Night-service date including year

Apologies if this has been already discussed but my quick search was unable to find a solution.
We use the night-service feature for incoming calls to the office main number which works well. We also program the 'night-service date' option for all public holidays and when the office will be closed. The problem with this option is that you cannot set the year for this date. This requires us to either change all the dates on January 1st of each year, or have dates which are part from the current year, and part from the next. eg. If I change the dates on July 1st, anything January to June will be for the following year, and anything July to December will be for the current year. I then need to have a record which indicates the dates were changed on July 1st so that I know which are for which year.
Is there an easy way to set a Night Service date to be year specific? It would be good if this option was set by: night-service date 2010 January 1 00:00 23:59

Stephen,
There is no way, to my knowledge, to configure a year for night service. One option would be to setup an auto attendant script in Unity Express. In a CUE script, you can give the call different treatment based on a configured holiday schedule, business hours, time of day, day of week, etc.. This holiday schedule in CUE does take year into account.

While going through Enable support for Service Interface wizard as explained in developer guide, in step 7 I read this

This is fine if you raise exception from your code. It will be raised as a server fault only.

Web Services Data Control - Complex type bindings

I am calling a web services using the web service data control. The request object is a complex type. I observed that some data managed to bind but some failed to bind (empty value on the outbound SOAP payload). Specifically, all the "scalar" elements within the complex type managed to bind. For example the following element snippet within the overall complex data did not bind the value entered to the SOAP payload:

Thanks for the response. I looked further into the problem. This is what I found.
This is error message:
javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException: Foundation Engine Error: '' is an Invalid search zone. Valid zones include: 'id_object','name','published.name','comment_text','published.comment_text','note','document_extension','published.document_extension','physical_id','file_title','published.created_by','content'
I turned on the trace and found the following message:
[SRC_METHOD: parse] [225] No XML file /ObjectiveSearch/send/params/searchRequest/searchInput/searchInfo/zones/zones.xml for metaobject ObjectiveSearch.send.params.searchRequest.searchInput.searchInfo.zones.zones
But when I looked into the model directory, I only able to find:
H:\JDeveloper\AdvancedSearch\Model\adfmsrc\ObjectiveSearch\send\params\searchRequest\searchInput\searchInfo\zones\zone.xml
It seems that WS data controller adapter is looking for zones/zones.xml. The wsdl specify zones with sub-elements(sequence) of zone (see wsdl below). The correct structure (zones/zone) is shown on the web service data control pallete and I can bind it to a JSF page.

Web service data source - Entry 70 still missing

Hello,
I have created a web service data source in order to create a push mechanism for master data.
Before implementing and consuming it in R/3 side, I have tested the generated function module of the data source.
I have created a real time (and push) info package, assigned it to a daemon and executed the FM.
After executing the FM, my request remains in yellow and I get the message:
"...... Entry 70 still missing " .
In the Status tab I get the message "No Idocs arrived from the source system."

1. In the infopackage I have set the automatic closure to 1 hour
2. Data is not getting loaded to the datatarget
3. When we click on assign on infopackage it gives an error ' No profile selected for web service'. When we ignore this and go to the Monitor: Real time data acquistion screen adn try to add the DTP it fails.We are not able to include the DTP in the deamon. It fails with ' Operation CHECK_STATUS_OF could not be carried out for REALTIME_DTP '

IOS4 update issue - Date showing year 2523 BE (unable to change to 2010)

I just updated my iphone 3GS last night and noticed the year date as being 2523 BE and am unable to change it back to 2010. I can change it back and forth a few years from 2523 BE but not able to roll down to 2010.
No other issues seen, iOS4.0 update wen through without any problems.
Anyone else seeing this or have any ideas whats causing this?

Solved: I found out my calendar setting was set to Buddhist hence the '2553 BE' date.
I reverted back to Gregorian and all ok now. My phone hasnt gone dead after this either. Weird hey.

how can I filter a date without year, considering only the day and the month.
Example: SELECT * FROM KNVK WHERE GBDAT BETWEEN '%0101' AND '%0131' to select the contacts whom was born in january. This instruction doesn't work.

The following variance formula will ONLY work if the client selects the time frame of 1 year. For example 2008-01 to 2008-12

Thank you for all of your patience, guidance, and expertise trying to create this formula on the report level.
Could either one of you explain the significance of creating these types of formulas at the semantic level vs. the report level? I have been working on the following formulas and reports to varying degrees of success. Once finalized, these templates may be utilized as Opendoc reports between 2 universes.
After a great deal of research, I am inclined to think that these formulas need to be created at the semantic level rather the report level. What is the best way to argue this case to my design team?

This report is intended to summarize the product data for any two (2) periods and provide variances for each of the product/service details.
Reporting periods will be month vs. month, quarter vs. quarter, YTD vs. YTD or year vs. year. Month vs. month and quarter vs. quarter can be year-over-year comparisons (1Q08 vs. 1Q09) or sequential period comparisons (4Q08 vs. 1Q09).

Contact the police about the theft. Change passwords on any accounts used with the device. Contact the carrier about discontinuing service and possibly blocking future contracts with the phone. Shop for a new phone.

Loading data one year at a time

Hi,
We have a situation where we need to load data one year at a time. I saw this done a few years ago but do not remember the details.
What I am thinking is that we could initially run a full load with the following parameters:
$$ANALYSIS_START: 1/1/2006
$$ANALYSIS_START_WID: 1/1/2006
$$INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE: 1/1/2006
$$ANALYSIS_END_WID: 1/1/2006
And this should give us one year. What I am not sure about is how to load each subsequent year???

