New message regarding changing email settings

We lost the message about changing the new email settings. can some one tell us what it was?

For the sake of example, we are going to pretend that we are setting up fictional account "[email protected]" and the password for logging into that account in webmail is "fakepassword" - Again, this is a fictitious account for the sake of an example.
The settings for using Verizon's servers would be:
Incoming Server: pop.verizon.net
Server Requires Authentication: Yes
Username: fakeacct
Password: fakepassword
Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): Yes
Port: 995
Outgoing Server: smtp.verizon.net
Server Requires Authentication: Yes (You can set it to use the same settings as incoming, or manually enter the username and password.)
Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): Yes
Port: 465
If you are given the option anywhere for Secure Password Authentication (SPA), set it to No or Normal
These settings should work unless you have a Verizon/Yahoo account, in which case the server names are: incoming.yahoo.verizon.net -and- outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net
If all of that is set up and it's still not working, your best bet is to provide a screenshot of your settings (with personal information blocked/removed) and any errors you are getting.

  • Email send/receive suddenly doesn't work ; can't change email settings as BB phone won't accept valid username and password -- what to do?

email send/receive suddenly doesn't work (as of September 24th); I can't change email settings (one suggestion from tech) as BB phone won't accept *valid* username and password -- what to do?
I understand from a support note that if I keep trying my password/username combination, my BB will eventually delete all data!
I can't understand this. I'm completely lost now. I can't remember what I've done or tried to do. A plethora of usernames and passwords is swimming in my head.
Thanks for any hints. I have always loved this BB Bold and have never had any trouble with it.

But the real question is why for the past year did the passwords work and then all of the sudden after this anomaly the disk password doesn't work?  I'm not 100% sure of what my configuration was, but I know that most of the time it required one password -- supervisor, and occasionally it asked for 2 -- disk password as well I believe.  This may have been related to the Password on Restart setting I think -- asking for the disk password on cold vs. warm boot.  But I know both were exactly the same.  But after this incident only the Supervisor password worked.

Yes, the message is legitimate, and yes, you must eventually change server settings as described.  You may find this onerous, and you're not the first person to face this issue, but eventually it must be done.
This topic has really been beaten to death in the forums.  I'd say your best bet is to type "thunderbird" into the "Ask the Community" search box at the top of the page and start reading.  There's a vast amount of detail there.
My impression is that just about everyone eventually gets the settings right, after which the system works as desired.  Still it may take some doing.  Good luck.

  • New message opens behind email window

We are using Windows 7 and Outlook 2010. When opening a new message or replying, the new window opens behind the email and is unseen. Is there a way to make the new window open on top (always)?

    Hi,
To resolve this issue, modify the value of the ForegroundLockTimeout registry entry in Registry Editor. To do this, follow these steps:

    3.
In the right pane, locate and then double-click
    ForegroundLockTimeout .
    4.
    Under Base , click
Decimal , type 0 in the Value data
box, and then click OK .
Note The default decimal value for the ForegroundLockTimeout registry entry is set as

  • Change email settings in quickbooks

How do I change the email settings in quickbooks?

go log in under your apple id under apple support and
    there change the contact email:-)
    Dear Steve Djokes,
Thanks not only for replying, but for asking that question about micing vocals!
Anyway, I have already changed my email address in my Apple ID account, but still, for the discussion group, it shows my old I.D. I'm not that familiar with Apple's site, and I'm not finding my way around very well. I'm just a drummer, still learning to become computer savy. But just for giggles, I went to the support page, and I believe I read every letter, but never found where I could log in.
Thanks again for that "vocals" post. Good things came out of that for me.

  • Has Verizon changed email settings for the iPhone?

    Hi-
have an iPhone with iOS6 installed.  Haven't changed a thing for quite a while, but it stopped receiving Verizon/Yahoo emails yesterday (using the built-in Mail app).  Did Verizon change something on the email settings?  My emails are coming into my home computer so my password is correct and active.
    thanks

I've been wracking my brain over this for a few days and I finally found the solution. Before it was enough to just use your username to access your email account, but since Yahoo's outage you apparently need to add "@verizon.net" to the end of your username for it to work. I was going crazy because I quadruple checked my port and SSL settings on my phone like all the other forum posts suggest. All my settings lined up with what they should ave been but still wouldn't work. On a whim, a final desperate try before I deleted the account from my phone, I added the "@verizon.net" after my username, and the !#@%# thing worked! Give it a try. It certainly won't make it work any LESS.

