfm: line 7

    6 :

    Now if you try the preceeding code on a windows environment  it works fine but the moment you put in the in the linux environment it generates this error
    I feel that the error may actually be :
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/coldfusion8/stubs/WS728929035/NET/webserviceX/www/Currency.java (No such file or directory)
    but i am clueless as to what to do next
    Ok so I tried the wget command on the linux

  • Web service deployment using generated wsdl

    Hi,
    As u know app server is generating the wsdl and mapping files in deployment time if you dont include these files in the archive.
    What i m trying to do is to use the pregenerated wsdl and mapping file in the archieve, i don't want app server to generate wsdl and mapping. I'm generating these files in build phase and placing them under META-INF folder of resulting jar file.
    And i expect oc4j to use these supplied files but it continues to generate and uses the generated.
    (I'm using wsa.jar to generate wsdl, mean i'm generating in oracle way, not other tool)
    (I dont want to use the auto generated wsdl cause i need to update them before deployment. Auto generated wsdl have data definition with object graphs which is not supported by document-literal message format. i will try to clean object graph dependencies in wsdl and deploy) Or shall i use Rpc-Encoded which supports object graphs??
    Thanks...

    it seems that it is hard to extract main question from the preview post. The question is that:
    how can i deploy web service for a stateless session bean annotated with @webService annotations with supplied wsdl and mapping file in the ejb jar file...
    (oc4j always generates a new wsdl,does;t use the one given in the jar)

  • Generating wsdl:fault with Oracle Web Services

    What conditions are required to have Oracle Web Services throw a defined wsdl:fault over a soap:fault? Is there documentation on how to map these correctly from your java code? I can't seem to find anything in the documenation that discusses this and when using the WebServiceAssembler to generate WSDLs including an exception in a method signature does nothing to generate a wsdl section in the generated portType.
    Any pointers are appreciated.

    Hi,
    If a method throws Exceptions that are not instances / subclasses of java.rmi.RemoteException, then it's not a SOAP Fault, but a wsdl:fault. This is the manner in which JAX-RPC handles the Exceptions.

    This is the message that appears in the controlling tty window:

    After I posed the above, I saw that the url on the exception is munged.
    I didn't stumble over how to manually override that url.
    Instead, I added remote jmx capability to the process and added a connector. That is my work around.
    Thanks,
    John
