Newbie, estimating a system model from impulse response data

Hi
I'm new to LabView and I'm developing a PID. A microcontroller is sending data of the variable that I want to control, this way I can graph the system response to an impulse using a Waveform Chart and writing the data to a file using Write To Measurement File. My questiong is if I can get a estimated model of the system using some VI or function from the collected data.

LabVIEW has a tookit specific for system identification based on measured inputs and outputs. It's the "LabVIEW System Identification Toolkit". It works with data either measured with National Instrumens hardware or by any other means (like your microprocessor) and can work both online (at the same time your are acquiring data) or offline (once the data has been acquired). Check out this links
This document shows how to do system identification using the System Identification asistant. You could do the same, but instead of generating the signal, you should read the files from your microprocessor
This code is the one I usually show about simple system identification using LabVIEW
You can download the toolkit and evaluate it for free during 30 days from this link

How can I remove the ":" and "-" (from blank responses) from the response data?

My design view shows: "Warranty Escalation = On" (withour quotes), but responses show "Warranty Escalation = On:-" (for blank responses).
Is there any way for the responses to NOT AUTOMATICALLY ADD:
1) a colon between text fied and answer field?
2) a dash when there is no response (simply leave it blank)?

Copy Distribution model from non changeable client to new system

Hi EDI-Experts,
Help me.
How can I easily copy a distribution model from a nn-changeable client to w new system.
Example: DEV client 110, Test client 150 (with valid distribution model), new syste, QAE,cleint 200
How can I transport the distribution model from client 150 of DEV system to 200 of QAE system.
How does the generation of the partner profiles work then?Anything to consider?
!! Client 150 of DEV is not changeable !!

Goto Transaction BD64.
In the Menubar Edit -->Model View --> Distribute
Transport
U have the option of distributing ur Model view to another client.

Accessing Forte from Voice Response System

We are looking at writing a Forte application that is accessible from a
telephone voice response system. Has anyone tried this? If so, how do you set
up the interface between our Forte server (running on AIX) and the voice
response system. The voice response vendor we are looking at is Periphonics.
They supply their own hardware running SUN-OS. Communication between the
Periphonics box and our RS/6000 will be done using TCP/IP.
My impression is that we will have to wrapper some C code within Forte.
However, since we are new to Forte I am not sure how this will be done. Any
suggestions?

Forte has a new "ExtrenalConnection" class reference in framework which
you can use with any reliable TCP/IP entity. You should not have to wrapper
any C code. The ExternalConnection class supoorts fully asynchronous
processing in both clients and servers.

I've MacBook Pro 2009 model... from last few days my airport is not functional. This happened when I deleted plist of com.apple..... from systems folder from library-> preference->system. Now, when you check the status of Airport hardware it says "Not Associated". One more thing that came to my notice is that 'com.apple.internetconfigpriv.plist' this file is missing from system folder. Any help would be appreciated.

I have tried using different OS 10.7, 10.8... further OS doesn't suit my MacBook, so currently I am on 10.6. I did reinstallation twice using 10.6 but the files were not restored.

I don't have back up files for files which i deleted and they are not in trash as well.... the reason I deleted files was from the image attached from OSXdaily.com

Space Designer How to load impulse responses from meny?

I'm trying to get Logic to regocnize the impulse responses I've put in the /Library/App Support/Logic/Impulse Responses.
I have to load any external impulse manually. Is there a way to get them just in the "Load" meny as the presets are to save time and to make it easy to browse trough?

In Altiverb I've seen that it's just to put them all in a folder and then the program scans it to be in the presets list.

I am trying to create a Web Service Proxy using Jdev.I am using a WSDL file located in my local system for the same. I choose all default options but the proxy is not created due to the following error -
"Error creating model from wsdl <wsdl_name> : A class/interface with the same name xyz already in use"

I found a few threads which had similar issues but the solutions didnot work for me -
1)Error creating model from wsdl (Create separate model projects for proxies , since in the existing model project I already had generated files using create WebServiceData control wizard)
2)Error when creating Web Service Proxy (there are no duplicate variables or schemas in my wsdl)
Can someone please suggest what might be wrong ?

Using System Drive from PPC G5 as Internal Storage on my new Mac Pro

Hi all,
So, bad news is my old PPC G5 finally died on me last week, after years of faithful service. Since my Apple Care Protection Plan ran out years ago, and the cost to replace the parts I need are so astronomical, I've decided that it's time for a new machine. Good news is, I ordered my new Mac Pro on Monday! Here's my question:
I installed an additional internal hard drive in my PPC G5, and I want to utilize that drive, as well as the system drive from my PPC in my Mac Pro. What is the procedure for doing this, besides physically transferring the drives? Specifically, how do I use my old 250GB system drive from my PPC as extra storage in my Mac Pro?
Any help would be appreciated, and if I'm not being entirely clear with my question, please let me know.

Hatter's remark about coolant leak repairs being handled out of warranty is valid, though it may be too late for you if you have already purchased your MacPro. I, for one, can vouch that Apple is being responsive to the needs of those of us that bought top of the line G5's less than 4 years ago. Your dual 2.7 should have lasted longer. My dual 2.5 began to display symptoms consistent with coolant leak problems about three months ago. Even though Apple confirmed that it was not a coolant leak they still offered do the repair on their dime because of tardiness in repair and a failure to communicate with in a timely manner with me (what was estimated at 7-10 days took a month to resolve). When they were unable to fix my machine, they offered me a brand new 2.8 8-core Mac Pro in exchange! Always call and get a case number or take the machine into the Apple store to have them determine what the real issue is before giving up your hard earned dollars.

Hi Anton, yes you can do this inside SD.
It is fairly basic by itself but is usable.
It's all under Convolution Reverb in logic's plugin manual.
SD defaults to a Synthesized IR.
i always use this as a starting point and it produces good results.
for rolling your own, as i always like to do, there are 3P apps will let you construct IR's with realtime/realworld modelling.
RaySpace springs to mind here.
mind you, Noisevault and echochamber have heaps of IR's and some of my favourites are from Fokke van Saane and Steve von Kampen.

Impulse responses not found automatically

did anybody experience the following:
since updating to 7.2, Space designer does not find the impulse responses of my OLD factory presets (which i additionally kept, because I am used to them) anymore by itself.
The new factory presets find their I.R. which have been installed by default to the system library folder, without problems.
But the ones from the old factory set do not. Those preset always first ask me to show them the location of the according I.R. no matter where I place those (user area or system area).
Once the I.R. has been shown to the plugin and that song was saved that way, it will be found correctly.
Is there any way to link everything again correctly by default?

thank you for your hint. I once already tried, but possibly I i did it wrong. I scanned both the I.R. folder and the PlugIn settings folder, but the option to relove the entries was greyed out. perhaps I will have to once scan EVERTHING fron the sratch

Impulse Responses Didn't Install???

Hi,
I just had a huge crash on my Powerbook and had to re-format and re-install all software, including Logic.
Problem is, the Impulse Responses, apart from the surround IRs, were not installed. Shouldn't they be installed automatically with Logic Pro?
I chose to install the following:
Logic Pro
Waveburner
Logic Studio Surround IRs
Jampacks 1, Rhythm, World
Xtrem Analog
Xtreme Digital
GarageBand contents
And Tools

Are you sure they weren't installed?
Remember, the impulses in LP8 are in a different place than in LP7 - in LP7, they were in the usual Library/AppSupport/Logic places, but now there is a system place for impulses, in Library/Audio

Unable to Create Entity Model from existing oracle database

Hi,
I am using Visual Studio 2013, .net framework 4.5, entity framework 5.0 and oracle 11g database.
Issue Description: I need to develop WCF service to exposing the account information which needs to get the data from 20 oracle tables. Trying to create entity model from existing oracle database. first i tried creating just two tables it
was created but it took more than 30 minutes. then i selected remaining few tables it took more than a days but nothing created just showing spinning the wheel. then i tried with fresh project and selected all the tables but same issue nothing created and
also there is no error. during this process i checked database query monitoring there is a big sql statement collection tables metadata. i don't know what was wrong the query taking too much time to complete the process.
we tried multiple machine and different oracle database all are same issue.
Sql server database -looks good no issues.
Any help/tips/ideas welcome to overcome this issue.

There is a kind of scenario that users want to display an image which is from URL. In Reporting Services, if the URL points to an image file, we can directly display it by typing the URL in embedded image. However, some URLs are just sending Http requests
to server side, then redirect to another position and the server will return the image. For these kind of URLs, Reporting Services can’t directly render the image from Http response.
Answer:
To achieve this goal, we can add custom code into the report. Pass the URL as argument into our custom function so that we can create HttpRequest and get the HttpResponse. Then we can use custom function to return the Bytes() from the HttpResponse and render
it into an image in report.
Ps: In Reporting Services, it only support drawing Bytes() array into image, so we need to have our custom function return Bytes array.
Add the assembly and custom code into the report.

