New window not appearing

While working on Oracle Discoverer. When the user opens a report and clicks on the search button a new window should appear but it doesn't.

Any JavaScript errors in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) about this?

  • Safari - New Windows Not Visible

I'm having problems with Safari - when I try to open a new window, either by File>New Window or by clicking a webpage link which opens in a new window, the new window does not appear.
The windows are opening somewhere as they show in the list when clicking on the WIndow tab (although selecting them in the list does nothing, nor does clicking the mouse side buttons to show all windows).
When quitting Safari I get the multiple pages open message, i.e. "There are 27 windows open in Safari. Do you want to quit anyway?".
Reopening Safari solves the problem only for a short time, as does a Restart.
I have recently (after major iTunes and kernel panic issues) run DiskWarrior, replaced and tested additional RAM, and repaired disk permissions to no avail.
    Any ideas?

Deleted the three files suggested - now, on opening Safari I cannot expand the Safari page to fill the screen width (after a certain point dragging across from the corner, the header bar disappears and the page will not expand further).
I still have exactly the same problem with opening new windows - they appear in the list, but I can't view them.

  • Tabs only open in a new window. Ctl T opens a new window NOT a new tab help-last update this problem started. How do I set FF back to open tabs in 1 window

Tabs only open in a new window. Ctl T opens a new window NOT a new tab help-last update this problem started 2 days ago. How do I set FF back to open tabs in 1 window?
There is no plus sign and going into optins and changing settings has not worked. I have uninstall FF and reinstall-keeping my personalization-and that was no help.
Right clicking on FF Icon to open a new tab, or going up to FF drop down tab and clicking on new tab both do not work.
Help everything opens a new window not a new tab. there seems to be no way to reset this or to chose a different optin. I just downloaded new tabs at end addon and it didn't do a thing.

as a first troubleshooting step - does it work like normally when you open & run firefox in [[Safe Mode|safemode]] by pressing the shift key while you open firefox (all other instances have to be closed before)...

  • When right clicking to open link in new window (not tab) foxfire immediately switches windows rather than opening new window in background

Just updated to foxfire 15.0, and now each time I open a link in a new window foxfire will switch immediately to that newly opened window rather than opening the new window in the background as it did before I updated to 15.0. I am aware of the option to check or uncheck switching to new tabs immediately, but I am speaking of opening a link in a new window, not tab. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

  • Command-T opens new window not new Tab with Snow Leopard

Does anyone else have this issue? Command-T opens new window not new Tab with SL.
And yes all my settings are correct!!

    Greetings,
If your preferences for Tabs are correctly set (the top two checkboxes are checked) and it's still opening a new window, then it would seem your preferences may be corrupt. In that case, you should quit Safari, go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete the com.apple.Safari.plist file.
Then restart Safari, setup your preferences again, and test to see if it works.

  • Master Password Feature: After sometime (10-15 min.) the drop down list for the field on any site does not show; opening new window (not refresh or new tab) drop down appears.?

I manage a ton of accounts for different customers suing the same login pages (GoDaddy, WordPress, etc.) I use the Master Password Feature to help keep track of the many variants in logins and passwords.
After some unknown period of time, even closing the page tab so a new page session is started at the remote server, Firefox does not provide me with the usual drop-down selection list of the previously used login names. However, if I open a new FF window (file/new window) from the menu bar, the drop down becomes available.
How can I refresh the original window session in FF or change the timeout length?

Well, you said LOV...that might mean you are using JDev 11g. Are you? If so what technology stack are you using?
Assuming you are using JSF (?) you might be "backing" your list component in the application scope...but that is not likely.
If you are using ADF/BC on your business component level, you can clear your view object from which you are querying the possible values of this list...unless your you have made a method to compile this list...in which case you know what you are doing...so that is probably not the case.
Essentially you want to requery the VO upon which your LOV is based...unless you are using JPA or something...and then I know "requery" is not the right word...is it?

  • Starting yesterday, Firefox would not anchor to a single window on my MacBook Pro running Lion. Every time I change to a new window, Firefox appeared with a flash. Could not assign it a window using Mission Control. Any ideas?

If I open Firefox and attempt to scroll to an open window on my macbook, the screen flashes and Firefox appears in the new window. Firefox screen flashes after scrolling to it even if already resident on that window.

  • Why is the option to open new links in a new window not available?

Hi, I'd like to select the option to open new links in a new window instead of new tab but the option is greyed out. Can anyone help me on this, please? I tried to untick "Block popup windows" to see if that would help but it didn't.

Do you mean the setting in Options > Tab or in the right-click context menu of a link on web pages?

  • How to run new executions with new windows not opening up

I am calling a step inside a for loop (with 50 iterations). Everytime that step gets called, I run it in a separate execution (and as expected, a new excution window also appears for that step). This works just fine and solves my purpose. I am wondering if there's something I can do such that the new window dosen't show up. Even though the window closes by itself when I terminate the execution programatically inside the loop, it would just be better if the new execution window just dosen't show up at all. So am wondering if there's an option somewhere to do that. I do want to keep the main execution window (which has the step that triggers new executions) running though.
This might not be possible, am just putting this question out here to see if it can be done..
    Thanks !

On the sequence call step, set Settings>>Initially Hidden and Disable Tracing,  in addition to Settings>>Close Window when Done.

  • New windows not opening inside frame when set to do so

I am using Captivate 3.0 and trying to capture a Web-based
    program.
Although I have checked the setting to open a new window
inside the frame, it appears that this is not happening as planned.
A link to a new web page will open this window outside the red
    frame.
Any clues as to why this may happen?
    Thanks,
    -Nick

    Hi Nick
As you have seen, this setting is hit or miss. Sometimes it
works and sometimes it fails. If it fails, you may always press the
Pause/Break key to pause recording, move the window into the
recording area, then press Pause/Break to resume recording.
    Cheers... Rick

  • When I open a new link or bookmark I want it to open in a new window not a slew of tabs so I can see which sites I have open.

I'm sorry if I'm not using the correct terminology. When I open a new window or a link I want it to open a whole new window so I have 500 open FireFox tabs in my taskbar if I open that many windows. I do not like having everything open in one window. Used to be I could find how to undo that but you changed everything on me and now only rocket scientists can use your application. If Chrome and Internet Explorer weren't so ridiculous, I would change. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

This didn't help me at all. I want a separate window to open each time I open a new tab or bookmark. Currently when I open a new link it just adds a tab to the window already open so from my non-technie point of view, I only have one window open and have to go up top to see what is open vs. being able to look below in my taskbar and see what I have open.

  • When I do a search, with MSN as my homepage, it pops up in a new window not a tab like it used to. MSN says it is Firefox related. How do I fix this? I have the option selected to open new windows in tabs instead and it still won't work.

    <blockquote>Locking duplicate thread.<br>
    Please continue here: [/questions/832115]</blockquote><br>
I use Firefox 4.0.1 and have MSN set as my homepage. Recently, even with the option set to make windows open in tabs instead, if I do searches on the MSN page, the results pop up in a new window. I contacted MSN and they said it is something to do with Firefox. It didn't use to do this, even after initially upgraded to 4.0.1, but started about a week ago and even with me doing nothing to my computer. How do I get this to stop and go back to new tabs instead?
It does not do this using Google, AOL, Yahoo, or another other search, just MSN/Bing.

That's strange. It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is changing your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal? Also have you tried uninstalling & re-installing flash? If you need help un-installing Flash see http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html. You also could try safe mode. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Safe+Mode .

The linked files open in a new window on my hard drive but when I uploaded the pdf file and the links folder to our intranet at work, the links work but the files do not open in a new window.
