New Mac user. On a website the "Browse" button/link to upload pics and files is not showing, but shows up when I check from another computer. Why is it not showing on my MacBook Pro?

I just got my new MacBook Pro over the weekend, and was sooo excited. I wanted it to take back and forh to work with me. However on a website I use for work, I need to be able to upload files and pictures. but the area where the link/button "Browse" is normally at to add the pics or files, it is not showing up on my Mac. I thought maybe the site was messed up, but when I helped another coworker, I noticed on her screen (an HP computer) the link/button to browse files and upload is there. I came back to my MacBook Pro thinking maybe the website was working correctly again, but its still not showing up on mine. So I'm thinking its Mac related. MAybe theres a certain function I need to turn on for this?
I tried to unblock pop ups, even though its not a pop up screen, but this didn't do anything. HELP!!!!!

If the modem is also a router, either use the modem in bridge and run pppoe client on the TC.. that is assuming ADSL or similar eg vdsl. If it is cable service.. and the modem is a router, then bridge the TC.. go to internet page and select connect by ethernet and below that set connection sharing to bridge.
Please tell us more about the modem if the above gives you issues.

What do you mean the PC won't let you transfer the music? Save your entire iTunes folder (this is assuming that you have all your music stored in your iTunes folder) to an external hard drive. Connect that hard drive to your Mac. Copy the iTunes folder to your computer. Hold down the option key while launching iTunes on your Mac. Select the library you just copied when it ask you to select which library you want to open.

Facebook and Hotmail will not work on my Macbook pro

Facebook and Hotmail will not work on my Macbook pro. I have tried safari and firefox. I have unloaded and reloaded an old version of firefox and still no luck. When go to ebay it opens but looks very weird. I am using Mac OS X Version 10.6.6 with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I am so frustrated, I have tried everything I can think of and still no luck.

Good of you to offer the detail you did (a lot of people don't bother) but it still is not quite enough. Texting that it "looks very weird" just leaves me blank. Most basic remedy for browser issues is to use Safari to google "adobe flash" and download a fresh file & install. Can't think of anything else given what you've posted....

Want to buy MacBook Pro 13" (new Mac-user). Worried about the Core 2 Duo

I'm really eager to buy a MacBook Pro 13" right now, but core 2 duo feels pretty outdated, I remember my computer from 2006 having that CPU.
My greatest worry is that the computer will feel out-dated pretty fast, like for how many years will it be able to survive OS-updates? I really want to buy one now, but I don't know if i should wait. Do any of you mac-users feel it to be sluggish in any way?

i don't have a lot of experience with this as we just made the switch about a month ago. it's mostly my wife's macbook pro and i wanted her to get a toshiba with i5 processor but she wanted to get the mac. i found this on cnet, which made me feel better about the core2. remember it is running apple stuff which isn't a drain on it like microsoft stuff:

WD 1TB not recognised on 13" macbook pro retina (late 2013) even though it is exFAT file structure. The same drive is recognised on iMac and an old Dell laptop. I also have a seagate 2TB external hard drive (powered) that is recognised by my macbook pro.

I just bought a late 2013 macbook pro retina 13" a few days ago. I am trying to transfer all my music from my old Dell laptop. I formatted by 1TB Western Digital MyPassport to exFAT to allow read and write on both operating systems. The 1TB WD My Passport is recognised by both my Dell and iMac but not my new macbook pro retina 13 (late 2013). My 1TB WD My Passport is USB 3.0 with USB 2.0 backward compatability. I also just bought a 2TB Seagate Desktop Backup Plus (which is powered) for backing up and extra file storage, THIS WORKS! I don't understand how this works on my macbook pro but my 1TB western digital my passport doesn't. PLEASE HELP!! I have done full formats as well (not quick ones) which take nearly 8 hours. PLEASE HELP

