New Yorker App No Longer Sees New Issues

Beginning with the October 7 issue, the New Yorker app on my iPad no longer "knows" about new issues. Before that I used to get notified when a new issue was available and the new issue's cover would appear in the Library.
In order to download new issues I have to:
Delete the New Yorker app from my iPad
Download the New Yorker app from the App Store
Download the new New Yorker issue
Redownload any previous issues that I want to have on my iPad.
Obviously, this is tedious, time consuming and stupid.
The New Yorker app on my iPhone works fine. I get notified of new issues and new issues appear in the Library.
I have no other issues with my iPad. I'm on iOS 7.0.2. I'm on WiFi with a decent connection. I have tried restarting the iPad and resetting it. No joy.
Does anyone else have similar problems?

Same problem and from the same issue. I'm in India, wonder if it's a geographical issue.

  • DNS/DHCP app no longer sees DNS/DHCP server.

When I moved the majority of my Netware 6 servers to OES-NW last year, I started using iManager to handle admin duties for DNS and DHCP.
With a planned move to OES-L coming up, I tried accessing both services using the DNS/DHCP java console.
While I am able to log into that console, I am unable to see my DNS/DHCP server or any of the expected components for either service (DHCP pools, zone records, etc...).
I have tried both the console that is installable from the server and the newer LDAP-based version.
I have tried both 32 and 64-bit versions on XP and Windows 7, respectively.
Since I want to move those services to OES/Linux and the java console is the only mechanism that can administrate the services on that platform, I am perplexed.
My needs are simple, and I could easily move those duties to a SUSE server or even a Windows server, but that is not my preference.
Any ideas on where to begin troubleshooting are welcome.

You have more than one DNS-DHCP locator object in your tree, and the
console is picking up a/the empty one. Find the proper object (look at
the other tab in consoleone or imanager to see if it's connected with
servers zones and the like), and delete the superflouos ones.
This is an *extremely* common problem when OES gets introduced into a
tree, as it by default creates new locator objects in the server
container, if it's not configured otherwise.

  • Remote app no longer sees AppleTV and shares

I've noticed that the Remote App on my iPhone 4 looks different than it used to, so I guess it's been updated recently. Anyways, now I don't have AirPlay anymore in any video or audio apps. I haven't changed anything in terms of network set up, AppleTV configuration, nor my PC and Mac itunes sharing. Everything is the same.
The ONLY thing I can think of, other than the Remote app being updated is that I had my wireless router turned off for two weeks while on vacation. However, on returning, EVERYTHING JUST WORKS. iphone wifi access is fine, Apple TV access is fine (been watching podcasts and netflix no problem), and PCs and laptops connect same as always.
THe ONLY difference is my iphone cannot "see" AppleTV in Remote App and Airplay feature is GONE. My homesharing is still displayed as selectable libraries in the app, but selecting one NEVER CONNECTS. This also used to work perfectly fine.
I'm quite frustrated at losing such a feature.
For what it's worth, the AppleTV doesn't seem to "see" my shared library either (under "Computers")

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.

  • My New Yorker App won't download issues

When I am at my home in Dubai, the New Yorker app downloads perfectly.  Yet when I come back to China and try to download a new issue, the New Yorker app starts to ask me to connect to a wifi network while I am connected to wifi. Now I cannot download nEw issues. How to solve the problem?

Downloading the New Yorker used to work fine for me here in China up until recently and I am now having this same problem!  I found that when I turn on my VPN it does works however downloading an issue is EXTREMELY slow to the point of uselessness.  I have requested a cancellation and a refund.

  • I moved my iphoto folder to a new location by mistake. I've moved it back to its original location, but iphoto no longer sees the photos. What step(s) am I missing to return to the setup I had.

i moved the folder containing all of my photos to a new location on my hard drive by mistake. I've moved it back to its original location, but iphoto no longer sees the photos. What step(s) am I missing to allow iphoto to see the photos as it did before. Also,
I am trying to back up all of my photos to a thumb drive. Is there a way to do this thru iphoto?

Witholut knowing what you did, it's hard to know what you missed doing, no?
Try Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
Backing up just the Photos? File ->Export
    Backing up the Library?
    Most Simple Back Up
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
    Slightly more complex:
Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate

  • Downloaded the 'New Yorker' app, but...

I've got a 3G Ipad2, and downloaded the 'New Yorker' app. Then, in that app tried to purchase a copy of the magazine, but up pops a dialog box telling me that it can't log into WiFi!!! But my iPad is communicating fine with the web via 3G. What's up? None of the other apps behave this way. I normally have WiFi set to 'Off' in the settings, as I never use it. It looks like a fault with the app, and so I sent a message to the New Yorker, but they fobbed me off and sent me here...

