Network problems every time i start [Solved]
So upon installing Arch, my main problem was my network configuration.
I spent forever trying to get it working. But in the end i found a post that suggest typing "dhcpcd eth0" so it will pick up a dhcp connection.
So i checked ifconfig just after booting, when it wasn't working and here's what i get

hmm, this seems not exactly to be a problem, you just have to set up your network correctly in rc.conf. Look at the beginners guide in the wiki for how to do so.
this is the example for a dhcp network from the wiki:
HOSTNAME="arch"
#eth0="eth0 192.168.0.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255"

Why do i have to log on to my network every time i start to use my macbook pro.
I just started using a time capsule and every thing is working fine on my pc that is hooked to the network but every time I open my macbook pro I have to choose my network to join it. Any suggestions?
Also can the time capsule be used as a storage device for my pc and if so how do I set it up?

Try the following, in order, until (hopefully) resolved:
1a. Delete Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced > AirPort tab
Under "Preferred Networks," delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list.
1b. Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
1c. Add Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced > AirPort tab
Add the preferred network(s) using the "+" button.
Restart or log out then back in.
2. Move System Configuration Files
(Note: You will have to reestablish your network connections settings.)
Go to /Library/Preferences
Move the SystemConfiguration folder to the desktop.
Restart your Mac. (Note: OS X will rebuild the files that are now sitting on your desktop. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you can move the folder back to it's original location.)

Yes, the Time Capsule's (TC) internal HDD can be shared out to PCs. This is because in addition to the HFS+ protocol, the TC's File Sharing server uses SMB to allow PCs or Linux clients to access it. In addition to enabling the "Enable file sharing" option, you may need to enter a workgroup name in the Workgroup field. Both of these can be found on the File Sharing tab under Disks within the AirPort Utility. -

I´m having problems with my wifi an my new Macbook pro. It doesn´t remember the network so every time I log on - I have to "join a network". I have "ticked" the "remember password" box. I´m connecting to a wireless network on an regular Speedtouch router at home. I´m new to Mackintosh.

Reader 9.3.3 installs every time I start up my PC
I'm on Windows XP Professional, v 5.1.2600, Service Pack 2.
A while back I tried downloading and installing Adobe Reader 9.3.3 as an update to the old Reader I had. It never installed properly -- constant error messages, and it somehow wiped out the old Reader, too. IT told me about the FoxIt pdf reader, which I installed on a temporary basis until IT could get over here to investigate the Adobe Reader problem. While FoxIt was installed, I noticed that Adobe Reader 9.3.3 would attempt to install itself every. single. time. I. started. the. PC. Unsuccessfully! IT eventually came over to uninstall FoxIt and they found a way to successfully install Reader 9.3.3, but this application STILL tries to install itself every time I start up.
How do I get this to stop???? They tell me it has something to do with a script that's being called forth at startup ... ?????I found the following Adobe-related applications in the startup tab when I ran msconfig:
Reader_sl.exe
AdobeARM.exe
Acrotray.exe
Acrobat_sl.exe
Unchecking their boxes did not solve the problem. Abobe Reader 9.3.3 still installs itself upon every startup, making startup last a full 6 minutes.
Are there any other suggestions about how to fix this?
P.S. When I look in Add/Remove Programs within the control panel, I see that I have Adobe Acrobat 9 (v. 9.0.0), Acrobat.com (v. 2.1.0.0), and something that labels itself Adobe Reader 9.3.2, but it is actually version 9.3.3. -
Why is my library being repaired every time I start Aperature?

A while back, I suddenly started to get a wraning everytime I started Aperture 3, telling me that my library needs repairing. This happens now every time I start Aperture, and the rapair process takes ages (10-15 mins). Anyone know WHY? and how to solve this issue?

are you holding down cmd-option while starting the Aperture Application or while double clicking the Library? Try double clicking the Library, while holding down cmd-option.
If possible, turn on the "Activity Window" after you launch Aperture (Window -> Show Activity). With luck you can spot what Aperture is trying so desparately to repair. You may have one single corrupted image in the Library that Aperture is trying to repair. Then the problem could be solved by deleting this corrupted image.
Does Aperture work well, if you create a new, empty library?
File -> Switch to Library -> New
If you even have problems with a new, empty library, try to reinstall Aperture.
But if you can create a new library, and Aperture seems to work well with this Library, and if you have enough free disk space, you could try to clone your library by importing it into a new library, either by exporting several smaller libraries from your current library and then importing successively these smaller libraries into the new, empty library, or importing all at once. -
Every time FCPX starts I have to render my project
I experience a really awful problem...
Every time I start my project I have to re-render the whole timeline.
I'm using the latest version of everything, also from the CoreMelt plug-in I'm using in this project.
As long as the project is short this doesn't happen, but after 2 minutes project lenght this happens all the time.
I have 64 GB RAM so this should not be the problem.
The plugin developer stated that this is a FCPX background rendering problem, but when I switch it off it's not getting better.
Then I have to render it manually, before I can edit/watch the project.
I have one of the fastest MaPro's available 12 core and I work on a SSD-RAID0 with highest Data-Rates...
So what is the problem and how to solve this??wolfgang,
does this happen if you delete the coremelt fx from the clips ?
I have never had this problem. But I did demo the coremelt plugs and they gave me nothing but H++++
Not saying they are the culprit... But if FCPx was at fault I think we'd be hearing more of it...
Try creating a fresh project with no core melt of other effects in it but with the same clips.. Then render the timeline. Quit FCPx and relaunch and see if the problem persists...
If it does
Try deleting
/Users/YourFolder/Library/Caches/ EVERYTHING FCPx
/Users/YourFolder/Library/Preferences/ EVERYTHING FCPx
Reboot with shift held.. Then log it.. Then reboot normally -
I have to reconnect to my DAQ device every time I start my computer... Why?
Hello, I am Ricky, a process engineer intern at a company. I am still a novice at LabVIEW and NI MAX. We have one cDAQ9181 set up to pneumatics and another set up to an encoder. Now, every time I start my computer the pneumatics box is already connected, as expected. However, the encoder one is not. When I click on it in the sidebar, it is found and connects, but the encoder itself does not connect until I perform a self-test. These devices have stayed plugged in and connected overnight, and yield no other issues -- they should be connected as soon as the computer is on. Does anyone know what is going on and/or how to solve this? I can try to provide a picture if necessary.

