New browser window for Jump Query

Hi SAPGuru,
     I have main Query with three jumps Query (QA, QB, QC). I created web template with main query and three other web templates for jump query. All are working fine. When I am running main query template and trying to jump from main query to “QA” web template. Its open a new browse window that’s fine. So now I have total two browsers are open. Now when I try to jump from main query to “QB” that web template is showing in the browser window which is shown by “QA”. Means it’s overwrite “QA” query with “QB” query in browser.
     I need to open a new browser window when I jump from main query to child query. In short I like to open one browser for main query and three another browsers (QA, QB, QC) to jump query so, I can compare all query with different browser window.
         Am I missing something in web template side or IE’s option side?
         Thanks in advance...

Check the RRI_DISPLAY_TARGET property of the web template. make sure you do not have this set to open in the QA window.
Thanks.

  • Opening New Browser window for click event on an image

    hi all,
    I want someone to help me out solving the problem of opening
    a new browser window on the mouse click event of an image or a
    button etc.... The new window would contain the datagrid details
    from the main window, but in an expanded form. If at all there is a
    solution, I even want to know whether there is anyway for sizing
    the poped up window,because I dont want the new poped up window to
    cover the entire screen.
    For getting better idea of my problem, the best example I
    could give is the popup window that appears when we click on the
    preview button while posting the message to the forum.
    Someone please do help me out in this regard.
    Thanks,
    amar.

    I'd definitely try to use a Flex popup... but the
    flash.net.navigateToURL method is a simple way to open a popup
    window in a new browser. You can pass any data needed by the new
    page using the URLRequest and/or URLVariables. The URL you navigate
    to could, of course, be another Flex application if necessary. I
    use this only when I need to open a popup window on another site,
    or an HTML formatter report or something similar.
    Concerning yourself with the size of the popup window may be
    a bad design choice also. I, for example, have my browser
    configured to open all popups in a new tab regardless of sizing
    constraints imposed by the designer. If it is absolutely necessary
    for you to have control over the size of your popup window, you
    should follow the advice given by others and use a Flex
    popup.

  • New Browser Window for SWG File

    If you go to my page at
    http://community-kitchen.org/News_Letters/2005winter/index.html
    And try and open the new browser button for the Flash Paper

    Does anyone have the answer to this?

  • New browser window from single movie frame?

    Sorry but I am a total newbie>
    I have a 4 frame movie imported into one layer and want to
    specify a different URL to be opened in a separate window for each
    frame. So I have made each frame a keyframe and added from the
    behaviors a geturl event for each frame. When this is published it
    loops the movie and opens a new browser window for every frame for
    every loop, resulting in dozens of browser windows. How can I make
    this a mouse clickable event so only when I click on a frame will
    the new browser window launch?
    I am trying to use onrelease, but I am not sure how this
    should work as I can't find a good example.

    1) you can't 'click on a frame' in the SWF file when it's
    running, you must click on a 'button' or 'movieclip' instance the
    you construct ON a particular frame, or all in the same frame with
    different buttons on theStage.
    2) you need to add a 'stop()' action to your actions layer to
    stop the SWF from 'playing' which is why it continues to open more
    windows, MovieClip timelines play and loop by default.
    3) more information that you will ever need is located in the
    Flash Help files(F1) along with many tutorials to learn the basic
    concepts, open them and go to 'Getting Started in Flash' to learn
    some basics.

  • Open QT In New Browser Window - Followup Q For Quicktime Kirk

    Quicktime Kirk:
    I found a thread a few months ago (now archived) where you explained how to open a QT movie in a new browser window at specified dimensions. The example you gave was your page:
    http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/bushbashquiz/
    So I've got it all working and it looks great in Safari and Fireworks (thanks very much!), BUT unfortunately it does not work in Explorer. What happens in Explorer is that the window basically targets "_.self" (i.e. the parent window goes away), and when you click the "Close Window" button it closes the window and you're left with nothing.
    I know that Explorer has all kinds of bugs, but unfortunately it's popular -- esp. with the PC crowd whom I need to allow for. Do you or anyone know how to get this functionality working in Explorer???
    Thanks again.

    Yep. I just checked the link using IE for Mac. The "pop-up" window replaces the source window (not supposed to do that). Another reason to no longer use IE on a Mac.
    The javascript is valid in every other Mac browser. Just not IE, it seems.
    My PC is down (I think it really died this time) so I can't test its implementation of javascripts on a PC platform.
    And, you're correct. It doesn't work as it should when opened using IE on a Mac.
    I "borrowed" the javascript and it must contain errors that are not so obvious on the Mac OS.
    I'll look for the cause but can't promise a solution. Thank you for pointing this out. I try very hard to accommodate all browsers and OS's. This one skipped by me (no IE use in years on my Mac).
    Maybe a javascript guru can "fix" my (or IE's) sloppy page code.

