  • New service - Email alerts for critical BC incidents

    Hi,
    We've just set up a new service that can be used to receive email alerts during BC incidents(at the start & finish of the outage).
    To subscribe you need to go to our system status page (http://status.businesscatalyst.com/) and on the right hand side you can find the "Subscribe to essential updates via email" link.
    Although we hope that we'll rarely need to use this service, I believe that this will help us communicate better and keep us tightly aligned during the most critical situations.
    Kind regards,
    Vlad

    Hi Barbara,
    I do apologize for the problems experienced this past few days. We have been doing our best to communicate in due time the information that we had available, but sometimes things just don't line up properly.
    I wanted to clarify some of your items you stated here, since some are just missunderstandings:
    the forum thread that was locked actually pertains to last week's e-mail issues. In order not to create confusion the support team has locked it, so that people can actually refer to the new threads set up for this particular incident. Otherwise people might look there and see that the issue was solved when in fact the correct status might be another. We have not at any point deleted any posts, and will never do that. The forums are a free space for communication, and we would not intervene in such way.
    The e-mail notification service had indeed a problem: it was too new. We did not expect it to be put to the test so soon, and unfortunately the processes needed internally were not 100% in place. That is why we had a small delay in sending out the notification e-mails.  The support team had not had the chance to test and learn this new process, so we apologize for the delays in information there.
    We were not able to provide a proper ETA on the issue as we were waiting for information from an external team. Due to this, our support engineers did not have any public ETA they could make available. There are times when this happens and unfortunately not much can be done while the team investigates. Rather than providing the wrong ETA we chose to say that we do not have one at that particular point.
    I want to stress yet again that we find your feedback extremly important. We have not, and will never delete any messages from the forums, be they public or private forums. We are sorry if this has happened while the thread has been locked, and our team is currently looking into why that post has been deleted.
    We will keep you up to date with an incident report once the team has had a chance to investigate as well as with proposed solutions to these issues.

  • I share my calendar with my wife.  Every time I enter a new appointment, she receives an email alerting her to it.  She has asked me to turn this off as it just fills up her email inbox with my "spam."  Any help doing this would be appreciated.  Thanks

    I share my calendar with my wife.  Every time I create a new event, it alerts her to it by send her an email.  She thinks this is just my "spam" and wants me to turn it off.  I can't figure out how to do this.  Can someone give me the answer?  Thanks

    I think (and I'll double check) only the BBLink events will sync on a wired USB sync. I'm fairly certain of that.
    You'll need to use your calendar syncing via an EAS email account (outlook.com, for instance, is free) to sync wirelessly. It works great. I use it and was a former tied to the USB sync guy as well... and I thought I was gonna die a painful death without it. I found more freedom this way.
    This explains the process. But I don't think you'll get BBM Groups to sync.

    My MacBook Air beeps every so often; I think it's new email alerts.  How do I turn this feature off?  Thanks!

    Thanks for your reply, but I had already turned the sound off there.  I also removed email from the notifications shortcut on the top right of the screen.

  • New events in iCal are automatically created with an Email alert

    How do I change the default alert method?

    Thanks Barney. To answer your first idea, these aren't alerts of the "alert me 15 minutes before the start of the event" type. Subscribers can switch those off by selecting "Ignore Alerts" in the calendar's Info pane:
    My problem is that email alerts are being raised after any and all activity in my calendar:
    If I create an event, subscribers receive an immediate email (like the one below)
    If I change the title of an event (i.e. 100% of the time), subscribers receive another an immediate email. This clearly wrong behaviour makes me wonder if we've encountered a bug.
    If I edit an event, subscribers receive an immediate email.
    If I delete an event, subscribers receive an immediate email.
    Secondly, these messages are apparently coming from iCloud. Here's what the subscriber sees when I create an event (I created this without editing the title, hence "New Event"):
    I deleted my calendar from my wife's iCal calendar list and added it again. No change. I created a new calendar, and subscribed her to it, no change. Oh, and I am subscribed to her calendar, but I receive no email alerts (which is what we want).
    She has an iPhone but I can't find any setting there that demands an email update for all calendar activity.
    Finally, I'd add that it hasn't always been like this. These alerts only appeared recently.

