Newbie ! How to configurate Form Builder to use at Home ?

Hi There !
I'm just a new boy in town, I would like to know how to do to have Form Builder at home ?
I have Oracle 8i personnal downloaded free. And i also downloaded Form Developer Service 6i, but i don't know how to configurate it to use at Home! I heard that we can configurate the IP address witch allow Form Builder to out going and come back to our data base !?????? But i don't know exactly how ! please somebody can have me !

Nowhere the forms are hardcoded in the print programs.
If you wanna see any examples search se38 using the string fpexample or fptest.
Or use where used list for the function module FP_job_open.

Help!!!How to run Form Builder and Forms Runtime together?

Dear Friends,
I am new to Oracle Developement and need your help.
Everytime I click the RUN icon to run a form from the Form Builder, the Forms Runtime starts, however, closes my Form Builder the same time. After I closed the Forms Runtime, the Form Builder shows up as before.
In another word, I cannot have both Forms Runtime and Forms Builder at the same time. How can I run the form without closing the Form Builder so that it's eaiser to modify the form and time saving?

Thanks. But I cannot make by using alt+tab. I know it is strange.
I could do that before but I don't know what's wrong with it now because start of the Runtime automatically hide the Form Builder until I close the runtime. Does anyone have any idea or same experience of this? Any suggestion?

XML Form Builder Error using JRE Version 1.6.0_05

Hi Experts,
I am trying to create an XML Form using XML Form Builder. But I noticed that the root nodes under the data model area of the said tool is not clickable(even if it has + sign on it)thus hindering me to continue. I encounter this error using jre version 1.6.0_05.
Can someone help with this?

Have you tried double clicking?
If this doesn't solve the issue, you might want to try using a different version of the browser and disable the pop up blocker on your browser.

How to kill Forms Runaway Process using 95% CPU and running for 2 hours.

We had a situation at E-Business Suite customer (using Oracle VM server) where some of Form processes were not being cleared by form timeout settings automatically.
Also when user exits the form session from front end, the linux form process (PID) and DB session did not exit properly, so they got hung.
They were spiking CPU and memory usage and causing e-business suite to perform slowely and ultimately causing VM host to reboot the production VM guest (running on Linux).
We could see the form processes (PIDs) using almost 100% cpu with "top" command and running for a long time.
Also we verified those Form Sessions did not exist in the application itself.
ie. Using from Grid Control -> OAM-> Site Map -> Monitoring (tab) -> "Form Sessions".
It means that we could safely kill that form process from Linux using "kill -9 <PID>" command.
But that required a continuous monitoring and manual DBA intervention as customer is 24x7 customer.
So, I wrote a shell script to do the following;
• Cron job runs every half an hour 7 days a week which calls this shell script.
• Shell script runs and tries to find "top two" f60webmx processes (form sessions) using over 95% cpu with 2 minutes interval.
• If no process is found or CPU% is less than 95%, it exits and does nothing.
• If top process is found, it searches for its DB session using apps login (with hidden apps password file - /home/applmgr/.pwd).
a. If DB session is NOT found (which means form process is hung), it kills the process from unix and emails results to <[email protected]>
b. If DB session is found, it waits for 2 hours so that form process times automatically via form session timeout setting.
It also emails the SQL to check the DB session for that form process.
c. If DB session is found and it does not timeout after 2 hours,
it kills the process from unix (which in turn kills the DB session). Output is emailed.
This are the files required for this;
1. Cron job which calls the shell script looks like this;

If you have the same problem with some other unix and DB processes, the script can be easily modified and used.
But use this with thorough testing first (by commenting out <kill -9 $PID1> lines.

How to install forms 6i runtime using windows Systems Management Server?

Our clinents are using oracle forms 5 application and we want to upgrade to forms 6i ( client /server ).
How to install oracle forms 6i and reports 6i runtime in multiple client machines
using windows systems management server instead of installing one by one manually.

Here is a quick summary on why this works...
The Problem:
The issue relies with the method and logic that MDT’s scripts use to query and validate that the proper disks, partitions and storage space reside before starting the installation of Windows.
Essentially what you have configured in the Task Sequence and the UNATTEND.xml is analyzed by the MDT scripts then a validation is completed against the hardware in which you wish to install Windows
on and if there are any errors you will be prompted with MDT Error or Warning dialogs.
The problem is that the MDT scripts use WMI to query the hard disk, partition and free space requirements for Windows, but in the case of using GPT disk, the 2nd partition (MSR) that you have to create
is hidden. The class that WMI uses for its query can’t see the MSR partition so instead of 3 partitions, it returns 2 in the query results; hence why DISK 0 PARTITION 3 doesn’t work as mentioned earlier when configured in the MDT Task Sequence.
Although the above still confuses me as to why it works with DISK 0 PARTITION 2 since the WMI query results return PARTITION IDs 0 and 1 when it should return 1 and 2…
The Windows Pre-Installation Environment however does see all 3 partitions correctly and we tried configuring in our Task Sequence to install Windows to DISK 0 and PARTITION 2 and in the UNATTEND.xml
file to install Windows to DISK 0 and PARTITION 3 but due to timing issues of the way Windows installs with MDT, did this not work for us.

