Hi Jessica,
On the iOS mobile app, communities with sub-communities are identified by a blue arrow next to the community.  If you tap on the community name you will be taken to the community, if you tap on the blue arrow you will be taken to the sub-communities within that parent community.  For Android tapping on the arrow next to the community name will expand that community to show any sub-communities underneath it.  I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Kent

  • Cisco Technical Support v3.9 - New Features / Enhancements

Often times, the most appreciated enhancements are often subtle, going unnoticed, but naturally slipping into users workflows. Throughout the past year, we performed several rounds of usability studies, bringing customers and partners in house, giving them an actual device to interact with, asking them to perform general tasks, and then video taping their progress as they try to complete the task.
These sessions are quite humbling - ripping apart our assumptions, and beliefs about how users would leverage the Cisco Technical Support mobile app. Over the past couple of releases, we've tried to address a few of these usability issues in order to improve the overall experience.
    Product Specific-Support
Under "Product Information", "Product Specific-Support" provides a filtering mechanism to help assist users locate mobile ready support pages, aggregating all the documentation, software downloads and community content for a specific model (Example: Catalyst 6513-E Switch).
When watching users try to locate a specific model, we realized the filter mechanism was "broken". Before, the app would try to do an explicit string match across the entire term. While one user could locate the "Catalyst 6513-E", another user filtering on "6513-E Catalyst" could not. With this latest release, the filtering mechanism separates each term independently, "AND'ing" them as appropriate to refine the list of possible matches.
    Support Cases
Another area where users often had difficulty was around looking up co-worker's support cases. As a team, we naturally thought users would leverage the support case search functionality to locate cases by their co-worker's CCOID. We quickly realized not only do people not have their co-workers CCOID memorized, users expected to see all open cases associated with their company under "My Open Cases".
One of the first things we added to the app was "My Open Cases" to allow a fast track path to all open cases created by the logged in user. While watching the usability studies, we quickly realized we needed something similar for all open cases associated with an end-customer's company. In a recent release, we added a menu option for "All Open Cases" to provide a quick path to all your company's open support cases.
    Other Enhancements
Tools to help our internal teams more efficiently manage their High Touch and Focused Technical Service customers
Added support for iOS8 and iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+
Added support for Android 5.0 (Lollipop)
Backend systems work to lay the foundation for future push notifications (more info to be provided in the new year)
    Want to Help?
Many of the enhancements will undoubtedly go "un-noticed". In the short time that the've become available, we already see increased usage in these areas, providing us some positive confirmation that we are headed in the right direction.
If you happen to be in the San Jose, CA area, and you would like to be an integral part of helping improve the Cisco Technical Support mobile app by participating in a usability study, either send me a PM or start a discussion thread and we'll add you to our pool of end user testers.

  • Cisco Technical Support v3.7 - New Features

Accurately Update Installed Location. The Cisco Tech Support mobile application—available for Apple or Android—provides smartphone and tablet access to critical Technical Services support such as support documentation, service request creation and update, serial number scan and lookup, and contract entitlement.
Now we have enhanced this robust application with new features for Cisco Support Contract holders. It’s easier than ever to search for support cases, including by RMA number. Push notifications let your customers know when a TAC engineer is assigned to a case opened in the mobile app. Tap on the notification, and we'll launch the app and take you straight to your support case.  And, you can easily and accurately update device Installed base information with a click. Simply scan the Cisco product bar code using a mobile device’s camera and, at the prompt, use the GPS function of the mobile device to pinpoint the installed location of that device. Or, if preferred, input the address manually. As soon as the location information is verified and associated with your customer’s service contract, they’ll be sure to receive faster, more accurate service. And you and Cisco will have more complete and accurate customer information for service and renewals.
Have you not tried the app before? The app is broken into two types of content - Entitled and Non-Entitled. If a user has an active support contract they can:
View, Update (add notes and attach photos) and Create Cisco Support Cases. If you open a case through the app, we'll send you a push notification when a TAC Engineer has been assigned. Tap on the push notification, and we'll launch the app, and bring you straight to the case in question.
View RMA Details tied to a support case
Contact your assigned TAC Engineer, Field Engineer and On-Site Contact (later two for RMAs) directly by phone or email
Look up entitlement info by serial number. A bar code scanner is provided to make it easier to capture the info
View list of contracts you are associated with. Tap on the "calendar icon" to add a reminder in your calendar 90 & 60 days prior to the contract expiring (some partners have indicated this is a nice sales reminder)
Access to a mobile version of Bug Search Tool
    Non Entitled users can:
View Externalized TAC Authored Content (TAC Support Docs)
Have access to aggregated support information (config guides, data sheets, installation instructions, etc), software downloads and community content specific to a model via "Product Information" then "Select a Product"
Access to support related videos, podcasts (includes TAC Security Podcast) and RSS Feeds (includes several several nice security related feeds).

    Hello
I has to look his up - Answer D
    Wikipedia states:
    In cryptography
, a *stream cipher* is a symmetric key
     cipher
where plaintext digits are combined with apseudorandom
     cipher digit stream (keystream
). In a stream cipher each plaintext
     digit
is encrypted one at a time with the corresponding digit of the keystream, to give a digit of the ciphertext stream. An alternative name is a *state cipher*, as the encryption of each digit is dependent on the current state. In practice, a digit is typically a bit
and the combining operation an exclusive-or
     (xor).

  • Creating new feature in ADF mobile application creates unnecessary folders

    Hi,
Jdev 11.1.2.3.0 with ADF mobile extension
    Windows 7, 64 bit.
When I create a new feature in a ADF mobile application and change the name of the feature in the create wizard Jdeveloper creates some unnecessary folders.
    e.g.:
    - Default package of the mobile application is "com.name.mobile"
    - I entered the feature name "testFeature1" in the create-feature wizard.
--> follwing folders has been created:
    - com.name.mobile.tes
    - com.name.mobile.testFeature1
In some of my tests up to 4 directories has been created for 1 new feature.
I have opened windows file explorer parallel to Jdeveloper and opened the folder where the sub-folders for the feature will be created.
So I was able to see at which action the folders are created.
It definitelly happens when using backspace key!
Sometime it happens then the last character has been deleted from the name field and sometimes it happens earlier.
    Problem:
    =======
I have created an SR on metalink for this but unfortunatelly the support engineer is not able to reproduce the isse on his machine.
So I installed Jdev on a new machine and on this new machine I also could NOT reproduce the isse.
On my own machine I can still reproduce the issue.
What I have done so far:
    =================
    - I have already re-installed Jdev on my own machine from scratch (deleted all existing Jdev files and folders).
    - Restarted my computer
    - I use the standard JDK shipped with Jdev 11.1.2.3.0.
    - created several new test applications with Jdev. In each application I can reproduce the issue.
Maybe someone else already has noticed similar issues?
Does someone has any ideas what may be wrong on my Jdev installation?
    regards
    Peter

  • Feature Request: Collection Support

I already submitted this as part of a long laundry list of feature requests. Its becoming pressing enough that I thought it warranted its own post.
The purpose of this feature is to allow collections to be built using any programmatic algorithm combining information available ala SDK or XMP. Example function calls:
    - LrCollections.createNewCollection( collectionName, clearIfAlreadyExisting )
    - LrCollections.addToCollection( photo )
    That would do it.

Dynu.com uses a HTTP-update mechanism. So you can change the updater-settings in your config to match the syntax from dynu. The URL is shown in their SDK: http://downloads.dynu.com/files/basic_sdk.txt

  • Mobile App Development with 4.0 ?

    Greetings!
I am just about to get into mobile app development. Our Company thou still operates Apes 4.0 and we are waiting for the 4.2 release, before we do the upgrade. On the other hand, the mobile app should be ready earlier due to customer requests.
Now I myself I am still quite new to Apex. I have done some research about what you can do with earlier versions, but havn't really found anything very usefull yet. So I would like so ask here for some advice. I could try building the GUI myself with jquery, installing the latest jquery/mobile versions, fixing the templates, building my own templates, etc., but that would be a humungous work and not the apex-idea.
Are there template plugins for tablet and iPhone GUI elements, that - maybe with a little tweeking - run on apex 4.0, including the touch-screen effects like "swiping" to the next page?
Or would you suggest, to upgrade to 4.1, even thou in 3-4 months we might have to make the upgrade again?
For any link to related articles I will be very gratefull, too.
    Best regards,
    tobi

1)Which is the latest version that supports mobile app development ?None.
1.3 did support mobile development to some limited extent, but that is a deprecated dead branch and no longer supported.
You can run JavaFX on a Windows 7 or 8 tablet PC, but my guess is that by mobile app development you mean iOS/Android - neither of which are supported.
2)Will it have the cross device support?Perhaps there will be a version of JavaFX that runs on iOS/Android at some time in the future.
There are people working on making this possible =>
http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/openjfx-dev/2013-May/007632.html "OpenJFX on iOS using RoboVM"
    3) How about the performance and security? Can't really talk about performance and security of something which doesn't exist.

  • New features in CC 2014

Kelbyone.com has put together a collection of videos pointing out the new features in all of the apps.
Sign up - it's free for this stuff - and you can click on the appropriate icon to jump to the tutorials you are interested in. You don't need to give them a real e-mail address. They don't verify it.
    http://kelbyone.com/cc-resources

First of all, let's just hope Adobe fixes this issue in the next version. My workaround:
    1. Turn on Snap to Grid and the Grid and using Guides create your own grid. Tedious work, but handles actually still snap to the intersection of Guides.
    2. In the Preference panel, choose your Guides color to match the Grid color. This way you won't notice the difference.
    3. Turn off the Grid but leave Snap to Grid on for easy anchor placement.
    4. Name the layer you did this on 'Grid' or something. Do not lock this layer, otherwise this improvised 'handle snapping feature' won't work.
    5. Create a new layer on top of your 'Grid' layer. This new layer will be the first layer to work on.
    6. Save this file as a template to do your linework on.
Keep in mind that the 'Grid' layer isn't locked, so you could accidentally drag a Guide out of place...
    Hope this helps!

  • Clarification on new feature in OBIEE 10.1.3.4 - Metadata Dictionary

    Hi,
I need clarification on this new feature "Metadata Dictionary" available in 10.1.3.4. This is documented in the OBIEE NEw Feature Guide, http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e10416.pdf, page 17.
I have a potential customer who wants to know if OBIEE has a facility to help business user come up to speed with the available subject areas, tables and columns. This will help them learn about the business content available so they will know which subject areas/columns to use to build ad-hoc report development. Does the new feature "metadata dictionary" support this requirement. Can you point me to where I can play or learn more about this feature?
    Thanks!
    Khai

First and foremost: did you already try it out? In general, yes a metadata dictionary can achieve what you're asking for, but the devils as always in the detail and/or in what the users accept.
Simply follow the steps outlined in Venkats blog here -> http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/08/23/oracle-bi-ee-10133-metadata-dictionary-statistics/
...and then see if this satisfies your needs.
    Cheers,
    C.

  • NFL Mobile app

It was announced today by verizon that more everything customers will receive premium features for the NFL Mobile app for free  for the 2014-2015 NFL season instead of the $5 subscription fee in years past.  I installed the NFL Mobile app on my elipsis tablet and after 2 hours on the phone with verizon i was told this app in incompatible with the verizon elipsis.  I was able to watch videos that are included with the app, but i wont be able to tell if i can watch football games on this tablet until football season  starts. Does anyone else have a better answer for me?

    Hi Eric,
Premium features on the NFL Mobile app can only be activated for Smartphones. The app does not have a live games option on tablets.
Below is a snippet I copied from the application information available in the Playstore.
"Verizon customers can upgrade to Premium Features on their smartphone for access to NFL RedZone on Sundays, and watch LIVE local Sunday NFL games in addition to Thursday, Sunday and Monday nights...."
Although it is not the answer you were hoping for, we wanted to answer your question. I forwarded your feedback to the product development team.
