New Iphone 4.  Creating new account or not?

I am getting an Iphone this week.  I have had an Itunes store account, that is shared with my kids, for several years.  If I start a new account on my laptop only, will I lose all my purchased music and apps?  The kids have access to all of the music and apps on the family computer.  PLEASE HELP!     My main concern is the imessaging feature and other things that share info accross all devices.

By setting up a new ID for iMessage and iCloud your messages will be private to you.  Remember that apps are always linked to the ID that was used to download them,  that is why you want to keep the old ID For iTunes and apps

    I really don't understand your use of the word "image" in this context. Especially your statement "there is already (an admin account) in the image". Can you clarify?

  • After creating new accounts Password not accepted

    On my daughter's G3 iMac (10.4.5) I have always had it set up with one user that was auto-logged in. Today I am trying to add 2 more users but the login window is rejecting the passwords. The set up for the users goes fine, but when the users try to log in their password is not accepted and the box shakes (nice touch btw).
    My admin login still works fine. I also tried setting up those new accounts with no passwords, but they still get shaken off. Anyone have any ideas?
    To make sure this wasn't user error on my part, I successfully set-up similar accounts on my iBook and they worked fine.

    sounds like a netinfo database issue to me. if you have applecare you could call to be sure. otherwise, you can rename your netinfo database (which has probably become corrupt) by booting to single user mode (apple+s on startup) and typing the following commands:
    mv /var/db/netinfo/local.nidb /var/db/netinfo/local.nidb.bad
    reboot
    once you do that, the setup assistant will launch on reboot and to be sure you don't lose any of your daughter's data, make her user name, shortname and password are the exact same as they are now. after you've logged back in as her user, go ahead and try to re-create the users again. it should work. if not, you may be looking at an archive or possibly erase and install.

  • I have a new IPAD and have been trying most of today to authorise it via iTunes. iTunes (creating a new account) is not working and Apple SUpport don't seem to have a clue. Any suggestions/help/solutions?

    During this cutoff, all visitors should still be able to read all posts, and existing members should be able to use the forum normally.
    After the new system is in use, all new Discussions members can simply sign in with their Nokia account username and password. When they sign in for the first time, we just ask them to add a Discussions alias.
    And if you already are a member here, you will just need to add your existing Discussions alias to your Nokia account when you sign in for the first time. This should be really easy.

    I will post detailed instructions for any combination of these two accounts once we have turned our registration back on and change to using the Nokia account login.

    I wrote all my posts from 2005-2011 as an "Admin" for this community. I still work for Nokia as an external consultant, so my rank in all posts is now "Employee".

    I am quite honestly confused as to what account to use with any of Nokia's websites.  I currently have 5.  1 for email.nokia.com, 1 for www.forum.nokia.com, 2 for discussions.europe.nokia.com (the older one would let me authenticate, but not let me log in, which is StHalcyon, if you care to take a look), 1 for ovi.com, and 1 for the disappeared nokiaforbusiness.nokiausa.com site.
    It's good to hear that there's some consolidation (is that correct) going on, but which ones are we consolidating?
    What happened to the US version of nokiaforbusiness site?
    Is there a way for you to look at my older account, which is StHalcyon?  If I use the wrong password, the popup login window will error out.  But if I use the correct password, it goes away and takes me back to discussions.europe.nokia.com, but then I'm still not logged in (with the Login / Register buttons still there).

  • Brand New iPod- Brand New Account- Could Not Sign In An Unknown Error Has Occurred

    Just got home with a brand new iPod touch from the Apple Store.  iOs 6.0.1
    Set up a brand new Apple ID and iCloud account. Verfied and confirmed the account via email on the iPod.  iPod has not been attached to a computer.
    I am attempting to download some free apps from the App Store and I get the following error:
    Could Not Sign In  An unknown error has occurred.
    I went into Settings/iTunes & App Store and attempted to enter my Apple ID and Password.  I get the same error:
    Could Not Sign In  An unknown error has occurred.
    I clicked on Forgot Apple ID or Password?  I then select Enter Your Apple ID.  I go through the Password Retrieval process in iForgot.  I select Answer Security Questions.  I verify my date of birth.  I correctly answer my Security Question.  I attempt to enter the same password I already have (in an attempt to eliminate the scenario where my password may have been mistyped).  I get the following message:
    The password specified has been used in the past year.  Please select another.
    Now I know that the password I have been entering in the App Store and in Settings is correct becasue I just set up the new account and have only had one password.
    I cancel out and close the Safari iForgot window. 
    I go back to the App Store and attempt to login using my correct Apple ID and an intentionally mistyped password.  I get the following message:
    Your Apple ID or password is incorrect.
    Now I know the Apple Store does indeed recognize my correct Apple ID/Password combo, otherwise I would get the same Unknown Error message.
    I have attempted to force quit all apps, reboot, re-try and reboot ad nauseum, but to no avail.
    So, someone at Apple, tell me, what the heck is going on? How do I proceed?

    I've just found the fix!!!!!! I downloaded itunes to my home PC and logged in using my newly created account, a message came up saying that i've not used this account yet with itunes and I need to confirm settings. It basically took me through my credit card information and personal details (strangely it wanted my title as a required field, yet on the ipad setup it didn't - maybe check this field is filled out in your account settings). Then it gave me a message saying I was ready to use the account. I logged into my ipad and all was good - literally did it 2 seconds after seeing the message on my PC. I hope this helps you also ;-)

  • ICal works in new account but not mine !!