  • JavaScript for opening a new browser window.

    Hi all,
    Let me start by saying that I'm not JavaScript savvy at all.
    I have two buttons on a slide and I want each to open a new browser window.
    I Googled for a script and found this:
    window.open ('URL')
    I tried in my project and it worked fine but the browser window that my project was running in also changed.
    I've attached a .gif image of what happens to my project window when either of the two buttons is clicked.
    Can anyone help??

    You can check the home page setting:
    *Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
    You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
    Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
    *Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
    Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

  • Cache problem for servlet opening new browser window

    Requirement:
    I have JSP page say summary.jsp with link "print account summary"
    When user clicks on this link, new browser open with PDF document of summary.jsp
    This new browser window should not have address bar and toolbar.
    Solution:
    Servlet called PrintSummary which sets contenttype=application/pdf and sends the data to outputstream.
    href of link is
    Java script function is:
    function openWindow(url){
    window.open(url,'blank','toolbar=no')
    Problem:
    Since the URL of this new window is
    http:// host:portnumber/PrintSummary
    Even if I click the "Print summary" link for account2,
    being the same URL (http:// host:portnumber/PrintSummary) it accesses the existing page in the cache which is created for account 1.
    In href if I just use servlet url as
    I get the expected behaviour but then I don't have control on browser appearance and browser window will be with address bar and toolbar.
    The only option I could think of was changing URL as follows:
    <% String url ="javascript:openWindow('PrintSummary? var1="+ Math.random()+"')";
    So that URL is different all the time
    Is there any way to solve this problem?

  • Why is Firefox opening a separate browser window for each link instead of a new tab in the current browser window?

    Suddenly firefox has started opening a new, separate browser window for every link and thing I open. It used to just open a new tab in the current browser. I must have closed down 15 browsers when trying to get back to a previous web page - the back button doesn't work when each click leads to a new window opening! I went into options and my settings have not changed, they still say "open new tab" for links. This just started happening out of the blue today. What's up?

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Managed Attachments - creating a customCO for 'Managed Attachments' and opening a new browser/window  as ActionEvent through processFormRequest()

    Hi All,
    I am working on 'Managed Attachments' integration of Oracle E-Business Suite with Oracle WebCenter Content and I am very new to EBS.
    As per the customer requirement, we needed to enable the Managed Attachments on an SIT page (Employee Self Service --> Special Information-> and click on 'Add' for any of the 'Special Information' section) and the values they fill on these pages need to be passed to webcenter content.  As you know these segment data will not be inserted into the database until the user clicks on 'Submit' button from the review page,
    But the customer wants to save it on the 'Special Information' add page itself.
    Managed Attachments is an out of the box feature offered by Oracle WebCenter Content to replace FND Attachments functionality. Instead of storing the attachments in EBS, it will store to WebCenter Content.
    My requirements are as follows
    1) Enable the managed attachments on he special information 'add' page (e.g Company Property, Disabilities etc),- I am able to do this
    2) The data user fills in these fields , when user clicks on 'Managed Attachments' button , these values should be passed to the URL for managed attachments(which is already set on the button through processRequest() method when the page gets loaded) and thus pass to webcenter content
    With these requirements, the challenges i am facing are
    1) Since the user clicks on 'Managed Attachments' before even he/she clicks on 'Apply' button, how do I capture these values? can pageContext.getParameter('id') can get these?
    (i have already tried to do this in processFormRequest() method and i found that it is working for LOV fields but not for text fields)
    2) if i can get the values in processFormRequest(), how can i open a browser/window for the new URL()
    e.g, i wanted to write something like this and the finalURL is what i wanted to open in a new browser or window as the actionEvent
        public void processFormRequest(OAPageContext pageContext,   OAWebBean webBean) {
    super.processFormRequest(pageContext, webBean);
       String param1 = pageContext.getParameter(“Param1”);
    String param2 = pageContext.getParameter(“param2”);
    String redirectURL = “http://rstnssiovm0072.us.oracle.com:8000/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/ak/ucm/axf/webui/RedirectToAxfPG&bypassPageCounterIncr=Y&retainAM=Y”;
    String paramURL = “&Parameter1=”+ param1+”&Parameter2=”+ param2;
    String finalURL = redirectURL+paramURL;
    Code part to open the url in a new browser/window
    If anybody can help me with these part, it will be a great help
    thanks a lot in advance
    Regards
    Poornima

