Network Adapter information
Hi Moderator,
Please help us to know how to get the informations about the activity of connection on Network Adapter. In fact, on panel control, after on connection, after on Status Network Adapter (Device), here we have the time connection on the network for
the device : i would like to get it with command Powershell (like the status Link up of the Network Device).
The command GMWI Win32 NetworkAdapter do not list this information yet.
More simply, I would like to get the date of connection on network for a computer (the started time connection for a network device) as possible with powershell (or else command as far as needed).
Thansk in advance for your technical assistance asap.
Best regards
L.G

OWB Error while deploying the mapping Io exception: The Network Adapter co
Hi,
We are using OWB 10.2 in our production environment.Actually we are using OWB only for development.
After deploying each mapping we will create scheduler job for execution of these mappings.
Recently our staging DBs port has been changed to 1522 from 1521 and i have gone throgh the below steps.
1) Changed the port in tnsnames.ora file.
2) In Start Control Centre Servioce ,i have changed the port to 1522 for owbownr user and started the service successfully.
3) i have run the script UpdateLocation.sql from the OWBOWNR schema and updated the port number.
4) I tried to run the UpdateControlCenter.sql in owbownr schema and staging schema also, but i am getting an error like below.
SQL> @UpdateControlCenter.sql
This sql script sets the host:port:service parameters for a control center
in the OWB Client Repository.
The connection type must be host:port:service and cannot be changed
using this script.

5) When i am running the service_doctor.sql on owbownr schema i am getting incorrect port number like below
SQL> @service_doctor.sql
There are errors in one or more PL/SQL packages and functions

The platform service is available
There is a problem accessing the service startup script from the database

Here is the detailed error message which contains the name of the start
script file:-

6) After login to OWB ,i have checked the Location,OWB Repository Location And Control center In OWB connection Explorer,
and all the connections are successful.
After this i took Control Centre from Tools and i tried to deploy one mapping.
And i got some error like below.

Can any one help me to solve this issue??
Edited by: 892899 on Oct 24, 2011 6:01 AMHi Allan,
Thanks for your quick reply.
I have checked in OWB\Locations\Database\Oracle\Location\DB Connectors and also in Control Center\Location\Connectors,seems like there is no connectors created.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Also i analyzed the UpdateControlCenter.sql in that
select value into v_connectiontype from cmpstringpropertyvalue_v where logicalname = 'CMPLocation_ConnectionType' and propertyowner = v_elementid;
the qry returns 'SQL*NET'.
Any workaround for these???
Please reply. -

#If you're sure that you have a Broadcom BCM57xx
device installed in the machine, then you should have a look at
"prtconf -pv" output, locate the Ethernet device, and check the
"vendor-id" / "device-id" property for the NIC.
If the Broadcom device is compatible with Sun's "bge" driver, you
can try to install an addition driver binding entry for your device,
using the update_drv(1M) command
update_drv -a -i '"pciVVVV,DDDD"' bge(where VVVV and DDDD is the pci vendor / device id found in

How to add a network adapter in Windows 2008 Core
I installed Windows 2008 Core on an older server of mine. The install worked fine, but I dont think it recognizes the built-in BroadCom NICs. I downloaded the 2008 drivers and ran the necessary commands to load and install the drivers, aassigned IP settings, but networking still is not working. Is there a specific command for adding a NIC?
Hi,
Pnputil.exe is used to manually install, enumerate, or remove third party drivers. We can use the following command to install the driver:
Pnputil –i –a <path>\<driver>.inf
In addition, we can use DriverQuery.exe to enumerate and display a list of the installed device drivers, including the driver properties.
For more information about Pnputil.exe and DriverQuery.exe, you can refer to Windows Help and Support in Windows Server 2008.
Now I suggest confirming if the network adapter is recognized by Device Manager. To do so, please enable remote administration of server core and then check whether the network adapter is listed in Device Manager. To allow remote connection to Device Manager, please type the following command:
Netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group=“remote administration” new enable=yes
In addition, you must first enable the Allow remote access to the PnP interface policy setting. To do this, on a computer running Windows Vista or a full installation of Windows Server 2008, open the Local Group Policy Editor MMC snap-in, connect to the computer running a Server Core installation, navigate to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Device Installation, and then enable Allow remote access to the PnP interface. Restart the computer running a Server Core installation.
Note that when Device Manager is used remotely, it is read-only.
Hope it helps.

