New implementation of toString() in Object.

I think that it would be nice if the toString method in Object class also returns the data in the object.
In the same way as org.apache.commons.lang.builder.ToStringBuilder does.

Well, Object is the super of all classes so it will be too generic to know what data structure it holds to return the data in its toString() method. Therefore it's up to you to write the toString() method in your own class for it to return.

  • Problem in creating new implementation for filter dependent badi

    Hi Experts,
I want to use badi NOTIF_EVENT_POST.It is a filter dependent badi. It is asking filter type while implementing thro se19. Could anyone pls tel me how to create new implementation for the filter dependent badi. Existing filter type is QMART. is there any problem if i change the filter type?
    Thanks in Advance!

    Hi ,
NOTIF_EVENT_POST is filter dependent and filter values are based on QMART value in table TQ80. You need to specify the filter value ie : QMART value before implimentation , before that check all active implimentations for the same , if u have to impliment on same filter value , you need to deactivate the one which is implimented on same filter value .
You are not supposed to change the filter type.

  • How to create a new user without any sample objects from any other user?

    Question as the title.
I had the example dababase installed when I installed the Oracle database.
Every time, when I create a new user, there will be some example objects coming
    with the new user.
How can I remove these objects from the new user?
Or, how can I create a new user without the example objects?
    Thanks in advance.

I think the easiest way for you would be to use OEM.
Just locate each object that you want to remove and right click->remove. Don't bother doing this for any indexes as these will be removed when you drop the corresponding tables.
If you want to try command line through sqlplus then identify the objects you want to remove by selecting from the user_objects view while logged in as this user. This will give you the name and type of object. Then issue the relevant drop command.
It's probably worth making sure you have a valid backup first, just in case things go wrong!

  • OC4J 10.1.2 - No XPathFactory implementation found for the object model

    Hello,
We are doing some maintenance on an old 10.1.2.3.0 container. The project has to be extended with a library built with xml-apis-1.3.03.jar. I know you will suggest a upgrade, but that is a no-go - sorry, since other projects also are running on this server. So I hope some of you remember or know how to avoid or replace the oracle xml parser.
It seems like it gets the wrong XPathFactory
XPathFactory#newInstance() failed to create an XPathFactory for the default object model: http://java.sun.com/jaxp/xpath/dom
with the XPathFactoryConfigurationException: javax.xml.xpath.XPathFactoryConfigurationException: No XPathFctory implementation found for the object model:
I have searched the documentation for 10.1.2 and everything relevant on the Internet for a solution, but i seems to non-trivial when dealing with oracle xml parser. We tried to put the jar-files (xml-apis-1.3.03.jar, xercesImpl-2.8.0.jar, xalan-2.6.0.jar) in the endorsed library under the jdk, and we have already added <web-app-class-loader search-local-classes-first="true" include-war-manifest-class-path="true"/> to our orion-web.xml.
I also know that the <shared-library> tag got introduced in 10.1.3 where you easily can replace the parser.
Any ideas on how to deal with this exception or comments to the interpretation on the exception are appreciated.

    Hello,
You are correct, in OracleAS 10g (10.1.2), Oracle does not expose JMX MBean server.
OracleAS 10g R3 (10.1.3) is a J2EE 1.4 container will full support for JMX, and all the JSR-77 MBeans exposed. You can also create and register your own MBeans.
Could you give us the different requirements you have around JMX for your application?

  • Here's a tough one: can Infotype data be loaded into a new implementation?

We have an R/3 system that is going to be replaced with Netweaver; not upgraded, but a new implementation, and that’s because there was too much customizing, and we're only using the HR module.
Can we load all of the infotype data from the old R/3 system into the new ECC system? Normally it is impossible to re-create all the history from a previous system in SAP, but for Infotypes, maybe? No?  Assuming that the infotype configurations are the same?
I see infotypes as fairly static tables that are only added to by changes, or by certain actions.  No changes could be made to these older infotype records, but at least BW could extract all of these and present in an ODS a continuous view of history.
Am I right? Is this possible to load up the infotype tables?
I know there will be problems with double infinity records, but I think we can handle that one.

  • BI version to install for new implementation

    Hello,
I am a technical consultant for a new implementation of BW with the requirement of SEM-BPS. We are considering installing NW2004s with BI Content 7.0. However since it is so new we are wondering about the stability. We are also not sure if we are losing any functionality with the latest version.
My question is should we install the latest BI version or go with BW 3.5 which the consultants are familiar with and has been out there for a long time.
Since BW 3.5 is part of Netweaver 2004, I believe it should be supported until at least 2010.
    Thank you, George Barta

    Hi:
There are already more than 35 customers live on BI in SAP NetWeaver 2004s, with more than 500 active projects.
You definitely should go with 2004s, as it can do everything 3.5 can do but so much more.  You can avoid an upgrade in the near term by simply starting with BI in SAP NetWeaver 2004s.
You are not losing functionality with the new version.  As stated before, there is a 3.5 system "under the covers".
However, note that BI Integrated planning is the new version of the planning application.  SEM-BPS will continue to be supported going forward, but SAP will not invest in developing it anymore.  Instead, all development resources flow into BI Integrated planning.
Both SEM-BPS and BI Integrated planning are available in BI in SAP NetWeaver 2004s, you can choose which one to utilize (and can have a mix of the two running in the same system).  Note that there are no automated migration tools between the 2. Would be good to take the SAP going forward plan into account when determining your strategy.
    Thanks for the points -

    Hi
If you will  see the phases of implementation in a SAp project like
    Project preparetion
    BBP(Business Blue print)
    Realisation(Base level configuartion,unit testing,iNtegration testing)
    Go live and support.
During BBP stage you have to study the existing process of the client and suggest how it will be mapped in SAP.And the process which can not be mapped in SAP will be treated as GAP and may be solved through out side software or through ABAP development.
Finalisining the Enterprise structure. The mapping of the org stru in legacy to SAP to be done here.Since for company thwo important statement are prepared at the yearend like B& S & p&l.These two statments can not prepared unless company code is mapped and assigned to other logistic structure.
Integration testing is another important milestone in an implementation. In  this stage you have to see that the FI  T code is not only working stand alone but it also works in an integrated scenario.
These are some of the scenario, where you have to contribute as a FICO consultant. Since the data flows from other modules of SAP to FI module ,  you should take care for that

  • Best way to implement application level persistant objects?

I'm designing a J2EE application and want to create some objects that represent lookup tables in the database. I would like these to be static objects that get created either at application startup or the first time they are called and remain in application scope globally for all users/sessions. These are objects that contain lists used for drop-downs/listboxes. I don't necessarilly want to take up unecessary memory
and take a performance hit for each session by creating them new for each session. The question is what is the recommended design for this scenario? Should these be implemented as static Stateless Session beans with an application scope? Are there any examples on the best way to do this in J2EE?
    Thanks.

You can simply (and properly) implement the Singleton pattern. Then multiple threads can all query the cached reference table values in the Singleton. Now, I know, that Singletons and J2EE are supposedly no-no's, but sometimes the easiest and simplest solution really is the best one. Perform the database query at startup in a static initializer. Then ensure that you do not have mutator methods (e.g., removeXXX(), setXXX(), addXXX(), etc.) Only provide accessor/getter methods. If you want to be able to refresh the cache without restarting the server, you will have to think about race conditions. But if you are implementing a vanilla cache, I would go with a Singleton.

  • Backing Up to disk in SQL Server 2005 - New Implementation

    Hi There,
My company are implementing SAP with SQL Server 2005.  I have the responsibility of creating the backup strategy.  We will not be using Tape Media to back up - all our backups are carried out to DISK (SAN).
Please can anyone state the recommended way to do this i.e. through the SAP DBA Calendar or through SQL Studio Manager.
My experience is with SQL and i have been trying for the last few weeks to implement a strategy through the SAP DBA calendar.  However i am finding it very difficult to administer this way because there are limited options on the DBA calender i.e to overwrite files, delete old files, date name files etc.  From what i have seen the DBA calendar would only be successful usind backup tape media.
Please can anyone recommend anything or give experience of how they have dealt with this situation before and weather you implemented through SAP DBA Calender or the Studio.
    Many Thanks

  • Using JSP, how to add new items to Fuego Business Object "Group" ?

Given the classic Fuego Business Object (FBO) example of an Order, which has a few attributes (orderNumber, customerName, Order Date) and a GROUP attribute called OrderItems (ItemName, ItemPrice, etc.), I want to use a JSP to allow user to submit order. My JSP has a form and uses the Fuego Tag Library. There are FORM INPUT elements for Order.orderNumber, Order.customerName, Order.OrderDate, and a table using dynamic HTML to add rows and INPUT elements for new items to add to the GROUP attribute OrderItems - ItemName, ItemPrice, etc.)
But when the user wants to add "OrderItems" to the order, I don't know how to get Fuego to create OrderItem Objects to add to the array (aka GROUP).
    Thx in advance.

    ###### below is the response I response I received from a BEA Engineer. From looking at the html source of fuego presentations that implement desired functionality, it appears as though they handle it using the first suggested workaround below ######
    Hi,
The short answer to your question is that there is no out of the box feature to support directly what you are asking for.
The problem is that JSPs receives a Fuego Object that is accessed at rendering time (JSP compilation/ HTML rendering). And then all the updated values are sent back to the engine in a new request when you hit the submit button of a FOR tag that has the postResult tag in the action attribute. At this point all these values are automatically taken from the request and the Fuego Object instance variable in the screenflow is updated.
After saying this you will notice that it doesn’t make sense to update the Fuego Object instance on the JSP. Because you only could do this ate rendering time and because this instance is not going back to the engine (just the values).
Fuego Object tag Library was designed basically to be able to show Fuego Object data and invoke runs-on-server FO methods.
I see 3 different approaches to solve the problem you have:
1)Use JavaScript to call a runs-on-server method that recive the required arguments to extend the group and set the values. You should use the new tag called invokeUrl that allows you to use AjaX, in this way you could update the page with partial rendering.
2)Use JavaScritp to submit the form when the user click the add row button. And have a loop in the Screenflow with an automatic activity that will extend the group and the go back to the component activity that now will show the page again but with one more row. The drawback is that each time the user wants to add a row, it will require the entire page to be refresh.
3)Handle the table and values using JavaScritp and DHTML, and put all the new values in the request (input element), then in the Screenflow use an automatic activity to set this values to the Fuego Object.
Look at the Samples of using Fuego Tag Lib and AJaX

  • Calling Java code inside JSP page and sending toString on object to Servlet

    Hi.
I am trying to setup a way to make testing my application easier. Using a web-based method will work best. Here is what I am trying to accomplish:
    - Have a web page that will prompt the user to enter data, fill in text fields, make choices, etc. When done, they press the Submit button. I don't need to keep info between sessions. Just open browser, execute, view results, close browser, repeat.
    - I then want to take this data and use some Java Classes I have to create a Java object.
    - I then want to send the toString() results of this Java object to a known Java servlet. The result of the servlet's actions should be displayed as a response on the screen.
This is what I currently have (Ignore the

    g.setGroupName(request.getParameter("group"));
String output = g.toString(); // I want this to go to the Servlet.
%>But, now I am stuck as to how to piece these together. I have some JSP experience, but not quite like this.
As I said, when the user presses the Submit button, I want to perform the Java code above, and have the results of the toString method sent to the Servlet, plus clear all other parameters (so they are not sent to the servlet).
Does anyone have any advice/comments? I am open to alternative designs too, this is just the simplest one I could think of. If another JSP page is needed, that's fine too.
    Thanks.