Is the issue a performance issue (ETLs running for too long)? The problem is that if you do Year by year..and you want to do a "incremental" load for each year, that would be even more of a load..since you are not allowing for BULK load (where the tables get truncated). Either you can truncate and do BULK or incrmental..which may be an even heavier load. I think you are assuming that this approach will somehow help you from a hardware limitation standpoint..do you know for sure that it will?
If you really do want to do it, as I mentioned, you can edit the INITIAL and END parameters. It would help if you clarify the Hardware limitation...I think there are better ways to handle this than to do what you are doing.

How can I transfer all my data including SMS to my mac/windows computer?

My friend has asked me to help her transfer all the data from her iPhone 3GS to a computer then to a hard drive. She has several folders with pictures in but image capture on mac is only picking up the one. I have an iPhone 4S and iPad 3 installed already on iTunes so don't want to accidentally erase her phone.
She also needs some of the SMS messages taking off of her phone and saving either as they are or in some form of text file so they are readable in the future.
How can I retrieve all this data including the messages without losing anything and can it be done for free?
If you need anymore info please just ask and I'll try and pass it on to the best of my (limited) knowledge.

SHe can also do a backup of her phone and it will save the text message, but she won't be able to view the text unless she restores to the backup.

Data Federator - Building Web Services Data Source - Request Guidance

Hello -
I am trying to build a web services data source in Data Federator.
I have:
1. In ECC, I have created a web service, proxy, port, endpoint, etc. and am testing it with WS Navigator
2. I have created a Project in Data Federator of the type web service
    a. Here I have assigned the WSDL URL (generated in ECC) as the URL
    b. I have setup web service authentication using the same userid, pwd in the web services definition (note: I have set the
        web services authentication to 'NONE' to avoing authorization issues)\
    c. I am now trying to "Generate Operations"
I keep getting the error :
The File Access Parameters are not valid (directory path = <HERE IS THE PATH TO THE WSDL WITH THE HOST/PORT stripped OUT>; file pattern = document
I believe that it is finding the WSDL, becuase when I change the WSDL from 'Document' to 'RPC', the error changes with the file pattern = rpc.
What needs to be done to the file access parameter piece.

We are using XI to load data to BI from source system. XI basically uses the same concept as Web Services - Real time data concept via RFC embeded in Proxies.
I was using web services to test data load - eventually we will use XI.
KJs blog is pretty good. I was able to get data loaded - after several iterations and several OSS notes. It is still not perfect - there are several manual steps . I am going to pick KJs brain on that.
We are on SP10 and looks like there are several bugs in RSRDA. Some of these are addressed in SP11 an SP12.
Some notes to consider are
0001003963, 0001008276,0001009260 and 001003265.

Using 2 web services data sources in the same report

I've been trying unsuccesffuly to use 2 web services data sources in a report. The main report accesses the first web service to get job summary information. 3 fields are are passed as parameters to a sub-report and used as parameters for the sub-report selection. Each report works fine independently, but when I link them together the subreport alway fails to retrieve data.

Unable to find Web Service Data Control in Menu

I am trying to call a web service from ADF. For that, I want to create a web service data control
As I understand, if I right click on the Model project, I should see the Web Service Data control under Business Tier > Web Services. (as shown in Sec 2.1 of -- http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/1013/wsadf/adfcomplexwstypes.html#WsProxyPojoControl)
However, I am not able to find this entry in there.
I have tried the following things:
I have tried with Jdev 10.1.3.5, 10.1.3.4 and 10.1.3.1
I have tried selecting all the technology templates available for creating applications
- No Template
- Web Application [ JSF, EJB, Toplink]
- Web Application [ JSF, ADF]
- Web Application [ JSF, EJB
- Web Application [ JSF, Struts,ADF] ......and everthing else...
I still cant see the web service proxy.
I next opened the Sample ADFToystore application, and I could see the Web service Data control there !....that means my jdev is not faulty...something else is missing.
So I tried to see what all libraries are selected.... I saw that a library named 'Web Service Data Control' is there in the project, which is not there in the model project of applications I created. So I added this library to the project but still it did not work..
Next I added ALL libraries that I could see in the libraries section of Project Properties....still no luck
I am sure I am missing something basic. Can anybody please help.

No data in generated document/web service data source/complex response type

I can define a report with a template with the BI Publisher server and the Template Builder Desktop plugin. When I use an sql statement as data source the preview functionality in Word and in the browser (logged in to the server) results in a correct report, with the correct data from the data source.
When I use a web service as a data source I can still generate and preview reports but no data from the data source is visible in the reports. However this data is available in the Template Builder plugin in MS-Word.
How do I know this ? When I try to insert a field from the data source into my rtf template the plugin shows a screen with the available fields. Or actually, the screen shows all fields returned by a dummy call to the web service. When I click on a field it shows the value returned by the web service just after the test "Example". I have set up my web service such that it always returns the same response.
The field I want to show is in a repeating record, but it does not make a difference when I surround it by a group:

Neither does looping over all fields display any data:

The fact that the response of my web service data source contains repeating records might be different from what others have tested so far.
I also found two other features when defining reports. I mention them here because they could be related to my problem. When I define two data source for my report, a web service and an sql query then only the fields from the sql query are visible in MS-Word/Template Builder. Even when the Data Model specifies the web service as "Main Data Set". And the "Default data source" is always a database even when the Data Model only defines a web service as "Data Set".

Unfortunately I can not test against a public webservice and follow the examples in the tutorials, since BI Publisher does not seem to offer any proxy configuration to connect to the internet.
My local webservice returns the following data, visible when viewing the report from the backend, when no template has been defined yet:
