New KF in query based on rows values

Hi guys,
I hope you can help me with this requirement...
I already have a query that has cost element's hierarchy in rows and several restricted key figures in columns. Those KF are basically amounts filtered by cost centers (some nodes of CC hierarchy).
What i need...
I need a new column that gets for each node of cost element's hierarchy the value of a different KF. Let's simplify... For row 1 I need the KF1, for row 2 I need KF2, and for row 3 I need KF3 (not that simply in fact)
Stores--WHSupervision of Stores--
NEW KF
Net Sales--1002000--
100
Margin--15250--
25
Labor Costs--561440--
40
I think it should be based in an IF/THEN clause. Something like:
IF Cost element = net Sales -> NEW KF = 'Stores'
IF Cost element = Margin -> NEW KF = 'WH'
IF Cost element = Labor cost -> NEW KF = 'Supervision'
but I don't know how to achive this with BEX query designer.
The point is that this query is dynamic so values for my new column change while i expand or collapse the structure. In the other hand the different nodes in Cost element's hierarchy are known and fixed.
I tried to use replacement path in variables but I was unable to do it, probably because I'm newbie in BI and don't know if they are intended for issues like this.
Do you think I can achieve this? Can you give me any ideas?

Hi Ruben,
If Then Else statements can be entered in a formula.
For example if I wanted a formula to show me the result of KF "Sales Qty TY" to be displayed if it is greater than KF "Sales Qty LY", I would enter the following :
("Sales Qty TY" > "Sales Qty LY") * "Sales Qty TY" + (Not("Sales Qty TY > "Sales Qty LY")) * "Sales Qty LY
This basically says that if the key figure SQTY is greater than SQLY then SQTY else if it isn't show me SQLY
You can make multiple statements within the same formula but I think that can get quite messy.
Hope this helps you if you intend to use If Then Else statements for this issue.

U can use lexical parameter
i.e u create one user parameter and in query
u use this parameter with &param_name
ex.
select val,prize from stock where sr_no > :srno
orderby &ord_by
here ord_by is lexical parameter
and set its intial value to 'sr_no'
so u can get result order by sr_no
this parameter is set from form so u will give condition in form and depending
on condition u will pass this parameter from form.

Filter query based on a value from a drop down menu

I am using ADFBC/JDev 10.1.3/ADF-faces (JSPX)
I would like to display a table of data based on a view object and have a drop down menu of values that the user can select from which would filter the table of data. The filter would be applied to a field in the VO. For example, have a JSPX page that shows all employees and have a drop down menu that filters the employees by a specific department with an option to show all departments too in the drop down. I'm not sure if Steve Muench's example #76 (http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html) would serve as a basis for this requirement or not.
Can anybody give me high level guidance on how to do this? Both declaratively and programmatically would be great.

I can't get the JSPX page to display the correct data. It's displaying the entire VO and when you try to select Yes or No or All from the drop down menu, it just changes the Active Flag column in the table to whatever you select for the first row only and still displays the rest of the rows in the VO.

Show new page table record based on parameter value in first page in ADF

I have to show a selected record on a new page whose input query value is in first page. For example I choose to edit an order id by selecting order id and then pressing Edit Record button then in new page selected order record should show. I am working in ADF JSF pages. I can pass parameter from one page to another by pageFlowScope. but how to display selected record on next page.

any one to help. I want to use an input parameter on first page to edit the table on new page

New xterm does not set column/row values

Upon upgrading to SL I've found that when I start a new xterm within x11, the window size is not reflected by the stty variables rows and columns until I execute the "resize" command or manually resize the xterm window:
new xterm:
% stty -a
speed 38400 baud; 0 rows; 0 columns;
% resize
set noglob;
setenv COLUMNS '132';
setenv LINES '40';
unset noglob;
% stty -a
speed 38400 baud; 40 rows; 132 columns;
If I don't execute this extra step all my output in this window is squeezed into about 60 columns.
Has any one else seen this?

Yes, it seems that even under csh if I add the following to my .cshrc file:
resize >& /dev/null
it now works as expected. The annoying feature of course is I have to add this command to the .cshrc files of all my remote hosts I might connect to via xterm/ssh. Perhaps my real question is what has changed with SL that leads to this unexpected result (and of course how one can fix it once and for all on my local host)..

Bex query that returns variable number of columns based upon variable value

I have a request to create a query that, at excution time, has a variable for 'nbr of months', and based on the value entered by the user, returns data for only the specified number of months. Value that can be entered can vary from 1 to 12. A simple example is, if the user enters 1, then they would only want to see one column, and if they entered 6, then they'd like to see 6 columns in the workbook. All suggestions on how to implement this dynamic columns on a workbook will be appreciated.

Do this->
1) first create a New Structure in Rows-> Place your New Selection and drag your KF.
2) Nw Create a New Formual under this structure. Now Create a Formula variable ( "ZFVXXX")with user-entry and ready for input and dimension as NUmber. and place in formula area. And hide this formula.
3)Now Create a New Customer-Exit variable on 0CALMONTH name as "ZCECMON" with following atrribute->Mandatory, Range(Interval) and remove check for Ready for entry.
4)Drag your 0CALMONTH in Rows above That Structure and restrict it to "ZCECMON".
5) Now go to CMOD and write this code.

BEx query based on virtual cube donu00B4t display a valid List of Value (LOV)

I have a problem with an invalid LOV. The scenario is the following; There´s a BEx query based on a virtual cube. The query has an exit variable on caracteristic that is based on 0CALMONTH.
At Universe Designer I simply create a connection, a universe based on this query and export.
At Web Intelligence (also at Live Office), when I try to execute de query, the prompt to fill my exit variable display a list of value that doesn´t match with the values of the caracteristic at the cube.
Actually, the list at the prompt starts with 01.0000 and finishes with 05.0968.
In Universe Designer, the option to edit the list of values is not available. But I think that editing the LOV is not the correct way.
I´ve tried creating a new query based on the DSO that is the source of the virtual cube. In this case, I had a valid list. Unfortunately, I can´t use this DSO.
Did anyone already have this problem?

The field in the table is varchar2(120). I coudn't found options for the List of value.

1.file table contains the coulmns------->date,file_count,record_count,cldm_stg,cmsa_stg,archive_stg
2.rejection table columns---------> are same as above
both have same common columns.my requirement is publish a dashboard like:
date | land_files count |alnd_recordscount| target_files count|target_records count|Rejection filecount|rejection record count
These report ineed retrive from those two tables.based on flag values.taget countcomes when all stg values set to ='y'
i.e(cldm_stg='y' and cmsa_stg='y'and archive_stg='y') if not then it will be in rejection file.
Please give solution how to achive my output.

Making a jtable row noneditable based on a value in a certain cell.

I have a jTable (based on a database table) and one of the columns is OWNER. Is there a way to make an entire row noneditable based on the value in the OWNER column of the currently selected row?
Here is the listener code that I have on the jTable. I want to be able to make the entire row noneditable if the value (of the currently selected row) of the OWNER column is "SYSTEM". If it is anything other than "SYSTEM" then the user would be able to change the values on the row.
I can't override the isCellEditable method, because I only want the rows with the value of "SYSTEM" in the OWNER column to be noneditable.

Color report rows based on a value in that row

I would like to Color report rows based on a value in that row.
For examplle with the "EMP" table:
I would like job=MANAGER to be red and job=CLERK to be green etc etc
The other example I found only had the option of one color either the highlight or the default color.
I am looking for a way to do multiple colors.

In the row template, you can use #1#, #2#, etc to indicate where a field in the report needs to be output. This does not have to be plain text - ie, you can use it within style tags if you like.
So, take a query like:
SELECT EMPNO,
ENAME,
DEPTNO,
DECODE(DEPTNO, 10, 'green', 20, 'red', 30, 'cyan', 'white') BG_COLOUR
FROM EMPYou get columns 1=empno, 2=ename, 3=deptno and 4=bg_colour. In the row template, you can then do:
Before Rows setting (sets up the table):
<table>
<tr><td>ID</td><td>Name</td><td>Dept</td></tr>After Rows setting (closes the table):
</table>Row Template 1 (used for ALL rows):
<tr style="background-color:#4#;"><td>#1#</td><td>#2#</td><td>#3#</td></tr>Then, for every row, the colour that has been calculated using the DECODE function will be used in the style tag to colour the background for the entire row.
How you determine the colours is up to you. I've used DECODE here, but you could use a field on the DEPT table to hold this and use this in your SQL statement.

Change Column Header / Column Background color based on a value in a specific row in the same column

SSRS 2012
Dataset (40 columns) including the first 3 rows for Report layout configuration (eg: the <second> row specifies the column background color).
Starting from the 4th row, the dataset contains data to be displayed.
I would like to change the background color of the ColumnHeader/Column based on the value in the same column in the <second> row.
How can I accomplish the this requirement? (this must be applied for all the columns)

Per my understanding that you want to specify the background color of all the columns/column header based on the value in one special column of the special row, right?
I have tested on my local environment and you can add expression to condition show the background color in the columns properties or the column header properties.
Details information below for your reference:
Specify the background color in the Column header: you can select the entire column header row and in the properties add expression in the Background color :
If you want to specify the background color for the entire column, you can select the entire column and add the expression, repeat to add background color for other columns.
If you want to specify the background color based on the value in the specific columns and row, you can create an hidden parameter to get the list of values from the specific column, specify the Available values and default values by select "Get
values from a query", finally using the expression as below to get the specific value you want:
Expression(Backgroud Color):
=IIF(Parameters!Para.Value(1)="1221","red","yellow")

CAML Query to get specific item in folder based on dropdown value using Javascript client object model

I am using the Javascript Client object model.
I have a custom list and a custom document library.
Custom list contains 2 columns - dlName , dlValue
The document library contains 2 folders - "folder1" , "folder2" and contains some images.
The image name starts with the "dlValue" available in the custom list
I am using a visual webpart and using javascript client object model.
I am trying to achieve the below functionality:
1) Load a dropdown with the custom list.
2) set the image based on the value in dropdown.
I have achieved the first option, I have set the dropdown, but not sure how to query the folder and set the image.
Below is the code i have used so far:

i've a really simple question: is there a way inside a pop up in a report, to refer to other columns value (of the same row)?
I'm giving my example:
i've a table called CNT_VAL_SEG_DEMO
id
des
value
value have to be a pop up LOV, query based:
the pseudo sql code is this:
SELECT DISTINCT VALUE V1 , VALUE V2 FROM CNT_VAL_SEG_DEMO WHERE
des=<pseudo code>#DES#<pseudo code>.
What should i use instead of #DES#