Sat 5200-902: WiFi Network adapter is missing
Hi,
I'm new to the forum so please be patient if this has been answered. I did search but couldn't find anything that helped me.
My problem is the I have a Satellite 5200-902 running XP Pro which is a WiFi ready machine. I've never try to use the WiFi functionality and only just discovered that it doesn't work.
In fact there in no Wireless network adapter that's recognised by Device manager. I've downloaded the wireless drivers from this site but without a device listed on my laptop can't update them.
I'm reasonably sure this has something to do with the fact that I'm running XP Pro. The notebook was preinstalled with XP Home were everything was fine. I'm on SP2 and upto date with all MS patches and would apriciate any pointers.
Thanks,
Regu.Hi
Well, I have googled for this part number PA3212U-3MPC and I have found some online shops which sells this card. Unfortunately I dont found any informations about a compatibility of another WLan card.
But you can ask the Toshiba service partner for detailed information. Furthermore there you can order you WLan card for the unit.

ajashadiI've had the same problem when I installed the latest version of SQL developer (1.2.1.32.13) on a machine that still had an older, working version. My problem went away when I changed from an IP name to an IP address. on the connection setup window.

There is no rule for HP-UX network adapter
Hello
I have installed HP-UX latest management pack on SCOM 2012. briefly my question is Why there is no rule or performance counter to monitor HP-UX (11iv3) servers network adapter??
I have SLES , Redhat, windows servers in my environment and I can report the network adapter performance except for HP-UX servers. all other system resource usage on HP-UX has related rules like "%processor time", "%logical disk free space"
and ...Version: 1.5.0-128 (Labeled_Build - 20130719L)

Cannot create new virtual network adapter on logical switch team
I am currently moving from Hyper-V 2012 to Hyper-V 2012 R2 and in turn I have just installed SCVMM 2012 R2. I am using SCVMM 2012 R2 to create some NIC teams which I have done no problem in the past with SCVMM 2012 SP1. Now we have everything set up just
like we did in the past and it seems to create the NIC team just fine. The problem is when I try to create a New Virtual Network Adapter, when I click the button, it immediately says:
VMM cannot create the virtual network adapter. Either there are no VM networks associated with the network sites that the uplink port profile "Logical Network Name" Connects to, or the VM networks associated with those network sites all use Hyper-V
network virtualization.
Now I've checked and the VM Network is assigned to the logical network that is associated with the Network Site that contains the host I'm working with. I've also tried disabling Hyper-V network virtualization but that didn't change anything and I thought
that it's always enabled on 2012 R2 anyway.
I would like to gain network connectivity to this team at least for testing purposes and we also are planning on building a Hyper-V cluster. Were some new restrictions added in 2012 R2 to prevent creating virtual network adapters in this scenario or am I
doing something wrong?
Any information would be helpful. Thank you in advance for your time!Hi Sir,
Glad to hear that the problem has been solved , thanks for your sharing .
Best Regards,
Elton Ji

Failure-Io Exception:The network adapter could not establish the connection
Hi,
I am new to sql developer and need help regarding establishing connection in my PC.
I gave the following details for establishing connection.
Connection Name: DB
Username: myDB
passwd: xxxxx
Role: Default
Connection Type: Basic
Host Name: localhost
Port: 1521
SID: xe
When I tested the connection the following error occured:
Failure -Io Exception: The network adapter could not establish the connection
Please help me out.
Thanks in advance.Some information showing:
How to check if there is something listening on a machine/port (there are also port scanners like nmap)
first a success: ctrl - ] typed in by me.
$ telnet localhost 1521
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
^]
telnet> quit
Connection closed.
then a fail:
$ telnet localhost 1522
Trying 127.0.0.1...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
$
Oracle also has tools to get the status of the 'listener' which is listening on the port, including database names for example 'lsnrctl stat' but it may have too many dependencies and privileges required to go into here.
If you do not have XE, you can install it with very few restrictions.

