i have a scenario where i need to seperate two records with 2 lines
example

<record2> name11 name22 name 33
where each records seperated by 2 lines
i have tried using a endSeparator with 'nl' two times but it was no help
kindly helkp me on this

In my opinion using the regular FCC method I guess it will be not possible to create a new line in the middle of flat file. You can take the help of java mapping as described in bleow mentioned blogs to convert it into flat file. I am not sure but you can try with these options...

Splitting to new line in file content conversion in File Receiver adapter

Hi,
I have a requirement where I have to split the Header and Line item in separate lines. If the Target structure as follows:
RecordSet>Record>Header-->LineItem.
If I do Header and LineItem at the same level, I do not have a problem. If I do that I could not able to map from Idoc correctly. Therefore, I have to do LinteItem tag within Header.
Please thru some Ideas , how we can this.

Remove blank line after File Content Conversion

I have a File>Conversion on PI7.0 (SP10).
It seems to add a blank line. The XML is:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <ns0:EPIWCountFile xmlns:ns0="urn:com.somewhere.overthere.nothere">
<Personal_Area>LU</Personal_Area>

<recordCount>17</recordCount>
</detail>

The conversion is done:
recordset Structure=detail,
name=detail.fieldseparator ,
The output file is
17
Hopefully you can see the blank line before the number!???
I have changed the contexts while processing, and played with other options, but it always adds a blank line at the begin.
All this file is a count of the number of records processed. (The personal_area is for a variable name for file/folder creation)
How can I remove the blank line, as the target system fails due to this anomaly?

Hi.
Try this.
First you need to use a message mapping and create a target structure to convert a similar output structure that do you want. like this
<Target>
-- Field1
-- Field2
-- Field3
-- Field4
-- Field5
-- Field6
-- Field7
-- Field8
-- Field9
</Target>.
Then map
keyfield1-> Field 1 ,keyfield2-> Field 2 , keyfield 3---> Field 3
map field1-> field4 .. for the others fields duplicate the Target node (right click) and map map field2-> field5 ..etc.
For the field 5 until field 9 map with constant ("'')
Then in you receiver comunication channel put simple parameters.
Target.fieldSeparator = |
Target.endSeparator = 'nl'

File Content Conversion for ignoring the entire line

   I'm getting a CSV file from that i want to skip some records based on some validation.. for example:
I'm getting the following data :
EmpNo                   EmpName                   EmpDept
E101                       ABC                               ABAP
E102                       XYZ                                BW
E103                       GFC                               XI
E104                       BVM                               ABAP
E105                       ASD                               BW
E106                       YFC                                XI
SO, here where ever i'm getting EmpDept = XI .. i want to skip those all the records( that entire line i want to skip).. .. this can be possible through Message Mapping.. but i wnat to do this in the File Content Conversion.. how can we do this..
any helpful answers   will appriciated..

Hi,
FCC is used to generate the XML structure so that XI can understood properly. You can not do any kind of validations or Skip the records based on Element value condition in FCC.
There are scenarios where you want to skip the lines that time you can use the below option in FCC but this is again not based on condition.
Under Document Offset, specify the number of lines that are to be ignored at the beginning of the document.
This enables you to skip comment lines or column names during processing. If you do not make an entry, the default value is zero lines.
The best way to do is use the UDF:
Write an UDF on target root node.
take input in one context:
input a= Emp Dept:
for(i=o,i<a.length;i++)
if(a{i}.equals("X"))
   result.addValue(SUPPRESS); this will supress the target root node if condition is equal to X
else
result.addValue("Constant"); this will generate the target root node.

Receiver file Content Conversion with Header line

Hi,
Here I am doing receiver file content conversion with header line.
I am able to get the output file correct, when I open the file in notepad the header line and data appearing in the same line (not accepted).
But when I tried to open the name file in internet explorer I can see the header line and data in two different lines (accepted).
What should I do I want to see the same output in the notepad?
Please help me out.

You can use NameA.addHeaderLine.
Specify whether the text file will have a header line with column names. The following values are permitted:
0 u2013 No header line
1 u2013 Header line with column names from the XML document
2 u2013 As for 1, followed by a blank line
3 u2013 Header line is stored as NameA.headerLine in the configuration and is applied
4 u2013 As for 3, followed by a blank line

File content conversion:move files to a new directory

hi all,
I have a file content conversion sender and receiver scenario.Now my doubt is: XI is running on sap27 server.Input file is being created by an ABAP program in r/3 and file being put in sap29 server.
In source directory if i am giving the sap29 path it is not working.Is there any way that i can write a OS command to move files from 29 to 27 before message processing ??
Any other option available??