  • Email alert to apple ID after sim card gets changed with new number

    Hi , i would like to know that if i will get an email alert  when my sim card gets changed with the new number, to the apple ID or email ID that i  registered with Apple.

    I would try a few things along the lines of:
    Resetting the iPhone (not just shutting it down)
    Going to Settings>Carrier> this refreshes the carrier list
    Check to make sure it's on automatic or that the 3G AT&T network is selected
    Turning Airplane mode on then off to try to kick start the phone and along the same vain Flicking 3G on and off in Settings>General>Network
    Then a restore
    Then contact AT&T, double check the SIM is 3G enabled, and even if it is still get a replacement SIM
    If none of this worked i would then contact AppleCare or go in to see a genius at an Apple store cause maybe the 3G chipset is stuffed

  • BODS 3.1 : How to trigger an email alert for the jobs on BODS server ?

    Hi All.
    I have this request.
    BODS 3.1 : How to trigger an email alert for the jobs on BODS server ?
    We have jobs scheduled on BODS running smoothly and absolutely fine.
    But to check, i am logging into the admin console and check for the jobs status.
    I would like to have an email to be received from BODS after each job is finished.
    It could succuessful. Or it could fail.
    Whatsoever, i wish to receive an email alert as soon as a job is finished.
    Can anyone advise me as to whether this could be made possible.
    And if yes, how this could be done.
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    In BOE CMC / for webi / schedule / we find an option to send email for a job success or a job failure.
    Is there any option similar to that in BODS ?
    Also would like to know :
    how to use the smtp_to or mail_to functions ?
    how to set up the smtp server for this ?
    thanks

    Hi.
    Since am new to this BODS. I need some help.
    I already have many jobs which are running absolutely fine.
    And when a job runs, and finishes, am able to see the trace saying
    e.g. :
    Job_abc is completed successfully.
    We got the smtp service activated for our test server.
    and we hae a group email id.
    I have put the details of the smtp server / ip address / and said apply restarted.
    The i created a simple test script as below :
    print (' Before email ' );
    smtp_to('abc@company_name.com', 'Job ' || job_name() ||' on ' || host_name() || ' has FAILED',
    ' the job has failed', 0, 0);
    print('After Email ');
    It does send a email to as per smtp_to whatever email is specified.
    But how to differentiate between a job success
    And a job which has failed.
    I wish to have a mail which says on the subject :
    'Job ' || job_name() ||' on ' || host_name() || ' has completed successfully'
    ==> IF it is a success
    OR
    'Job ' || job_name() ||' on ' || host_name() || ' has failed'
    ==> if it has failed
    How to make the system identify, whether
    to send a success message or a error message whatever
    Could anyone advise.
    thanks

  • Have problem setting Email alerts for Calendar events. Warning message says I need to set up a card in Contacts with my email. I do but it doesn't recognize it. How do I indicate the email I want alerts sent to?

    The system of setting up email alerts for Calendar events worked fine in Snow Leopard but since I upgraded to Mt. Lion Calendar won't let me set email alerts. When I try, I get an error message saying I need to set up a card in Contacts for my email. I have a card set up in Contacts for both of my email addresses but it doesn't recognize them. Perhaps the name I have on the card doesn't match a name that Calendar is looking for. Calendar doesn't seem to have a way in Preferences or elsewhere to indicate the email I want alerts sent to. Any ideas how I can get this system working again? Thanks for your help.

    You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is marked solved, less people are likely to look at it. You can link to this one.
    See if another contact is marked as this is my card.

  • How do I stop calendar from emailing alerts to me.

    This was never an issue on ios 7, but as soon as I upgraded to ios 8 I started getting a ton of new emails alerting me to upcoming events.
    I use Google calendar, and I have Google email me alerts for certain events, and I still want those. But I do not want the ones coming from Apple Looking at Google calendar. I am not sure if these new emails are coming from my phone or my Yosemite imac.
    Thoughts?

    i am getting getting three emails from each event. One from Google, and two from Apple devices. I suspect I am getting one email from my iPhone and one from my imac. It happened just now, and the instant my iPhone popped up an alert, I received one of the Non Google emails.  About thirty seconds after that I received a second Apple email.
    By Apple email, btw, I mean an email I believe was generated by an Apple device. All the emails actually come from my gmail address.

  • How can I turn off email alerts in Lion server?

    I have a 2011 Mini Server.  I don't want to run any of the server software and followed the instructions in the Apple article "How to disable Lion Server".  The problem I'm having is that I keep getting email alerts, mostly the same one saying "The host name of server.local has changed to server.local. Some services may not work correctly until they have been updated to use the new configuration."  Can anyone help me really shut down Lion server?

    No worries. Typically you can rename a machine by just changing the name System Preferences -> Sharing. But there is also a command line option to adjust the name, and if you don't use the command line option, the server freaks out and will alert you about the change forever. ie - for servers, you need to use the command I describe below.
    The command is called changeip and can be run from command line in Terminal.app. It is for manually chaning the ip address and or name of a machine. It basically has 4 parameters: old ip address, new ip address, old machine name, new machine name.
    Basically the command looks like this:
    sudo changeip OLDIPADDRESS NEWIPADDRESS OLDNAME NEWNAME
    If any value is being kept the same, just repeat the identical information as both the old and new value.
    Example 1: Changing the IP address and host name. This would update the machine's ip address to be 192.168.1.2 and its name would be update to my_new_name.
    sudo changeip 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.2 my_old_name my_new_name
    Example 2: Keeping the IP address the same but updating the name. This would update the machine's name to my_new_name but would keep the same ip address.
    sudo changeip 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.1 my_old_name my_new_name
    Most likely you're just wanting to update the name, in which case you should follow the second example. If you run this, be sure to reboot the machine afterwards and test to make sure that any enabled services are running properly.

  • Email Alert Template Issue - List Alerts (Alert Me) emails not using customized XML alert template

    We have recently customized the XML alerts template (AlertTemplates.xml) for our site collection in SharePoint 2010 to exclude specific fields in the email when users who have subscribed using the "Alert Me" feature. We have renamed the
    custom alerts XML file and loaded the custom template in the following directory (%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\14\TEMPLATE\XML) and restarted IIS.  Once users subscribe to the alerts using the list "alert me"
    function they received the customized email as intended.
    We needed to auto-subscribe users to the email alerts so what we did was use a powershell script to add users to the alert subscriptions using the script shown below:
    Import-Csv D:\Temp\filename.csv | ForEach-Object{
    $webUrl=$_.WebUrl
    $listTitle=$_.List
    $alertTitle=$_.AlertTitle
    $subscribedUser=$_.SubscribedUser
    $alertType=$_.AlertType
    $deliveryChannel=$_.DeliveryChannel
    $eventType=$_.EventType
    $frequency=$_.Frequency
    $oldAlertID=$_.ID
    $web=Get-SPWeb $webUrl
    $testAlert = $web.Alerts | WHERE { $_.ID -eq $oldAlertID }
    IF ($testAlert) {
    $web.Alerts.Delete([GUID]$oldAlertID)
    Write-Host Old alert $oldAlertID deleted. -Foregroundcolor Cyan
    $list=$web.Lists.TryGetList($listTitle)
    $user = $web.EnsureUser($subscribedUser)
    $newAlert = $user.Alerts.Add()
    $newAlert.Title = $alertTitle
    $newAlert.AlertType=[Microsoft.SharePoint.SPAlertType]::$alertType
    $newAlert.List = $list
    $newAlert.DeliveryChannels = [Microsoft.SharePoint.SPAlertDeliveryChannels]::$deliveryChannel
    $newAlert.EventType = [Microsoft.SharePoint.SPEventType]::$eventType
    $newAlert.AlertFrequency = [Microsoft.SharePoint.SPAlertFrequency]::$frequency
    if($frequency -ne "Immediate"){
    $AlertTime=$_.AlertTime
    $newAlert.AlertTime=$AlertTime
    $newAlert.Update()
    Write-Host Created $newAlert.Title for $subscribedUser . -Foregroundcolor Cyan
    } ELSE {
    Write-Host Alert $alertTitle for $subscribedUser already done. Moving on. -Foregroundcolor Magenta
    When we ran the script and added the users and restarted the service, all users who were auto-subscribed via this method get the email without the customizations that were done in teh custom alert template.  All users who manually subscribed on their
    own to the list using the "Alert Me" function would get the customized email.
    Does anyone know why users who manually subscribe to the alerts get the customized email, and users who were auto-subscribed using the powershell script do not get the customized email and get the standard generic email template?

    Hi  ,
    According to your code, it create a new alert using SPUser.Alerts.Add() method. For this method, it will create a new alert based on the predefined alert template by default.
    If you only assigned the custom alert template to the list, users who manually subscribe to the alerts get the customized email, but users who were auto-subscribed using the PowerShell script get the standard
    generic email template.
    For your issue, you can set the new alert ‘s alert template:

    Here is a good blog you can have a look:

  • Regarding sending email alert through RFC

    Hi,
    Iam creating an email alert to my Alert Inbox via RFC when Message mapping error occurs and I created a UDF which contains the following code
    public void UDF_ALERT (String[] message,String[] Category,ResultList result,Container container){
    try {
    Channel channel = LookupService.getChannel("RS6CLNT800","CC_UDFALERT_RFC");
    RfcAccessor accessor= LookupService.getRfcAccessor(channel);
    String rfcxml="<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?><ns0:SALERT_CREATE xmlns:ns0=\"urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions\"><IP_APPLICATION_GUID/> <IP_CAT>ALERT_MESSAGE_MAPPING</IP_CAT> <IT_CONTAINER><item><ELEMENT>SXMS_ERROR_CODE</ELEMENT> <TAB_INDEX>0</TAB_INDEX> <ELEMLENGTH>250</ELEMLENGTH> <TYPE>C</TYPE> <VALUE>node not available</VALUE> </item> </IT_CONTAINER></ns0:SALERT_CREATE>"; //Generate XML Structure......
    InputStream inputStream= new ByteArrayInputStream(rfcxml.getBytes());
    XmlPayload payload = LookupService.getXmlPayload(inputStream);
    Payload rfcOutPayload = null;
    rfcOutPayload  = accessor.call(payload);
    catch(LookupException e)
              throw new RuntimeException(" Error in raising Alert", e);
    but still Iam not getting mail to my Alert Inbox
    and I created my Alert Category in R/3 system.Is it fine...
    please help me reagrding my UDF and also anything further needs to be done

    hi vikram,
    just see the below blog which explains how to trigger alerts from UDF using RFC(if you didnt see this blog yet)
    /people/bhavesh.kantilal/blog/2006/07/25/triggering-xi-alerts-from-a-user-defined-function
    also have a look at the following  links to see how to define alert category, alert rule etc properly
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--step-by-step
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--troubleshooting-guide
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d0/d4b54020c6792ae10000000a155106/content.htm
    To test if your Alerts have been defined correctly, go to SE38.  type RSALERTTEST and then click on execute  it will ask you for your ALERTCATEGORY, give the name of your ALERT CATEGORY and click execute.
    If you configured  alerts properly you will get a message that tells "alert is generated" and will give the ALERT ID.Now, go to RWB open ALERT INBOX and see if you have got the alert message in your ALERT INBOX.
    Kind Regards
    Francis
