New windows 7 pc,have updated my itunes to newest version. All purchases are on screen as being on the cloud but when I download the files, they stay in place until I shut the computer down. on restart, they 'cannot be located' any ideas?

This is really annoying me. I have a new pc. running windows 7. All my media is showing as 'on the cloud'. I don't always have access to internet so I want the files on my pc. when I download from the cloud the songs play but seem to dissappear when I restart the pc. says file cannot be located and the file dissappears from my flashdrive I have it stored on. What am I doing that's wrong??

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

no apple store replaced. they said there were 3 apple programs that kept crashing in background, which ran battery down cause they kept trying to re-load.
they backed up phone to cloud, wiped out old software and replaced new software & new battery. since then won't sync with itunes on computer.

Why does my iTunes window freeze and wont close until i shut my computer down, when the "iTunes is not the default media player" message appears? and how do i fix this? i just want to fix my music, but it freezes and i can't use my computer correctly.

when i plug my iPod into my computer, iTunes opens as normal, but for a while it's been giving me a message that says "iTunes is not the default media player" and after i 'tried' to do that, i'll close the settings window and my iTunes window will freeze and not close, reload, or anything. and if i "open drvice to view files" that window will freeze too, the internal storage window. i can't get iTunes to close with ALT+F4, or right clicking the tab on the bottom of the screen to close it, or clicking the 'X' button. the only way it closes is when i shut down my computer. please help me fix this. Its getting Really Really tiring having to restart my computer over and over.

Can somebody help......regarding the above question..... I have had I tunes on this computer for several years without a problem. I do use webroot as an antivirus software. I have Windows Vista operating system and I am using the latest version of Itunes available. When ever I open Itunes, my music, books, ect, ect. files are always gone and I have to ask Itunes to find them on my computer almost every time I open Itunes. This problem has been going on now for about the last 6 months. Nothing else wrong with computer. Another issue associated: I can create a playlist one night, and the next day I open Tune, it's gone. It can be that the library path, or files, are corrupted. What happens if you set a different path to save the library?

Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

I got a replacement I pad for a damaged on- The old Ipad was backed y up in the cloud and verified on all my devices. When I activated my new Ipad using my apple ID and tried to restore backup it said none was available what can I do?

Restore from iCloud Backup; new iPad start at step 4.
1. Erase all contents and settings (Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings)
2. You'll be asked twice to confirm
3. You'll see Apple logo and progress bar
4. You'll see a big iPad logo on screen
5. Configuration start
6. Set language
7. Set country
8. Enable Location Service
9. Select network, enter password and join network
10. You'll be given 3 options (a) Setup as New iPad (b) Restore from iCloud Backup (c) Restore from iTune Backup
11. Selected Restore from iCloud Backup
12. You'll be required to enter Apple ID and Password
13. Agree to Terms and Conditions
14. Select Backup file
15. You'll see progress bar
16. Red slider will appear; slide to unlock; step #1 to #16 is fast
17. Pre-installed apps will be restored first
18. Message: Purchased apps and media will now be automatically downloaded
19. You'll see a pageful of apps with Waiting/Loading/Installing
20. Message: Some apps cannot be downloaded, please sync with computer

iCoud (photo stream) doesn't sync videos, it only syncs (streams) photos. If you have an iCloud backup, that would include your videos and restoring the backup to your phone should recover them.

I want to use Panopto software on my iMac. It works on the PCs at the office, but when I try to open it on my iMac it only opens the video and audio, it will not open the powerpoint presentations. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks.

Don't rely on 'Preview'.
Share/Export as .ibooks file and then drag that to iTunes and sync to your iPad.
Still no joy, find a pre-processing recipe ( that includes export for iPad) that doesn't spoil the quality in the process.
Just keep in mind that low quality in means low or lower quality out, in this example.

But when did the first step in installing it, which was download the Download the Secure Download Manager (SDM) installation file, a warning came up saying: This type of file can harm your computer. Do you want to keep SDM.pkg anyway? I'm not sure whether or not I should Discard it or Keep it.

That's a warning from the Chrome browser. If you're sure that you downloaded the file directly from Microsoft, and not from any other website, you can ignore it.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

I opened up my Macbook Air and my fan started running on high and stayed on... meanwhile it was lagging so bad all of a sudden that I can barely use it.. the mouse jumps and my programs won't open, like its backed up. I cleaned up my memory recently so I know it isn't backed up. The fan stays on high from the moment I open it to whenever I shut it down. It has never done this before, what could be the problem???

Thank you, but I followed all instructions to reset the SMC and it has not helped. Looks like I'll have to take it in to Apple for repair.
