blaise thanks for the warning
mike prev drivers have autoinstalled using run in the download options do you know why this is no longer?
No probelm there mate, people who did manage to install them found that Windows would blue screen on boot until they rolled back to the previous version via Safe mode. Although I don't use my Ethernet ports ATM (currently using a prepaid USB wireless stick - long story), I tried to install the drivers a while ago and found they wouldn't update the system no matter how I tried..

Hello. I lost my utilities DVD. I know how to get chipset drivers from your website, but when I download the Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Drivers I get 7 files; 2 DDLs, a .sys .inf .cat and a .txt file, none of which is installable. Am I downloading something wrong? It's for Win 7 64 bit.

You have to install the drivers manually via device manager.  Click on the device that needs a driver and point Windows to the directory that holds the files you extracted from the driver archive you downloaded.  In case you do not know how to do that, please use google.  There are probably a couple of thousand short-guides out there that will tell you how to do that.  This is just one example:

  • Has anyone else had problems with nForce ethernet drivers 3.13 and abo

Hi, I installed the previous version of the nForce unified drivers (2.03) and I have had problems with the latest version of the unified drivers also (2.41). These both have ethernet drivers "3.13 (WHQL) + TOT .NVU"
They seem to be the ethernet drivers fault. If I install one of the latest versions of the unified drivers, windows does not boot up, it just hangs at windows logo. ?(
If I remove the ethernet cards drivers using safe Mode, the system will boot up fine. I also have to re-install older versions of the ethernet drivers to get the system to boot.
I am using the K7N2 motherboard with onboard ethernet.
Any reasons/fixes would be great , cheers  :]

  • WRT 120N Wireless -N Home Router/PRO200WL PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter

PRO200WL PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter in my 10-year old Dell Dimension 8200 running XP is not recognized as a wired/compatible adapter by WRT120N. Installed router using a newer laptop but when I connect the PC it causes a nv4_disp file to go into an endless loop and shut the computer down. What to do?

The driver of the ethernet adapter of the PC might already be outdated judging from the age of the computer. I suggest you have the drivers updated.

  • How can I create a new TC backup with ethernet, so I don't have to wait two days for a new wireless backup?

How can I create a new TC backup with ethernet, so I don't have to wait two days for a new wireless backup?
Several times in the last year, I've gotten a message that Time Machine needs to completely redo my backup. Using the wireless connection, this takes almost two days. Is there a way to do the backup with ethernet and then switch back to wireless? Thanks.

May I know what is needed to make sure the MacBook is able to see Time Capsule on ethernet?
Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the 2Wire gateway to the WAN port (circle of dots icon) on the Time Capsule.
If AirPort Utility cannot "see" the Time Capsule now, you will need to perform a "hard reset" by holding in the reset button for 7-8 seconds or so and then reconfigure the Time Capsule. You can use the same Time Capsule name and password, etc. as before.
Configure the Time Capsule to "Create a wireless network" and select the Bridge Mode option when it appears during the setup using AirPort Utility.
Once the Time Capsule is configured, restart the entire network again. Power down everything, start the 2Wire first and then start each other device after that one at a time about a minute apart.
Now you can connect your Mac directly to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule for the backup using another Ethernet cable. In general, about 20-25 GB per hour will transfer.
The Time Capsule will broadcast a much faster wireless network than the 2Wire can provide, so you might want to leave the setup "as is" for awhile after the first backup is complete. If you decide to use the Time Capsule as your main wireless access point, you would want to turn the wireless off on the 2Wire since two wireless networks in close proximity can create interference problems.
Or, if you want to use the wireless on the 2Wire, you could turn off the wireless on the Time Capsule. Then backups will occur over the 2Wire wireless, or over Ethernet.
I don't really recommend the "Join a wireless network" setting on the Time Capsule for most users, but you could go back to that setup as well if you want after the first backup is complete.

  • PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.13 error

Came home the other day to my screen repeating the following over and over again:
For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810X PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.13 (020326)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM
    Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 082)
    Copyright (c) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
Tried to reload Windows XP and had no avail what so ever, this the error i recieve:
Set up did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.
Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected
to your computer, and that any disk related hardware configuration is
correct.  This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or
    setup program.
Setup cannot continue.  To quit Setup, press F3.
Is my motherboard toast?  Any suggestions welcome.  Hate to see my machine go, after 5 years of great service.

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM
    Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 082)
It means the hard drive was not found by the BIOS. (PXE indicates an attempt to boot from a network - lower on the list.)
So it's the hard disk that's toast.