I do not know why you start talking about an image on the web then go on to show concerns about whether it will work for a 'local' URL.
But perhaps this answer will cover the possibilities.
So long as you can from an URL to the image, and the bytes are available for download (e.g. some web sites wrap a direct call to an image in HTML that embeds the image), the URL based icon constructors will successfully load it.
It does not matter if that URL points to
- a web site,
- a local server ('localhost'),
- an URL representation of a File on the local file system, or
- it is inside a Jar file that is on the application's run-time classpath.
How you go about forming a valid URL to a 'local resources' (or indeed what you regard as local resources) is another matter, depending on the form of the project, and how the resources are stored (see list above).
Probably the main reason that examples use images at a hard coded URL on the net is that it makes an 'image example' self contained. As soon as we compile and run it, we can see the result. I have posted a few examples like that on these forums.

Impulse Response editing - Do it the right way: IRs for Space Designer

Dear fellow board members,
after doing several research on this topic and many attempts to match some Impulse Responses I finally have to admit, that a little help or insight would be much appreciated. Most of the (Beamsonic) IRs, especially the Studer and Ampeg IRs, seem to have overlength (≈ 6 sec.) and some do have "silence" at the very beginning (see picture below).
I would be thankful for a helping hand explaining me, which part of this IR is of relevant importance: Do I need the "silence" tail at the end? What should I take care of when editing such IRs as the pictured one? Would only the marked yellow area be of importance? Get rid of the red areas (beginning & end)?
As many of the IRs I do have correspond to the image above, I have to go through heavy manual editing and before doing so, your help would be much appreciated.
Does anybody have gone through this before and would like to exchange some of his material for the Space Designer (IRs + corresponding Presets)? I am looking for: EMT 250, Studer A80 Tape, other Tape Sats as well, Ampeg, Westlake Studio D, other useful top quality IRs as well.

Really, there is no technical right way - all we are doing is altering our recorded audio in a way that we like - it will vary depending on your tools, your tastes, the material, the artistic intent etc...
a - Insert the Convolution Reverb right on the Audio Channel
itself with Pre/Post-Compression/EQing, etc.
I will do this if I want to process an individual channel for colour. Remember to set the effect to 100% wet.
b - Send audio to a Convolution Reverb Bus (and share w/multiple
audio channels), loss of quality, etc?
You're just sending a bunch of channels - in convolution terms, the results as far as I know will be the same if you process 10 channels indivdually and sum them, compared to if you sum the 10 channels then convolute them. Remember, convolution is a static process in most tools, including Space Designer.
How would you judge the value of using "Impulse Responses"
in comparison to "Plug-Ins"?
Well, I don't think anyone's done a tape saturation plugin properly yet. I'm not an expert in this field, but had some interesting discussions with one of the Sonalksis developers over on KVR who is heavily researching into tape saturation (he's doing a doctorate in the subject) and he thinks that it is possible to do a decent tape saturation plugin - not easy by a long stretch, but possible, so I'm sure we will eventually see decent plugs appearing.
Having said that, I'm not actually a huge fan of the tape sound anyway - I like the impulses for that colour if I need it, but I certainly don't run everything through it. I don't really like the smeared transients, at least on my "less natural" pieces. Rock music (as an example) may well work better.
The plugins that do saturation in varying amounts are a mixed bag in my opinion. A lot of people love VintageWarmer, but I'm not that keen on it (again, I'm not an "expert" by a long stretch, these are just my personal opinions).
I've had some great results using Guitar Amp Pro for saturation and warming (we're talking subtle stuff here) on drums and guitars.
There are a bunch of other plugs too, but none that I have used to tape saturation. DUY's tape does saturation, but not really accurate tape simulation *from what I have heard* - I haven't used it personally myself. Charles Dye seems to like it, anyway!

In general, no. Mathmatical convolution is afaiu a mathmatically "perfect" process, much like the adding of audio signals in the digital realm. As long as you know how to do the maths correctly, there should be no difference, given the same IR (it's the IR that really determines the quality of the output).
Of course, different plugs implement things differently, and have different features, but by and large, the convolution engines these things use should be generally the same.
Again, I'm no expert and haven't done exhaustive testing or anything - this info comes from discussions I have and my understanding of these processes from a DSP point of view. Other may well be able to back up or debunk what I've said, so I'll leave the floor to them now...

Tables are not coming to oracle model from sqlserver 2000 while using OMWB

I am using oracle migration workbench to migrate SQL Server 2000 to oracle 9i. When �capture source database and create the oracle model� is run. only tablespace and users coming to Oracle model from sql server. Table are not coming. These table are owned by dbo in sql server and
All other users in the database has full privilege on this tables. Do I need to some setup to get this tables

Try the following