    Hi Poornima ,
    Has your prob resolved ? Have you made Managed attachment working via standard adapter as per UCM Admin guide ?
    Configuring the Managed Attachments Solution - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1)
    1. You have first store in some VO if you want to pass this metadata to UCM page , other wise it will not work .Take temp table /VO to store first then same can passed to UCM page as input parameters
    2.What needs to be passed , please refer webcenter guide with key examples given
    Once it is configured properly automatically params will be associated with URL which actually will open UCM page with metadata ( params) being passed.
    Thanks,
    Ashish

  • Conditionally opening a new browser window from a JSP page

    When the user clicks on a button in my JSP page, I'd like to launch a new browser and display certain things in that browser window while leaving the original browser window open. The new browser should only be displayed if certain conditions are met.
    My thought was to invoke a javascript method in 'onLoad' which would determine if the new window needs to be launched.
    This is kinda what my page looks like:
    <jsp:root version="1.2" ................>
        <jsp:directive.page import="java.util.*, com.test.Configuration" contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8"/>
        <f:view>
         <ui:body binding="#{Page1.body1}" id="body1" onLoad="launchWindow();">
         </ui:body>
       </f:view>
       <script type="text/javascript">
            function launchWindow(){
             if (Configuration.openWindow()) {
              window.open("hello.jsp", "newWindow", 'toolbar,width=400,height=400');
        </script>
    </jsp:root>
    My problem is that the call to "Configuration.openWindow()" does not resolve correctly. If I remove that call and simply make a call to "window.open()" all works. But once I put the condition in, nothing happens. I do not see an exception in my browser window but a new browser window does not open.
    Is my syntax correct. Can I make a call to the static method 'openWindow()' in my class 'Configuration.java'.
    I posted this same query on the JSF forum but received now replies. My question is more suited to the JSP forum and hence I'm posting this question here.
    thanks,
    tsc

    I have made some changes so that I do not directly access the 'Configuration' class in my javascript.
    I have a hidden field on my form and when the user clicks the button, in my back bean, I set a value for the hidden field. In the javascript function 'launchWindow()' I check if a value has been set for the hidden field and if yes, I open a new window.
    <ui:body binding="#{Page1.body1}" id="body1" onLoad="launchWindow(document.forms[0]);">
    <h:inputText id="hiddenField" value="#{formBean.hiddenValue}" />
    <script type="text/javascript">
            function launchWindow(form){
                alert("in lw");
                var test = form["form1:hiddenField"].value;
                alert("got test");
                if (test !=  "")
                    window.open("hello.jsp", "newWindow", 'toolbar,width=400,height=400');
                alert ("done test");
    </script>When my page is first loaded, the launchWindow() is called and all the alerts popup as expected.
    When I click on the button (the back bean sets the value on the hidden field), my page is reloaded but this time its blank.
    Any ideas as to why this maybe the case?
    thanks,
    tsc

    zzsara wrote:
    I want to open a new browser window and display the html file in local drive. ...Did you ever pause to consider how ridiculous that is?
    The best audience for applets is people off the internet. 'People off the internet' might be using a computer that has no (what was it?) 'open.html' in the root of the C: drive. In fact (shock horror) they may not even be running Windows, and would therefore probably have no 'C:' drive at all.
    If you do not intend to distribute this to people off the web, an application makes a lot more sense, but even then, you cannot rely on the document being there unless you 'put it there' (during installation, for instance).
    As the other poster intimated, applets can load documents off the local disk as long as they are trusted. Here is an example*, but note that it is not so rash as to presume any particular path or file, and instead leaves it to the user to choose the document to display.
    * The short code can be seen at SDNShare on the [Defensive Loading of Trusted Applets|http://sdnshare.sun.com/view.jsp?id=2315] post.
    On the other hand, a sandboxed applet can load any document coming from its own server via URL, or get showDocument(URL) to work. In that case, the JRE must recognize that the URL is from its own server, so the best way to form URLs for applet use is via the URL constructor
    new URL(getDocumentBase(), "path/to/open.html");That is how I form the URL in this [ sandboxed example of formatting source|http://pscode.org/fmt/sbx.html?url=/jh%2FHelpSetter.java&col=2&fnt=2&tab=2&ln=0]. Of course, in this case the applet loads the document, then parses the text to draw the formatted version, but the point is that an URL produced this way will work with showDocument(URL).
    I am pretty sure showDocument() in an applet off the internet will work with an URL pointing to a foreign (not its own) server, but it will not be able to load documents off the end user's local disks.
    I suggest a couple of things.
    - Try to express this problem in terms of what feature it is that you want to offer the end user. Your question jumps directly to a bad strategy for achieving ..who knows what? An example of a feature is "Shows the applet 'help' files on pressing F1".
    - A good way to indicate interest in a solution is to offer [Duke stars|http://wikis.sun.com/display/SunForums/Duke+Stars+Program+Overview] to match that interest.
    Edit 1:
    ..and please figure out how to use the CODE tags.