  • Iphone will not show new message alert for email sent to subfolders

I have successfully synced my iphone with the exchange server so I am getting push email from entourage to my phone. However I have subfolders set up in entourage so that my email is organised. These subfolders are showing on my iphone. Although email sent to subfolders is pushed to the iphone (to the relevant subfolders), when the phone is on the home screen it does not show a new mail alert for those emails. It only shows a new mail alert for emails going to the main inbox. Obviously I need it to alert me if email is coming in to subfolders. Can anyone help with setting this up?

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • Trouble creating a new account to change email

My company has changed the domain part of the email addresses. My OTN account reflects the old email.
I need to change this email address, however, when I try to create a new OTN account as instructed, it tells me that I have duplicate fields, and that the user name is already in use... if I have questions to contact OTN.
My old email is [email protected]
My new email is [email protected]
I don't understand why we can't update our email addresses. Every other online service I belong to allows this.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

We have sent the username/password info to the emersonprocess.com address. Please try deleting your cookies and logging in again with that info.
    Regards,

  • New JDev and change email address?

    Hi
When the new JDeveloper will be available for download? Also, one more question. I registered on OTN but my e-mail address is not available anymore. I have new e-mail and I want to change only e-mail and keep other settings in my profile without creating new OTN user profile.
    Thanks.

To get notified when the new JDeveloper is out you can use the JDeveloper RSS feed:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/temp/whatisrss.html
I think you can't change your email address for an existing OTN user, so you'll need to create a new OTN user.

  • TS1702 App store keeps telling me my iPad settings have to be set to enable cookies to download apps.  The setting is done, but why do I keep getting the same message to change the settings?

I'm just setting up my new iPad.  I tried to download an app for the first time but kept getting a notice that said cookies have to be enabled.  I have followed the directions on enabling cookies, but I keep getting the same message when I try to download the app.

Is this how you do it?

Now getting FaceTime failed message when trying to connect with a person that were connecting successfully with up unto two weeks ago, has something changed?

Take a look around you here in this forum. Many people are talking about having problems using FaceTime. A few users claim to have contacted Apple and Apple says that they are aware of an issue with FaceTime and that they are working on it.
Some users claim that upgrading to iOS 7 solved there problem with FaceTime. Take a look around the forum and read some of the other discussions.

  • CHANGE EMAIL SETTINGS NOTICE

Fix current link in"action required now" notice; verizon.com/assist is NOT a "guided setup".

It would appear that these emails are actually phishing scams.  See "New Phishing Scam Targets Verizon Online Customers" under Support / Announcements in your My Verizon.

  • New incoming & outgoing email settings won't play nice with Spamihilator.

Spam filter Spamihilator automatically changes the new Verizon incoming & outgoing email settings in my email client Thunderbird. Thunderbird and Spamihilator render each other useless with these new settings in effect. I had to disable Spamihilator and manually change ALL the incoming and outgoing settings to get my email back up and running with the new settings. So everyone, check your spam filter. It could be the cause of the problem.

  • Message goes to email instead of message

My wife and I each have an ipod touch and use Messages frequently. I recently got a new iphone 5s (yay!) and when I send her a message via Messages, it now goes to her email as a txt attachmnet rather than to her Messages app. If she sends me a message from Messages, I receive it in Messages and can reply, but when I initiate the message, it goes to her email, which is annoying. She has not changed any of her settings. I am hoping it is some setting on my end.
    Any advice?
    Thanks.

It is not how I want to receive the messages, but how my wife receives the messages, and up until now from my ipod touch, she receved the messages fine. Only messages from my iphone go to her email - does she have to adjust how she receives messages from my phone, even though I have my iphone set to start new messages from my email?
    Seems weird.

  • New Message Center - Add Phone Account

I switched to the new Message Center for email (no other choice today) and would like to be able to see my Phone and VoiceMail accounts.  The Message Center only shows entries for Email.  The only settings available are for email.  What procedure is required to add Phone and Voicemail accounts to the Message Center?

We have to get the accounts merged. I have sent you a private message on this