Apple itunes installed network adapter and wiped my wireless out
On Windows Vista x64, I tried to take the update for itunes and it said it failed, to try download only (which has not been working either for me over past year; I always have to uninstall and go to the site to download/install it myself). But my internet stopped working 5 days ago (my wireless adapter inside laptop cannot find any networks ever; nor did my ethernet connection work to overcome this) and my first line of defense was to use sys restore; low and behold, there was an entry for the time period it stopped working that "apple network adapter installed" but no matter which restore point I tried to use anywhere around that event, it always came back with errors and stated no changes were made; still no internet either.
I have uninstalled the hardware thru device manager and tried to let windows reinstall it with drivers, but that doesn't fix it either. I even downloaded onto a flash drive the original driver that has since been updated by Intel for my Intel Link 5100 wireless adapter, but still it will not work. The ethernet did start working once I installed the old original driver for it, but even last night I got the error while plugged into my router "limited connectivity" meaning no internet. I then tried uninstalling all apple programs and kept being blocked from doing so (sounded viral to me so I ran norton power eraser, spoke with support, even used couple other programs for spyware malware bootkit/rootkit etc). Now I finally got all the programs uninstalled, cleaned the registry, and still I cannot get the wireless adapter to work.
I have spent days on this issue, seeing other discussions over the past few years where this has happened before (an update with apple's network adapter installs and wipes out the actual hardware adapter) but each time it only affects certain models of wireless/ethernet adapters. Guess this update got mine. I am trying NOT to have to restore my computer to factory condition as it is over 2 years old and that will mean millions of updates to all microsoft programs, drivers, etc.
Does anyone have any ideas that will fix this? I can send you my specs if you need them.
SheilaThx for the suggestion, but this is the post I originally found and figured out what went wrong, However, as I stated in my question post, I have not only uninstalled, scanned for hardware changes (w/o reboot) and rebooted and watched windows install device drivers for both lan & wifi, yet the wifi absolutely will not work now. I have the ethernet working since installing the old original driver, and today I was able to actually get back up to the last wifi driver from intel I had before itunes wiped it out. But still no wifi. My intel program and intel's system checker I used on their website states:
WIRELESS NETWORKING INFORMATION
Wireless Networking Product
Intel® WiFi Link 5100
Driver Version
13.4.0.9
Intel PROSet/Wireless Version
not detected
Software/Driver Status
Newer Driver Available
Latest version available
13.5.0
Hardware IDs
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4232&SUBSYS_12018086&REV_00
and I can't get the Newer driver to install without errors stating it will not work with my ACer setup. But at least I got from v12.0.0.73 today to the one above. I reinstalled Itunes today hoping that would fix anything I'd removed and the version was like 10.3.x.x.x. Then I uninstalled from device manager & rebooted hoping wifi network adapter would start working again, but alas, no..
Hope someone can help me soon, cause I've run out of ideas. -
Hello,
Some mysterious application shuts down the network adapter in my server. Does anyone know some way to secure the network adapter i.e. prevent applications from modifying network adapter settings.
ThanksHi,
Enabling and disabling network adapter require administrative privileges.
You may try to set UAC to high to see if the issue persists.
If it does, please locate the exact process which did this, you may use Process Monitor.

What should I do? And when the server starts and I run the application, I get the following error:

The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
Can anybody help me...?????Can you try writing a testcase that allows you to connect to the database by going through JDBC ?

T450s Network adapter stops working
We've got a number of T450s laptops which we have imaged with Windows 7 Enterprise x64 using SCCM 2012. Although it took a bit of work to get the laptops imaged with the I218-LM network adapter, we were eventually able to get this driver loaded under WinPE and the laptops imaged successfully.
We are attempting to use Windows Easy Transfer (aka WET) to transfer profile and config info from older laptops (T410 / T420) ... During the transfer, the network adapter will stop passing all TCP/IP traffic. The WET transfer stops and even simple pings fail. Disabling and re-enabling the I218-LM network adapter causes network connectivity to restore and the WET transfer to continue, though it often fails again in a very short time-span (10-60 seconds). This stoppage of TCP/IP traffic happens apparently at random, but I"m sure there's some pattern we haven't ID'd yet. There does appear to be a high corrilation on the traffic stopping during heavy activity during the WET transfer.
When the IP traffic stops, the NIC's packets sent/recieved counters do not increment. Outward signs still make it appear the NIC is connected (link state shows up, LED incicators on the NIC still are lit with the orange indicator flashing).
We have tried two different drivers from Lenovo: 12.12.80.19 and 12.12.80.1950
I've also tried downloading drivers direct from Intel, package version 20.0, which installs driver version 12.12.80.19
I've already also tried disabling many of the harfware acceleration features (RSS, IPv4 TCP/UDP offloading, etc)
Has anyone else run into a similar situation or have any clue how I can stop the network from stopping?Unfortunately I still don't have a resolution to this... But I wanted to add a piece of information...
I was able to replicate this problem using Lenovo's stock (OEM) install of Windows. This should effectively eliminate the posibility that we introduced the problem with our custom load.