Is there a pattern to the time of day or other detail that may be
traced back to a OS X system cause of this odd phenomenon?
Are there any copies of system files on any of the attached USB
external drives? Any libraries, such as iTunes, iPhoto, etc?
Once the drives are indexed by Spotlight, are their permissions
ignored by the OS X? Content, if neutral, should not affect the
wake or sleep cycle; especially if they're ignored by the OS X.
Could there be a bad cable or other component? If so that would
be a difficult process of elimination to detect it. Usually replacing
most suspect components in the USB stream (external to Macs)
is a rote way to mechanically test that idea; & not 100% sure.
Does the equipment all have a good ground to the utility or house
electrical field? An intermittent ground may affect more than sleep.
Hard to say at this point. Maybe a late-night talk radio guru on
remote viewing could peer into your situation and sleuth it out?
Sorry to have run out of ideas, but the process must be electrical
& mechanical to some extent. - Or perhaps odd software inspired.
Do you have any phone-home spyware items inside, just jumping
at the chance to spill your information? Little Snitch may help.
PS: Perhaps the computer needs to go into Apple & have a genius
or product specialist at AASP test the unit thoroughly... BlueTooth?

I am unable to delete photos contained in the 'photo library' of an Ipod 6.1.5 and it is not 'seen' by my macbook pro.

Open itunes, connect ipod, select what you want on the iphone, sync.

Is your computer still authorized in the Store menu in iTunes?

When I changed to my new MacBookPro I had to authorize it although I used TimeMachine to transfer my settings and data.
Did you try to deselect Wi-Fi syncing and enable it again after that?

Did you already transfer your purchases and manually started a backup?

Webcam and keyboard light not working on my macbook pro

I just reinstalled snow leopard on my macbook pro and I can seem to get my webcam to work, the light on the keyboards are not coming on either, has anyone encountered something like this before

Don't know about the webcam, but a SMC reset may help the keyboard backlight:

If you installed Snow Leopard and then updated it, then it might not hurt to open Disk Utility and repair permissions if you haven't already done so. Be sure all your software is up to date.

sync was working until about a week ago with all of my devices (Ipod/iphone)
Sync is now greyed out, and it says the sync will resume when the macbook pro is available.

No fan and disc drive not working...MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro that is a little over a year old. Recently I noticed that my fan never runs and the disc drive isn't working. Is there something I can do or do I need to take it somewhere to have it looked at? Thank you.

It is the CD Drive. Sorry, I am not tech smart. When I try to insert a disc (CD, DVD), no matter how many times I try, it will not take it. It has worked fine in the past. I started doing research in forums, etc, and kept being led to fan issues. So I started paying attention. My laptop makes no noise at all, not on start up, not after I've had it on for hours, never. I'm assuming that means the fan isn't working. Although....you know what they say about assumptions. I kept thinking maybe I just undocked something but I'm not having any luck figuring out what's wrong.

I did the free upgrade of os x yosemite and was wondering if any of possibly deleting or uninstall it from my computer

i currently did the free upgrade that was on the apple store for os x yosemite, and it has yet to stop with the issues. Starting with me logging into my computer it takes atleast a good minute or 2 to log in. I have issues with bluetooth connectivity, internet is slow.. Not normal for a macbook. If there is any way i could just go back to whatever i had before.

I crashed my system and cannot boot from disk or anyting else. I'm not illiterate with computers, but this is a thing I'm stumped on.

The green bubble is for standard text messages used from one phone number to another, whether it is an iPhone or not.
The blue bubble is for iMessages, which can be sent between any two iOS devices.
Your iPad, even if it has cellular service, is not a phone. Therefore, it can only send iMessages, unless you use a third-party messaging app.

New mac user need to change the main account name

Hi....I bought a used imac to try before switching to mac.....I liked it and ordered a new imac....when first booting, it gave me the option to migrate from my old imac via firewire, which I did....
The new imac now has the previous owner's name as the primary user which shows up as the little house symbol under the places column in finder.....I've previously set up my own name as another user but I can't seem to find a way to get rid of his name and get mine in there....
I like the macs but sorely miss my right-click button BTW.....

Choose Log Out from the Apple menu, log in with your account, and then use the Accounts pane of System Preferences to change the automatic login setting, and if desired, delete the migrated account.

Why is my camera and ipod touch not connecting to my macbook pro?

My computer is not recognizing my camera and ipod are connected by the usb cable. But when I connect a usb memory stick it does come up on the desktop. Originally when I bought the computer in May 2011 the ipod touch did work. I am wondering if I accidentally touched something to make it not work and how I can fix it to make it work again.

Please detail all you have done to resolve your issue. Need this information so that the users can avoid the "been there, done that" scenario type responses. This is to avoid repeating the troubleshooting you may have already tried. Thank you.
