New account, Entourage info gone...

I'm working on a client's mac, and 2 users need to work on the computer, so I setup another account. No prob. I'm no Entourage expert though. The administrator account has Entourage, with 2 users in it, so the ladies were simply opening Entourage, and choosing which user they were and bam.
So, I setup the new account, and when I opened Entourage, it retained no settings from before. Fine I went to Entourage on the admin side and exported everything. Didn't work. I re-plugged in all the settings for the one user - same thing. It connects, but all the stuff they had on the sides and whatnot is gone.
I know this is more an Entourage question, but also an account question. I even copied the Microsoft User Data folder or whatnot into the new account.
any ideas?

Ok-- you gotta be kidding me! After a little more research, I read somewhere that by "re-naming" the "Microsoft User Data" folder with all the Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac files, it will erase the email Entourage email database?  All I did was re-name it with a "Z" in front of it to push it down in my folders list. That can't possibly be true, can it?  I can't restore, rebuild or "switch identities" to get my data back!!!  Somebody help, if you can. Thanks.  Worst case, is that I have a much older harddrive back up that I think I can restore my folders..... Ugh.

  • Help! Performed software update, now emails and account info gone.

    Yesterday morning I performed the software update (Java, couple of security updates, QuickTime), and restarted.
    Essentially, every e-mail received between early November 2006 and yesterday is gone. All folders created since then (and since I have started a new business, there are a lot), as well as new account info (new provider for second business, separate from first) is gone, or at least missing in action.
    I've been backing up monthly, but for some reason there is no backup since one in January, and Backup (the software I've been using) apparently can't restore even that one – not that that will solve more than a small part of the problem.
    ANY suggestions on retrieving the missing emails will be gratefully received, as well as any ideas on how this happened in the first place.
    Victoria

    Problems arising right after installing a system update are usually the result of some filesystem corruption that should have been fixed first, or not having installed the update properly (e.g. applications running while installing it), or having ignored Apple’s "Important: Please read before installing" warnings, etc.
    Although you may have lost the account settings as a result of some preferences file corruption, you shouldn’t have lost any actual messages or mailboxes. Have you tried searching for them in Spotlight? In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Can you see the missing mail there?
    If the messages have really been deleted for some reason, and they are not on the server and you don’t have a backup, your only option in the case of Mail 2.x is to try to salvage as many deleted *.emlx files as possible with a data recovery tool such as Data Rescue II, TechTool Pro, or FileSalvage. Of these, the only one I know for sure that can currently recover deleted *.emlx files is FileSalvage. Stop using your computer right now if you want to try that, as anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted files to be overwritten.
    And you should also verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described in the following article, in case there is something amiss in the filesystem that has a bearing on what happened:

  • Last nov. i opened itunes only to find my account gone.  My email is linked to a new account that I have never accessed, its empty of information, like my bank account etc.  Help1

    My account that I had set up is gone, or I can't access it.  My old username is unfound by apple.  Ihave a new username but the accoun it links to is new, qith no info in it.  what happened to my old account?

    I am now on Chapter 3 & 4 -  Since this is the ONLY message board I can get into,
    & Roger, No, I never had a "mobile me account", if that's a cell phone - wouldn't own one! - IF it was from the Old Tiger mail Ap, I do believe it was discontinued, when they came out with Snow Lion, no? So that's defunct.  FYI I got my first computer in 1991 - DOS, good stuff, easy to fix. My first mac in 2006 Tiger, great stuff, loved it. Then Snowleopard, not sure when, maybe '09? it was just before Lion came out, didn't know the new one would come so soon. & in June 2012, first mac crashed, lost a year "unsaved" data.
    Q # 1. I can't get into My Account - to get into support & any questions! Somehow all my data is messed up, & I've had to change passwords 3 times today every time I'm "rejected" by my account. I seem to have 3 accounts now, each with a different name Password, & Security Questions! & I've been rejected due to: "Incorrect ID name", "Incorrect Password" & because whatever - doesn't" recognize my birth date" / or "my Security question answers" that I chose - all of which I know are correct. AGUH!
    My latest problems:
    1) Can you Unzip iPhotos, uploaded from a USB or External Drive (after my SL crashed)? The dpi for these old ones is about 250 x 360 (88 KB) compared to 2448 x 3264 (2.6 MB) for recent ones.
    - Do you need a program to do this? Some say there's a "free" program, any good? Can unzip be done to many or 1 at a time? Or is there something I haven't found in iPhoto '11, 9.2.1 (Lion)?
    [I now buy new Camera Memory cards & don't delete the photos anymore, since I lost so many.]
    2) Can I combine all 3 of my Apple ID info - or at least delete that 4 year old Email address in my profile? (IF I can ever get in. I wrote a "suggestion" to the Apple folks, who said my new Email was on it, & they'd send me an email - but I never got it, guess it went to the old one?

  • HT2534 Created an Apple id but it is asking for credit card info, and i dont want to give that, neither do i want to create a new account.

    Dont trust apple for my credit card info on my iphone5s. So is there any work around? dont want to change the appleID.
    Cant get the option of None in payment options. Even tried it by selecting my region as US.
    Tried to sign in from Icloud as well but it doesnt work.
    Please help..

    Unless you followed, exactly, the instructions on the HT2534 page that you posted from then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used in the store - you should be able to remove your card's details after entering it
    Changing payment info : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1918
    If you don't want to enter you card's details then you will need to create a new account, and use those instructions when creating it

    I deleted my old email address and added a new one, after my iPhone died iCloud keeps popping up asking for the password of my old email address. I can't remember my password and the account is still gone, it pops up every few seconds. How can I fix this?