  • Command to open a PDF generated Oracle Report in New browser window

    I know this is probably something for the Oracle Forums but I'll ask anyway because I can't find any info out there on this, without some extra work.
    I am generating a PDF file from 10g Oracle reports on Linux RHEL 5 and storing the PDF file to the server. I can send that PDF file directly to a printer with the "lpr" command and that part works fine.
    What I'm wanting to do now is "View" the PDF from within the server in a new window. We are using RHEL 5 (Linux) platform and I'm trying to see if there is a way to open the file with a "command line" command that will open it in a new browser window or new window period (opening it with Adobe Acrobat).
    Does anyone have a command that will do this? Otherwise, how has everyone else been handling this. The idea of just viewing the previously generated PDF Report file will save us overhead on our database servers because they won't have to re-run some of the same reports over and over.
    Any help and assistance is appreciated.
    Chris

    Several options:
    - If you only want to show the pdf to the client without printing, use destype=cache and use WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT after the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT (for examples search the forms-forum, there are lots)
    -If you have to generate the pdf to a file to get it printed, you could
    +use WEBUTIL_FILETRANSFER.AS_TO_CLIENT after the printing to transfer the file to the client, then use CLIENT_HOST to view it.
    +map the appserver-directory you generate the report to as a virtual directory in the application-server then use WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT to directly access the generated file via url.

  • How to open a new browser window without toolbar, location, and menu bars from AIR?

    I have the following problem in my Flex+AIR application. I need to embed an ActiveX component that has JavaScript API inside my application. I tried to embed it inside <mx:HTML> component but unfortunately, AIR doesnot support plug-ins or ActiveX controls. So I've decided to open it in a new browser window. I tried navigateToURL(...) method but it has two problems - it is opening a new tab in the existing browser window and there is no way for me to configure the new browser window appearance, like removing toolbar, menu bar, location bar, etc. Then I tried to open a new window from JavaScript running inside <mx:HTML> component using window.open(...) API but it doesn't open a new window at all.
    Is there any way for me to open a new browser window without toolbar, location bar, etc. (which will run ActiveX control, so it cannot be AIR window) from inside AIR?
    Best regards,

    Is it possible to open a new browser window using JSP?a JSP page is also an HTML page, this is client side stuff, you can do it with JavaScript.

  • New browser window problem

    I have many links on one page of my site that open in a new window. After clicking on an image that is in the middle of a page to open a new browser window, when returmning to the original page it has scrolled back up to the top of that page again.
    Is there any way of ensuring that the orginal page stays in the place where you left it when returning from a new browser window?
    See link:
    http://www.nigelhewitt.com.au/_links/MainMenuLinks/CurrentArtwork.htm#
    See, for example, if you click on even the second image down and then press close window, that the original page has scrolled back to the top.
    Please help!

    Your behavior is improperly applied directly to the <img> tag.  It SHOULD have been applied to the anchor tag that surrounds the image.  In addition, the symptoms you report are caused by your use of the octothorpe to create the 'null link'.  In general, behaviors should never be applied directly to image tags.  So, change this -
    <a href="#"><img src="../../_images/Transience- small.jpg" alt="Transience" width="350" height="321" border="0" onClick="MM_openBrWindow('../EnlargedImages/Transience.htm','CurrentImages','scrollbars=yes,resiza ble=yes,width=1000,height=800')"></a>
        to this -
    <a href="#" onClick="MM_openBrWindow('../EnlargedImages/Transience.htm','CurrentImages','scrollbars=yes,resiza ble=yes,width=1000,height=800')"><img src="../../_images/Transience- small.jpg" alt="Transience" width="350" height="321" border="0" ></a>
    Next, to get around the use of the octothorpe for the null link, you have to kill the link completely 'onclick' by adding 'return false' to the behavior call, like this -
    <a href="#" onClick="MM_openBrWindow('../EnlargedImages/Transience.htm','CurrentImages','scrollbars=yes,resiza ble=yes,width=1000,height=800');return false"><img src="../../_images/Transience- small.jpg" alt="Transience" width="350" height="321" border="0" ></a>
    Finally, to give yourself a hedge against someone coming to your site with javascript disabled (in which case your open browser window will no longer work), copy the popup's filename to the link to replace the octothorpe, like this -
    <a href="'../EnlargedImages/Transience.htm" onClick="MM_openBrWindow('../EnlargedImages/Transience.htm','CurrentImages','scrollbars=yes,resiza ble=yes,width=1000,height=800')"><img src="../../_images/Transience- small.jpg" alt="Transience" width="350" height="321" border="0" ></a>
    Now you're all set.
    You can find a DW extension to do this dirty work for you by searching the Adobe exchange for "Smart Link" by David Powers.