  • P7NGM Ethernet drivers won't work

I have a MSI P7NGM-Digital motherboard. Everything else works fine, however I can't get the standard Ethernet drivers to install. I've sourced the NVIDIA MCP7A Chipset Drivers from both,
    1) here -- http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1607
    2) and even here -- http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Driver_Model.aspx?ProductID=2946&ost=others
But neither will work. Anyone have any idea where to find drivers that will enable the Ethernet hardware?
    Thanks in advance!
    The system has:
    E3110 Intel processor
2GB of 800Mhz ram (single channel)
    Seagate 500Gb ST3500630AS
    Running Win XP Pro SP3

    Supports 10/100/1000 Fast Ethernet by Realtek® 8111C

  • Windows Server 2008 x64 on Bootcamp: Ethernet drivers missing/not working

    Hello folks,
at the moment I try to get Windows Server 2008 x64 running on a new Mac Pro (Early 2009).
Installation of Windows Server 2008 x64 (Enterprise) worked out of the box. However, the ethernet drivers do not work. Ethernet cards are not detected and working due to missing drivers.
I have tried several different Intel driver packages. All of them report "No intel card found.". However, the vendor ID of the ethernet card clearly points to Intel.
I have not been able to find a driver yet, does anyone have an idea?
E.g. does someone know the exact chip name? The driver "name"? Anything else?
    Thank you in advance,
    Stefan

Erik - Thanks for the info!
I use 64-bit applications ... some notes on why:
enterprise supports up to 32GB of memory so the argument to use x64 for memory support is nullified.
... that's not correct.  x64 windows versions allow 64-bit addressing, so 64-bit applications created for x64 windows can take advantage of large amounts of cheap RAM as 32-bit applications cannot.  32-bit applications (they are all 32-bit applications in a 32-bit Windows version, even in Server 2008) are restricted to a limited process space of at most 2 GB.
It's true there is a LARGEADDRESSAWARE kludge to enable limited use of up to 3 GB by a user process (and there is an equivalent to this in Server 2008),  but this has gone nowhere because it is far more straightforward and more productive for an applications developer to simply go 64-bit rather than invest any engineering resources into a one-of-a-kind kludge for an era that is already past.
Yes, it is true that if you are stuck running 32-bit applications you have less incentive to use x64 windows.  But going true 64-bit is a huge advantage in reliability and performance.  Given the very low cost of RAM in modern times it makes sense to do so, even in notebook settings that are often limited to only 4 GB of RAM.  64-bit applications in Windows tend to have decisive performance and reliability advantages so whenever one competitor in a given segment makes the jump to 64-bit pretty much all of them must do so.

  • NForce ethernet drivers and buildin firewall

I have the 7030 board, and I have some problems with the nForce Ethernet drivers and buildin firewall.
When I try to update the Network access manager with the latest v5.10 driver pack from Nvidia I get the following error.
"1: The installscript engine on this machine is older then the version required to run this setup. If available, please install the latest version of ISSCRIPT.MSI, or contact your support personnel for further assistance."
    then I get this error
    "1603 fatal error during installation"
I followed this link and installed a patch "IsScript9.zip" that did not work. Hope someone has a sollution to this problem.
My other problem is with the firewall, when I try to change the firewall settings to any setting, I get this error "Error in FwlProfiles Set : Unable to find profile." and the firewall setting does not change.
Extra question, does the audio driver that comes with the Nvidia/nForce driver pack not work with the onboard sound card?
As an extra bonus, and to my amusement I cant search this forum I get THIS ERROR!
"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /var/www/web5/html/acp/lib/class_db_mysql.php on line 83"
    Thank you for any help.

As a point of information, I also got that error message. To get it to work I had to uninstall the Nvidia Drivers, then I ran the isScript app, rebooted and re-installed the nforce drivers, it worked. On the manual installation, when you unzip the drivers to a location, make a note of the location. Then go into Device Manager, Network Adapters and Nvidia NForce. Locate the Update Driver tab and point to the location where you unzipped the files.

  • Newer 6g pci card initializing hang up

Thought I read everything before buying this card. Now I need some help.
I have a 2008 macpro running OSX and vista.
The newer 6G PCIe 2.0 card is seated in slot 2
Both OS's can see the card seated. When the OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro Dual eSATA raid is connected and than I try to boot into Vista, it just hangs saying the card is initializing...
I have not been able to boot into Vista if the exterior enclosure is turned on.
I can boot into OSX. And I swear I could only see one drive in the disk utilities? I have not formatted the drives yet as I need to use them on windows.
Does anyone know why the card would just hang when trying to boot into windows.
I need to have a raid 0 going with this external raid and it has to work in Vista.
Any suggestions as I can't find any solutions to this.

    Just to update,
This card does not work with 2008 MacPro if you are trying to boot into Vista. At least for me. I am not trying to boot off the raid, all I want is it to be an external eSata Raid. But for some reason if the drives are on the Mac will not boot into Vista even with the internal Vista drive selected with boot priority. OWC asked me to send it back and simply said, "try some other cards?". They said the card is not finding the drivers and is just hanging there saying "initializing". When the external drives are off everything boots and works. When they are on, everything freezes when I boot. It is not hot swappable and is only an eSata interface. No PMs on either end.
I have been up the creek on this, not a single suggestion or thought on how to make this work. Sad to have blown all this time on the OWC Elite AL pro 1T bundle (newer 6G PCIe 2.0 card) for the 2008 MacPro running VISTA. No go...

  • Is MSI P35 Neo compatible with new USB3 PCI-E adapters?

I've just bought a 1 Tb Samsung USB3 powered external HDD.  Currently I only have USB2 ports which can't handle the transfer speed of USB3.  Is my MSI P35 Neo mainboard compatible with new USB3 PCI-E adapters, if I were to fit one?
    Thanks in advance
    Pedro

If it is an add-on card, it should work if the drivers are properly installed.
However, if you need more information on compatibility results, I suggest that you log a technical support ticket with MSI.