    If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
    The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
    The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
    Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
    Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
    Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

  • I changed jobs and purchased a new iPhone I  no longer have any of my iBook information. My Apple account and name has changed is there any way to get the info I had in iBooks to my new phone under my new account?

    I changed jobs and bought a new phone. I would like to get my iBooks info on my new phone but it is under my old account. When I try to log in under the old account i get a message that I will not be able to log back onto my new account for a period of time. HOw do i get the information from my old account over to my new account?

    You can't currently transfer purchases/downloads from one account to another account.
    When you download past purchases from an account then you will potentially tie the device (or computer if you do it on that) to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627
    Have you got the ibooks already on your computer and/or on a backup so that you can sync them to your new iPhone ? If not then have you bought anything on your new account yet - could you go back to just using the old account ?

    iCloud now insisting on previous Apple id. Cannot log in.
    Will not accept new id and emails old id – a closed email account – with info.  How do I fix?

    If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID.  Then you can go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your ID back to the way it was.

  • Carrying over address info from new account created on checkout page

    Mario has written a great document on "Creating login functionality on eCommerce registration form for return customers"
    http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2529
    I used this to put a username/password at the bottom of the form for new customers to create an account. I have a question, though, is there any way to push the address info entered by the new customer into the checkout page into this new account?
    Thanks!
    Anne

    I wanted to update this since I figured out the fix:
    The fields located within the checkout page - e.g. BillingAddress, BillingCity, etc. -- do not correspond to the fields within the user's account details -- e.g. HomeAddress, HomeState, etc.
    What you need to do is create hidden fields within your checkout page which will be used to capture the billing address details from the checkout form and then copy them over to the user's newly created account.
    Here is your Username/Pass fields:
                    <label for="Username">Email Address or Create Unique Username</label>
                    <input type="text" name="Username" id="Username" class="cat_textbox" maxlength="255" />
                    <label for="Password">Password</label>
                    <input type="password" name="Password" id="Password" class="cat_textbox" maxlength="255" autocomplete="off" />
                     <label for="PasswordConfirm">Confirm Password</label>
                    <input type="password" name="PasswordConfirm" id="PasswordConfirm" class="cat_textbox" maxlength="255" autocomplete="off" />
    Here are your hidden fields:
                    <div style="display: none;">
                    <label for="HomeAddress">Home Address</label>
                    <input type="text" name="HomeAddress" id="HomeAddress" class="cat_textbox" maxlength="500" />
                    <label for="HomeCity">City</label>
                    <input type="text" name="HomeCity" id="HomeCity" class="cat_textbox" maxlength="255" />
                    <label for="HomeState">State</label>
                    <input type="text" name="HomeState" id="HomeState"  class="cat_textbox" maxlength="255" />
                    <label for="HomeZip">Zipcode/Postcode</label>
                    <input type="text" name="HomeZip" id="HomeZip" class="cat_textbox" maxlength="255" /></div>
    You'll need to implement some scripting to do the copying for you. But first you need an action to start the process. I put a checkbox under the password and username fields "Create an account for me" - The user checks it, the fields get copied and then the info is pushed to the user's account.
    Since I'm no js coder: I used Mario's extremely helpful post on "Setting the billing address to be the same as the shipping address" as a guide to creating the code. Shout out, Mario! http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2814
    Put this underneath your username/password fields:
    <input type="checkbox" onclick="CopyAddress(this.checked);" /> Create an account for me, please
    Then add your script at the bottom of the form.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function CopyAddress(checked) {
              if (checked) {
                        document.getElementById('HomeAddress').value = document.getElementById('BillingAddress').value;
                        document.getElementById('HomeCity').value = document.getElementById('BillingCity').value;
                        document.getElementById('HomeState').value = document.getElementById('BillingState').value;
                        document.getElementById('HomeZip').value = document.getElementById('BillingZip').value;
    </script>
    Be sure to add these fields into your webform -- Site Manager-->Webforms -- before you start to customize. Just copying and pasting code into existing webforms does not work. And don't make the username and password fields manadatory. It might result in an abandoned cart for those that just want to check out as a guest.
    I hope this is useful to someone out there. It has worked great for me!

    Personally, I suggest you don't put a credit card in your iTunes account until you are actually going to make a purchase. Then there's no chance of anyone using it or your iTunes account for purchases.
    To remove the old card  number, edit the account (as mentioned in the previous posts above) and select None.

  • It seems at some point, my husband and I merged accounts.  And whenever I received a message, his phone was notified as well.  We turned off icloud, then I turned it back on with my new account info.  Can I receive my old contacts on my new apple id?

    I am out all of my contacts, trying to figure out a way to send them to my new apple id so I don't have to retype everything back into the phone.  Any advice is appreciated!

    You and your husband can share a store account and still have seperate iCloud accounts for your contacts, bookmarks and stuff like that.  Click here for instructions to make an apple account without entering a credit card.  Make sure you use a different email address for each apple account.
    Set up your iPhone/iPad whatever using the new account for iCloud.  Then go into settings/store and sign in with your purchasing account, you may need to sign out of the other account.  To the best of my knowledge, your household is allowed to share purchased legally, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
    Once you each have your own devices set to your own accounts you can set them to backup to that account and it will keep all your contacts seperate.