    Read a load of advice here (thanks all) and have got as far as setting up a new account and opening iCal which worked great. When I go back to my own account iCal is frozen, won't open help, won't allow me to delete a calendar, has none of my entries, has nothing in the left hand panes etc.
    I am getting a bit bored with trying to find solutions in "MacWorld" that I was quite easily able to resolve in PC world. So, any advice on where I go with this iCal issue (rather than more generally!!!) would be very gratefully received. Thanks.

    What (apart from the new user account) have you tried? Are you running any apps in your account that would not have been running in the new account?
    Have you tried deleting com.apple.iCal.plist (and any others - com.apple.iCalanything.plist) from your Library/Preferences?
    If that doesn't help try moving your Library/Calendars folder to the Desktop.

  • New account number not online, can only see old account

    I moved and my old account was closed out and a new account # opened. When I login, I can only see the old account which ended months ago. If I try to register again, when I type the acct # and my zip code it says its aleady registered. I can't view bills or make payments on my new account #. I've done 2 live chats, emails, and 3 phone calls (last one ending in me getting put on hold and then dropped from the call). Incredibly frustrating! How am I supposed to pay my bill if I can't even see it?

  • Billing document created but accounting document not created

    Dear SAP Gurus,
    i have a problem during posting to the accounting document.
    the scenario is like this: i have created the sales order + delivery + TO (for warehouse movement) + confirmation of warehouse + PGI + BILLING. now the problem is i am not able to post to the accounting document. i have checked that it is taking the KOFI for a/c determination procedure. it does not have a net value 0 as PR00 is taking the price 100.
    status:
    sales order XXXX completed.
    delivery XXXXXXXX completed.
    Billing XXXXXXXX completed.
    i am getting the error as accounting document is not necessary for this billing document.
    please help me with this problem

    To resolve the error, you can analyze account determination in the billing document. Process:
    Goto T.Code: VF02 & Enter Invoice number
    Next (On the top most strip) goto Environment
    Next (Select Environment) go to Account determination
    Next (In Account Determination) select Revenue Account Determination (first option)
    This will list all the condition types in the Billing document & analyze each condition & check for which G/L accounts is not determined.
    Possible SD errors:
    1. VKOA not maintained for required combination
    Solution: Maintain the combination in VKOA.
    2. Account Assignment of Customer / material not maintained in Customer / Material Master (If maintained in combination in VKOA).
    Solution:
    Option 1 (Standard solution):
    step 1: Cancel Billing Document --> Reverse PGI --> cancel Delivery --> Cancel Sales Order
    step 2: Maintain Customer master / Material Master correctly.
    step 3: Recreate sales Order --> Delivery --> PGI --> Invoicing.
    Option 2:
    Force the Account Assignment Group of Customer / Material through Debug in change mode of Billing document, which will release Billing Document to Accounting.
    3. Account Key not maintained in Pricing Procedure:
    Impact: This may create accounting document, but if condition type, which are to be posted to account, but do not have account key maintained in pricing procedure, it will not be post the relevant condition type to G/L account.
    From FI Side, you require to check that all the G/L account has been maintained through T.Code: FS00. G/L account being Master data has to be created in each client ot uploaded through LSMW / SCATT / BDC.
    In Billing Document in change mode (in the first screen where we enter Billing Document number), on the top most left hand corner, take a dropdown on Billing Document & select Release to accounting. Here you can get the under mentioned possible message:
    1. G/L account not found
    2. Cost Element not maintained for G/L account.
    In both the above cases, FI consultant requires to take corrective action.

  • Email problem-cannot add new account,IMAP not responding

    My emails were working good on my ipad3, but all of sudden it stopped to receive emails, just kept loading. I have two accounts: gmail and yahoo. Neither of them are working. I deleted both account and tried to add back in. But I got the error message said "cannot connect with SSL, would you like to try without SSL?" I chose yes and it said " IMAP is not responding. Check your Internet connection and that you enterred the right information in the incoming mail server"
    I searched on the Internet and found out many people are having this problem, I tried all kinds of solutions including shutting down the iPad, verify gmail setting, Check outgoing mail server... But none of those worked for neither of the two email accounts, and I still cannot add any email account on my iPad.
    Can someone help me with this please? It's so frustrated :(

  • Iphone 5s pop email account will not delete emails

    I cannot get my new iPhone 5s to keep deleted emails out of my Inbox.  The e-mail account is a POP email account.  They keep coming back into the Inbox after I move them to the Trash.
    Please help!  This is very frustrating.

    If you have had unexpected charges on your Apple ID, you need to contact Apple. Your Apple ID has probably been hacked. Apple can reverse the charges.
    You will also, of course, need to change your Apple ID password, after logging in here:

    It would also be wise to change the password on any e-mail accounts associated with your Apple ID, as well as to enable two-factor authentication to make future hacks impossible without physical access to a device like your cell phone.

    Since the applications were purchased on the older account, you will need to log into that account to update them. The newer account will not recognize the purchases because they are not a part of the purchase history for the specific account.