  • New Yorker app shutting off?

I have an iPad2, WiFi only. Internet connection is currently working just fine. Earlier today I was reading an article with the New Yorker app (I have a paid subscription). Things worked fine. Just now, I re-opened the app to continue the article and the app closed after about 10-15 seconds. After this happened a few times, I shut the iPad down completely and restarted it. The problem persists. Nothing has happened to my iPad between when I was last reading the article and now. It has just been sitting on a table.
Has anyone else experienced this sort of spontaneous closure issue? If so, how do I fix it?
    Thanks!

paulcb knows his stuff - especially for a Cowboys fan, but another thing that you can do that certainly will not hurt - and may be a good habit to get into once in a while .... You can try closing all of your open/running apps as well.
Double tap the home button and your recent apps will appear at the bottom. Hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Then tap the minus sign to quit the app. Close all of the open apps the same way. Then tap the screen. Now restart the iPad.
Hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to shut off. Hold down on the sleep button until the Apple logos appears then let go of the button and the iPad will restart. See if that helps.
You may have a lot of stuff going on in the background that you are not aware of so closing apps once in a while can't hurt and may even improve the performance of the iPad.

  • Brand new IPOD Touch Apps no longer work after upgrading software

I got a Ipod touch for my wife Today at Wal-Mart. I brought it home, connected to wifi and downloaded some apps and also payed for some. They all worked fine. Then I connected to computer to transfer songs. It told me to upgrade the Ipod software so i Did. After it restarted none of the downloaded apps work anymore. I have read MANY MANY MANY discussions on this and there is no fix. I am not wiping out all the songs and reload everything all over again. It will take forever. My wifes BD is Friday and this is making me so mad after I just dropped $300 on this thing. APPLE!!! Where is the fix? I deleted the apps and reinstalled they still don't work. Anybody got this figured out? I am getting ready to get my money back and tell everyone to avoid buying ipod until they get this upgrade bug fixed.
Message was edited by: 2009 IPOD TOUCH

I have the same problem. Brand new two days ago. I synched the touch with Itunes but wasn't hooked up to the internet at the time so didn't do the software upgrade right away. Then I downloaded about a dozen apps (free and paid) with wifi directly to the touch. They all worked fine. Then I plugged it back in to Itunes and had it upgrade it to 3.1.2. It locked up Itunes several times since then and the downloaded apps no longer work (they start to open then disappear).
The problem is, no one is listening to this problem (including Anna above)! Everyone says "just do a hard reboot, or restore to factory settings, reload the apps, etc." I've tried all the standard troubleshooting but none of it fixes this. It sure seems to me this is a problem with 3.1.2 but Apple isn't helping out here. Where are you APPLE? Use some of those outrageous profits you're making to fix the problem you have created. Here's $300 of my hard earned dollars pretty much down the drain.

  • After the Airport update today, Airport Utility no longer sees my new Extreme or my 2 new Airport Express relay stations (same network); however, my internet is working and all Airports are green?

After the Airport update today, Airport Utility 6.0 no longer sees my new Extreme or my 2 new Airport Express relay stations (same network); however, my internet is working and all Airports are green?  I'm running Lion on my iMac and updated when Airport Utility prompted me to do so a few hours ago.  After applying the updates is when Airport Utility stopped seeing my routers.  But they are working?  Thoughts?

Did you remember to completely power cycle the entire network?
You would want to do this after any update or change to the network.
If you did not do this yet......things are out of sequence.
Power off everything on the network.....all devices.....power down order is not important
    Wait a few minutes
Start the modem first and let it run a minute or two by itself
Start the next device connected to the modem the same way
Work your way out on the network starting each device about a minute apart
    Check the network

If your computer doesn't see the phone when you plug it in, you may have to take it to an Apple Store.

  • In-app purchase approved for sale, folios published, why would new issue not show in Newstand?

Has anyone had this issue and what should I be looking for to problem solve?

Yes - I am having this problem as well. And if I delete the app and install it again - the new issue will appear in the newsstand... I am using an iPad 2 with OS 6.1.3 installed
I have gone through this and everything is correct...
    http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/troubleshoot-newsstand-background-downl oading-digital.html
I am wondering if this might be the problem...
In the DPS App Builder, under advanced options - there are 2 settings (which are both unchecked in my app)
    "Always open background downloaded issue"
"Auto download latest entitled folio on first launch"
I am wondering if these should be checked and if this affects my newsstand icon not updating...

    Have restrictions been enabled?
Is it possible that in app purchases have been restricted? Also is it possible that there could be restrictions in place regarding content? Could ratings be in place for the magazines?