Go to Solution.USB? You might want to check your USB power settings. By default, Windows likes to enable a power saving feature where it will turn off the USB hub power. This has caused a lot of problems with people using USB DAQ for long tests. But you can disable this feature by going into the Windows device manager and going into the USB hub settings.

Updating Adobe Community Help files fails every time after starting
Hello,
I e.g. go to «Support Center for Photoshop» from the menu within the app. Adobe Community Help starts up and tells me theres new content, do I want to download that. It seems to start the dl just fine, then reports an error «16882» (if I'm remembering it right).
Why? We have very fast very broadband internet connection and I use a 2011 27" iMac with max Gig RAM installed.
Any hints there would be appreciated.

Seems Adobe Air or Cummunity help has gone cprrupt. Lets follow the below suggestions:
Step 1: Uninstall adobe air from Utilities and re-install the latest adobe AIR from "http://get.adobe.com/air/otherversions/"
Step 2: Follow "http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/842/cpsid_84215.html" and re-install the Community Help Air application.
Step 3: Restart the machine and launch adobe Community Help and try to install all the updates and check if it works fine.

ITunes 7.0.1 hangs every time I start it
Ever since I upgraded iTunes from 6 to 7.0.1 it hangs every time I start it while it is "Determining Gapless Playback Information". It always hangs on the 19th song and I have to force quit iTunes just to be able to use my computer again. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I have managed to solve the problem. It seems that iTunes 7.0.1 is unable to play one album in my entire collection and it hangs if I try to have any songs from that album in my iTunes library. I managed to get iTunes working again by reimporting my iTunes library and then removing the offending album before it could get up to doing the gapless playback mojo on those tracks.
To reinstall the iTunes library
1- go to ~/Music/iTunes/
2- move iTunes Music Library.xml file to your desktop.
3- trash the iTunes Library file.
4- start up iTunes and go to ->File->Import and import the iTunes Music Library.xml file from your desktop.
Bare in mind if you have a big library that it will probably take a while to import your entire file list. Try removing the offending song from your iTunes library and see if it works.
Strangely, the offending mp3 files play fine if opened in Quicktime. It would seem that something to do with the files encoding is crashing iTunes gapless playback process. -
tried to reinstall OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and every time i start with the installation i get a requested time out message, had to shut down my MacBook Pro retina. Now when i start up it automatically start internet recovery for two ouers. After the internet recovery the same problem with reinstalling OSX message

I was wondering if someone can help me. I have a MacBook Pro, it has came up saying I need to free up space on the disk as it full every time it starts up, so I log in and no icons or applications show up on the screen just my background wallpaper, the only thing I can do is the force quit keyboard shortcut but there is nothing to quit, I have tried to start up in safe mode but again there is no icons in the desktop,
I have my disks that came with my laptop I have went into disk utility to repair disk and I still seem to have the same problem .. No icons or apps or anything lol just the cursor I can only shut down the laptop via power but and the press shut down.

Why is my computer slow? -
Trying to use a new, larger external hard drive for my Time Machine backup. However, every time I start the backup, it gets started then fails. And, I can't delete the few files that did save on the external. Sort of a catch 22. Any ideas?
Is it a USB hard drive? USB hard drives have the problem of not giving full speed if they are hooked up on the same bus as keyboards and mice. Double check your profiler to make sure that is not a problem. If it is Firewire, make sure there aren't other firewire devices in use at the same time. I recommend not only keeping a Time Machine backup, but also a clone, and if you do use Time Machine, to make sure the Time Machine drive or partition is at least twice the size of the original drive.

ITunes substituted older versions for my Playlist.
I drug 23 audio files from outside iTunes into a new iTunes playlist. However, iTunes immediately loaded older versions of those audio files (that had the same file name) from my iTunes library instead-and without any warning. What's with that? This