How to upgrade Forms 11gR2 to use JAVA 7 after it was installed with JAVA 6

I recently installed Forms 11gR2 on a development server. We are trying to have the latest versions of everything to migrate from Forms 10g and assure we have support for the next few years.
Our platform has the following software configuration:
Solaris 10 (Update 19) SPARC 64 bits
Weblogic 11g (10.3.6) that was installed with Java JDK 1.6.0_38
Forms 11g R2 (11.1.2.1) that was also installed with
Java JDK 1.6.0_38
I tried to install Weblogic and Forms using the latest Java 7 JDK (1.7.0_25) but I got an error in the final steps of Forms setup, when I was configuring the domain. I searched online and found a couple of tips but nothing worked. The installation was stuck at the
Creating Weblogic Domain step. So I decided to try the installation process with the Java 6 JDK that we are using right now for Forms 10g, and it worked perfectly. I have now two options but I don't know which one might be the better path:
Uninstall Weblogic and Forms 11g completely, and try to re-install them again with Java 7, trying to fix the error that I got at the end of the configuration process.

Well if I got it to work with java 6 I'd leave it alone, to say the least. The elephant in the room is the certification matrix.

there's 2 issues, what jdk does forms on the server want? Bigger question, what JRE is acceptable on the client?
You would surely want the jre to be 7 on the client. Regarding the jdk on the server, you could leave it as is IMHO.
Note that there was a patch to 11gr2. In conclusion, be sure to check the cert matrix regarding what is certified for the jdk for the server.
I think the matrices are saying that if you have forms 11.1.2.1.0 that you can use the jdk 7. but like I said the big issue is what can the client use?
As I read the matrix I think it is saying you have to have 11.1.2.1.0 to use the jre 7 on the client.
So I would say if you have 11.1.2.1.0 on the server you are good because it's not a problem to have the jdk 6 on the server, if not you have to apply the patch in order to enable the jre 7 on the client.

How to check how many adobe forms are in use cross systems or locally

How many ATV2's can I use with home sharing at once?

I am installing a fairly large home network. I have 10 ATV2's I would like to use on 1 network using home share, all will be connected via ethernet. Is there a limit to how many atv2's I can have connection one itunes account with home share or a limit using the remote app?

It used to be a limit of about 5 AppleTVs per iTunes library with AppleTV 1 but that registered them as devices rather than using Home Sharing.
I suspect but don't know for sure that Home Sharing has to be more liberal as Home Sharing now works to portable devices like iPads too, and if the household had a couple of AppleTV2's, iPhoness and iPads they could reach 5 very quickly.
Having said that we just don't know. There is a limit of sharing to 5 computers with Home Sharing, so it's possible the same applies to individual device types, we just don't seem to know from the support docs posted.
Personally I'd be surprised if 5 was the limit as under the old system if you ran out of 'Devices' in itunes you could set up another computer for the next 5 and so forth. Home Sharing on the other hand just shares to a particular account so you'd see all libraries shared from a particular account on all AppleTVs.

How to start Forms or Reports 11gR2?

Pardon me for the newbie question, but I haven't got any clues on how to run forms builder and reports builder 11gr2 on linux (centos 5.8).
installed it fine, but then now I can't start the damned thing.
Tried looking through the install guide and it doesn't seem to have a section on "how to use forms builder". Don't see a user's guide either.
it's driving me crazy. i would have thought it would be easier to find simple information like this but clearly it eludes me.
which manual should I be looking at, if there's any?

First run this command in a terminal to start Weblogic Server:
MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/<domain-name>/bin/startWebLogic.shThen run this command in a second terminal to set environment variables to use the nodemanager:
WL_HOME/server/bin/setWLSENv.sh
In the same second terminal Start nodemanager with this:
WL_HOME/server/bin/startNodeManager.shNow open the Administration Console in a navigator and get login, point your url to: http://localhost:7001/consoleNow start WLS_FORMS and WLS_REPORTS managed servers from the Administration Console, it's very important that you have started nodemanager, otherwise you will not be able to start both services.

Oracle Forms Builder - Errors

Hi to all!
I'm beginner in Oracle Forms and Reports. The OS is Windows and the software is Oracle Forms and Reports Developer 10g with Database Server 10g. I have started with customers.fmb and orders.fmb. When I try start customers.fmb, I get the error FRM-40911:Record not created due to sequence number generation error. In orders.fmb I get the error FRM-10102: Cannot attach library webutil_lib.
How to solve these errors?

When I try start customers.fmb, I get the error FRM-40911:Record not created due to sequence number generation error. Double-check the sequence used by the CUSTOMERS table and make sure the sequence exists. If it exists, check the permissions to see if your user has SELECT privilege granted.
In orders.fmb I get the error FRM-10102: Cannot attach library webutil_lib.Sounds like your environment is not configured correctly. The WebUtil.pll (PL/SQL Library) is included with Oracle Forms and is located in the <DEV_SUITE HOME>/forms directory. This directory location needs to be added to your FORMS_PATH so the Forms Builder can find the library. The Forms Builder FORMS_PATH variable is located in the Windows Registry. Edit your Windows Registry and navigate to the following Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE => SOFTWARE => Oracle => KEY_DevSuiteHome1 (your key may be named slightly different). Now, in the right side, scroll until you find the FORMS_PATH string object and double-click to open the editor. Add the directory where the webutil.pll is located to the existing value in this string variable. When you are done, it should look something like the following:
