New to HR ABAP

Hi Guys,
I am new to HR ABAP. I need assistance with cluster tables! Can anyone brief me about Clusters.
Thank you,
Venkat

Hi Venkata,
Welcome to SDN.
Table pools (pools) and table clusters (clusters) are special table types in the ABAP Dictionary. The data from several different tables can be stored together in a table pool or table cluster. Tables assigned to a table pool or table cluster are referred to as pooled tables or cluster tables.
A table pool or table cluster should be used exclusively for storing internal control information (screen sequences, program parameters, temporary data, continuous texts such as documentation). Data of commercial relevance is usually stored in transparent tables.

  • AT NEW command in ABAP Objects

    Hi everyone!
    Is there an equivalent of the AT NEW command in abap oo? When I try to use this command inside a BAdi, I get an error message.
    Best Regards,
    Luís.

    Hi,
    Thank you for your response
    Sample code:
    LOOP AT c_t_data ASSIGNING  variants are no longer supported in the OO context. Use dynamic variants instead.

  • How to log in to the new installed SAP ABAP instance ?

    Dear Experts,
    In SAP ERP 2005 installation,
    I have done central system installation, Now I need to perform postinstallation steps,
    Could you please tell me,  how to log in to the new installed SAP ABAP instance and do the post installation?
    Regards,
    Madhavan K

    Hi,
    Check the list of post installation steps:
    http://www.saptechies.com/post-installation-steps-for-ecc-60/
    From my point of view basic post installation steps are:
    - Installing SAP License (from http://service.sap.com/licensekeys)
    - Setup TMS  (STMS)
    - Import profiles (RZ10)
    - Client Copy (SCC*)
    - Create users (SU01)
    However further many steps are required as per your requirements. Cehck the link for more detailed steps.

    Hello,
    perhaps this will help you --> <a href="http://www.sap-img.com/bc049.htm">instructions</a>
    And this quote from another thread:
    <i>in SAPNW2004sSneakPreviewABAP this procedure only works if the system <b>profile parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar is set to 0</b> (and the system restarted after that), otherwise you will have a new client without any user thus useless ;-).</i>

    Hello Thomas.
    I got some questions for you.
    I think you are a great expert on SAP Development Subject.
    I saw the webdynpro tutorials that you appended on this board.
    When I saw the tutorial there were some persons work with me.
    And they were suprised with the beautiful graphics. It's M~uch better than the webdynpro Screens( like colours or Designs) that I use until now.
    So. I want to change my webdynpro development enviroment excatly the same thing as the tutorial's one.
    And I found there is URLS. That means Unified Rendering Light Speed.
    It changes Some of webdynpro's development attributes.
    And I also think it can spoils some or all the webdynpro components that existed before I applied URLS.
    I have two questions.
    one of the questions is this. If I apply URLS on my system, whether the system does get any negative effedcts from the applying.
    The other question is this. I have a experience that use NWBC. And the Tutorial's GUI looks similar to NWBC. I want to know the GUI's name and What should I do if I use it on my system.
    Component Version - ECC 6.0
    Enhencement Package Version 3
    Thank you for your concern and reading.
    I deeply Appreciate you,
    Regards,
    Jonghwan

  • Query: How to add new fields in ABAP query?

    Hi All,
    Can any one tell me how to add new fields in the ABAP query output?
    We have to add the new fields using query design or we have
    to add those in the background program(automatically generated behind query) by selecting new fields in the code?

    What kind of report? Usually, you have to add the field in the table declaration and then also in the SQL query. After that, include the field in what kind of report you are using.

  • Problems creating new Web Dynpro ABAP application

    All,
    I am following this tutorial to create my first Web Dynpro ABAP application
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/fc/501b42b5815133e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    In this tutorial I was asked to create a component as Local object.
    But after giving the name of the component, I get an alert saying
    "Object can only be created in SAP Package"
    When I confirm this, I was shown a "Create Object Directory entry" dialog box which asks for attributes like Package.
    And this box has Local Object button, when clicked I get the message "Test Objects cannot be created in foreign namespaces".
    I found some other article through Google
    http://www.octavia.de/fileadmin/octavia_files/content_bilder/Hauptnavigation/SAP_NetWeaver/WebDynpro/Web_Dynpro_Part_I.pdf
    According to this, I tried to give $TMP as Package. But still have the same error
    "Test Objects cannot be created in foreign namespaces"
    Where am I and what should I do to create a new project?
    Thanks.

    Thanks Abinav.
    My problem is with naming convention only. Component name starting with Z solved my problem.

    Hi,
    There are 2 dropdown UI elements present in WD abap.
    1. For DropDownListByKey:
    Create a dropdownby key element in your view, and bind the selectedKey property to whichever node attribute you wish to bind. When you select a value in the dropdown, it is this value you have to bind and init method write code to popuate the values to the dropdown.
    The wddoinit method: write the following code:
    data: lt_valueset type standard table of wdr_context_attr_value,
    ls_valueset type wdr_context_attr_value,
    lr_node_info type ref to if_wd_context_node_info,
    lr_node type ref to if_wd_context_node,
    wa_kna1 type <your kna1 table type>.
    lr_node = wd_context->get_chilod_node( 'NODE_KNA1MOD' ).
    lr_node_info = lr_node->get_node_info( ).
    loop at kna1 into wa_kna1.
    ls_valueset-value = wa_kna1-kunnr. "this will be the selected value
    ls_valueset-text = wa_kna1-kunnr. "this will be the displayed value in the UI
    append ls_valueset to lt_valueset.
    endloop.
    lr_node_info->set_attribute_value_set(
    exporting
    name = 'KUNNR'
    value_set = lt_valueset ).

    2. Dropdown by Index:
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/dd/b0884118aa1709e10000000a155106/content.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/dd/b0884118aa1709e10000000a155106/content.htm</a>
    Define a node (for eq. 'TEXT') with cardinality '0..n' with attribute (for eq. 'TEXT').
    In the view create a UI element DropDownIndx
    Bind the text property of DropDownbyIndex UI element to attribute Text of context node Text.
    For populating the values to the node text;
    In the WDDOINIT method you can prepare an internal table with the values and bind it to the node and the lead selection defines the selected element.
    The below code sample may help.
    method WDDOINIT .
    for populating the values in drop down
    data:
    node_text type ref to if_wd_context_node,
    stru_text type if_componentcontroller=>element_text,
    tab_text type if_componentcontroller=>elements_text .
    node_text = wd_context->get_child_node( name = if_componentcontroller=>wdctx_text ).
    Set/fill your values
    stru_text-text = 'Value1'.
    append stru_text to tab_text.
    stru_text-text = 'Value2'.
    append stru_text to tab_text.
    set values to the node
    call method node_ddi_also_text->bind_table
    exporting
    new_items = tab_text.
    endmethod.
    for reading the values which user has selected in dropdown; for reading the selected index you can write the logic/method for the Onselect event of dropdownbyindex ui element. in the method read the attribute of the node text. the lead selection of the node gives the selected element (you can use the code wizard to read the context).
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Suresh