Yes the basis people have shared the folder and they have mapped the sap29 folder into sap27 using I:\ drive
But the files are not getting picked....am i giving the source directory wrong??

Ram,
The problem which i can see is your key field values in your test file. Remember you should have the key field value in each new line at the same place.
For example you have given your text file as shown below...
File Given By You is :
>H1hh1hhhhhhhhh2
>*Ddd *
>Xddd1dddd2dddd3
>Xddd4dddd5dddd6
>Xddd7dddd8dddd9
>*Sss *

Compair the above file with the below one..
>H1hh1hhhhhhhhh2

If you notice, for details I have given key field value 3 in each line & at same place.
One more thing just use the KeyFieldName only one ( just follow the same blog which I have given, to understand how to use the KeyFieldName )

Need Help in Sender File Content Conversion

Hi All,
I request your expert advice on Sender File content Conversion. I need to process the below pasted file. I was able to achieve this by keeping a offset of 6 in Sender PI File Adapter (PI 7.1) to ignore first 6 lines and used a Unix script to remove last line"END OF REPORT".
Now my new requirement is I need to capture the date "DECEMBER 2009" from line 3. How can I do this. I have set offset as 6 so Adapter will start processing from line 7. If I don't set offset Interface fails. Please suggest. Thank you.

File content conversion - Receiver config

I am transferring data from an Idoc to a target structure ( flat file ) using file content conversion . But the problem is regarding the sequential order of writing the data .

It is giving me configuration error .
Should subnodes or child be mentioned in the record set structure or not. if not how will i clearly wite it to the next line as a child for every time it writes a parent unbounded times .
So can anyone tell me if the problem is with mapping or parent child relation or how do i map to get it in the sequence . Your replies can be really helpful

This is not even so deeply nested . Its just one parent and child that it has to write in the flat file with unbounded times . The output xml is generated perfectly but giving the configuration error . in passing the values . Want to know how to write the child segments in the configuration profile in the content conversion parameters .

File Content Conversion doesn't pull file

Hi all,
I have a Comm Channel using File Content Conversion - it does not pick up the file (no message in msg monitor). If I copy the Comm Channel, turn off File Content Conversion, and change the Sender Agreement to use the copied Comm Channel, the file is picked up and a message appears in the message monitor.
Any ideas? Does File Content Conversion expect certain file names/types/etc...?
Also, side question - when I change the sender agreement (or anything else in the CD), SXI_CACHE shows "Unable to refresh cache contents" with various errors, one of them being "LCR_GET_OWN_BUSINESS_SYSTEM - NO_BUSINESS_SYSTEM"; another said something about IF_HTTP_.. HTTP Communication error or something.
I'll do more searching on this on and post a new topic if necessary...

'nl' Not Working for fieldSeparator in File Content Conversion

I have a receiver communication channel where I want to create a file with each field being a new line. The xml (Message Protocol: File) output looks like this:

When I turn on Message Protocol of File Content Conversion, and follow the SAP documentation on the parameters, the 'nl' is getting sent literally.

- I have content conversion parameters of:
cp.fieldSeparator 'nl'
cp.fieldNames myrequest,myheader
cp.addHeaderLine 0
My file output looks like this:
AAFADFASFADFADSFDASFADFAAA'nl'DELADV0001
Note that the 'nl' is not processing as a new line. Ideas?

cp.fieldNames myrequest,myheader
so why don't u remove this and try once again...

Key field values for file content conversion at sender communicationchannel

I am working on scenario File to Idoc.In this scenario at the sender side we configure the file content conversion for .CSV file.
In the flat file i am having more than one orders, XI will pick the file and creates a separate Idoc for each sales order at r/3.
We have similar fields "Order Item Number" both header and item.
If we got '00000' on the Header item then it should create a new idoc at the r/3 side other wise it will create line item.
Order item number will be 00000 for header but it will differ from order item to item.

Order date

I don't have standard filed values to give the key fileds at source structure.
I need to create the Idoc at r/3 system for each individual record.

If it is possible then how can i proceed with fcc?

Just check the Content Conversion Parameters- Recordset Structure.
If you have filled in this parameter with
Header,1,Item,1
then change it to
Header,1,Item,3
